Stars: 3.5/5

Premise: Toma and Miyako, raised side by side in an orphanage, deal with their intense, violent desires together.

Pacing: Well paced. Nothing is too rushed.

Plotline: This. Is. Fucked. Up. This is not for the faint of heart. I read this with a morbid curiosity. Miyako is absolutely fucked in the head, and I really liked it. He tormented himself with his sadistic desires versus his desire to let Toma live. It involves amputation, S/M, bestiality, severe neglect, abuse, and more. You kind of want the characters to live happily ever after, but it might be better for both of them to just kill themselves. I dunno, it was a very weird read.

Artwork: 4/5. It was good, but I felt some scenes could have been more graphic. Then again, maybe it couldn't have been published if it was more graphic.

Characters:
Miyako: Let me repeat, he is absolutely fucked in the head. He wants to torture Toma to death and is consistently emotionally abusive from childhood on. Toma's love for him is inexplicable, but still cute? in a way.

Toma: He is the masochist to Miyako's sadist. Due to Toma retaliating against their Yakuza boss, after the boss let his dog fuck Toma, his arms get cut off. He spends almost the entire manga without arms. There are many problems related to this, such as the neglect he will face when Miyako willfully doesn't check in on him. He takes the abuse and adores Miyako all the more.

CONCLUSION: It's very violent and very dark. Do not read if you can't handle the triggers I listed above.

Cutting more for content than spoilers: A yakuza member is forced to cut of his childhood friend-cum-love interest's arms--leaving one man crippled and the other infatuated. This is such a throwback! I remember the amputee BL boom of early 2010s fandom, read Sadahiro's then-entire oeuvre in 2009, but missed this overlapping amputee manga from 2010-11. It's entirely my trash. BL is prone to incoherent plot twists and predictable endangerments that clutter the interesting relationship dynamics, and this is no exception. But Sadahiro sometimes convinces that clutter to work for her, and the third party--source of most twists &c.--foils some elements of the relationship and teases out others. And when she lands on an interesting concept, she identifies those elements which make it compelling--this is a fully-realized exploration of the dependency, vulnerability, violence, body horror, fetishization, and death drive that make this particular fetish so fun. This feels dated, but that mostly speaks to BL manga conventions and the trope's heyday; I'd've appreciated it then and still do now.
