📘 A Trouble Shared (Geraldine's Gems Book 3)

AUTHOR- Julie Day
PUBLISHER- Smashwords; 1st edition (25 December 2012)
GENRE- Fiction

Harry Chambers, a devoted workaholic with an unyielding pursuit of perfection. Unfortunately, these very traits leave him overwhelmed during what should be a joyous time of year—Christmas. Harry is determined to complete the office's directory before the looming deadline, but his efforts seem to be in vain. However, a timely intervention from his aunt Geraldine changes everything. She imparts a simple yet profound piece of wisdom: "A trouble shared is a trouble halved." With these words echoing in his mind, Harry comes to a realization—he doesn't have to face his challenges alone.

Enter Carol, a colleague who has been quietly observing Harry's struggle. Recognizing his need for assistance, she steps forward to lend a helping hand. With Carol's guidance, Harry becomes more organized and finds himself making progress on the directory day by day. As Carol continues to support him, Harry discovers something unexpected—he falls deeply in love with her. Through their shared experiences and collaboration, he realizes the truth behind the adage "A trouble shared." Indeed, when burdens are divided and shared with others, they become lighter and more manageable.

In this heartwarming tale, Harry's workaholic tendencies and perfectionism become catalysts for personal growth and the blossoming of a beautiful relationship. As he embraces the concept of teamwork and reaches out for support, Harry not only achieves his goals but also discovers the transformative power of connection and companionship. The journey teaches him that the burdens we carry are lessened when we allow others into our lives, leading to a brighter and more fulfilled existence.

Characters are the driving force behind any story, and those were well-developed and multi-dimensional and connected with readers on a deeper level. Plot was great and kept me engaged from start to end. By carefully choosing her words and crafting sentences that flow easily, authors created a seamless reading experience that kept the audience engaged.

Must recommended series!!

Author has a magic in her hands while writing a book ! ❤️

This is the second part of the series and the story had a different plot than the first one. I loved the story as in how all the elements complied to frame a story, love, friendship, and obstacles. With the Christmas coming up, Harry is all confused in everything: what to do, how to do, when to do. He was a lost person trying to sort out things. His dead aunt Geraldine guides him to sort out things. Later, Carol, his colleague helps him to complete the assigned tasks but will he accept her ? Will they initiate a beautiful love story ? Where will the story take a turn ?

A fantastic short read. It’s a light hearted read to grab the reader’s attention. The cover page is intriguing with a beautiful title. Go and order your copy now ! Recommended to the people of 16 years and above !

Harry Chambers is behind in his work, and with Christmas coming up he doesn’t know how he’ll manage to finish everything on time, let alone enjoy the holidays.

Just as Harry is starting to despair, he hears his dead Aunt Geraldine’s voice. At first he thinks he’s going mad, but then he decides he might as well listen to what she has to say. Geraldine encourages Harry to ask for help completing his project. When Harry’s colleague, Carol, hears about his difficulties during their work meal, she offers to assist. Carol turns out to not only be resourceful and well organised but kind, understanding and a good friend too. But will Harry be able to follow his Aunt Geraldine’s advice and succeed in taking his relationship with Carol to the next level?

This is a simple, relatable story about friendship, love and overcoming everyday problems. I found this story to be both comforting and encouraging as well as enjoyable.
