TIME PASSES TIME: THERESA'S WAR. It is 1941, and the world is at war. Young Theresa Compton is left devastated after giving up her illegitimate child and joins the Special Operations Executive, an organisation of undercover agents working behind enemy lines. Her mission is to assist a Resistance group run by the handsome Pierre Reuben and it is not long before they fall in love. Soon Theresa becomes pregnant but circumstances tear Pierre and the child from Theresa.
In London, 1963, an older Theresa is haunted by her experiences during the war. In her damaged mind, the past tangles with the present and Theresa soon feels she has to make a terrifying decision. Her long-lost children are seeking answers. Will Theresa be reunited with them, before it's too late?
A thrilling saga love story by top ten Kindle bestselling ebook saga author, Mary Wood. Time Passes Time is perfect for fans of Margaret Dickinson, Pam Weaver and Lily Baxter.
But life isn't just this dangerous and courageous work, or the love that consumes her and Pierre. Or the child they give life to.
Life is now confusing, and Theresa is lost in a mind that tangles the past with the present. What has gone has to be atoned for as revenge is sought by a child, grown into a bitter woman, and a son seeking answers - with the result that many suffer and Theresa has to chose if she can face the future, or decide if it is all too late.
A five star for the wonderful storytelling of Mary Wood. I wasn't planning on reading this book just yet, I have so many on my pile to read, but be warned.... Once you start reading , it will have you wanting to turn the pages to find out what is going to happen next. The story has some wonderful characters that you can't help but feel for. It is set during World War 2 and 1963. Theresa is mentally disturbed with the events from the war, it tells the story of her consequences. Theresa is mugged, and has her bag stolen, and inside lays her soul to bare for Lizzie who has it in her possession after her brother stole the bag. The story turns very dark involving drugs, and through Lizzie we discover Theresa's feelings and what happened to her and her love in the war. Without giving anything away the ending had a twist that was so unexpected. Mary is such a wonderful storyteller, she says it how it is, and is very gritty, and wonderfully put together. I can't wait for her next novel!
I didn’t enjoy this at all. Way too far fetched. No less than 3 couples meeting for first time and knowing they were “the one”. There were too many characters and it just wasn’t believable
Having read all three of these books , I just had to read TimePasses by.I dont think I've been so engrossed in books so much. Once I'd started I had a job to put them down.I thoughely enjoyed them, and would certainly recommend them to be read.looking forward to reading some of Mary Wood,
So glad that I continued to read about the lives of Theresa and her family,it was a lovely book, very captivating, there were moments I wanted to get to the final chapter, only because I wanted so much to see the outcome of it all, very sad life Theresa lead ,but a happy ending, thank you Mary, great book,
At first I found it confusing who was what and who was related to who. It wasn’t till I got halfway through that I found it more interesting and found out who was related to who.
All 4 books were enjoyable to read. The characters believable. The villages and stories of each character enjoyable reading. The war years in France. Recommend all 4 books
I realize this is the fourth in a series. Had I not looked at the other editions, I would not know that. Just started. UGH!!! I cannot finish this book. NO Spoilers but some content too disturbing for me, the way it is portrayed so casually. ~
I enjoyed this one and thought it a fitting end to a great trilogy. It brought together all the people I had read about and tied up all the loose ends. Thank you Mary Wood for being a good story teller.
Well once again Mary you have done it this was a fantastic read for a second time but after reading the other Breckton books this is the conclusion definitely a 5 star . But why haven't the resistance workers been given the honour they so deserve they seem like the forgotten army . Well done Mary xx
