DNF @ 45%
I was bored out of my mind. This was moving at a snails pace and when I realized how badly I just wanted this to be over I decided to throw in the white towel.
Two major annoyances:
(beware of spoilers!)
1. Keep in mind that this is around 35% in and the H/h have been spending loads of time together and the hero has some feelings for her at this point. The hero is on a "date" with his ex-girlfriend because she keeps badgering him about getting back together when he doesn't want to. So Cole somehow thinks the best way to tell her this is by going out together. Whatever. Not the thing I had a problem with. What I had a problem with was when she's getting a little too touchy-feely and Cole does this:
God, that ruined everything for me.
2. The very hurtful/unforgivable things he said to Everly right after his ex plants some seeds of doubt in his mind. And the way Everly forgave him way too quickly! Fuck that shit! I'm out.

Although this book was a little slow, I really enjoyed the story. Everly was an interesting heroine - she's smart and strong- she's been through a lot but survived. I also really liked Cole. I liked the romance between these two and the build-up to their relationship. I had a few small complaints - the drama towards the end was a little over the top and it did seem to be a little slow. Overall, I did enjoy this story and look forward to reading more by this author in the future.

Super sweet love story. Not at all like the usual drama filled NA style. It read much more like a regular CR. Neither Everly or Cole were "young" sounding despite being 23.
I loved the way their relationship developed - it was the very antithesis of insta-love. Cole is a good guy, without the kind of ego you would expect from a famous baseball pitcher. Everly was a great character as well. Despite the issues in her past she rarely let them dictate her actions.
The mystery, while a very small part of the plot was interesting, and kept me guessing.
I was BEYOND excited when the author passed up an opportunity to pull a serious bit of drama at the end. So refreshing!
This was a low steam story - not that that detracted from it all all for me. (And you know how I love my smut! :). It fit the overall feeling of the book.
Overall this was a sweet, relatively uncomplicated book. Great characters, great relationships, very satisfying.

Desperate to keep his injured arm out of the news, Cole Parker seeks help from his brother. He will go to any means necessary to get better in time to sign a contract to allow him to keep playing baseball in Atlanta. In order to do so, his brother asks a favor from one of his students that is about to graduate and become a physical therapist.
Everly accepts the job because she truly needs the money to help out her Grandpa and his home healthcare. What she didn't count on was the feelings that she encounters from the very beginning. Could major league baseball player, Cole Parker, seriously have feelings for a lowly waitress? Or is he merely acting to keep up the appearance of ‘dating’ so news of his arm doesn't make it on ESPN? Maybe this job was bigger than her...maybe she is in over her head. But she might as well enjoy it while it lasts.
I just love when an author comes out of their comfort zone that he or she is used to and ventures into something totally different for them. In this case, Thomas is an author that is used to writing YA Fantasy. But let me tell you something...this lady nailed the whole NA genre. This book was so great and so addictive. I love how it sucked me in. And truthfully? I didn't want it to let me go. I could have hung with it for a lot longer than what it did. I hate when a good book has to end. It is just not fair...not fair at all.
My heart loves it some Cole Parker. I love that he wasn’t a jerk in the beginning. Even though he is all male, he was raised right and wasn’t full of himself like some male characters we are used to reading about. You know the cocky, player type. I tire at reading about them sometimes. But not Cole, nope, he was actually a great guy that knows what he wants. And when he has found something he loves, he will do anything to hang on to it. Whether it be baseball, family, or a special someone.
Everly is about as sweet as they come. Poor girl has been put through so much hell in her short life and has come out on top. She is nearly done with her schooling and has no social life to speak of. But she has sacrificed much in order to help out a grandfather that has always been there for her when her real father wasn’t. If anyone deserves some happiness it is her.

I’m going to be brutally honest up front, I tend to struggle with books that are labeled “New Adult,” because most of the time they are just ehhh – to down-right horrible…IMHO it is a reason for an author to take a book that would normally be marked as YA, add some sex and some angst to it and market it to a different sub-set of people (or maybe the same, since lots of YA readers also read adult and also read this New Adult)…but yeah, I struggle with it being defined as a genre (which is really isn’t…adult (in terms of reading level isn’t a genre); YA isn’t a genre and neither, in my mind is New Adult…) – but that is a story for another day.
I gave For Everly 2.5 stars overall, which to me means it was ok, not really good and definitely not great – I finished it. My main issue with the book was with Everly herself. I just struggled with her as a character – she seemed too perfect – major trauma in her life (don’t worry, I won’t say what it is), graduated high school early, worked her way through college and now at the tender age of 22/23 is finishing up her PhD in Physical Therapy (which by the way is a DPT or DPhysio, not a PhD)…right there, that was almost a stopping point for me…see, I am a PhD student – it might not be in physical therapy – but I had a hard time seeing someone her age in a program and that far advanced – most 22 year olds are just finishing college (assuming that they start at 18). And the programs themselves are typically 3-4 years on top of that, which would put her even being generous and assuming no break in education in the 24-27 year range (factoring in early graduation from college, and 3 years in a program) – I know this might be nit-picky, but it just rubbed me the wrong way. Almost as much as her agreeing to practice her therapies off the books and unlicensed…which was the main point behind the story…I guess in order for the story to work, this had to be done, but the ethical side of me is screaming no no no…heck, as a PhD student, I am not even allowed to mention that in a resume because people may be confused and think I have my degree already and yet she is practicing without a license)…
And then there is Cole…the baseball player – I mean, what’s not to love…and yes, I get that being injured and in the year your contract is supposed to expire would suck – but why would you risk your career on someone not qualified to treat you…asking the question – What if something had happened and he could no longer play because he used an unqualified therapist…and a very slight gripe – I really hate it when authors use REAL teams in their stories – because anyone that is a fan of said team (or even if they are not) can easily call BS…I would prefer for authors to make up their own teams – use a known location, but imaginary team please)
However, for my griping, the writing style wasn’t bad and the mystery was paletable – I kind of wondered the who done it and figured it out a chapter or so before the reveal – but the whole family situation/angst thing was a bit overdone for my liking (and yet another sign of the stereotypical New Adult storyline). I wish I had liked it more because I do think that the author has potential with her writing style – this book just didn’t do it for me…

For Everly, it’s like a dream come true.
She spent her adolescence working and studying. She’s never dated or even kissed a boy. She’s now in her twenties working on her doctorate and taking care of her ill grandfather. She has a signed poster of Cole Parker above her bed and she’s a HUGE baseball fan. When her mentor introduces her to his brother, the Cole Parker, she’s ecstatic. They become friends but he wants to be more. She’s not sure if his intentions are sincere. She’s never taken a risk with her heart before, but this man is very hard to resist, and she’s ready to start “living her life.”
Cole is looking for something genuine. He’s thinking that Everly might be it for him. Will Cole be able to prove to Everly that he’s for real?
“I’m doing this for the most important reason there is,” he answered, his voice as soft as his caress. “I’m doing this for you.”
Not only is this a sweet romance between Everly and Cole, but there is an element of mystery and danger as well. Everly has a tragic past and a deceitful father. Cole has a few jealous and conniving exes. Their relationship is threatened and tested.
As a leading man, I thought Cole was really quite lovely. Charming, supportive, caring, patient, and of course, SMOKIN’ HOT! I LOVED the scene when they shot the underwear ad…
I thought Everly was an endearing heroine. Even though she was a grown woman, her feelings and experiences were that of an innocent awkward adolescent. She wasn’t annoying or overly dramatic. She was just a really great girl, like someone you’d want your son or brother to end up with. Her feelings for Cole transitioned from fangirlish awe to lust, and eventually , to love (not “insta-love”).
I liked how both characters met each challenge head-on and really listened to each other. I loved how their relationship developed slowly and realistically. I enjoyed this story from beginning to end. I will definitely read more books by Raine Thomas!

When pro baseball player Cole Parker starts self-medicating with booze to treat his secret injury, he never expected therapy would come with in the form of redhead-bombshell, Everly Wallace. But Everly is unlike most girls that Cole interacts with. For starters, she doesn't throw herself at him. Despite being a huge fan of Cole's, Everly is a very guarded person. When she is not working her butt off to pay for her grandfather's medical bills, she has her nose in the books. Everly is smart, hardworking, and carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. As Cole's therapy progresses, and Everly starts to drop her guard, their simple business arrangement turns into something more.
But there are secrets from Everly's past that not only threaten Cole's career, and their relationship, but possibly her life.
I have to say that I was really impressed by this book. One reason was the progression of Cole and Everly's relationship. Sure, there was attraction but it wasn't the main component.
I also enjoyed the fact that I wasn't forced to read description after description about how sexy and attractive the characters are. I feel like so many books feel the NEED to tell me just how beautiful the hero/heroine are. It's unnecessary and after a while is just plain annoying.
Not only was there plenty of romantic tension, but suspense that kept me rooted in my reading nook from start to finish.
If your looking for a book that has likeable characters, interesting plot twists, and plenty of action to keep you on your toes, then For Everly is the book for you!

My Review:
So, Raine Thomas is known for writing Young Adult novels that tend fall under the paranormal romance genre. When I heard she was writing a New Adult romance that was realistic fiction, I became really curious. I wondered how that transition would go. And I'm here to inform you all that it went extremely well. For Everly is a book that is jam-packed with romance, intrigue, and great character development. I always felt like I was seeing a movie. There is never a dull moment in this book.
What shines in this book, to me, is the characterization. The characters in this book are extremely well thought out and layered. Our female lead, Everly, is a girl in her early 20s who is not only studying but has a tremendous amount of responsibility as the caretaker for her ailing grandfather. Cole, our male lead, is a pitcher in the Major League with a lot of wealth and fame, who is also in his early 20s. As different as these characters are in terms of background and personality, they both face the same dilemma which is: trust issues. Through each other, they learn to overcome these issues. Granted, Everly has a much darker past than Cole. Cole had a great upbringing and great family. Everly didn't. Because of this, she always keeps people at arm's length. She has been hurt too much. Cole on the other hand struggles with the issues that all famous people deal with: Is this person who is approaching me doing it for me or do they want to get something out of knowing me because of my fame?
What I loved about Everly, the female lead of this book, is just how real she was. She tackles on so much and I think many people could relate to her struggles because there are many young people out there with really tough lives. Through her journey and story, we get to learn more about topics such as depression, suicide, post traumatic stress disorder, stress, stalking, emotional abuse, abandonment, and poverty. It was not only enlightening, but so interesting. Furthermore, what was really a highlight of the novel, was seeing Cole, the male lead, learning to deal with these issues that are so foreign to his life as he got to know Everly.
As challenging as the topics are in this novel, it also has a very light hearted feel to it because both main characters are really good people who desire to live the best life possible. Cole especially helps Everly a lot in breaking out of her shell. She is so stuck on solving problems, she forgets to be young.
The romance in this novel is not only really cute, but intense as well. This is a new adult novel, so both main characters are in their early 20s and there is definitely mature content in this book. In my opinion, I thought that all of the scenes that were relevant to sex were tastefully done. Some New Adult novels tend to get carried away and forget about the literature aspect of the book. Not this one. Eveyrthing in this book is well balanced. The writing is great. The pacing. And the dialogue felt very real and authentic to what people in their early 20s sound like. Oh, and the secondary characters in this novel are awesome. I thought the cast of characters in this book were really well-developed and that they had a lot of layers and charisma.
Oh, and another highlight of this book. The intrigue. The story of the main character, Everly, unravels throughout the book. The reader doesn't get everything upfront. That was really a nice touch. Oh, and the villains in this book. Were so manipulative and deceitful. All I can say, is that there was this one scene that reminded me of Fatal Attraction. I was surprised at the people that turned out to be the instigators in this story. It was a huge surprise.
Overall, this is an amazing book. It's psychological, romantic, and real. If you are a fan of the New Adult genre, read it. It is good!

Oh, and the secondary characters in this novel are awesome. I thought the cast of characters in this book were really well-developed and that they had a lot of layers and charisma.
Oh, and another highlight of this book. The intrigue. The story of the main character, Everly, unravels throughout the book. The reader doesn't get everything upfront. That was really a nice touch. Oh, and the villains in this book. Were so manipulative and deceitful. All I can say, is that there was this one scene that reminded me of Fatal Attraction. I was surprised at the people that turned out to be the instigators in this story. It was a huge surprise.
Overall, this is an amazing book. It's psychological, romantic, and real. If you are a fan of the New Adult genre, read it. It is good!

I remember my YA addicted friends recommended me books by Raine Thomas ages ago, because of the flawless way she can captivate readers and mesmerize them with interesting and unique storylines. Now, I’m a little bit sorry I haven’t acted on their recommendation while looking for great books to read, cause For Everly is quite amazing New Adult contemporary, which makes me wonder if her YA paranormal is as good as this one hidden little gem! I’m on Goodreads every day and unfortunately I have never seen For Everly to pop out. And it’s a shame! People should give this book and author a chance!

At first I thought I wouldn’t be able to read it, because I hate reading in third person point of view, usually I cannot connect with characters and I DNF a book, without giving it a proper chance. So I was struggling with decision if I should or should not read few pages more. Fortunately after reading two or three chapters I stopped worrying about writing and started enjoying myself.
I really adored characters, which were perfected to almost every detail. Plot was extraordinary and not in ‘bad boy meets a good girl’ scheme, which was a nice touch.
Overall, For Everly is a pleasant read for all New Adults Romance addict.

I finally got a chance to read this book and I was smitten with it from the very beginning.
Cole the gorgeous MLB player with a potential career ending injury needs treatment but he also needs it to be kept secret.
Thankfully his brother knows just the person to help Cole and who could also use the job.
Everly was a sweet innocent, has already lived a hard life girl and who just wants to take care of her grandpa.
Everly and Cole make a deal to secretly treat his shoulder but under the guise of dating.
For Cole his priority is baseball. Well it was until he gets to know Everly.
The two of them finally stop fighting there feelings and give it a go but it's not easy with different pressures on them.
Then there relationship is tested in many ways but after the shock factor of truth they fight for what is important which is love and happiness.
This book was funny, wholesome, drama filled and sweet.

For Everyly is an exciting NA Contemporary Romance full of twists and SWOON worthy moments. I had heard a lot of great things about Raine Thomas' writing so when I heard she was writing a book in my favorite genre, I got super excited! People weren't lying Raine is amazing. I loved her writing and didn't put For Everly down at all.
Everly and Cole have quite a unique relationship. Cole is a pro baseball player and Everly is a poor college student with a hard past. As you can read from the synopsis, they come together because Cole needs some off the record physical therapy and Everly, a physical therapy student, really needs the money. Their deal seems perfect as long as they can keep it a secret.
I loved the connection between Cole and Everly. They come from such different life styles but they work together so well. The sexual tension is just awesome. Everly never backs down and even though she is completely star-struck by Cole, she always gives him a run for his money. Everly is a challenge and I'm pretty sure Cole loves that about her. They are so sweet together and really bring out the best in each other. Cole is definitely book boyfriend material!
The plot was great and at some points unexpected. They run into some problems with the past. Cole with his ex and Everly with her father not to mention they are keeping a secret that could ruin both of their careers. All these factors kept me turing the pages.
Overall I really loved For Everly and would recommend it to the NA lovers out there. It's a great addition to the genre! A solid 5 Stars for me.

I really liked this book... it was definitely better than I expected!
For Everly is about baseball player Cole Parker and PT student Everly Wallace. Cole Parker is having trouble with his pitching shoulder and needs to fix it out of the public eye so that he can resume his professional baseball career. His brother, Wyatt, is a professor who happens to teach Everly, and believes she'd be the perfect person to help Cole get better. She lives with her health challenged grandfather, and could use the money to pay the bills. They would have to pose as a couple so that his PT can be kept secret. You can only guess what happens to their relationship while 'pretending' to be together.
Everly and Cole begin to fall for each other, but Everly is holding back secrets that continue to devastate her. On top of that, she has a father that made me cringe. Cole also has a problem in the form of a bitter ex-girlfriend who wants him back. All of these things seem to conspire to try and keep these two apart... but it was great to see them stick together.
I really enjoyed this and it was a quick, fast paced read. Raine Thomas is an author I will definitely be checking out in the future.

Such a beautiful story. Cole and Everly were the cutest couple!!! Seriously, I've had great luck with books lately. This was just perfect! I didn't want this story to end. I want more Cole and Everly. And Jaws. Haha that was friggin' adorable.

From the very beginning of this book, I was hooked and was done reading it in about a day and a half! Yes, it was that good!
Everly Wallace is a medical student with a lot on her plate. She works part time, goes to medical school and takes care of her grandfather. Also, there is the constant pressure of having enough money to pay the bills every month. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she meets Cole Parker, the famous baseball star. She's surprised to see he's the little brother of her professor Wyatt Parker.
When he personally asks her to help him with his shoulder injury, she's unsure of first. Although she's a huge fan of Cole's, she doesn't think she can do the job. He quickly changes her mind, making it impossible for her to refuse. Even though she can't tell anyone she's working with him, she's excited about the experience it will give her for the future.
Cole, at first believe his brother is crazy for suggesting Everly help him. How can a student know what is wrong with him? She soon proves that she knows exactly what she's talking about, and that his brother had been right to recommend her.
Once they start working together, the attraction that Cole felt when he first met her begins to grow. Everly finds herself enjoying working with the baseball player, and starts to feel the first stirs of attraction herself. She's scared at first, because there are things from her past she doesn't want Cole knowing; things that would ruin any blossoming relationship.
Soon, Everly starts having some issues. Someone is out to hurt her, and she can't think of who would want to harm her. Cole has his suspicions, and is angry it would be taken so far.
Soon he finds himself doubting Everly, and he's unsure of their future. He's starting to hear things that make him second guess everything they've built. Everly knows something is wrong, and tries to get things back on track. Unfortunately, there are things put in place to rip them apart.
Cole is horrified once he finds out the truth behind what has been happening to Everly. He never thought it would taken that far. He loves Everly more then anything, and would do anything to protect her.
I honestly loved this book, and am fighting right now to not start reading it again!! I loved how Everly was both innocent and strong at the same time. She had a stubborness in her that allowed her to get through the bad things that had been handed to her. She adored her grandfather, and didn't like seeing him struggle for anything.
Now there was Cole Parker.
He's the superstar pitcher for Atlanta, and is terrified about anyone finding out about his injury. He's fascinated when he meets Everly and is instantly protective of her. Cole has his own set of problems. and hates when they start affecting her.
The one person who I absolutely adored was Wyatt Parker! I was very disappointed when I found out he was gay... even asked Raine why he was gay, but... what can I do?? Just because he is quite yummy... I loved how he took care of his brother, and stood behind Everly and supported her when she desperately needed it.

First I have to say that I absolutely LOVED LOVED For Everly. Raine Thomas is an amazing author and she writes so flawlessly that you can't help but fall in love with her characters and their story. When I found out Raine was going to writing in the NA genre I dam neared died because she is totally awesome sauce in the YA genre. So when I started reading For Everly I was totally BLOWN AWAY by it! I mean I sat in my favorite reading chair and would not get up for nothing I mean nothing until I was done reading it.
For Everly her life is simple, stay focused on her schooling and work hard to pay for her grandfathers medical care. So she works as a waitress and volunteers and she studies hard so she can get her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Then her life is turned upside down when her favorite professor who also happens to be her mentor comes into the restaurant with Atlanta's Major League Pitcher. Lord Everly has a major crush on him and she is literally flipping out but she plays it cool.Then her mentor tells her that they are brothers and that he needs a favor from her. At first Everly is nervous because her mentor is asking her for a favor when she owes him everything because he helped her get the job she has and he helped her get into the Doctorate program.
As her mentor Wyatt tells her what he needs she is both shocked and angered by his proposal for her. At first she says no but then he crush Cole Parker sweet talks her and she agrees to do it because she needs the money to take care of her grandfather. But does Everly truly know what she is getting into? Will it be worth it in the end?Will Everly be able to juggle school, work and Cole?
Cole Parker is Atlanta's Major League Pitcher. He has hurt his arm and he is stressing out because contract year is here and if he is injured he could get traded or worse benched. So he spends his nights drinking the pain away until he gets into a car accident and his brother tells him enough. Wyatt tells him to get his shit together or else he will tell their parents what is going on. Of course Cole freaks out because he wants nothing more than to do what his heart desires most and that is to pitch in Atlanta his home town.
When Wyatt suggests he gets rehab he is totally against it unless it is off the radar because he does not want to be added to the injured list. Then Wyatt agrees and he tells Cole about Everly. When Cole meets Everly he is totally blown away by her but she is tough as nails and he knows he is going to have to work for her trust. As they work together Cole starts to develop feelings for Everly but she is not having it.She has kept her heart locked down and she refuses to budge but Cole is determined to make her his. Will Cole be able to change her mind? Will Cole win her heart? What happens when someone tries to come between them and tries to destroy what Cole is trying to build?
This story is so dam heart wrenching and so full of jealousies that it will have you on the edge of your seat screaming at the book like I did. This is a summer must read on the beach!

I was privileged to receive an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is Ms. Thomas's first contemporary romance book and I must say it was spectacular.
The plot and storyline was very engaging, it keeps you turning pages a losing track of time until you realize that it's either 3 AM or you've finished the book.
Everly was an amazing character. She's had a very difficult past and is living a very difficult life, yet she keeps going, holds her head high and doesn't let anything get her down. You've got admire that about her. She's very generous and kind and is one hell of a brainiac. And to quote one of the characters-Caroline-I'd like to say to Everly " Can I add that I’m in love with your name?".
Cole is such a guy. His personality is so realistic as are his thoughts. But, he's also a really sweet guy. He calls himself out when he knows he did something wrong and doesn't blame anyone else for his mess ups. He also has a killer sense of humor that gets you to fall in love with him whether you like it or not. So before you read this book. Be prepared to fall for this guy.
One of my favourite characters aside from Everly and Cole is Everly's grandfather. Also known as Pee Paw. He's such a sweet person, and even though he's is no shape for it he still does his best to protect Everly and truest to look out for her. I loved him.
Everly and Cole's relationship was a sweet albeit a confusing one. It was hard knowing when they were pretending and when they were being genuine. Although a consolation for that is that I think they were confused too, so we got to see a confusingly adorable relationship from these two.
Alas, every book has it's flaws. They're minor, but there nonetheless.
1- I wished that the minor characters made more appearances in the book. I liked so many characters, but they didn't show again or if they did the appearance was brief and rushed.
2- I still can't get over how the vandalism plotline got dropped for a while before we got the big reveal in the end. Shouldn't Everly and Cole try to figure it before or at least talk about who might be doing it?
3- What was the deal with Everly's father in the end? Was he remorseful for his treatment of his daughter or was there some hidden motive?
4- While the Epilogue was completely awesome and I'm totally in love with it, I think it should have been longer. Plus, I really wanted to know what happened to the vandals and how everything turned out.
Other than that, I absolutely adored this book. You definitely should pick it up!

FOR EVERLY was my first read by author Raine Thomas. It is the story of Everly Wallace and Cole Parker. Everly has had a very hard life. Tragedy hit her family when she was young and her father left them and her mother just couldn't deal with all of that. She became an addict to deal with all the pain and it slowly killed her. She has basically been raised by her grand father, Pee Paw. She also tends to keep people at arms length and has never shared her past with anyone. She is going to school to become a physical therapist and one of her teachers introduces her to his brother, professional baseball player Cole Parker.
Cole had an injured shoulder and it is his contract year. He wants to fix the shoulder but not let anyone know he is injured. His brother, Wyatt comes with the idea of Everly treating Cole and she is scared to death. She has always been a fan of his and isn't sure if she is up to spending so much time alone with Cole. He offers her a ton of money and she really needs it to help with the nurse she hires to help Pee Paw. She agrees and now the fun begins. Everly has many secrets and she is not sharing them with anyone especially Cole. As soon as he meets Everly he becomes very protective of her but not in a smothering kind of way. Slowly but surely he finds them out and while she is sure they are going to change his opinion of her she is wrong. They only strengthen his feelings for her.
I really enjoyed their story and fell in love with Cole almost instantly. Once I started reading, the book flowed very easily for me and I was soon caught up in Everly and Coles' relationship. What's not to love about a naive woman and a hot hunky baseball player? There is romantic tension in FOR EVERLY that at times, will have you laughing out loud. I kept turning the pages because the suspense was killing me. There are unexpected twists and turns and it keeps you interested until the very last page.

His brother, Wyatt comes with the idea of Everly treating Cole and she is scared to death. She has always been a fan of his and isn't sure if she is up to spending so much time alone with Cole. He offers her a ton of money and she really needs it to help with the nurse she hires to help Pee Paw. She agrees and now the fun begins. Everly has many secrets and she is not sharing them with anyone especially Cole. As soon as he meets Everly he becomes very protective of her but not in a smothering kind of way. Slowly but surely he finds them out and while she is sure they are going to change his opinion of her she is wrong. They only strengthen his feelings for her.
I really enjoyed their story and fell in love with Cole almost instantly. Once I started reading, the book flowed very easily for me and I was soon caught up in Everly and Coles' relationship. What's not to love about a naive woman and a hot hunky baseball player? There is romantic tension in FOR EVERLY that at times, will have you laughing out loud. I kept turning the pages because the suspense was killing me. There are unexpected twists and turns and it keeps you interested until the very last page.

I went into this one not expecting much, so I was very surprised when I couldn't turn the page fast enough.
Right from the start I liked Everly, she was so down to earth and lived a normal life. I liked how Everly kept her cool when first presented with Cole. While the job was a bit unconventional, it was the right thing for her to do on so many levels, the least of which was taking care of her Grandfather.
Everly and Cole's relationship at the start was fun, they just got to know each other in their respective roles. As things went on you could tell that things were moving quickly from friendship to more. I did hate how Cole's past came back to cause trouble. I really thought that there would be more trouble from this person, turns out they were just manipulated like everyone else.
When Everly's past came out my heart broke for her, that she had to live through that. I hated that at one point Cole believed the lies about Everly's past, his grovelling to get past his own stupidity was a good thing. I was a bit worried that the same situation was about to happen again at the end, but this time Cole knew who he could trust.
The ending to this one was perfect!

Everly Wallace has done everything she can to move past her traumatic past, she is beginning to see the light at the beginning of the tunnel when she is introduced to major league pitcher Cole Parker. Everly is such a good person. After suffering things as a child that most people never do, she still works so hard and takes care of her grandfather. She just needs a few good breaks! Cole has been having an issue with his pitching shoulder, but can’t seek professional help or have the treatment on his record. So his brother, a doctor, arranges for Cole to meeting Everly, the top student in the physical therapy department. I loved the development of their romance. It was very sweet! I also liked the little bit of mystery that this story had. I was definitely surprised by the ending! I plan on reading this book again and I highly recommend you read it too!

Raine Thomas writes in a way that I'll never be able to... Her writing is clean and perfect, and she pulls you in and guides you through the story. I love everything that she's written, and am always excited when she has something new coming out.
As a lover of contemporary romance, For Everly was a perfect read. I love Cole, hot, successful, and arrogant enough to make him sexy, without being a jerk. I also love Everly, an independent, caring, and sweet person. I loved the twists in the story, as well as the budding romance, and was satisfied with every word Raine wrote. I don't want to give away anything about the story, so I will just end by saying that I am a forever fan of Raine Thomas's.

I loved this book! It was very well written and the story was well developed. And I adored Everly and Cole's characters. Everly had a rough life. But she was determined to make something of herself. She's a year away from getting her doctorate of physical therapy at the age of 22. She's brilliant. And her mentor just happens to be the brother of a big shot MLB pitcher who is in need of PT treatment. But said treatments must be kept on the down low. Everly and Cole instantly become great friends and that friendship quickly becomes more. Little do they know that someone is out to sabotage their relationship and their well being.
This book has a great combination of romance, suspense and emotion. Raine Thomas did a great job!

Absolutely loved this read both Everly and Cole were strong characters and the way their relationship grew was so natural but exciting. Great story with up and downs, romance and humour. Would recommend to everyone.

I really enjoyed this book.
The chemistry and the sexy times between H and h was awesome!
The storyline, (although kinda been told before) was great.
It had everything you wanted, secrets, angst, drama, sex, laughs, swoons and sighs.

Have you ever read a book and thought yeah its okay and then BOOM something happens and you can't put it down and stay up faaarrr to late and wake up faaarrr too early to be considered human? you kind of look like this...
Yeah that is me. Like literally I am not joking. I LOVE THIS BOOK. At first I was like its okay I mean you know like every love story there are twists, turns, but I swear I hit a certain point in this book and I was like say WHAT??? ummmm wait is this still the same book? did Raine Thomas just give me a new book within a book, am I crazy?
No I am not. I think for me its hard to get into books when the beginning doesn't grab my attention. SO I THOUGHT. lets just say I felt the same way with The Sea of Tranquility and The Edge of Never and those 2 books make my top 10 of ALL time books. I can be wrong.
I know, I am hardly ever wrong but I can totes admit when I am. So yes I WAS WRONG. This book rocks. Now you are probs like this chick is effing insane. I think she needs more sleep becuz shes rambling... I can give you that but my ramblings will lead into what you all want and that my friends is what this book is all about.

Everly has a past as I am sure we all do but she keeps a her distance from others as a form of protection. When you read the story you will see why. now what? this all sounds the same right like every book out there lately....Yeah I hear ya. I felt that way too. Then, as I continued to read I got it, it hit me and it hit hard! I think I am taken back by the refreshing way Raine Thomas built up this story. Its not instant love NOPE...
They actually take their time, feelings develop but they are friends, the undertone was perfect. It wasn't all ooh I see you lets go have sex and be together forever crap. It was like I don't know how to describe it other than the pace of everything was PERFECT! yes it is a love story, yes she is hot and so is he, and yes it has twists and turns I mean I would doubt I would have finished or reviewed the book had it not BUT like I said there is passion with out all the physical touching. A look that can stir my emotions and I can feel what the characters are trying to convey. That my friends is truly an awesome way to write a book. The fact that at first I just truly thought it was going to be like every other book with a HEA, and then made me change my mind. THAT all in itself is hard to do. Raine Thomas was able to do those things to me. THe book has its fun moments...super heros are awesome.

INITIAL THOUGHTS
Truthfully I was a little unsure as to whether I would get along with this book as lately I tend not to read much of this genre. that however changed when I began reading. The first impressions I have of the main characters are that Everly has had a rough time in life but is a hardworking sensitive woman. Cole is a player as well as a ball player! Used to everything he ever wanted being there at hand for him, definitely used to getting his own way and having women fall at his feet in admiration. Having said that about him I can't help but kind like the guy!

I received an e-copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. One of the reasons I requested this book was as I had read Defy,First Born Bk#1 and really loved that, though that book is paranormal and this one is New Adult, so different genres. The cover I'd say depicts Everly and Cole. Though I'd say that the cover doesn't show Everly's innocence as much as it could The look on the models on the covers face is more challenging than I think Everly's would ever be. The model representing Cole is not as gorgeous as I imagined Cole to be or as muscly looking but I suppose that is personal opinion/imagination/imagery. So would the cover of this book make me pick up from a bookstore shelf? Being totally honest . . no. Even when reading the blurb I would be in two minds. I'd say totally honestly I read this book as I like how the author Raine Thomas writes, and that was one of the main reasons I wanted to give the book a go. As well as the fact I wanted to try reading more of the New Adult genre. I do have to say I certainly did not regret choosing to read the book I really liked it a lot!
So I already explained in my initial thought what I had thought to the main characters in the beginning. There are quite a few characters in this book, such as the father of Everly, Mason who turns up when he realises his daughter is making money and perhaps he can get some of it from her.
What starts out of as a secret business arrangement done through a good friend Wyatt, ends up with Everly (Wyatts friend from work and his partner Rowan's employee) and Wyatt's brother Cole (the injured pitcher who doesn't want the world to know he is injured as it could end his career) starting a fake romance.
Everly and Cole come from totally different background. Everly is a hard working, has to account for every penny coming into her home and going out. Everly is training to be a Physical Therapist, so studying and volunteering and rehab gyms as well as working as a waitress in Rowan's restaurant.
Cole has had a more privileged up bringing, is a famous baseball player with plenty of money.
The fake romance is to explain Everly's presence in Cole's life and home. However as time progresses the baseball player begins to see the brilliant qualities that Everly has in comparison to his former girlfriends and actually ends up falling for her. The path for their love is not a straight forward one. Someone seems to be stalking Everly, beginning with slashing her tires and then she is attacked with a baseball bat and put in hospital. It's whilst she is hospital that Cole hears that Everly has many remodeled injuries which means she has broken many bones and had mulitple injuries before. Everly is a quiet reserved person and has not discussed her private earlier life with Cole. Though other people seem determined to drag things up and to try and form a wedge between them. Cole does however learn to trust Everly and is really patient with her and eventually coaxes her to trust in him and tell him her problems and about her earlier life.
I love the characters of Everly and Cole and really love how their relationship develops. I love how his family welcomes Everly and her Grandpa into the fold of their family and immediately like her. I also like the camaraderie of the baseball players within the storyline. They also help to boost Everly's confidence. Though there is still someone trying to set her up and drive a wedge between her and Cole and when you find out who you kind of say oh yes and several clues come to mind and you comprehend who and why the guilty party has been so nasty to Everly. I think Cole handles the situation really well.
This book has friendship, love, tragedy, betrayal, violence and suspense.
So did I enjoy the book? I really did yes, even though I don't read a lot of this genre. Would I recommend the book? I've already recommended it to my mum as I think she will enjoy the story. Would I read a BK#2? How this book ends doesn't seem as though there will be a BK#1. Would I read more books by Raine Thomas? As I've read Defy I have read other books by Raine, though I do definitely intend to read more.
As you can only give full stars I had to go for 4/5 but if I could it would be 4.5/5 Stars.

Let me just say this book is amazingly touching and it complete sucked me in.
Everly, I fell in love with her character she is the perfect Heroine.
Everly is a young women with the world on her pretty little shoulders; a past filled with tragedy, lost, neglect and betrayal. Her academic and professional future shines bright, she consumes herself with her education earning her a doctorate in Physical Theory at the young age of 23. She lives with her grandfather "pew Paw" and had to became his care giver at an early age, whiles working to maintain the roof over their heads. pretty boring and mundane All hard work and no play or time for herself, that is until she meets the brother of her mentor....Cole Parker.
"In an instant, she was a living, singing, Hallmark card with imaginary birds fluttering around her head. When he leaned even closer and touched his lips to her earlobe, she almost sank to the floor"
Cole, Cole, Cole, is their a more wonderful tender kind hearted man?!?
Cole has been suffering from an injured shoulder in silence for fear that it will ruin this career. After a drunk accident he confides in his older brother Wyett and ask for this help to find a doctor to treat him secretly. Problem is doctors work crazy long hour and he does not want to put any of his fellow doctors in that compromising position.....so the next best thing or what Cole will come to realize as "The Best Thing" Everly Wallace.
"He grinned. Better now that you're here. It appears you can kiss my aches and pains away"~Cole
He is an absolute sweetheart.
"For a moment, he just held her gaze. This was her first real kiss. He wanted it to be perfect for her."
Everly Has followed baseball her entire life; she she knows exactly who Cole Parker is and she has been crushing on him for years. So when the opportunity appoints itself for her to work with him....what did she do?!? Turn him down of course....that is until he made her an offer she could not refuse.
Her reaction to him was very intense and immediate. Whiles he was intrigued and drawn to her in inexplicable ways.
This is set to be an interesting working relationship. And indeed it was. It's funny how love always seems to blossom when it's the furthest thing from your mind.
"When she started to jerk back, he held her in place. Then he responded, turning the kiss into a melt-your-legs-off sizzler with just a few brushes of his lips against hers."
The love and relationship between the two just came alive from the pages, the growth, Progression, doubt, and the evolving process was all clear to be seen.
There relationship was not rushed it was steady and felt natural.
"Feeling like he'd just been awarded the championship ring, he finally sated her. She was every bit as Divine as he'd anticipated. Sweet. Sultry. Addicting."
However As we all know love and relationships are not always easy, especially when the feelings are intense and new, fear and venerability can make people do and say things in the heat of the moment.
"He thought back again of Everly at the restaurant. He though about how her face lit up when she saw him. Then paled when he started hurling accusation at her. He could only imagine the pain he'd brought to her that evening."~Cole
It is your typical boy meet girl story, but this has so much more, that will leave you breathless; praying for healing. understanding and a HEA for Cole and Everley.

Then you have all the twist and attacks that was absolutely gut wrenching. The end was beautiful the power of love and redemption flowed in abundance.
This is a very good five star read. The book started slow introducing all the main players getting you to fall in love with then and before long it's 5am in the morning and I'm wondering when did time escaped me like that then I checked, how much percent I had left to read I was over 80% which was crazy considering I only started around 1am.
I did not even realize just how much this book had sucked me in. All I wanted was to get to the end of their story. I simply could not put this book down.
What made this book so great was the character development and the layered plot. Totally brilliant. You get to see where the characters started their individual development inked perfectly until the end you experience matured grown characters.
The plot build to several climaxes giving that layered extended intensity that keep me awake until i read the very last page.
I have a few books by Raine Thomas which are a different genre, so I had no clue what to expect. In my opinion she hit a home run.
I highly recommend this book. When I finished I had big smile one my face and I guarantee that you will also.

Problem is doctors work crazy long hour and he does not want to put any of his fellow doctors in that compromising position.....so the next best thing or what Cole will come to realize as "The Best Thing" Everly Wallace.

Her reaction to him was very intense and immediate. Whiles he was intrigued and drawn to her in inexplicable ways.
This is set to be an interesting working relationship. And indeed it was. It's funny how love always seems to blossom when it's the furthest thing from your mind.

The love and relationship between the two just came alive from the pages, the growth, Progression, doubt, and the evolving process was all clear to be seen.
There relationship was not rushed it was steady and felt natural.

However As we all know love and relationships are not always easy, especially when the feelings are intense and new, fear and venerability can make people do and say things in the heat of the moment.

It is your typical boy meet girl story, but this has so much more, that will leave you breathless; praying for healing. understanding and a HEA for Cole and Everley.

Then you have all the twist and attacks that was absolutely gut wrenching. The end was beautiful the power of love and redemption flowed in abundance.
This is a very good five star read. The book started slow introducing all the main players getting you to fall in love with then and before long it's 5am in the morning and I'm wondering when did time escaped me like that then I checked, how much percent I had left to read I was over 80% which was crazy considering I only started around 1am.
I did not even realize just how much this book had sucked me in. All I wanted was to get to the end of their story. I simply could not put this book down.
What made this book so great was the character development and the layered plot. Totally brilliant. You get to see where the characters started their individual development inked perfectly until the end you experience matured grown characters.
The plot build to several climaxes giving that layered extended intensity that keep me awake until i read the very last page.
I have a few books by Raine Thomas which are a different genre, so I had no clue what to expect. In my opinion she hit a home run.
I highly recommend this book. When I finished I had big smile one my face and I guarantee that you will also.
