This dark, corrupt world threatens to drown me.

While the Institution is fracturing, I am certain of only one thing—the brothers.
They’re mine and I’m theirs. We’re going to survive no matter the cost. I won’t let it be any other way. I can’t…

I’ve learned that it’s adapt or die, and I’m embracing it. For them. For me.
Yet, just when we should be more united than ever, the brothers are breaking apart.

Egos. Schemes. Drugs.

Complications that threaten to poison us all. We should be fighting the world, not each other.
There’s no longer a line I won’t cross to keep them safe. At one point, I thought my only choice was to be a victim or an accomplice.

To save them--to be their hero, I will be the villain.

3.5⭐️ 1.5🌶️

I’m not sure how I fully feel about this. While I know things happened in this book, it felt like we weren’t getting anywhere with the story or deeper into their relationships aside from her and Parker finally coming together. (Which yay and finally she realized that she was in fact being an asshole to him lol)

The communication between everyone is still awful which is odd to me since they spend a majority of time together hiding out or attending meetings. There’s still so many secrets as well.

I’ll actually be super bummed if Matias isn’t part of our harem or is the actual traitor. He’s my favorite but I wasn’t getting any HEA vibes for him with his brothers and Amorette this time. Plus, there’s only one book cover left soooo 🙃

Idk. While I’m looking forward to the finale and seeing how everything comes to a full circle, this just didn’t hit like the other books.

This one was so good. I enjoyed seeing more of the “politics” and “business” side of this world. I also really loved the relationship growing between the brothers. This one did have some really dark themes so just be aware. I’m also so glad her and Parker finally did something. The cliff hanger was crazy.

I’m really mad about this book. The writing and editing are extremely poor and it almost made me DNF. I pushed through because I already made it this far but I was angry about it.

All of the books have typos. This one was just off the hook. Not just typos, but whole sentences repeated back to back like they rewrote the sentence but forgot to delete the old one. Or half a sentence that was deleted and rewrote but repeated exactly what the beginning of the sentence said and really makes the whole sentence so confusing that you make up your own instead so it can make sense to you.

Some parts of the POV are written as a 3rd person but they are talking about themselves (ex: she looked at his eyes and then to my lips - when it should have said MY eyes and then to my lips).

It feels like the characters are in different spots from where they were described to have been. By the time a spicy scene is over, I’m convinced they are just twisted into pretzels because of the way it’s written.

I’ll finish the series because of the commitment I’ve already made, but at this point I don’t even want to.

Matias saves Amorette before the guards complete the kill order his sister Valentina gave. Turns out miss stabby isn’t the one that killed Vincete after all. It was the other lady who came out screaming. Now that the head of the institution is dead there is a power struggle. Matias is the rightful heir who people are a little more willing to listen to than the 4 “bastard” sons. Valentina clearly wants to be leading the institution and it seems she may have been the one to put in the kill order on daddy dearest… it’s not made clear but it looks that way. She keeps trying to discredit them with nasty rumors that adds to the power struggle they are having.

Throughout the book Matias and the 4 brothers struggle to gain leadership control because the power heads do not like them. There’s even a minor struggle with Andres not wanting to play lapdog to Matias like he had to with his father and that he is a control freak. Matias doesn’t want the position and only doing it because he’s trying to do what’s right and he tries to make it clear to everyone that his 4 brothers are his equal in power… eventually Andre sees this in Matias and they have their moment. It’s clear (for me) that Matias is on their side although the has a mystery to him I’m sure we will discover in the next book if Valentina doesn’t kill him (which I hope not).

Things go sideways when Lafe takes matters in his own hands and blows up all his drug warehouses starting a war against the other heads of the institution. Amorette finds out one of the heads has an underage girl that he “purchased” from the gallery that abducted her and she told them she’s going to get her with or without them. The guys fully support her and man what she does to the guy is only a small portion of what he deserves (that sick bastard!!!)… I don’t support violence but when I read stuff like this I feel myself supporting the gray area…. Just saying! The final blow is when Amorette releases gallery girls within the mansion and they imprisoned the head of that part of the faction.

This thwarts the heads to want to retaliate so Matias, Lafe, and Grey stay behind to deal with the heads while Andre, Parker, and Amorette try to find allies to put the heads of the other factions in their place. While at the dirty dog gang and Andre is talking to their leader Javier, Parker and Amorette run into the guy (Randall) that abused and SA Amorette while she was at the warehouse from the first book, he has another girl at knife point and Parker and Amorette take him down and kill him. The dirty dog’s daughter, Rita and Amorette have sort of a female bonding moment… maybe something to look forward to in the next book. Rita and Matias have been having an on and off again relationship and it’s clear she has feelings for him… maybe something to see. Still unclear if Matias and Amorette have a thing for each other… some how I think he just wants to fit in with his brothers but there still seems to be a mystery about him that makes it hard to trust as a reader where that’s going.

Parker and Amorette bond over the fact he killed the guy that SA her and they finally hook up. She was pushing him away so much so I was happy when she finally gave in to her desire for him. Andre comes rushing in saying there’s trouble at the mansion and as they are rushing out the door Parker’s sees a glint of a gun and pushes Amorette and Andre down and he’s shot in the back. Scene switches to the Mansion (Grey’s PoV) and it’s being overtaken. In the middle of the fight Grey, Matias and Lafe are drugged and placed in the basement cells where Grey wakes up with the last words from Valentina being, “Welcome to my institution”.

Welp now I got to wait until January to find out in the final book what happens but the author promises a HEA… eventually. I cannot wait.

This is a RH, why choose. No MM (they are half brothers). Minor group scenes. I hope the next book has more group scenes… but Amorette, Parker, and Andres have to save the others first. At least she wasn’t kidnapped this time… I would have lost my mind. It was nice to see her become
More of a bad ass… more accepting of her role. Being in her head sometimes would get to me and I preferred the guys POV over hers most of the time. Lafe’ head was unstable as well but that’s expected because he was struggling trying to quit drugs and his paranoia was strong. Such a well written series and I loved that the storyline didn’t make me wait other than with Parker and Amorette. Such a nice flow from one event to the next.

Book 4 in a really good series. Vicente is dead and the boys and Mathias are trying to settle the Institution but their proposed changes aren't going over well.

There is still the hit out on Andre from when Vicente put it out on him in the airplane hanger so they are having to be cautious about being out in public. High alert!

Lafe finally gets sick of the drug business. He's an addict and has being saying that he wants to get away from being the head of the drug business but the brothers didn't have another option. Lafe takes things into his own hands and hires his buddies to attack and destroy his warehouses. The drug business is up in the air.

The other leaders aren't happy about the proposed changes. Amorette wants their version of the institution to not have the sex trade/trafficking line of business. The other brothers despise that line but again they are trying to feel their way around. The other leaders are trying to overthrow Mathias but he's the heir and even though he came off a little weak before his dad died he is actually pretty bada**. He's putting up with no nonsense and wants to run the Institution with his half brothers. While the brothers are cautiously trusting him, we still don't know if he's eventually going to screw them over.

The sexual tension between Amorette and Parker finally gets resolved. Thank goodness! It was quick and semi-public but at least they hooked up. We did have to wait until the end of the book for this but hey we are now 4 of 4 (unless you count Mathias then 4 of 5). We end on a cliffhanger. Parker is shot in a drive by at their rival's night club (they were getting with their allies to help them in the war going on in the Institution). He's shot and then we switch over to the mansion. Grey, Lafe and Mathias are waiting for the other leaders to converge on them (they were tipped off by one of the loyal leaders). There is a ruckus and they realize they were sneak attacking. They go to fight. Lafe is injured on the floor after the fight and Grey goes to check on him. Grey wakes up in one of Vicente's prison cells with someone else there (could be Lafe or Sebastian, the loyal leader). Valentina comes in and its clear that she is taking over the Institution. cliffhanger....to be continued

❗️SPOILERS ❗️

🩶 "There was so much black in the world; in this one especially, I could be in the gray to keep those I loved safe. And I wouldn’t lose a wink of sleep over it."
_____________________________________

Damn it! I hate cliff hangers. 😭🤣 Firstly, I barely remember wtf was going on in books 1-3, I wish I did a refresh because my memory is shit. At first it made it hard for me to get into bc I was trying to remember details, and not mix up things with other books (I read to much.) I learned my lesson and I'll do a reread of 1-4 before the last book Traitor, comes out. I hope January comes quickly.

I wouldn't say things were looking up for Amorette and the guys just yet, they are fighting their way to the top and setting fire around them by destroying parts of the institution.

I think Lafe is my favorite and that's because he is so vulnerable and wears his heart on his sleeves. He struggles with drug use, and he also runs the drug side of the institution. He's trying so hard to become clean, and finally opened up to his brothers about needing out, and also why he blew up the warehouses. Which, I love for him. I hope the last book shows him getting clean, he deserves it, and deserves Amorette even if he doesn't believe it. And Finally Amorette and Parker get together, it only took 4 books for these two to work out their shit and get their heads out of their asses. And then he goes and gets shot... I can't deal. I'm on edge because Grey, Lafe and Matias also get kidnapped at the end, like wtf? My heart can't take it. I'm wondering if Matias will be invited in this little Harem especially since he's starting to get a long with his brothers, at least Andre. And the spice is nice, so why not add the 5th Brother? What's another in the grand scheme of things?

The damn cliff hanger! Why didn't they kill Valentina when they had the chance?

⚠️ This series has a lot of triggers including rape, sex trafficking, murder, drugs, etc. Read the trigger list.

I’ve devoured every book in this series with eager anticipation, and while Psycho does move the story forward technically, it didn’t hit quite the same emotional or narrative high points as the earlier books. Things happened… but it didn’t feel like much actually changed.

The biggest relationship shift was finally finally Amorette and Parker coming together. And honestly? It was about time. I’ve been waiting for Amorette to stop being so cold and judgmental toward him, especially since he’s been putting in effort (even if it wasn’t always in the right ways). Their moment gave a glimmer of payoff in a book that felt like it was otherwise circling the same drain.

The communication within this group remains shockingly bad, considering they’re basically living in each other’s pockets, hiding out, attending tense meetings, and watching their backs 24/7. So many secrets are still being kept, and it’s creating more of a drag than suspense at this point. There’s a fine line between slow burn and no burn and this one tiptoed a bit too far toward the latter.

And then there’s Matías. Sigh. One of my absolute favorites, and yet... I can’t tell if he’s being set up as a heartbreaking traitor or a tragic hero. Either way, I didn’t feel any hope for him being part of the harem anymore, and that was genuinely disappointing. The vibe between him, Amorette, and the others felt colder, more disconnected this time around.

While I’m still 100% in for the finale because I need to see how this all wraps up I’ll admit this book didn’t quite deliver the punch I was hoping for. Here’s hoping the next one brings the heat, the answers, and the emotional payoff we’ve all been waiting for.

This book has a lot to do with power. Now that Vincente has been removed, everyone is grasping for as much power as they can get. Everyone within the Institution is looking for an advantage, including their own family. Because in this world power=safety. The brothers seem to have a slight advantage being Vincente's sons (even if they are bastards) and having Matías on their side. Still, they have a lot of enemies from being their fathers enforcers, and once they start doing things their way, they are going to make even more enemies.

And then there is Ammorette, the hero thrown into a world of villains. She once saw the world in black and white, and now she is living in the grey area. In the past, she struggled to survive in the grey. Now, she is not only surviving but thriving. She has gained confidence and taken as much power for herself as she can. She trusts the brothers to have her back. She uses this to her advantage to save as many people as she can. The brothers love this new side of her and enjoy watching her go "psycho" on someone who deserves punishment.

Hopefully, their security isn't just an illusion. They have angered so many people that it is possible to be attacked from all sides. Their world is full of scheming and betrayal, so you never know who is really on top.

This book has to be my least favorite so far. All in all, what really happened here? Things are really feeling stretched out now, more so than ever before... and it was pretty bad before, too.

Editing-wise, I came across some weird issues where a sentence was reworded and then repeated right after the original. I tried examining it to see if maybe I was reading it wrong, but it didn't make sense.

For such a huge, overarching organized crime conglomerate, you'd think that they would have their crap together. The author doesn't seem to convey much organization, to be honest. They seem like they are just stumbling along and happen onto success. It feels like all the brothers really seem to do is reach out to their contacts. That's their whole thing. Then, once they moved into the mansion, it didn't really seem like they did anything, even Matias. It just feels like the whole organization is just bumbling along.

I hope whatever bombshells are dropped in this last book are worth it. These books have been stretched out too much with not enough happening. For a crime cartel, you would think that they would be more active about doing things, rather than just sitting back and letting weeks pass. It's just getting boring.

I will move on to the next book, but I need it to pick up.

BLAKE! I'm obsessed. I'm stunned. I'm impressed. Everything is beginning to make sense. The pieces of this giant puzzle are falling into place. I am SO freaking excited for the next book. I crave more from these brothers-including Matias (we'll see where that goes 😉)

Amorette is one of my favorite fmc's to exist. She started at the top, her moral compass as good as they came. Only for her compass to start spinning as she entered the institution. Her descent into morally questionable behavior has been slow. Nothing happened too quickly, and I appreciate that in a story. There's more to that thought as I piece together a theory-but I won't share anything just yet.

With one player out of the game, a new one rises. When I say my jaw dropped when it became obvious who was behind everything in this book-I was spitting mad. I should have seen it coming! Lafe impressed me most after his continuous struggle with substance abuse. Parker has me wanting to throw my phone at a wall with every interaction. Andre had me wanting to tear up after a few revelations came out. I feel like Grey has been changing ever so slightly in each book. Not nearly as rash in his choices. Matias is still an enigma. I wish I could pinpoint what he truly wants.

Penultimate piece of the puzzle!
There’s a lot going on behind the scenes in this book as the brothers try to figure out how best to get what they want 🙈
After the shock of Vicentes demise and the risk Amorette is now in they have to make quick decisions and trust those who they never would have thought of as allies before 😬 but this also starts to reveal the true snakes amongst the midst and we always knew these weren’t a loving family but yikes 😮
They need to make decisions but with some of the guys going off on their own plans it’s creating more chaos and havoc than what’s needed - there’s a good balance throughout the book of all the brothers coming together but still maintaining their own personalities 😊 and I love that Amorette really begins to realise her boundaries and what she is willing to do for her future with these morally questionable men 😄 their connections and willingness to do what’s needed is going to be put to the test especially after the moves they’ve made to rattle the Institution…looking forward to the last book!

Oh my goodness, what a ride!? And that cliffy, absolutely crazy! But no spoilers, promise. Psycho starts right where Killer left off. Vicente is dead and now all the brothers and Amorette have to figure out how to lead the Institution. And its not easy. While they're figuring out how to work together, some of the brothers are leading their own path. Combine that with the unknown of who actually killed Vicente, and the other heads of the Institution and Valentina not wanting the brothers to lead and there's tons of drama.
We also get to see the brothers lean on Amorette more and that causes some very steamy scenes. When she becomes a prize is particularly memorable. And Parker finally gets his act together. I've been rooting for him since book 1, but he has not made it easy. Thankfully the brothers and Amorette are finally figuring out what they want for each other and from the Institution. You know, just in time for that cliffhanger. Now, where is the final book? Can't wait to find out what happens next!

4⭐️ 4🌶️

Narrative POV: first person person, multi POV
Length: 325p
Reading format: Kindle

Tropes: why choose, cartel, anti-heroes, morally grey MMC x moralistic FMC

📖 We are well underway with this series, so I’m going to try not to give major plot spoilers to earlier books in the series, but tempt you in.
This book picked up right where the last left off, with chaos over a certain death. The guys and Amorette find themselves in a totally new situation, which comes with new challenges. Leaning on each other becomes easier in some ways, but with so many alphas, going rogue to get things done still happens from time to time — whether it causes more mayhem is to be determined! One big step forward for the crew is Amorette’s self-awareness and realization that things are not black and white and that she’s more than willing to step into the grey if it protects her men. The future of the Institution is in their hands, if they can rely on each other and trust the right people.
I’m so looking forward to seeing how Blake wraps this series up in the last book!

What a freaking adrenaline rush that was!! After the way Killer ended, I was on pins and needles wondering what the hell was going to happen now and then when I started Psycho, DAMN! I was so on edge with extreme anxiety waiting for the massacre to happen!

With Vincente gone, one evil and corrupt head has now been destroyed but the rise of others has now begun. Everyone that wants a part of the power that he had comes out of the woodwork and if Matías doesn’t get a handle on things he and his brothers may lose the Institution.

With enemies everywhere, Matías and his brothers have a serious fight on their hands, while keeping Ammorette from being destroyed.

Filled to the brim with heart pounding action and suspense, loads of secrets, chaos and corruption, intense emotional turmoil and drama, and tons of deliciously steamy moments, this is one series that has kept me on tenterhooks waiting for the epic finale to happen!

I can’t wait to find out what happens next!

Psycho by Blake.Blessing is the 4th book in the.series and they only keep getting better.  Amorette has finally found her place with her men and just as she is changing so are her men. As they plot against Vincent and the Institution will they ever be free of threats and able to enjoy one another.

I rated this 5 out of 5 stars.  I love thr characters and were getting more of the men and what makes them tik.  Things are definately heating up the bedrooms and within the Institution.  I love the suspense of just never knowing what is going to happen among the brothers and their enemies. I have a feeling we're going to get even more twists in the final book.  The book is filled with action, suspense, and spice.  It's also dark with some dark themes like human trafficking, drugs, murder it's a cartel what did you expect?  If you like organized crime, reverse harem, and strong fmc in your romance then you need to read Psycho, well actually the whole series.

Since I knew Blake Blessing was coming out with a new series I had this shit to my TBR (the one that I’m actually gonna read) so fast I heard “go lightning McQueen” in the background. Then I waited, and waited for the series to finish. And then I started to binge read, but I had to pause to rant a bit. what is going on???

If it was a new author I wouldn’t even bat an eye, but I read series from Blake. Hell, I reread Astrid Scott not long ago!! It doesn’t feel like the same author. How am I in the 4th book and the “relationships” are this messy? can we even call it a relationship?? It doesn’t feel like a reverse harem, feels more like Grey had a sharing kink, Parker a voyeur one, Andre was bored and Lafe has nice guy syndrome.

And how come they are always a step behind from everyone??? How they managed a leadership position without any capacity to do so??

I hope this gets better, I’m suffering rn. 😭

Every book draws me further into these characters and I love it!!! Amorette’s moral compass has had a struggle the last few books and she finally realized that her new North is much grayer than she ever expected! Amorette’s changes have slowly bled into the brothers and has influenced them to change some as well. Now that she’s decided to embrace her new life, she’s going to help the brothers and will do anything to ensure they’re safe. Andre, Grey, Lafe, and Parker are in a difficult situation with wanting to take over the institution while not allowing any harm to Amorette. Will Matias be the ally he’s been saying he’ll be or will other ties cause him to betray his brothers? That cliffhanger was especially brutal and I can’t wait for Traitor!

Slight spoilers:
I loved the deeper connections expressed and especially loved that everyone is on the same page with Amorette!

Woooooow!!!!
man oh man!
there is a ton of things happening in this book!
This is the fourth book in the series and it starts exactly where book 3 left us.
We see the relationship between Amorette and the brothers evolving and we see the relationship between the brothers and Matias growing.
I feel like Matias is trying to hard and at the same time i get a feeling that i shouldn't trust him as much as i want too.
Vincente is dead and the brothers have a lot to cover in order to make the Institution as it should be.
Amorette is changing and at the same time is fighting for good despite needing to turn a bit bad.
Carnage, love, sex, anger, violence, softness, liberation and a gamut of emotions in this book!
A true roller coaster this book kept me glued to its pages and i have to say that i truly can't wait for the next one!

i seriously have to wait till january to get answers. wtf🫣

i am very very very happy with watching the development of amorette and the brothers plus matais! my heart goes out to him!! but the world is very gray and this series just has a way of making you feel like it’s okay to be gray as long as you stick to your hard lines! some can blur and some can stay strong!🫡

also grey changing and having a little more of a softer spot, like him caring about lafe and all of that! plus both andre and grey opening up about how much amorette knows about them without her knowing is just the cutest thing ever! they say the sweetest things they can in their world and boy does it have me SWOONING🤭

not happy in the slightest! please make the last book the longest book bc too much has happened and we need a lot of answers! WHEN WILL THEY LEARN NOT TO SPLIT UP!! STOP DOING THAT!🫠

Intense!! It was literally an intense story going about in different actions at different points of it. The plot shows that it’s all on shaky ground right now for “THE INSTITUTION” and mostly for the brothers and the ‘little love’. It was scary at the start with all the allegations happening. The planning and plotting were quite interesting and kept me moving forward. And what I waited for most of the time was for the other shoe to drop and finally, it did in the epilogue and now I am very very curious to see what’s coming in the final book. What will the ’killer’ do? She is damm feisty and strong-willed. I really appreciate her character and the way she gets adjusted in all the scenarios. The guys are becoming a good version of themselves around her. I like the advancement in the story.

Seppy's 5 Star Review:

This one starts off where Killer ended. Everything is chaotic, and the brothers are scrambling to be seen as the new leaders of the institution. Amorette and the brothers are not in complete agreement about what is the right way to get complete control and to avoid being anything like their father, Vicente. It is a bumpy ride with people like Valentina challenging them, and their body count is getting bigger as they try to gain complete control. Plus, they are not completely safe themselves. Then bam cliffhanger had me worried about what is next and when will everything calm down?

I really enjoyed this series and can not wait for the next book. I love some Blake Blessing RH, dark, and violent romance.

This book starts off with a bang, and grabs your attention right away!! You won't want to put it down!

Things really heat up in this book. Not only in spice, but action, drama and suspense.
So much happens in this book as well. The brothers are dealing with politics and power and the after because of their fathers death. There are questions of who can be trusted or how things will be handled.

We see a lot of changes in the relationships between the brothers, but also Amorette.
I love Amorette even more in this book. Her personal growth, but also her coming into something she was always meant to be.
I think this was a great addition to the series. I can't wait to see how things play out in book 5, especially after that cliffhanger!!

Omg, Blake sure knows how to end each book on a cliffhanger making you beg for more! I was not originally into the first book…it wasn’t my typical read as far as the darkness of the cartel goes. But I am really loving these characters and how they’re growing. I’m finally starting to like Amorette since she’s standing up for herself more and more, especially in helping the brothers grow and change the institution.

I can’t believe she finally opened up to Parker and now he’s shot?? And three of the others are caged by Valentina?? Now I have to read the next book just so I can see where this is going!! Especially since grace appears to missing now. A small part of me almost believed that grace took Amorette’s place, but I guess I have to keep reading to find out!

Shock and awe...

A twisted tale of finding the grey area in your moral code and living happily with your harem of cartel brothers, who are yours as much as you are theirs.
Unfortunately, it's not that easy at the moment. Amorette is showing the brothers how the Institution will be, but the others heads don't want to comply.
With a war brewing, the brothers split up. (They know better) Major cliffhanger.
Psycho is filled with danger, gore, action, declaration of love and devotion, spice and betrayal. The penultimate book in the series. Please check triggers.
Found family. Mafia/cartel read. Why choose. Brothers. Voyeurism. Exhibitionist. Menage.

Amorette is being accused of killing Vincent’s the leader of the institute. But those under Vincent’s is craving for that lose power. But the children of Vincente’s has a leg up. Mathias, Andre, Grey, Lafe, Parker and their sister Valentina. Now the motive of what happened is still in question, yet Amorette is about to be dealt with, Valentina sees red and believes what she heard. But is it the truth? Here Amorette once wanting her freedom seeks the morally grey area and the boys are there to step side by side with her. I am glad that the author did a recap of the previous book so that we can get a better understanding of the book if we haven’t read the beginning of the series

Blimey this series definitely keeps you on your toes full time!! From start to finish. With Vicente out of the picture its created a massive void in the leadership and now Amorette (FMC) & the brothers are caught up in a power struggle. All manner of underhand people are crawling out of the woodwork trying to seize control of the Institution. Whilst all of this is going on Amorette, the brothers & Matias find a common ground. Looking to each other for a source of strength and reliance. Which all lead up to a jaw droppingly brilliant cliff-hanger ending. I'm counting down the days until the next book now.

Ugh this series is killing me and Blake with her cliffhangers arrgh. Just when you think thing's might be calming down and the brother's are getting it together there's always another snake waiting to slither in and pull the rug out from everyone. Now that daddy dearest is dead there's a struggle of who should run the Institute. Matias doesn't want it but has lil choice his half brother's want it but no one will deal with them then there's Valentina she's blood thirsty but she's a woman so she's only fooling herself. It's every man for himself, and the way this book ended on a cliffhanger I need the final book to find out what's going to happen.
