Fuck yeah, I loved this book! Hollywood glamour meets fucking hot cowboys. Right up my kink ally! The blurb pulled me right in and that was all it took. I was hooked. Texas Pride was angst ridden, heartbreaking at times, passionate and incredibly romantic. I absolutely feel in love with both two time Academy Award winner, MC Austin and Ranch owner and cowboy, MC Kitt. Both had a shitload of hurdles to jump over to get to their HEA, but what a HEA it was! Rainbows and puppies and sunshine and roses! *sigh*
Oh, and how about that cover? Damn! Here is a close-up for those that would like to examine further.
Do you like hot cowboys, Hollywood glamour boys in the closet, romance, suspense, hot sex, passion and angst? Well, I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND Texas Pride to you. It's up on my fuck yeah 5+ stars shelf. I can't wait to forget it so I can read it again.

Texas Pride is a stand alone, M/M cowboy romance by Kindle Alexander. I’ve been wanting to read this for so long and wow! I loved it so much. I wish I hadn’t taken so long to finally get to this.
Austin Grainger is thirty two years old and is a world wide Academy Award winning mega movie star. He’s had it with his life, with the constant pursuit of the paparazzi, the lack of privacy, and the inability to live his life the way he wants to live it, as a gay man. Austin keeps his secret hidden from the world. But he’s done with this life. He is retiring. He bought a ranch in the small Texas community where he grew up and wants to live in seclusion, hoping in time the public will lose interest in him. One thing Austin hadn’t counted on was the sexy cowboy who owned the adjoining ranch.
Kitt Kelly is twenty eight years old. After the death of his father, he took over running the family ranch, trying to pull his family out of debt after the mismanagement of his dad. Kitt has always been gay but not one person knows except his occasional hook up over in Dallas. Kitt has worked so hard to establish respect in the farming community. If anyone found out, he would be finished.

Austin and Kitt actually knew of each other in high school, Austin being three grades ahead of Kitt. But they both definitely noticed one another and carried their fantasies over the years. I loved these two. I loved the way they found their missing pieces in each other. And I loved seeing the way they finally glimpsed how their reality could really be if they just gave in. The ending was surprisingly intense! This is a sexy, sweet story of love and finding your one. These are true, horse riding, cattle tending cowboys that work hard and love hard. My favorite kind of love story.

Did a re-read of this little diddy...in support of my friend and all (thank you Aksana) that hadn't read it. That's just the kind of friend I am! :)
Just as good the second time. I might have noticed the cheese-factor a bit more. But I've come to expect this with Kindle Alexander....especially in her earlier stuff!
Still she brings a HOT read, with just enough drama and angst to keep things interesting.
She's definitely an auto-buy author for me!

One of the best M/M books I've ever read! Loved Kitt and Austin so HARD!
Austin is a movie star. He's tired of being photographed and followed.....tired of the questions, tired of the gossip. So...he retires to Texas where he grew up. Hoping for anonymity and peace and quiet and just maybe LOVE.
Kitt just happens to be Austin's neighbor and the owner of the land that was sold to Austin. Kitt took over the farm after his father dies and has been struggling ever since, having to also care for his step-mom and sisters.
Kitt has kept the fact that he is gay a secret from everyone--his friends, his family, which made for a lonely life for Kitt. His only "relationship" since college has been with Sean--who lives several hours from Kitt. Sean wants more but Kitt just doesn't ever see LOVE in his future.
Austin and Kitt meet and there are absolutely NO sparks flying. Kitt was angry. At this point, neither one knows the other is gay. But once Austin finds out--it's game on. Kitt remains reluctant to forming any type of relationship with Austin. Always fearing that his secret will be revealed and his reputation ruined.
Austin and Kitt were seriously so HOT together. It was pretty much insta-love but I don't even care--I loved them that much. Kitt and Austin struggle with their relationship. Austin finally free of the prying eyes of Hollywood wants to finally live free and be happy and Kitt trying to keep it all hidden away.
Pretty soon Austin and Kitt are forced to address their relationship. Will Kitt run when his secret is threatened to be revealed? Will Austin and Kitt come out stronger? I really loved everything about this story. It just made me so happy and smiley the whole time I was reading it....not to mention WAY hot and bothered!! :)
I'll definitely be checking out more from this author!! Definitely recommend if you're a fan of the M/M genre!!!

4 Stars - a fleeing moviestar and a lonely cowboy - great topic! Very hot and steamy but a really romantic tale too
Although I loved the theme in this novel, with a movie star and a secretive cowboy farmer, I hesitated a long time. In the beginning it was too much thoughts about sex, how they wanted each other etc but every after this became a really good romantic story. It started a bit callous but finally I was caught. I will certainly read more by Ms. Alexander.
This one felt sometimes much more like an ordinary (very steamy) M/F CR novel - though one MC was changed to a man here - than many other M/M romances. There were enemies, dogged reporters, confusion, anxiety, unspoken feelings, prejudices, but also a nice family, nice neighbors, steam in the bedroom (in the car, in the barn on the patio...) and a desire to create a shared future.
Austin Grainger (a huge star from Hollywood) and Kitt Kelly (a Texas ranch owner) are two interesting characters with both fine but also some lesser nice qualities. No supernatural, entirely infallible and always good-hearted heroes here (Thanks for that!). This meant also that it was never overwhelming sugar sweet and too incredibly tacky. Just moderate sweet.
Austin has bought some land in his old childhood countryside. There, he builds now a new ranch for cattle and horses. He is absolutely finished and complete with celebrity life and now hiding behind fences and guards. No one must know that he is there and safety regulations are gigantic. Pretty soon, he's very interested in the owner of the neighboring farm - who does not know who Austin is - yet !
Kitt was perhaps a bit stubborn and recalcitrant too long but I understand him. Do you live in an area where gay men hardly exist at all, you live in the closet and on top of that are your new lover a world renowned threefold Oscars rewarded star - then you're right to be cautious and hesitate.
Austin on the other hand, had lived so long in the celebrity bubble that he still did not understand that everything can not be solved with money and by living behind a huge fence. They both had a lot to work with...
Sure, it might be surreal, too glittering, kind of insta attraction (love?) and too corny at times - but I like that too. An excellent book for a M/M romance lover like me about two handsome, very shapely and always ho~ny men. And of course I got a grand lovely HEA. 280 pages in a paperback with tiny text and I read every single one with joy and waited anxiously for the resolution.
Austin is a movie star and at times this felt like a typical Hollywood script for a grand love soap. As I liked! I want to see that movie - a grand one with two gorgeous blonde film actors in jeans, cowboy hats and nicely tanned with their arms around each other. Yum!

Austin is a movie star in his early thirties. He’s tired of Hollywood, he’s tired of paparazzi, he's tired of all the gossip, so he decides to leave the celebrity world behind. He buys a ranch in Texas, in his hometown where he hopes to find quiet and peace.
Austin have a fiancée, a fake one, because he’s gay, but only a few people know his secret.
Kitt is a 28 years old Texas ranch owner. He’s a hardworking man, taking care of his step-mother and two sisters. Kitt is gay, but nobody knows. He wants to prove he could run the ranch, he wants respect, he doesn’t want to be judged because of his sexuality. However, he has needs so he has a casual relationship, with Sean, a man from other town.
Austin moves next to Kitt, unaware that he knows his new sexy neighbor. They know each other from high school, where both silently crashed on each other. Austin is attracted immediately with Kitt. He wants him bad and he’s determined to make him his no matter what.
Kitt wants and needs to stay away from Austin, he’s attraction for the gorgeous movie star is too strong.
At first, neither of them know the other is gay, but when they find out, they can’t fight their attraction and their connection anymore.
They start a casual relationship, but nobody knows ( at first ) about it, being lovers only at night.
What starts as something casual, soon becomes more...
Will they choose happiness despite the obstacles in their lives?
I really liked this one! There’s no doubt Kindle Alexander is a great storyteller. I liked how the story progressed and how the relationship between Austin and Kitt is slow build. The sweet and emotional moments between them are really great and the funny ones lovely. They are caring with each other, supportive and patient and most of all they are loving. Their connection is strong from the beginning, you can really feel it and their chemistry, fantastic.
Loved the sex scenes between them! They are really hot and very well written.
Austin and Kitt are engaging and well developed characters. They are relatable and real. I really liked them! Kitt frustrated me once or twice, but I really understand his point, so it didn’t matter too much.
There are also some great secondary characters too, almost each one of them playing a role in Austin and Kitt’s story.
The story was predictable and cheesy sometimes, but this time didn’t bother me.
Overall, “Texas Pride” was a good angsty read with an interesting premise, lovable characters and great writing.

This books has been sitting on my kindle forever, and I could kick myself for not reading it sooner. It was definitely hot and sexy, but very sweet at the same time.
Kitt Kelly is pretty much resigned to living a quiet lonely life because he is terrified of what would happen to his family farm/business if it ever came out he is gay. He is worried it would affect his business and he would be difficult for his Stepmom and sisters. So when he sells some of his land, little did he know his life would be turned upside down.
Austin Grainger is one of Hollywood’s biggest stars and “Sexiest Man Alive”, but he is done with that lifestyle and decides to return to the town where he grew up in Texas. Little did he know that he just purchased land from his childhood crush.
These two were absolutely crazy about each other. Although Kitt was a bit hesitant, because he was scared that this was just a phase that Austin was going through, and he would want to return to Hollywood and leave Austin broken.
I loved the way the author was so descriptive, not only with scenery, but with the raw emotions Kitt and Austin were going through. The fear, anger, and an emotion that neither of them had before…love.
Highly recommend!!

I loved the way the author was so descriptive, not only with scenery, but with the raw emotions Kitt and Austin were going through. The fear, anger, and an emotion that neither of them had before…love.

What can I say about this, but how much I loved this book.
Austin is a movie star, tired of the Hollywood. He wants out, he wants peace. Where better to get back to Texas and the town he grew up in. What he finds there is Kit, a rancher that he went to school with... Kit has sold part of his property to Austin unaware that this is the older classmate he had a crush on in high school.
Austin takes one look at Kit and he is determined to make him his.
It's a rocky relationship, but Austin winning Kitt over. Neither man is outed and this leads to more and more complications and more angst...
The loving was hot and tender and just so damn good *sigh*

3.5 stars. This was a fun read, very sexy and entertaining, but also incredibly cheesy.
Starting from Austin seeing Kitt from across the field and instantly being attracted, to both of them having noticed each other in high school and secretly jacked off for years thinking of the other (even though they never spoke back then and are now grown men), to Austin knowing Kitt was gay because of the brand of his underwear he saw peaking from his jeans, this was full of cheese and not very believable.
Oh and the constant hard-ons, whether they are fighting, upset, happy, it doesn't matter, their dicks were always hard. Lots and lots of hot sex, not that I'm complaining about that part.
I had a hard time connecting with them as a couple in the beginning. Austin was very pushy, needy, jealous. Kitt was very standoffish and insecure, and kept pushing Austin away. I felt it was too much too soon. But I rolled with it and ended up really liking them together.
The rest of the plot was just as unbelievable and OTT, the paparazzi, Cara, Cara and Seth, the hacker, Verne. My head was spinning a little at times, while other chapters were a little boring.
I also felt like it was very surface level and lots of elements could have been used to add a little depth. Like it's implied that maybe Kitt's insecurity comes from the abuse he suffered as a child, but this could have been used to dig deeper into Kitt's personality and emotions. Same with the drug and alcohol abuse, we could have gotten a glimpse into Austin's past, the Hollywood lifestyle, but none of it was really explored.
This was my first read by this author, and I realize it's a few years old. I'll be happy to take your recs for other KA books.

I was interested at the beginning, but the more I read, the more disengaged I got. There were too many issues that kept me from enjoying this story. There are many grammatical errors to begin with, and some character inconsistencies that were annoying. For instance, one of the characters is a self-proclaimed bottom and the other one is portrayed as a top. As their story begins the roles were completely reversed. I have nothing against role reversal, but there must be an explanation if as a reader I've been led to believe it’s about personality and not only a fleeting sexual preference. There is also the fact that the main characters acted and thought as stereotyped women . Austin was particularly annoying by becoming so clingy and needy in a matter of a couple of days, which brings me to the insta-love that didn’t work for me at all. Had I been Kitt, I would have run like a bat out of hell had Austin been after me, being a star and all that. All this interest and undying love proclaimed by Austin in less than a week seemed more like stalking. And I don’t even want to mention the corniness going on in this relationship.
I also believe that this story should have been shorter. I skipped a lot of pages in order to get to the end, but at least I was interested enough that I didn’t send it to my dnf shelf and finished it, although I was tempted several times.

I think it's time for me to accept that Kindle Alexander's writing just doesn't work for me. I gave one of her books 4 stars, but everything else has been less than stellar.
The editing was atrocious. There were too many grammatical errors to count, and oddly worded conversations throughout the book. This author isn't always the most diligent, but her work that I've read previously hasn't been this in need of a good edit. I'll assume that it's because this was one of her earlier releases.
That aside, I felt little connection to either Austin or Kitt. Austin came off as a spoiled brat who expected to have his way, while Kitt just seemed desperate for another gay man close enough to screw regularly. The character development, the little there is, comes late in the book, by which point I was skimming.
Which is why I had trouble believing the borderline insta-love romance. Kitt and Austin fall for each other hard and fast. Did they actually fall in love like Disney characters, or were the two deeply closeted men just grateful to have some regular sex? The two had little going for them beyond the sex, so I just couldn't buy their quick romance.
Overall, this book was just okay. The setting and portrayal of ranch life were interesting, but the romance and main characters just fell flat. I don't think I'll be giving this author another try.
I'm giving a bonus point for including Andrew Christian underwear in the story. Because oomph.

Gulp, what a bit of a...let-down.
Let me explain. Kindle Alexander has been amongst my first MM romance writers I read and I enjoyed a lot of her books, back in the days I was not interacting yet on GR. And I do remember having a great time reading this book.
So much that, for a GR challenge, I couldn’t help thinking about a re-read of Texas Pride. Time has passed enough that I remember the storyline but not the details, so I was expecting a satisfying rediscovery.
Austin, a very famous actor, is tired all of the media exposure. He now craves privacy and not hiding his sexuality anymore. He announces his retirement for overlooking a ranch he bought in Texas, where he grew up. There, he meets Kitt, his neighbour and secret teen crush. Kitt is now a full-grown man, focused on reviving the ranch his violent father left him, keeping a very low profile regarding his attraction for men. Taciturn, albeit very reliable, he can’t resist Austin, his well hidden wet dream.
This is a clash in life-style and personalities but damned, what an explosive chemistry and a hot pursuit of Kitt by Austin.
I still enjoy Kindle Alexander’s writing a lot. Great characters – I admit, I’m all for the cliché of a hot and sweaty cow-boy -, nice pace, a bit of angst, hot romance and of course, a great HEA.
However, I cringed a bit about some circumstances and behaviors. Personal tastes, that have obviously evolved since I read this the first time : I don’t like that in RL and don’t want to read about it in my escape world.
4.5 stars for my first time, 3 stars for my second time. No contest though: I still got a great time with the hotness.

This could have been so much better.
Great premise where closeted Hollywood actor meets closeted hunky rancher. Both guys are gorgeous (obviously) fall in love DESPERATELY and attempt to keep the closet firmly bolted from the inside. The writing is engaging but spoiled by shoddy editing.
The characters are well developed and I felt something for Kit; but neither MC's are solid enough in their convictions.
The author defines each MC as Top and bottom from the start; but then decides to switch it with no apparent reasoning. I don't usually care who's the Top and who's not, but you can't set a character up to BE one and then not carry it through without any type of justification. No matter how erotic and desperate the sex is; it just feels unbalance and out of character. The romance reads like a hetero romance story and the author can't seem to make up her mind who the heroine is.
The plot seems to roll with dips and peeks. Each situation quickly resolved with minimal angst ... until the ending - a predictable conclusion I thought.
I can honestly say that I did enjoy much of this story. The Texan setting was a treat and the relationship dynamic between sexy as hell A-list actor and uber-hot cowboy certainly appeals. The threat of discovery for Kit(cowboy)is a very REAL fear, especially living in Texas. The author deals with this aspect admirably ... until the end.
Overall it was okay, but could have been much, much better.

Austin Grainger, a bitter A-list actor ready to leave Hollywood for good; sick and tired of the paparazzi and the constant circus of living under the microscope. Kitt Kelly, a hard-working, salt of the Earth Texas Cowboy; shouldering the responsibility of his father's outdated farm and taking care of his family.
Both men closeted. Both men have secretly wanted each other for years. Austin has just purchased the land next door to Kitt's farm. Ready. Set. Action.
The chemistry between these two was evident from the beginning. LOVE how Austin figured out that Kitt was gay. GENIUS!! If only it really were that easy. My twitchy fingers couldn't read fast enough to get to what was bound to be some amazing sauciness between these two.

Austin came back to life ON the farm. He found peace within himself and what truly made him happy. Kitt discovered that he needed to think OUTSIDE of the farm. To look beyond the fences and his lonely cabin and find the person he wanted to be...the life he wanted to live.
And the sex DID NOT disappoint! It was HOT. It was frenzied. It was passionate. It was borne out of love and understanding and respect and attraction and downright physical need.
What truly made this book stand out is that the farm was like a third character. Kindle Alexander did a fantastic job of painting the image of this beautiful Texas ranch and giving every piece of it life and color. From the pastures to the pond, to the horses and cattle, to the barn and stables. Every little piece was an integral part of the story.
So all this raving and why not five stars? Well, unfortunately this book could use some editing. Grammatical errors and repeated sentences are sprinkled all over the book which ended up being distracting. And a couple of scenes/situations didn't feel authentic or believable. Are any of these things going to stop me from reading more from this author?

There a lot of things going on in this, subplots with family,agents, paparazzi, that add to the texture of the story. The Texas background is so well done, it made me more homesick than I already am.

I must say I really liked this one. Good looking movie star. Good looking Cowboy. Small town living. Big ranch. Fear of gossip, fear of betrayal, fear of loneliness. Loved Austin and Kitt - think I like Kitt a little bit more. His insecurities, the fact that he did not know how good looking he was. Austin had a struggle trying to convince him but it was worth it in the end. Makes me want to move to Texas and find a Cowboy for myself.

Hot cowboy + gorgeous movie star = sizzling romance!
When I started this book I was expecting a fairly standard story with a plot I am sure I have seen before - famous celebrity moves to the country, hiding his identity from most people and falls in love with a hot local guy. But this book surprised me. Yes, the plot does involve Austin (Academy Award winning movie star) buying a ranch and starting a relationship with his neighbour Kitt (ranch owner/cowboy), but it is unique in many ways.
The characters have real substance. They are both gorgeous - Austin with his movie star good looks and Kitt with his handsome cowboy hotness - but both characters have depth. Austin is looking to escape a superficial life and his actions show him to be a caring man. Kitt is a proud man who is supporting his family and an upstanding member of the community.
The book follows Austin and Kitt as they build their relationship while tackling issues that could tear them apart. Austin is living under the shadow of the press finding out about him, hiding from the world, and Kitt is hiding from his own sexuality, determined to never come out due to the impact it would have on the ranch and his family. There are moments of doubt, moments of jealousy, moments of drama and moments of romance.
The story has its fair share of sex (luckily!) but it focuses equally on the emotional and physical. "From the moment their lips touched, Austin felt the connections in his heart..."
There are also some wonderful moments for the romantics with declarations of love
There is also some humour. My favourites are:
"I love watching you back this massive vehicle into this small space. It reminds me of us having sex." I don't think I will ever be able to look at someone parking a car the same way again!
"In what world was it ever okay to have a room full of people sit for hours, stewing in their own greatness? All while they waited to see if they'd won a trophy of a naked man with no dick..."
There were a couple of minor editing problems and the Epilogue was called a Prologue but these were easily overlooked.

I got exactly what I was expecting from this book. A classic romance (some reviews have even said it felt like m/f and I tend to agree) where the closeted actor, Austin, frustrated with his Hollywood existence, leaves the limelight and secludes himself in the town he grew up in. Closeted rancher Kitt, sold part of his land not knowing it was going to Austin. Kitt remembers Austin as his HS crush, a senior to his freshman, who he has continued to fantasize about over the years. The two meet and eventually discover that their attraction is mutual. Of course, just sex grows into more as they find they have more than their closets in common and this leads to a number of obstacles as they come to terms with their growing relationship.
There is nothing that you haven't read in hundreds of romance books before, but I enjoyed both characters and the romance was very hot. This was a nice long read (which I like) that had a little bit of everything from humor to angst and kept me interested the whole way through.

But it just all felt a bit forced or something. Also I tend to avoid books with the 'celebrity' trope as it really isn't a favourite of mine so that might also be the reason this didn't work for me. Why anyone would want to be famous is beyond me.
All that aside, Kitt and Austin were a nice couple and when they were communicating they were fabulous together. It was when anything or anyone from the outside was added that everything tended to go pear-shaped. Sweet and well, cowboys!!
My first Kindle Alexander and I will most definitely be reading another.

When I find myself playing games on my iPad instead of reading in my kindle app, I think that says it all. I was bored. I must’ve read a totally different book than others because that heat that many reviewers talk about?! I have no idea what that was about. Unless it was their very first m/m book and the man on man action felt thrilling or something. I felt zero chemistry between them. I would find myself even skimming the sex scenes because I was so bored. The characters were okay, but I don’t think I ever really connected with them to get emotional about anything. I just felt indifferent about it all tbh. After 3 days and barely 78% complete (which also says a lot for me), I’m calling it quits and putting it on my DNF shelf.

Kitt's a hot gay cowboy who's in the closest. Austin is a hot, super rich actor who wants to pound Kitt's bum. True love? Guess so.
Always with the beautiful rich people in KA books.
Anyway, Kitt's closested and there's lots of him being all "Oh no, I shall never come out" but then he meets Austin and they have lots of sexy and god do they ever talk! They talk about feelings and are quite crazy. Like, Mary Calmes characters level of crazy. Like, "OMG YOU'RE LEAVING FOR 3 DAYS? No. No. I won't allow it. Shan't happen. Forbidden." *character loses mind*
Uh, bro. Settle your shit down.
So then they start fucking and they're like "Lets just fuck but also talk about feelings 24/7." so with all the talk of feelings and the crazy possession and jealousy issues, it OBVIOUSLY blossoms into crazy love. Obviously. But Austin is so rich and is hiding from the press and no one can know he's in Texas because he's so rich and famous (poor Austin! My heart is literally breaking for you and your castle of money in the sky) so it works because Kitt will never come out because farmer's can't be gay! PFffft!
But then with all their talk of feelings and seemingly UNSTOPPABLE dicks (I'm not kidding. How many times can a pair of dicks get hard in a day?) they fall in lurve but then oh no! Some random lesbian that we never met before hops in the story and she has like, I dunno, two chapters of her deadbeat mom and her arguing...? Okay... Moving on... and then because Austin is a weirdo pervert, has a naked secret pic of Kitt and it's leaked to the media so Austin decides to not only out himself but ALSO outs Kitt in the process... to which Kitt is basically like, "WELL OH DARN!" even though the entire book he's like "NO WAY EVER!" but he has Austin now and Austin's magical, gold penis, so life is good, right?
This book is actually charming. My new fav Kindle Alexander book. Hot sex, hot people, some real juicy scenes, and I rather liked Kitt Kelly to be honest. The reason it's 3.5 and not a 4 for me is because it got too gushy and mushy and fluffy and all the god damn talking was getting on my nerves. Some of the shit they'd say to each other was so lame. I think this book could've easily been 60 pages shorter (especially if you cut out the crap about Dunc or whatever).
Overall enjoyable. Filled my current need for a cowboy book. Weee.

When I started reading I thought I found a happy place there on that ranch in Texas in the middle of nowhere. Everything started out very promising. But, to be honest, I expected something more.
It’s not the story’s or the plot’s fault that I didn’t like it as much as I expected. It was the writing I struggled with. On one hand there were never ending repeats of the same sentences and thoughts so I had the feeling the story is not progressing at all. And then everything happens so fast all of a sudden that I almost couldn’t keep up. It was confusing.
There was also a lot of sex involved. Having sex, thinking and fantasising about sex, talking about sex. You could say it was a sex fest. But then the sex scenes weren’t all that great. So I didn’t have at least that *sniff
So all in all. I wanted to love it but I didn’t. I was disappointed.
You know what, no. I won’t push through til the end.

Loved it !! But who wouldn't love a hot cowboy ?? God I love cowboys. Kitt was awesome !! I liked Austin too, but Kitt really did it for me. They were sooo hot together. I would have been more pissed of about the whole picture incident if i was Kitt. But this was true love...so i understand that he caved. Plus the whole public declaration of love was pretty romantic. This story was hot, sweet, romantic and even funny at times. It was low on angst, with the right amount of drama. I really enjoyed reading it. It was exactly what I needed. It's definately going on my favorits list. Wish there were more books like this. 4,5 stars for me. I could have used some more sex (discriptive sex...cause my inner slut demands a lot of details) and I would have liked some more interaction with other people with them as a couple.

From the off set Kit stole my heart. As a lover of m/m romance its nice to be reminded at times that real romance still exists, and this is what Texas Pride delivers. within the pages of this story Kindle Alexander broaches the subject of how hard it can sometimes be to live life when your plagued by other peoples judgemental attitudes. For Austen and Kitt its even harder as Austen's character is such a well known celebrity that's hounded constantly by the dreggs of society, of which Kindle describes perfectly.
The love that blossoms between these two wonderfully masculine men was so real in the way it was wrote that i found myself happily consumed until the very last page. The sex was amazing and flawlessly wrote. The whole Texas cowboy genre has me so hooked.
Thank you Kindle, my ownly down point is that it had to end, i could have very happily read more.

I am conflicted on this one. I loved it, but I hated other parts of it. Austin was my favourite MC. I truly loved him. Kitt, not so much. But I could say I didn't despise him. The story itself was interesting and drew me in to parts of it. After reading this I find myself asking a lot of internal questions.
Was Kitt an ass?
Did I like how he treated Sean and the Austin?
Did Austin deserve how Kitt treated him?
Was the ending satisfying for me?
My answer to those are still a bit fuzzy. This story has a slow pace to it. Don't expect to have a happy couple after the MC's get together. Don't expect a lot of loved up scenes. There were some, but not in the traditional sense.
This is not what I had expected when I picked it up. I knew Kitt wasn't out when I picked it up, but to be as deep in the closet as he was frustrated me. He would get to a certain point and then blow up. It was like watching a helium balloon. I was not sure how he would react to things.
Austin was a brilliant MC. He was so sweet, caring and devoted to Kitt. He never wavered. I expected him to get tired and walk out eventually, but he didn't. I wanted to beg him to leave Kitt sometimes. He deserves so much more than he was given in the beginning.
So overall I would recommend this book. It was not really my thing, but I did like the book. Everyone one else seemed to love it, so maybe it was just me.

Bought this on Sep12 and then forgot about it. Finally found it again:) and today started reading.
At least I only paid 1.99$ for it, but at the point I am right now (14%) even that was too much.
More like 1.5 stars.
So, finished and as you can guess - just look at my status updates:) - nope, I wasn't a fan. Sorry. It felt like paint by numbers, here is the check-list, now I try and write a bestseller, shouldn't be so difficult. Obviously lots of readers liked it, but for me it was totally getting on my nerves. Starting with editing (wrong words, missing letters, missing parts of sentences) and moving on to eye-roll-worthy developments, repetitive dialogues (You will leave, no I won't, I love it here, no you will be bored soon) - all in all I was on the verge of DNF. As there was a discount on ARe I bought another book by this author at the same time I bought this one, but I think to give my nerves a break I'll let that sit on my kindle waiting patiently for, well, for later.
