In a dystopian future we must live in a collective bound by rules that protect us, but can survive only by spending our nights in isolation - in protective layers that cannot be detected, "pods." In this novella, one young woman reflects on what this means to the relationships we build, when a stranger breaks the rules, and she must choose to let him in, or to let him die.

Set in a dystopian future where machines are a menacing foe, this short story sets the stage for what I hope will one day be fleshed out into a full-length novel (or even series!) The characters are interesting & complex, and the story is a fresh take on what has become a popular theme. Definitely worth a read!
