Re-Read Update: Just as good as I remembered :)

Rating: 5/5
*I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.*

...and it's over!

The conclusion to this amazing series was all I could hope for and then some. Such an amazing ending by Janelle. It had everything. Hope, love, sadness. It made me feel that usual bittersweet feeling that I get when I finish a series that has been a part of me for some time. Only the fact that Janelle is writing a spin-off series is kind of a huge plus. I wasn't ready to leave this world behind. I realize now that there is a good reason Epic Fantasy books have usually so many sequels and it's because of the world building. The authors take so much time to create a new world that then it's a part of them and us. And this is exactly what's happening with Eden. Yes, it might be a YA fantasy book, but it has all the great aspects of an Epic Fantasy book. So many battles, an insane villain, all the shades of grey that go along with the sides of war, and so many characters and POVs.

I realize this is not much of a review so far, but this is the end of this series and I do want to rave about all the things I loved before I move on to the next book. And yes, there are spoilers from the previous books below.

Favorite male character: Logan, he is the most fun character, he can bring hope with his words and I adore his for that.
Favorite female character: Elisa, she is so kick-ass yet such a girl sometimes, I can't help but love her.
Favorite couple: Elisa and Wolf, I loved those two from the very first book.
Favorite villain(even though he/she might turn to be good after all): Callum, ok, he isn't much of a super villain, but I also believe that if he hadn't met Rose in the first book, things would have been very different for him, he would have lost himself in his revenge.
Favorite part of Eden(the world not the book): Central Eden, I know that the South is possibly the most beautiful place as all the characters said, and the West is really awesome with the Riders there, but Central Eden and the Capital just feel like home.

Ok, these are some of the parts that I thing I would always love about this book. Let's get back to the actual book now. There are no spoilers of this book below so read ahead.

In the final installment of Eden everything starts amazing, Elisa and Wolf are finally together, the war between Jameson and Callum has ended and their family is brought back together and with no casualties. So, everything is great...except Lily has been kidnapped by a winged man and all Aiden wants is to get her back but has no idea where she is. Even though they know she was taken by Aziz. So, with along with an army they would go to the East to search for her. What they don't know is that's exactly what Aziz wants, for Aiden to come to him in his own free will.

There are a lot of questions answered in this book about Aiden and the world of Eden, things I didn't even know needed an answer come to the surface. Janelle didn't disappoint me though. She twisted and bended the storyline, made my heart race and stop from scene to scene. Amazing storytelling and writing. If you haven't read any of her books yet you have to. Seriously go get the first book of Eden and try not to fall in love with the world she created.

Let me start by saying that I’ve really enjoyed this series and was sad that this is the last book. Unfortunately, this was not my favorite book in the series.

When we last left Aiden and the crew, we knew that this would be the final showdown between Eden and Aziz. Unfortunately it took way too long to get to the final battle. The story focused on Elex and Rain and the new relationship of Wolf and Elisa. I’ve always been a fan of Elisa. But didn’t like this new version of hers. She didn’t feel as carefree and tough as she used to be. Instead, both Rain and Elisa came across to me as too emotionally needy. The journey to find the home of Aziz was dragged out and the agony that Elisa felt at knowing a secret that would change lives was not executed to my liking. I understood that it was no simple matter to reveal but it was unclear why Elisa chose to discover the secret on her own to begin with. She could have easily shared the burden from step one.

I’ve never been a fan of Rain so the scenes between her and Elex were difficult for me. I found it very hard to feel empathy for someone who has always acted selfishly and with so much hatred. I can accept that she came to terms with her mistakes and felt remorse but just felt that the change of heart was too rushed.

Then there is Aiden. I’ve always like sweet Aiden who always strives to do what is right. But again I felt like something was missing here. He acquires some new powers and all this weirdness is happening around him yet he doesn’t really stop and questions why. Sure, he tries to get answers of sorts but overall his reaction to it was nonchalant. I expected the final showdown with Aziz to be epic. While it was good, I blinked, and it was over. Also .

Overall, this tied up most of the loose ends. I will miss the world of Eden and wonder who will make an appearance in the spinoff.

Oh My Goodness. There are seriously no words at all to explain how phenomenal and breathtaking Eden-East was. I have been an enormous fan of the Eden series right from the very beginning and I am incredibly sad and devastated to have seen the end of one of my favourite series. Having said that Janelle Stalder has definitely left the best till last. I always thought that the series got better and better the more I read and Eden-East confirms that. I was completely blew away by this final installment in the series. I loved every single second of it and all I want to do is re-read it.

Aiden and the group are mourning the loss of one of their closest and they know that they must get her back. But to do that they need to rally the troups and go after Aziz. But what they don't know is that Aziz has a secret agenda for getting them near anyway, and he has a secret weapon. The whole of Eden hangs in the balance as the battle against Aziz approaches. But will everyone survive?

Janelle Stalder is officially one of my favourite authors of all time. She is seriously just phenomenal. There is absolutely nothing that she can write that I will not love and obsess over. I just need to yell at her for ending the series. Her world-building is just literally phenomenal and I love the world of Eden so much I am devastated to have to say goodbye to it. Janelle's writing style is so addictive and really has you not just looking in at this adventure through the characters but you become so attached to it, it is like you are really living it.

Eden-East has everything that you could possibly want in a book. There is heart-stopping action and relationships that completely take your breath away. You wil laugh and swoon one minute and be crying hysterically the next. Eden-East took my breath away and broke my heart into a million little pieces and then patched it back up again. This final installment of the phenomenal Eden series is an emotional rollercoaster but it is completely worth it and is really the perfect ending for a perfect series. This is definitely one series I will re-read over and over and over again. I loed absolutely every moment of it.

Janelle Stalder is definitely one author to look out for. I will read every single one of her books without even needing to know what it is about. I adore her and I cannot wait to read whatever it is that she comes up with next.

...............*speechless*................(in a good way)...................

Warnings: This is the LAST in a 4-part saga? Series? eh either way you have been warned. There will be no spoilers from this book, but there maybe - probably be spoilers from the first three books.

So that was Warning number one: I received an ARC of this book for an honest review AND I truly believe in that honesty is the best policy here. So lets do this!

Song Choice: "You Are the Best Thing" by Ray LaMontagne - that is kinda just for the series in general and how i feel about in the first place. "Swelling" by Sarah Jaffe, "Welcome Home" by Radical Face, and "Oh Shit" by Rai because i wanted to be funny and i felt there were a lot of OH SHIT moments. well at least for me.

First thoughts: Goddammit Janelle. Okay there are some books you just read the series and think to yourself: "Damn I kind hope this ends soon because I just don't see where it is going." THEN there are books like this where makes you think: "Damn I never want this to end. I love the characters, I love the plot, I love the writing. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE EVERYTHING. mostly...I hate that it has to end." So I don't know why but it seems the last few series "final book" just doesn't live up to my expectations, I am not going to name names, and quite honestly I have loved everything that has come from Janelle, I think she has not only an amazing way of making the reader feel conflicted on the characters - caring for those you don't want to care for, and for making it really hard to tell "well who is right here" Kay? so on top of that, she is just fantastic at character building, and plot building. So with my pre-set fears in place, I was happily, and really not that surprised, that Janelle wrote a fantastic ending to a fantastic series.

Thoughts on Plot: Wooo wow. There was a lot going on this book, I mean there is a lot to wrap up. And it was I think really well done I don't think that the ended dragged on and on and on forever...though part of me wanted it to. And then it wasn't all smashed together so that you felt you were rushed through the entire thing and too much was happening at once. Well paced and well split between the characters. Oh I was terrified at parts, I thought for sure my heart was going to break in half. Other parts I was laughing so hard I thought i might start to cry a little! this was such a amazing ending to a series i really truly believe that. And there was an exciting piece of news at the end!!! <3 like after the book finished. right before i the acknowledgments i think... anyways I don't want to spend to much time here because I don't want to give anything away. But the book was split that we got everyone's stories without feeling rushed, or overwhelmed. At times yeah i thought how is she going to do this so quickly? BUT SHE DID IT, SHE DID! Always surprising me dammit.

Characters:

Dammit. Okay so many.

Aiden: Oh my sweet Aiden. We have watched him from struggling to pick up an axe, to falling in love with all the wrong girls, to now where is becomes the warrior they need to save all of Eden. I don't think his golden heart ever faltered, he isn't perfect that is for sure, but damn is he good. Our poor sweet Aiden goes through the ringer in this one, but he never changes who he is, which I love that about Aiden because he is so brave, so courageous, and such a good person. <3

Elise: Awww thank god her and Wolf finally made things work! She is so happy in this book and I can really tell how much her friendship to Aiden means to her as well. I thought that she was kickass as she was in the rest of the books and I adore her. i really do.

Wolf: TALK ABOUT SWOON WORTHY GENTS, me and Wolf got off on the wrong hand in book one, why you ask? because i knew right off the bat that he liked Elise, and i wanted Aiden and her to be together but i was pleasantly surprised how quickly he grew on me. I was a puddle of goo when he talked i really was. Good, loyal friend right here.

Logan....logan, logan, logan. Have i mentioned how much I loved this kid? He was the comic relief in this book, and he did it so well, I really do love him he has a very special place in my heart, he always did in this book though he comes off more as the clown then ever but i couldn't help but love him more for it.

Rain: i am still debating on whether i hate her or not. I want to, i really do. but dammit i can't help but feel for her sometimes...its just so hard! *sigh*

Elex: loved him. he was a very interesting character and i really liked him. (sorry these are getting shorter as we go i will explain why)

Lily: AWWW LILY!!! <3 loved her.

Okay so why i started getting shorter and shorter. I felt that in this book the characters stopped growing not because I don't think Janelle wrote them badly or anything, I would never think that they were written as who they are, with there awesome personalities that had grown in the last three books but they were done growing in this book. It also worked amazingly well for finishing the series. There is no leftover feeling of, well I don't think I am done with this character, i think they still have a lot of growing to do. No I truly believe these characters were done growing and as much as it kills me to admit, yeah there story was done. *oops did make me die a little*

The ending: the end. - i was a mess. I truly was. But it was the right ending i think. In conclusion I would like to Thank Janelle for the ARC it was a truly amazing gift. I encourage you all if you even thought the other books were so-so (which i don't know how that is possible) to read this.

So this won't be posted on my blog until the 2nd i think... either way you can check out how i felt about the other books and see my casting for them as well here: http://theviolethourbookreviews.wordp...

Okay. *sniffs* I think I am calm enough to write this review! *blows nose*

I cannot express how much I love this series. I never in a million years expected to enjoy this type of book and Janelle has opened my eyes to a whole new world of reading.

There are so many answers that we gain in this last book that I really had a hard time putting it down and trying to even sleep at night. YES!!! It is that good!!!

I really enjoyed the storyline right from the beginning. Aiden entering a whole other world and fighting along side his new friends. It gripped my heart and I fell in complete love with all of these characters. I enjoyed watching them grow both individually and as a whole to fight for their land and beliefs.

I really did not think that this book could top the last book in making me cry, but this book completely shattered my heart. The characters go through so much, especially Aiden. He finds out what he truly is, the group loses lives of loved ones, there's a wedding and Aiden needs to make a huge decision.

I enjoyed the ending and was very thankful to Ms. Stalder for giving us insight into what would be happening around Eden after-the-fact. I truly hope that we will get to see these characters again. I know that there will be a spin-off series, Elysium, but I need me some Wolf! *wink-wink*

Goodbyes are so hard. I have eagerly awaited this final installment in the Eden series, but I have also dreaded it a little, because that means saying goodbye to a great series.

As expected there were surprise twists. At one point, I thought I knew how it would all go down (I was fairly certain, in fact), but I was wrong. I like how Ms. Stalder always keeps me on my toes.

I thought it dragged a bit in the middle. That might have been due to my irritation with Elisa, since it took way too long for her to spill the secret, which was very frustrating. It also seemed like most of the female characters (except for my girl Lily) became a bit weaker/emotionally needy in this one, especially in their romantic relationships. The angst was definitely true to life, but I was hankering for a little more action.

Despite a few nitpicky issues, I still really enjoyed the ride. I’ll admit that I cried a bit at the end, mostly because it was over and I had grown attached to the characters and the world of Eden. Even though I’m sad, I do enjoy it when authors have a specific arc for their characters and a set number of books plotted out from the get-go. I’m really looking forward to the spinoff series. Now I can start trying to predict who will be involved and what will happen. I’ll be wrong, of course, since I can’t predict what Ms. Stalder will do. And that’s a good thing. :)

I have been lucky enough to read all 4 installments very close together. Its no surprise I have made a very close bond with a few characters. Wolf, Elex - Im looking at you.

Everything was resolved, questions answered and long traveled journeys are explored so that you are able to enjoy the full fruits of their labors. For me though, there were too many happy couples being happy.

I will be thinking about these characters for a long time, and will hold them dear to my heart.

I must be a sadist, because I loved the tension and unresolved conflicts of the first 3 installments, and missed them here. I loved to find compassion with what would normally be classed as the "baddies". I couldnt find that same connection with Rain.

I feel like I wanted to revel in the happiness of all the couples at the end of this series, rather than experience it throughout this one. This is my personal preference.

I am really keen to find out more about the origins of those I cannot mention here, and will be avidly waiting the arrival of the spin off.

Wow, just wow.

The final installment of the Eden series is heartbreaking, tearjerking, crazy making, amazingly fr*cking good... And even that description doesn't do it justice!

I laughed, I cried, I screamed at it, I threw with it, I hugged it. This novel is an emotional rollercoaster. AND I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!

This fast paced fantasy series is a recommendation to everyone who loves reading YA Epic Fantasy!

Once I re-read the final version, I will write my review. Overall, based upon the beta/ARC, it's a fine finish for the Eden series. I am satisfied that the story lines have a resolution, although I can't decide if it's the perfect ending, or if I wanted to see it take a different path into the sunset.

Definitely a fantastic YA series that is worth reading!

I am not ashamed to say I cried when I finished reading this. I mean, probably some sobs and craziness, but it was a beautiful cry. It was taking a journey and realizing it was one of the best walks you’ve ever taken. You know, when it’s been cold all winner, and you get that first day of spring, and you can’t do anything but sit outside and take big deep breaths of fresh air? Well that’s this series. There has been nothing more amazing than taking this journey with the author, the characters, the fellow fans of this series, because it’s only once in a blue moon that you realize you have something this special on your hands. You know, I’m seriously not sure what I’m supposed to do with myself now that my book boyfriend is going away :( *blinks away tears* It’s like pringles, once you pop, you can’t stop, except now the cans empty, and every store is out hahahahaha yes, that was terrible analogies, but you get my drift :) You know what’s the best part, I DID NOT see a lot of those endings coming. Seriously, way to make it not so predictable, even if it rocks you to your core!

Eden East starts immediately where Eden South finished, with a devastating blow, and a major character being kidnapped. I hate to say it, but this move literally brought everyone to their feet and ready to take on the world. Aiden has already given up so much for Eden, so when this directly effects Aiden, you realize how much all of these people really care for him in that short time they’ve gotten to know him. This makes things have so much more meaning. Aiden is one of the best main characters I’ve ever read. He’s one of the very few major heroes that isn’t all broken and sad and pitiful. LOL I know I say this, don’t get me wrong, he has flaws, but he tries to be optimistic for everyone else. He tries to be strong, so others have a shoulder to cry on. He’s always considerate. He’s always willing to go head first, to make sure that those behind him have a chance to save the day too. He’s a beautiful soul.

There are so many major characters in here, you won’t look at Wolf, Elisa, Logan (he’s still mine), Moose, Turk, Jameson, Callum, Rose, Rain, and Elex as sidekicks any longer. They will become the main building blocks needed for Eden to be Eden. There are no more side kicks. There are only equals. They are the heart and soul of the series. You can’t have one without the other. It says so much about the writing of Ms Stalder that she has created such a masterpiece of beautiful amazing wonderful world building and character building. No one is ever just a bad guy. Well, except maybe Aziz, he’s really a bad guy. But you’ll meet Elex and Callum, and though they maybe start out with you thinking they are bad guys, but you are going to fall in love with them!

There’s just a few things I have to talk about, that I will try to leave it unspoilery…. Elex and Rain’s relationship- I am really happy about this and I have feeling we may see them again :) Rose and Callum- I think they may be one of the most wonderful couples of the series. Elisa and Wolf, I think everyone knew it was coming, but all those swooning girls are highly disappointed. Not to mention Logan, who lost his sidekick. Ah Logan, he will always be my jokester, who tries to lighten the mood and make things a little more fun :) Aiden’s final knowledge of who and WHAT he is, it’s amazingly epic. I DID NOT see that one coming, I mean REALLY! I totally kept thinking of things that were totally wrong. Turk, Jameson, Diana, I’m not sure I can say anything without ruining something, so just know something about something is happening there LOL and lastly, to the ending, if you had to have that ONE little mishap to lead the the happily ever after, I can honestly say I couldn’t be more stoked at this one. Even I can say that this is the perfect ending, even if it took some tears to get there. My heart is full boys, my heart is full (high five if you got that move reference :))! And my name looks damn good on paper… you’ll have to read this story to find out what that means :)

There’s so many things this book has to offer. There’s fantasy elements, there’s action, there’s romance, there’s breath taking scenery, there’s a phenomenal flow of words that will literally take you into Eden. Hell, even if it were boring, I’d read it for the writing, but then it wouldn’t be Ms J if it were boring. I don’t think she could do boring LOL There will never come a time that I won’t buy anything that Ms Stalder writes, because she is a MUST BUY FOREVER! She has such a wonderful knack for taking a few words and turning them into a kaleidoscope of colors and feelings and wonderment. There is nothing left to say except please, PLEASE do NOT ever EVER stop WRITING! I need your stories almost as much as I love my fur babies- if you know me, you know that’s a tremendous amount :) There are no amount of PAWS for this. Take my 5 PAWS and multiply that times infinity, and then give Logan a kiss for me :)

Check out my full 4 star review here
http://trinastantilisingtidbits.blogs...

This took us through another daring adventure into the past, and the thrilling escapades, of Aiden, Wolf, Elisa, Lily & Logan and gives us a glimpse of how well Aiden knows Ethan & Melissa from their future world.
A lot of the book is focused on Rain, Aziz and Elex and gives a more thorough explanation into Elex and how he was created and what his actual purpose is, and who his brother truly is, and why things have panned out the way they have, with Aziz keeping him practically a secret for most of his life

As book 3 left us Ethan & Melissa were brought from the future into the past and had been captured by Aziz.
Lily had just been taken and airlifted by Elex and she was awaiting her fate and learning what was to become of all of their futures.

Book 4 sees Lily join both Ethan & Melissa in Aziz dungeon, and with them captured, Aziz tries to lure Aiden to come and rescue them so he can then capture him as well and learn all there is to know regarding his unkillable supernatural powers, but Aiden is much wiser than that, and he has thought things through He has noticed that lately he has become extremely strong , and with doing so he has awakened and started to develop the most magnificent power, and he is experiencing things that he has never felt previously, so his time is spent trying to enhance those powers and in doing so giving him the knowledge of use so he will be able to use them as his secret weapon when the need is right.

We also see more from Callum and Rose, Jamison & Diana and the sun people, and a few extras are introduced into the fold as well along the way.

This is a fantastic adventure and I'm sorry to see the series come to an end.

As Janelle promised there is a HEA but boy there is a lot of darkness, secrets and fantastic reading to get through before we can get to that.

There is going to be a spin off series called Elysium, so I cannot wait to see what that involves and the excitement that will bring.

Fantastic Janelle 4 stars from me.

I am at a loss for words. I went into Eden East knowing this was the final installment of this series but that still didn’t prepare me for what was to come.

The conclusion of the Eden Series brings all your favorite characters back. Aiden was the main focal point but everyone plays a big role. With Callum back in the picture the people of the capital will have to accept the people of the North. They must all united to save Eden and loved ones from the evil Sorcerer Aziz.

The war has only just begun but there is something brewing inside Aiden. He is known as the great warrior that would save Eden but there are dark secrets that loom within.

Aiden has been feeling different. The longer he’s stayed in Eden the stronger those feeling get. He doesn’t know what to think of it but puts those insecurities aside because there is a job to be done and he needs to get Lily back.

Elisa and Wolf, finally together! YAY!! Their love for each other is strong and now that they don’t fight off their attraction for each other they seem more calm and collected. But with an unexpected death Elisa discovers something that could potentially destroy everything her people have worked for. Can they see past this and still keep things as they were or will they all feel betrayed by what has to be revealed soon?

Lives are lost and hearts are broken but they must all move forward and live their lives.

What a great end but at the same time I don’t want to say goodbye to these characters I’ve fallen in love with.

You will not be disappointed and knowing there is a spin-off lessens the blow a bit.

I really enjoyed the conclusion to the Eden series. Aziz was really a star here with his evil scheming and creepiness. Romances continued to grow, and we finally see the final showdown between all the powers that be. The book does really well switching between all the story lines and you don't ever feel like Aiden is the main hero/character.... it is whoever the story is following at that moment (Jameson, Callum, Rain, Rose, Elisa, etc.). There are some really, really sad things in this book, and some amazing joyous ones. For some characters, it is a tragic ending. For others, it is a happy one. And for a few others, only bittersweet. Still, everything is closed really well and I'm satisfied with where the story ends. There is a lot of redemption in the book, and justice for those not redeemed. For a lot of series, the last book is hit or miss. In this case, I think it is a hit. It stays true to the series, has a ton of action and development, and resolves things very well. If you've read the first three, do yourself a favor and read this one.

While I would say this is a YA book, I would recommend it only for older teens due to some light profanity and sexual situations.

NOTE: I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

I'm in mourning. I've never been so sad to see a series come to an end. This may be the most incredible epic fantasy series of all time -- seriously, I'm not just being dramatic -- and it's over. I finished it a few weeks ago and have been trying to process my feelings. This book is incredible!!! It's the perfect culmination of the three amazing books prior. But now it's over ... I just can't seem to wrap my head around that.

So what can I say as a reviewer? Well, if you're reading this, you've likely read books 1-3 and don't need me to rehash how incredibly well written the characters are, how the complex cast each has back story and depth and draw you in and make you love and/or hate them. You don't need me to tell you that the overall plot, as well as the individual books' plots, are intriguing to the point that your children may not eat for days as you are too busy reading. So all I can say is that the conclusion of all this freakastically amazing adventure that is EDEN-EAST does not disappoint. It's great ... but I still can't believe its over.

Another five star book for Janelle Stalder! It's always bitter-sweet to finish a series, especially a series like Eden.

Book Four, Eden-East, is chalked full of answers we've all been seeking since Eden was first released.

*Spoilers if you haven't read the first 3 books in the series*

Elisa and Wolf are finally happily together, but Aiden is upset about Lily having gone missing. In his anger, Aiden learns some shocking things about himself. He knows there's something different about him, but he doesn't know what it is. All he knows is that he wants Lily back, and he'll stop at nothing to get her back.

The book focuses on the new army fighting their great enemy, Aziz, and it's full of tension, conflict, and sweet romances.

I adored this book. I am so thrilled to have experienced this series, and as I said before, it's such a bitter-sweet feeling when a series ends. The book is great, but I'm sad to say goodbye.

SUMMARY (50 words or less)
Loving and following a series means that a reader has certain expectations. While it is unrealistic that everything will be great, we still want some sort of happy ending. And I’m happy to say while the ending won’t be perfect for all characters, it will be perfect for the series.

So I just realized this book is still showing on my currently reading list. I guess GR ate my review last month. I will work on another one a later, but I will say that I loved the book and I'm so sad this series is over.

Just finished beta reading this. Perfect ending to a great series. I'm really going to miss all of these characters. If you haven't read this series yet, you're really missing out!

I liked this book the least out of the 4. The "bad guys" in the story got too much story time in my opinion.
