I got this book as a freebie on amazon and I have to say I absolutely LOVED every second of it!!!!
This was such a beautiful love story that I found hard to put down and was sad to see it come to an end even though the ending was wonderful.
Tessa and Dibs are both damaged by previous relationships, with Tessa losing all belief in love and trust. From chapter one their relationship sucks you in and the banter between the two is witty and affectionate. Tessa tries to resist the amazing Dibs but he is persistent and fate steps in to ensure that their relationships grows.
When Tessa finally admits her feelings and everything seems perfect for a while, the forces of Dibs powerful family step in and make life difficult and Tessa starts to doubt everything once again. The depth of their love and feelings is so strong that they are both willing to give up everything to protect each other and ensure each other's happiness.
I honestly shed many tears when everything falls apart and both hearts are ripped open, but with the help of unexpected people things are eventually set back on course and this beautiful couple are reunited for a wonderful and happy ending.
This book is really well written and flowed flawlessly, I fell in love with Tessa and Dibs, they suited each other perfectly and I was with them every step of their journey to becoming soul mates.
This book is a must read and I would highly recommend it. I would love to read a sequel and enjoy more of Tessa and Dibs's story.

Characters I'd like to share a martini with do it for me, add subtle emotion that builds to soaring, a healthy dose of spicy romance and laugh out loud dialog, and I'm a fan. She's Got Dibs has it all. Ms Nuest delivers a fabulously entertaining ride sure to end up on your re-read shelf.

As soon as this romance became available, I bought it. I love AJ Nuest's writing and cried my way through her JEZEBEL'S WISH. Few writers evoke such strong emotions from me, so I eagerly awaited her next release. I laughed and sighed and cried while reading SHE'S GOT DIBS. It's light-hearted, serious, sensual and memorable. What else could a romance junkie ask for?
Ms. Nuest gives us a drop-dead gorgeous hero and a smart-mouthed heroine--God, I loved her--and instant attraction that nearly singed my Kindle buttons. There's outside interference to keep them apart that makes you grit your teeth. But what kept peeking through every well-crafted sentence was the love Dibs felt for Tessa. I honestly felt as soon as he saw her in the airport, his heart knew she was THE one. Dibs says something in this book that I will always remember. "I'm going to come at you like a freight train." And Lord have mercy, he did. Whew! I loved this romance. Just loved it! This book has gone into my keeper file, so I can read it again and again.

This was such an awesome read and it was a freebie!! Never judge a book by its.....price. There was no slow build up to the plot line it just started off with a bang. Tessa had some emotional issues that stemmed from her last relationship and interfered with any futures ones. She met David aka Dibs aka the love of my life and has a one night stand and tries to leave it as a tag and bag but he has other ideas. He is definitely the in your face and takes what he wants types but he also has been hurt. His family is whacked and becomes another problem for him that he doesn't need. If you are looking for a steamy read with some angst and a HEA than this is the read for you.

Again, AJ Nuest does NOT disappoint. The banter and dialogue between the characters is sexy and fun to watch. Dibs is just a DOLL and you wanna cover him in chocolate and just eat him up! YUMMY! Um...charming, HOT billionaire with a heart the size of the moon...what's not to love???
And you can't help but sympathize with the heroine, Tessa. Who hasn't had their heart broken and is afraid to try love again? She's Got Dibs by AJ Neust was a pure delight to read! Her opening scene at the airport pulled me right in with smiles and laughter. I instantly loved both Tessa and Dibs. What I loved most, though, was how the plot took me places I didn't expect. These characters have depth and history. Their choices were sometimes difficult and filled with self-sacrifice. This story is about more than the hot guy on the cover (although that doesn't hurt, right ladies? )In short, I'd highly recommend this book.

LOVED this book! Funny, sexy and terrific story.
Tessa, an event planner, meets David (Dibs), a philanthropist, on a flight. The chemistry is hot from Chapter 1 but she's afraid to commit. I guess what loved most about this story was the great interaction between the characters, comedic dialogue and of course, the super hot love scenes.
Highly recommended!!! :-)

SHE'S GOT DIBS by AJ Nuest
The first time I saw this book I had no doubt that it will be good. I truly enjoyed AJ's Jezebel's Wish but I didn't expected that I'd end up loving She's Got Dibs. I'm not much into Adult Books, because honestly, most of the books I've read from this genre concentrates more on sex rather than the story itself. This book isn't one of those. It's sweet and romantic and oh so sexy.
I can't think of anything that I didn't liked about this book. I enjoyed the story as much as I like the characters. I liked Tessa even though there were times that I was irritated by her decisions. Nevertheless, she remains a strong woman and her choices brought her true love. And Dibs, I strongly feels for this guy. For me, he's Christian Grey without the psychological and emotional baggage. Only the sweet, caring, thoughtful, loving, and rich kind of guy. He has the humor and wit that I like and he's an absolute gentleman. Christian can fly all his helicopters, I've got Dibs who can fly an airplane! Yeah... Literally.
She's Got Dibs is an engaging book, romantic and sexy, it will satisfy the reader's sensual appetite as much as their heart's. This is my second AJ Nuest's book and it's definitely not the last.

I tried to hold on, to make it last just a little bit longer.... but sadly, inevitably - I got to the end. And what a sigh-worthy, emotional and fulfilling end it was too.
I've read and loved AJ Nuest's JEZEBEL'S WISH but I have to say for me, this one blew it right out of the water and now has found itself a nice little possie on my keeper shelf. The author, although always a huge talent, has matured into an entertaining style all her own. I'd recognise her voice anywhere.
Ms. Nuest's heroines are feisty and complicated, and deeply scarred from previous relationships. But they are also fighters, who once they realise what they want, go after it with all their hearts, consequences be damned. Matched with THE most divine heroes, the fireworks between them is nothing short of breath-taking.

Sometimes a book comes out of nowhere and hits you hard, but in a good way. So is the case of She’s Got Dibs by AJ Nuest. The reason I read this one is because it was a Kindle freebie. Sometimes you find a diamond in the rough world of free kindle reads. She’s Got Dibs is a perfect example of this. AJ takes the familiar uber handsome billionaire trope, but gives it an amazing spin. I adored this book so much, and that of the hero, Dibs, who may end up being my favorite hero of this year.
The title- She’s Got Dibs is regarding the heroine Tessa, an event planner who, while waiting for a flight from New York to Chicago meets Dibs, a very handsome and friendly man in a suit. His real name is David Brenner, but goes by Dibs because of the first three initials of his name. David is a philanthropist from a very wealthy family. Tessa is trying to make her new event planning business take flight. She’s up for a very big account that could make or break her reputation. Tessa also has turned her back on love because a few years ago the man she was going to marry up and left her the day before their wedding with no excuse. Tessa is anti-love, but David is more than willing to change her mind.
Because of an ice storm, all flights to Chicago have been cancelled. David finds a hotel to stay in for the night, and also finds a room for Tessa, the sweet guy he is. Tessa has no other choice and tags along with David. She soon realizes that David is quite the charmer. He even gives Tessa her own nickname- Rex, based on a silly joke of her being a dinosaur. After a few drinks and more conversation, which leads to some kisses (David loves to kiss), Tessa decides to share one night with David because he's such a good kisser, which may mean he's great in bed. She doesn’t think she’ll see him again after their night together. What she doesn’t know is that David is beyond smitten with Tessa and he won’t give up on her.
David wants to give their relationship a shot. He’s been scarred by love before with his ex-wife, but still believes in love. Tessa sets up boundaries and only wants to be friends with David. But she eventually weakens and welcomes David as her boyfriend, although she fears he’ll break her heart in the end. David’s parents are dead set against Tessa, and a man from her past pops up to put a major dent in their relationship. It’s up to Tessa to fight for David and prove she can embrace love again with a man who wants to give her the entire world.
She’s Got Dibs is a book I want to have babies with. I adored this book so much that it’s going on my keeper shelf. This is one cute, adorable, sexy and everything in between read. It really shines as a contemporary romance. David is the opposite of every emo, alpha billionaire hero. He's a beta (win!) with a heart of gold, and so in love with Tessa, the prickly pessimist. I would also say this is an opposites attract romance with a very endearing quality. The chemistry between Tess and David is hot. These two steam up the sheets. The love scenes are golden and some of the best I’ve read this year.
The one negative is the last half is a little wacky because of David’s parents and Tessa’s constant worrying if she’s good enough for David, including her constant obsession with waiting for the other shoe to drop. I can forgive these issues because David and Tessa’s interactions and dialogue was wonderful. There were a few times I swooned inside over David’s courtship of Tessa and his overall positive outlook on life.
She’s Got Dibs is a winner. I’ll definitely keep my eye out for any future releases from AJ. I urge you to get your hands on She’s Got Dibs. At $2.99, it’s well worth the price.

Who reads romance to understand and gain clarity into human emotions. Do we prefer to escape our own predicaments or face who we are? I usually prefer historical romance to contemporary but this book offered far more than just the quick "bump and grind often featured in contemporary romance. I loved that this book eloquently depicted how false entities appearing real (F.E.A.R.) will influence our decisions including those of the heart. The author surely understands the influences behind the decisions men and women make. In the end the final decision should be a testament of love's journey and intimacies. I loved this book . A five star rating is for not having to leave anything to my imagination rather that I could live the experience. No disappointment here.

I really need more than 5 stars to do justice to this book and this author. AJ Nuest has crafted a story overflowing with humor, love, honesty, and spicy sex scenes. I laughed and cried and worried about Dibs and Tessa, and I haven't been the same since I turned that final page. Darned if I don't MISS them! There are scenes in this book that make the characters walk right off the page. Bigger than life moments that I'll want to read over and over again. Not just another romance-don't miss out! I'm on my way to Amazon right now to see what else Ms. Nuest has written.

I got this book as a freebie from Amazon and I loved it!!! Dibs is an entitled man who is actually humble. He runs a foundation that gives to charities, he goes to third world countries to help the impoverished and he is totally taken with Tessa. Tessa tries to deny her attraction to Dibs and fight the draw she has to him. Thankfully they find their way to each other but family interferes and that is where we are clawing our way through our Kindle to see this story to the end. Dibs is amazing!!! Kudos to Caroline and Marcus for their assistance at the end. This is a must read!

Absolutely no exaggeration... I could not put this story down. I loved Dibs, he was such a great character. He was charming and perfectly put together. Tessa was sweet, but has a fiery and quick witted temper. The story was so, so good and I laughed and cried in equal measures. 5million stars, you should really give this story a go! x

I loved it!, Read this in one sitting, really great enjoyable romance, just what you want in a book, great story, witty dialogue between Dibs and Tessa (they were so lovely together)!, loads of drama and characters you could root for, put the kettle on and enjoy...

Loved it. Picked this one up for free on Amazon. This one had it all. There was enough humor in the dialog to counter the heartache. Dibs and Tessa are perfect together.

These are supposed to be smart, successful, mature adults, yet both David and Tessa proved that love can make anyone a little crazy, a little stupid and sometimes a little unrealistic. What really had my heart pumping, (aside from electric chemistry in the pool, the shower and between the sheets) was watching and not being able to stop oncoming train! That, people is the gift of a great author, an author who understands that people are not perfect, life is not perfect and well, real love can overlook an awful lot, because to find love is worth the risk!

Oh heck no, I wasn’t always on board with Tessa’s thinking, or serious lack of. These are supposed to be smart, successful, mature adults, yet both David and Tessa proved that love can make anyone a little crazy, a little stupid and sometimes a little unrealistic. What really had my heart pumping, (aside from electric chemistry in the pool, the shower and between the sheets) was watching and not being able to stop oncoming train! That, people is the gift of a great author, an author who understands that people are not perfect, life is not perfect and well, real love can overlook an awful lot, because to find love is worth the risk!

This was a pleasure to read. I thought it was funny and sweet. Dibs was such a charming and wonderful man. I loved him. Tessa was royally screwed up after her break up with her ex. But what I loved was that even though Tessa was scared and ran away from her feeling a a lot, Dibs was there waiting for her to clue into her feelings. The romantic gestures throughout the book were beautiful.
There was family drama. Dibs family was a mess.. Honestly by the end I still hated Vanessa (Dibs mom). Overall this was a really good read.

After seeing a rec for this in the comments on Jen and Sophia’s mid-year update post, I went to Amazon to one-click and realized I bought it back in June when it was free. (Love it when that happens)
Dibs is a wonderfully delicious beta hero who will make you melt. When he meets Tessa they are stranded in an airport after having their flights cancelled. Their banter is sexy and full of wit. Falling into bed with each other comes natural, it’s what comes after that’s the hard part. Dibs has had his relationship woes, but is completely dedicated to trying again with Tessa. Tessa has been burned so badly that she is the one who constantly pushes Dibs away and even tries to friend zone him.
My very favorite thing about this story is Dibs. He buys her flowers, he stocks her house with food, he worries for her, he slowly and gently keeps at Tessa until she just can’t fight him anymore. I loved their relationship. He’s one of the best heroes I’ve read lately and I can’t blame Tessa for completely falling for him. This was a beauty of a find on Amazon and at $2.99 it’s still a steal.

Sweet romantic story
This was a very quick read. A twist on the normal love story. The main characters made you fall in love with them. They each had characteristics the reader could identify with. The sex scenes in the book were very descriptive and I feel there could have been fewer of them and the book would have been even better.

I'm not much of a romantic comedy gal, but I've read the Golden Key Chronicles and LOVED them, so I thought I'd give this a chance. Glad I did!
Tessa Adams is a strong, independent, self sufficient woman who co-owns a party planning business with her best friend, Tiffany. Ever since she was abandoned a day before her wedding 3 years ago, Tessa is sure true love is a farce and engages in random hookups (note: most guys won't admit it, but this is why they also engage in similar behavior with countless women). "Love was a lie, spoon fed to little girls". Oh how true! Maybe not the lie part, but definitely the part about spoon feeding to little girls. Weddings are a business now. The stupid dress (that does NOT have to be white!!), but over sized cake, etc. It's all to market to girls to we grow up wanting bullshit that's not necessary.
Tessa fits guys into 1 of 5 categories according to behavior, appearance, i.e. a "type". Sorry guys, but there are types and categories...
When she meets David Isaac Brenner AKA "Dibs" during a layover at an airport due to a severe storm, she actually starts talking to "Sir Interrupts-a-lot". LOVE this - made me LOL literally!
After the inevitable random hookup occurs (note: I don't care if a woman's on b.c protection should STILL be used!), Tessa sneaks out of the room and heads home to Chicago where her friend and partner reprimands her yet again for what's probably the 1000th time. Except this guy is different. He actually IS interested in more than just sex, and DOES want to see Tessa again. He sends flowers. Repeatedly. And calls. And puts up a banner asking her to dinner. It is a tad bit on the excessive/creepy side. There's a limit to romance, guys. Continuing after being told no 50 times is borderline obsessive, particularly for someone you don't know. It does more than creep her out, and she screams at him to stop. Finally...finally, he does.
There's a part of Tessa that's sad about it - that he cared so much to keep trying - but after a couple of days she starts to go back to life not thinking about him at all. Until she has to fly back to NY to sign a major account she and Tiffany just landed. Low and behold she runs into Dibs on the plane. Quite the argument ensues about Dibs not being able to handle rejection. I do love that she points out that it was all about his pride, and that he should not speak for her (in regards to the stewardess). Good for you, Tessa! I HATE when guys speak for me, order for me, etc. I have a voice and I'll use it thank you very much...
She also wants to succeed on her own, without help from Dibs. Yes, men, I know it's hard to believe, but there are some of us who don't want to use short cuts or sleep our way to the top.
Another thing I love about Tessa is she isn't afraid to speak her mind. She mentions that guys only think of one thing at a time, and women think of multiple things: this does not mean we are crazy! It means we can handle more than men (so, why then aren't we paid more...?) and that women get blamed b/c men "lack the let's think things through gene". She stands up for herself. She has her own business at 29, has taken care of herself her whole life and doesn't need a reminder of anything. She can take care of herself - she doesn't need a babysitter. Oh how I wish some guys would just grasp this concept.
When the argument finally calms down and they finally agree to be friends, things keep going fairly pleasantly. I say fairly b/c Dibs is obviously interested but Tessa doesn't want to let herself get hurt, so they just hang out and do what couples would do - except no kissing, sex or PDA of any kind. At a public event, Tessa is jealous of a woman who really has no shame in throwing herself at him. It's here where Tessa starts to realize her feelings might be deeper than she thought. So eventually, things heat up between them.
Now it's the inevitable horror of meeting the family. Dibs's mother makes no bones about the fact that she dislikes Tessa. After dealing with that fiasco, now the guy who ditched her the day before the wedding comes back in to warn Tessa about Dibs's family.
It's a seemingly never ending roller coaster of emotions. Ever hear the song lyrics by Aerosmith "life is a journey, not a destination". This is definitely one book that embodies those words. That's one thing I LOVE about AJ Nuest - your heart will be ripped out, stomped on, rearranged, and yet, put back together and made whole again. You'll get to point B alright, but not before hiking 10 miles uphill...both ways...through the snow...you get the idea. It's a laugh/cry/smile fest from beginning to end - never a dull moment and worth every word read. And all along there's a strong female lead that can do it all herself, and a romantic loon of a guy who thinks he knows best, but learns that maybe...just maybe...he doesn't...

This is a romance between a 34-year-old multimillionaire philanthropist Golden Retriever puppy, and a woman who won’t tell him a simple truth for the sake of creating a conflict that will drag out the plot.
Ordinarily, I am very fond of the set-up in which the heroine is emotionally unavailable, and the irresistibly warm hero eventually gets past her shell. However, “eventually” here takes about a week, and then it’s “I love you” every 14 lines. Because the emotional arc is so extreme, both of the main characters look like dopes, sometimes separately, sometimes simultaneously. The other part of the conflict that helps pad out this book is the stereotypes that perform the role of the hero’s parents – cold fish control freak rich people, who produced children who say things like “Mumsy” and “Well done, old man” (what is this, a 1940s movie script?).
Despite the extreme characterization, I found the writing generally strongish. There are lots of scenes between the protagonists that are quite cute. (The following could be considered a spoiler, but it’s more an illustration of the Golden Retriever puppy eagerness of the hero than an actual plot reveal, so I’m leaving it).
Alongside the cute scenes, it also contains a fair number of passages that just seemed … overdone.
Now, I wasn’t keen on “effervesced” the first time I saw it, but the second time…
Too much. There was a lot of diction like that – on the one hand, it was colourful, but on the other hand, it was like eating a bowl of Hollandaise sauce.
I’m probably in a tiny minority, but when I’m reading a romance, I prefer a minimum of breathless blissiness in the narrative. Yes, I made up that word, and I’m standing by it. This is the kind of thing I mean:

“Watch it!” She pointed at him. “I’m in no mood.” She stepped into the water, a deep scowl in place when he entered behind her. “Get out of here. I’m mad at you.”
Slipping his arms around her waist, he pulled her to his chest, heedless of the water darkening his pajama pants. “Marry me, Rex. The rest be damned.”

Following a shared shower and breakfast, they finally relinquished the sealed barrier of the bedroom door and left the house to window-shop the various boutiques and galleries of downtown Vail. But the breathtaking backdrop of blue mountains, the chalet-style buildings, and relaxing stroll only heightened her joy. It cascaded through her body, tingling in her fingertips each time Dibs pulled her into his arms or brought her close for a kiss.
So, overall, it was pleasing in some ways, but if the author had dialled it all down a bit – the voice, the characterization, the length – it would have been a much stronger book.

Wow this book was breath taking and I am a nervous wreck, being left till the very end to find out the future of these amazing characters has been sweet blissful torture. Unable to put this book down from the beginning it engulfs you into the world of Dib's and Tessa, a chance meeting on a plane turns their worlds upside down as one sight of Tessa and Dib's is smitten, only Tessa and her troubled past can put the breaks on what Dib's has in mind !!!
Seriously I nearly cried!!! now I am not a crier but man from start to finish this book just draws you into their world of business, extreme wealth, past heart breaks, expectations and good intention's all colliding and exploding around them causing heart break and chaos to these characters lives. Only when their true love cannot be denied will these 2 finally be able to discover their true feelings and work together to decide on their future.
Dib's is one hot smoking cutie with a heart of gold, mix together his humour and easy going attitude this millionaire is anything but the norm, when the feisty and sassy Tessa is in his radar he know's what he wants and will stop at nothing to win her over, which is just as well as Tessa's past haunts and stubbornness certainly makes Dib's work for her attention.
There are laughs, quirky homour, sweet intimate emotional moments all congelled into one amazing and heart wrenching story with some amazing hot and steamy sexy encounters that just has you reading on till the very end!!
I loved the whole different background settings and we are taken to some of the most breath taking places which are expertly described throwing you into those places as if you are really there, the supporting characters are expertly described giving you their own personalities and you can't help but love them as they tumble along this journey with Dib's and Tessa.
I for one am hoping for more of this fabulous world and would love to get to know the rest of the Brenner's more especially Caroline and Marcus. This is one amazing read and I seriously recommend to everyone xx
