Rising Demon continues the story of Nicole Cannock and her journey into the Alternative Lifestyle. After gaining the attention, and becoming owned, by the enigmatic DL she moves into his world as his full-time slave. Her desires start to alter…how she perceives herself changes in ways that shock her…and brings a new dimension to their relationship. Their world is one of control and submission…and is soon rocked to its very foundations by the happenings at Der Unterworld.

Christopher was the trusted heir to the Empire, groomed by DL himself to take the reins and drive the business forward. Little did anyone know that he would soon become crazed by the power he had over those around him…and seek to take Der Unterworld into the darkest recesses of the human psyche and sexual demands.
He creates a world where no excess is too far…no desire cannot be catered for…using the disposable people around him to make obscene wishes come true. Something like this could not stay secret for long, and as his plans are revealed to DL by his own lady Christopher launches into action to take a terrible revenge.

Thrown into an investigation through chance Detective Sergeant Josey Bailey soon finds herself out of her depth. She has never experienced what it means to allow desires to take over…to explore her sexuality in so many ways…and when she moves into the world of DL and Nicole she finds that these people will corrupt her totally. She is torn between the new sensations she discovers and finding the person responsible for the hideous murders happening around her…can she stop them before more lives are claimed…and she descends into total erotic abandonment?

I read this book a while ago and it left me stunned, slightly sickened and upset, I had to wait before being able write my thoughts objectively. This is book two in the series and DL has retired to tend his garden (believe it or not!!) not for long though, again not for the faint-hearted as JS shows what could happen if a company like DL's is able to offer ANY sexual excess no matter how deviant. Dark. gritty and edgy, no fluffy silver linings here, some parts read like a horror novel but what made it strike home was the book is based in a very real setting with very ordinary people. Message received 'power corrupts absolutely'.
Very dark, very well written and very disturbing....

I loved this book and although this book is a lot darker than the first one, I found it was keeping it within the storyline and the characters. I don't want to spoil it for the people who haven't read it but I had a lump in my throat at the end. I can't wait to start the next book in the series and more from Dark Scribe.

Ok, the first book was ok, but this one was not that believable. I mean, NOT everyone would be ok with this lifestyle and allow those things to happen. The characters get more psyco and some scenes and descriptions are too gore for me. I actually felt Nicole's pain at the end.

The second part of the trilogy. To be honest it left me feeling sick, I have read dark stories before but the glorification of Rape and Murder was too much for me.
