A vintage VW van. Four friends. A cross-country road trip. It will be the best adventure of my life, if only I can shake the feelings I have for Cameron .
Cameron Reeves is as gorgeous as his name makes him sound. He’s about six feet tall, which is the height I always wrote in my ideal man list in my journal. Yes. I have a list of qualities I want in a man. And Cameron ticks all those boxes—except two. That is, unless you count the fact that I’m a fixture in his life. Cameron probably gives me as much thought as he gives his sofa. It’s there. It’s always been there. Comfortable, reliable, old sofa.
I’ll get over Cameron eventually. Don’t we all get over the hum and rush of our first crush?
If anything, six or seven days cooped up in a van together on a trip across the country should kill any infatuation I have and kill it good.
They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, so maybe forced proximity works the opposite way. A girl can hope.
aaaaand there it goes straight to the bin👉🚮😊 dnf @39% mark, wow, I'm proud. I NEVER dnf a book, this is my first time. I couldn't get past the 39% mark istg. It felt like it was written by a 12 year old writing her first wattpad story✋💀 ______________________
Wheeeww what a PERFECT transition into a new series!!!
I looovveeeddd that we dovetailed from Bordeaux into our new series set on Marbella Island! It was literally the most perfect way to connect the series while still making this one feel like its own project!!
I literally ate this up in one sitting. I just flipped & flopped to different sides of my bed. (Thank you to the popsocket on the back of my kindle — you kept my hand safe)
A fun fact about me: I ADORE Route 66! We got our kicks as a family many years ago, and it is still one of my most favorite experiences ever! I have a special place in my heart for the movie ‘Cars’ because of this trip as well. I’ve always wanted to do the trip again now that I’m older and this story!!!! AAHHH it held me over, at least for a bit.
It had allll of the charm of a “early 20s best friends road trip” a book could have!
I DIED laughing so many times! I spent most of the book with jaw pain because I was smiling so much & so big!
The characters were so so so great together! (Not just Cam & Riley romantically) But just the group! It felt like such a tangible best friend crew!
I SWOONED when the Sunshine nickname came into play! Not even kidding! Puddle = me Cam being so blind was such a fun little road to take! And Riley did such a good job hiding her feelings. 😂
This book was a balm to my heart! I saw so much of myself in Riley and got so much joy from her character learning & growing! I LOVED CAM & RILEY TOGETHER! They really were opposites that just…went together!
I want to give this book ALL of the stars! Because it made me feel ALL of the things!
5/5 *I received this book from the author**All opinions are my own*
Are We There Yet by Savannah Scott - 5 Stars - Book 1 in the Love Trippin' Series
I have been on a road trip book kick lately and Savannah's book Are We There Yet is now a NEW FAV of mine! If you love road trip romance books, pick this up!
🧡Coming of Age Story 🧡Slow Burn 🧡Friends to More 🧡Best Friend's Older Brother 🧡Road Trip Story 🧡No Third Act Breakup 🧡Sweet and Clean Rom-Com 🧡Great Friendship Group 🧡Small Town traveling to California
In this book, we have 4 friends in their early 20s who travel in a vintage VW van across the country on Route 66 from their small town of Bordeaux to Marbella Island (California). We saw a few appearances from some of our Getting Shipped characters, which I loved! This is the perfect best friends road trip story with the rom-com elements added in. Riley has always had a thing for her best friend's older brother, Cameron. She has kept it a secret for so long but on this trip, feelings start to come to the forefront on both sides.
I laughed SO many times, as I usually do in her books. This was the perfect blend of romance and comedy that I needed! I love how Riley and Cameron talked through their feelings and had a lot of good communication as things were progressing. If you want a good, sweet road trip rom-com, highly recommend this one. Excited to see what happens in the next one!
Oh, my goodness! Where do I even begin with this review?
I know every time I read a Savannah book I say it's my new favorite...but THIS BOOK! It was just the absolute sweetest book and so much fun. I LOL'd so many times and literally had a smile on my face for the entire book.
It was sad to leave Bordeaux, but seeing so many of the characters in the opening chapters was such a bittersweet addition to the book! I'm so glad she added that in to help us transition into this new series.
Favorite things:
All the road trip adventures! Literally, everything about this book was so good! If you love coming of age, best friend's older brother, friends to more, road trip, and sweet and clean romance, then run and get this book!
Are We There Yet? is my new favorite Savannah Scott novel! When I finished the Getting Shipped series, I found myself a little sad because I’d come to really care about all the characters. Imagine my delight when I found myself back in Bordeaux for a funny, sweet send off for four young people starting exciting chapters in their lives.
As they take a fun filled roadtrip in a VW van (outfitted by Duke) on the iconic Route 66 from Ohio to California, I was caught up in the amusing, quirky side stops, close friendships, witty dialogue, and magnetic, sizzling attraction between the best friend’s brother and little sister’s best friend. At the end of the journey, I gained four fab new fictional friends and can’t wait to find out what happens next!
Riley’s been in love with her best friend’s brother Cam for years. But, he only sees her as a little sister. Spending a few weeks on the road with him is going to be sweet torture as she tries not to blurt out everything in her head and suppress her huge crush on him. Armed with contagious enthusiasm, a road trip playlist, a bucket list of must see places, road trip bingo, and plenty of snacks, she’s going to make this one road trip Cameron Reeves won’t ever forget.
Cameron is single focused on getting from point A to point B. He’s anxious to get to California where he’ll start his new career at the Marbella Island Resort. Riley though distracts him with her list of unusual stops like the world’s largest rocking chair, a giant whale, outposts with bacon flavored sodas, and Uranus, Missouri. The more time he spends with her, the more he loosens up and finds her sunny disposition irresistible. Is he willing to risk long held friendships and his heart?
I absolutely loved Cam and Riley! Opposites attract, little sister’s best friend, and close proximity are some of my favorite tropes & Savannah Scott does these so well. I adored Cam’s nickname for Riley, the bats, soul-baring talks, and that sunrise birthday surprise! The chemistry, sweet romance, banter, and good natured teasing were off the charts.
I loved the relationships between all the friends. Ben is hilarious! I loved his cute personality and the way he encourages Cam. Can’t wait for his story. I enjoyed the friendship between Madeline & Riley and how it changed and grew even deeper.
You’ll love this must read, sweet romcom! I’m already having a major book hangover and can’t wait for the next one. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author. All opinions are my own and voluntarily given.
Are We There Yet? Is book one in Savannah’s new series and it doesn’t disappoint. If you’ve ever read her getting shipped series (or even if you haven’t) you’ll love this one. This book follows 4 friends as they travel from Bordeaux, OH to California along route 66! Riley has had a crush on Cam for years. The only problem is it’s her best friends older brother so he’s off limits. As they’re traveling along Route 66 they spend time together & Cam realizes he might have feelings for Riley. Will they get together? Will Mads be okay with Riley dating her brother? Do they get to see flying rolls at a restaurant? You’ll need to read this book to find out!
I cannot stop singing my praises for this book & for Savannah as an author! I loved this book & I believe you will too! It’s out 6/15!
I received an arc of this book from the author all reviews are my own
Thank you to Savannah for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All of these thoughts are my own.
I had no idea what I was expecting but it wasn't this. And I say this in the absolute best way possible. I was so into this story and their adventure in route 66. Savannah did an exceptional job in just taking you on this road trip alongside these 4 amazing characters. Riley was at times a bit annoying for me lol but I liked her. And Cam had this responsible aura that is attractive to me. I loved seeing how Cam seem to awaken these intense feelings for Riley and this was SOOO slow burn.
Another amazing plus for me was the fact there were no breakup act people!!! Always a beautiful way to get to the end. Cam was always forthcoming once he got those feelings and there was no turning back.
All in all this story was full of crazy stories in a road trip, friendships, banter and delicious....but EXTREMELY SWEET TENSION that had my heart racing.
'When it comes to Cameron, I'm in a place worse than the friend zone. I'm in the sister zone.'
Oh Best Friend's Brother trope - you are delightfully entertaining. Road trip = forced proximity... yes, please! Crazy Crush for years + rambling nerves anytime he's around? Sign me up!
Starting the book off in my beloved Bordeaux, OH? Heaven. #BordeauxOhioForever #GoCornCobs
I have heard of snippets of Riley in previous books and getting this spin off series makes my heart incredibly happy. I can't give these people up forever (and luckily with re-reading I'll never have to), and this is the perfect way to wean me off my never-giving-up-Bordeaux obsession.
If you read the Getting Shipped series you know exactly what I'm talking about.
*sigh*
Back to this book:
Things I loved--short answer: everything!
Longer answer:
The long-time crush. Every single time when Riley gets flustered around Cam it earned a happy sigh and smile.
The banter and dialogue between these 4 friends--epic!
The road trip--memorable! This author makes you feel like you are there and get ready to make a bucket list of all the must-see things you'll need to add to your road trip list that you will undeniably be dying to take after reading.
The romance? Oh happy sighs all around. The romance arc is PERFECTION! It hits at all the right times and in all of the right ways. Cameron and Riley forever...can someone please make a hollywood name for them? The people need it after this book. They are going down as one of my favorite romantic duos EVER!
Also, the set-up for book 2?
BRING. IT. ON.
Savannah Scott deserves the auto-buy status and I am guaranteed to read anything and EVERYTHING this woman writes! All of the happy feelings for this book.
Get it. Read it. Love it. Repeat.
Thanks to the author for the copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.
Content/Trigger: Long-time unrequited crush, 1 religious exclamation (not OMG), kisses, flirting, GREAT banter, and complete happiness in a book!!
What an adorable love story! It’s always been my dream to road trip across this great country. It’s not going to happen anytime soon but what fun it was to read about this adventurous trip with Cam, Ben, Riley and Mads! The love story is sweet with a wonderful ending! I’m so curious as to what will happen with Madelynn and Ben and hopefully more road-trip adventures!
I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author. All opinions are my own and I was not required to provide a positive review.
Another delightful contemporary romance from one of my favorites, Savannah Scott. This book starts in the familiar setting of Bordeaux, Ohio, giving us a glimpse of some favorite “Getting Shipped” series characters before taking us across the country via Route 66. This fun summer romance is one of the greatest best-friend’s-older-brother trope books I’ve ever read!
There is so much to love about this book! 1. Epic road trip. I am now desperate to follow Route 66 and see and do all the things. 2. Quotes at the beginning of every chapter. So fun. 3. Friends to lovers. 💙💙 4. The best characters. Four friends. It was so easy to settle in and enjoy them. 5. Road trip music. This story was just fun from beginning to end. Light, fun, entertaining. Such a grand escape. I can't wait for the next book!
That’s it, that’s all I have to say. This official wins for my favorite road trip romance book in the history of ever. All the best of all the feels! 😍
“The greatest part of a road trip isn’t arriving at your destination. It’s all the wild stuff that happens along the way.” ~Emma Chase
All the wild stuff that happens in this absolute gem of a book is swoony, sweet, and just so much fun! It’s a road-trip romcom delight, and a perfect summer read.
Four friends from Ohio make a cross-country road trip in a vintage ’79 VW Van, as they head to California to pursue new careers and to attend college. Along the way they have adventures, make memories, and romance blooms between two of them.
I felt like I was in that van with them, seeing the sights along iconic Route 66, and now I’m so ready to go on my own road trip!
Savannah really captured the fun of traveling with friends… the laughs and teasing, goofy selfies, singing along with a playlist, travel games, souvenir shops, snacks, stopping at state signs, and visiting places that were both breathtaking and silly.
Through Riley and Cam, she also captured the giddiness and excitement of new love and first kisses. Their romance was so sweet.
The characters were all well drawn and so likable. Riley is absolute sunshine, and I loved her child-like excitement and enthusiasm for everything. And Cam…. “it’s like someone walked me into a room and took off a blindfold I didn’t even know I had been wearing. Now, I see her.” Yes he does, and ‘seeing her’ softens some of his edges and brings out the best in him.
This is the first book in a new series, and one that I highly recommend.
“Cameron steps up to the counter, completely oblivious to the fact that my pulse just kicked up about ten notches. It’s like a stampede of happy little horses start galloping through my veins. Giddy-up! There’s Cameron!”
‘Are We There Yet?’ by Savannah Scott took me on a wonderful road trip adventure from Ohio to California on the one and only route 66. I loved the pit stops, the growth and the fun these characters have along the way!
I fell in love with the characters, the best friend’s brother and childhood friends to more, the forced proximity, the unique settings, the small hometown, the humor and the sweet and swoony slow burn romance! This book is so soo cute and I absolutely loved going on this epic road trip with Ben, Cameron, Madeline and Riley!
Read for: ☀️Opposites attract, serious/sunshine ☀️Best friend’s brother/childhood friends ☀️She falls first but he falls hard ☀️Epic road trip on Route 66 in a VW bus ☀️The amazing quotes that start each chapter ☀️The chemistry ☀️visiting Bordeaux again ☀️That first kiss ☀️His nickname for her ☀️This fun group of friends and family ☀️Fun and unique settings ☀️The sweetest romance
I love Cam and Riley. Their story really is the cutest. Their childhood flashbacks and the moments and memories they share together were my favorite! She is a fun, bubbly, ray of sunshine, and he’s a serious, driven, dream boat. Their story is sweet, touching and their happily ever after was everything! This book will make you laugh, make you smile, and it’ll touch your heart!!! This romcom is a must read!!! I completely loved it!
Thank you so much to the author for the arc copy. All opinions are my own.
As much as I was bummed for the Getting Shipped series to end, I must say that the Love Trippin' series is shaping up to be every bit as wonderful... and I am so here for all of it. Are We There Yet? starts at in Bordeaux (that's Bored-Ox for those who haven't read the previous series) before starting off on an adventure along Route 66. Those of us who enjoyed the previous series will definitely enjoy seeing a few familiar characters, but don't worry... those new to Savannah Scott's books will be able to enjoy this one just fine too.
Two things to know about me--- my dream car is a VW Bus and when my husband and I lived in Southern California, we would drive to the Midwest (Indiana/Illinois) and back at least once a year--- most often traveling right along Route 66. As such, Route 66 holds a very special place for me being that it was such a huge part of the beginning of our family. Needless to say, when I saw that one of my favorites was writing a book about a group of friends road tripping along that famous route in a VW Bus, I was beyond ecstatic and had super high expectations. Thankfully, this one did not disappoint!
Cam and Riley were so cute together. The romance was definitely a bit of a slow burn... but when they finally kiss? Oh my goodness, so worth the wait! I couldn't get enough of these two. I also loved that while it was certainly a romance story, friendship played such an important role in the story too. I loved the relationships between Cam and Ben and Riley and Madeline and the value they put on those friendships. I must admit that Ben was my favorite character of all, and I so look forward to seeing his story in the next book!
Are We There Yet? is a clean, closed-door romance. The chemistry is sizzling, but nothing beyond kisses and no language. Overall, this was an absolutely fantastic read and one not to be missed! If you're looking for your next great RomCom read, this needs to be it!
**I received an ARC for consideration. All opinions are my own.
Book: Are We There Yet? Author: Savannah Scott Format: ebook Genre: Rom-Com Spice: Sweet Romance (just kissing) POV: DUAL Troupe: best friends brother / Grumpy Sunshine
It’s available in Kindle Unlimited
This book was soooooo good! I loved reading it! It’s perfect for summer/road trip season.
Riley & Cameron 🥰 swoon.
She has liked him FOREVER. Cameron was oblivious. She was willing to move on and he was just preparing for the real world.
Forced proximity can truly bring to tight things that were and were not there before.
I definitely recommend this book!! It will make you feel like you’re on a road trip with them. Laughing and enjoying all the pit stops!! Seriously, I loved being able to see what the actual areas look like when I did an internet search.
It made me laugh and made me cry! I liked that each character even side characters began to change. Even though we don’t have side character stories, it’s a reminder that everyone is growing and learning.
I truly enjoy when authors write side characters that you fall for. Anyone else wanna know about Ben 🙋🏻♀️ haha!!
Overall,
I like that it isn’t super instant love!! They have known each other since they were kids!! So it helps to see the way the friendship evolved.
The ending was filled with sadness, but also such sweet happiness! I loved every part of this story!!
If you like: Dual pov Road trip shenanigans Fun destinations Laugh out loud moments Nickname 💕 Slow burn Clean romance Grumpy sunshine Sweet romance
I was given a complimentary copy of this book and the review is my own opinion.
Savannah Scott is making us leave Bordeaux! This is the first book in a new series that starts off in Bordeaux, OH, the fictional town where her previous Getting Shipped series takes place.
We get to on a road trip along iconic Route 66 with 4 lifelong friends as they head to Marbella Island, the setting for the new series. This was a fun summer read. There were such fun stops along the route.
I really enjoyed reading the part through Arizona where I had actually been. It brought back personal fun memories. Savannah wrote descriptions that make you feel like you're riding along in the VW bus with the gang.
Along with the fun of the road trip, we have the sweet and swoony romance building between Riley and Cam. Cam is Riley's best friend's older brother. I'm not usually a big fan of that trope, but I've read 2 of them that I absolutely loved this month. (This is the second one.)
I was given an advanced complimentary digital copy of this book and am happily and voluntarily leaving an honest review. I will also be purchasing my own copy once it is released.
If you loved the getting “shipped” series I’m sure you will love this new one just as much or more.
What’s better than a road trip from Ohio to California along Route 66 with four lifelong friends in a vintage VW van? There was no scarcity of fun and surprises along the way.
If you love friends to lovers, close proximity, and best friend’s brother this book is made for you! I enjoyed all the pit stops along the way, the sound track and the exploration of the meaning and responsibilities of friendship. This was a great coming to know yourself story with fun and warmth along the way.
While I was so sad to see Savannah Scott’s Getting Shipped! series end, I was so pumped for the next adventure. And an adventure it was. Riley, Madeline, Cameron and Ben embark on a road trip from Ohio to California. Madeline and Cameron are siblings. Riley and Madeline are best friends. And Riley’s harboring some secret feelings for our boy Cam.
Things I Loved: •Cameron Falls HARD: While Riley fell first, when Cameron fell he fell fast and hard. And I loved it so much. I loved watching Cameron take notice of Riley as more than just his sister’s best friend. And when he began to realize just how great Riley was those feelings came so fast and furious and it was just so fun to see him completely gone for this girl he had known his whole life. •The Road Trip Setting: I thought this was a really fun take on the forced proximity trope. I loved reading Scott’s descriptions of Route 66 and their stops along the way. And while this is a romance, it’s just as much a story of friendship and these four friends on a trip together made me all kinds of nostalgic for my college friends and the things we used to do. •Ben: If you loved Duke in Censorshipped you will love Ben. I loved Ben’s personality and comic relief and I also loved when he put two and two together about Riley and Cam. He constantly cracked me up and I cannot WAIT to read about how he wins over Summer in Book 2. •The Glimpses of Bordeaux, Ohio: While this story is about a road trip, it does start in Bordeaux and we get to see several familiar faces. I loved getting to revisit that sweet town that some of my absolute favorite books are set in.
Savannah Scott can do no wrong where I’m concerned and this book is continued proof. Thank you so much Savannah for the ARC! I loved getting to travel down Route 66 with this crew and I can’t wait to see what kind of adventures they get into on Marbella Island.
This one comes out Saturday so don’t miss it!
This is a closed door romance with mild innuendo and no language.
ATTENTION PLEASE! Savannah Scott has a NEW SERIES and let me just say, what a grand kickoff book! Are We There Yet? is packed full of fun and lots of swoon! This is a perfect summer read and it will 100% make you want to take a road trip!
This story is a wonderful bridge between our beloved town of Bordeaux and the new series setting in California. I absolutely loved the road trip aspect of the book. So many cool places and adventures with our 4 best friends! I loved each and every character so much! And it felt like you were right there taking a road trip alongside of them. (Each state line photo I mentally inserted myself in 😂.) I genuinely think I would’ve enjoyed this book if the plot had solely been all about 4 friends taking a cross country trip… but the romance really was an added bonus! Best friend’s brother/sister’s best friend. Always a great trope! I really enjoyed seeing Cameron finally wake up when it came to Riley and having Riley’s actual dreams come true before her very eyes. Their opposites attract vibe was perfect!
There were so many sweet and tender moments! I loved the open communication and feelings between Cam and Riley. And while we did have a few hiccups along the way, everything came out right in the end. And WHAT AN ENDING. Hello epilogue! All the happy feels! I can’t wait for Ben’s story next! This series is going to be a total hit!
I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. I was not required to leave a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Riley + Madeline are traveling back to UCLA for their final year in college and Cam + Ben are traveling to Marbella Island to start their careers. With one final "hoorah", the four friends pack up to travel the historic Route 66 in an epic road trip adventure. Riley has always had a crush on her best friend's older brother. Never in her wildest dreams did she think he would feel the same. But on a road trip across the country, things begin to change between Riley and Cam. It's like Cam is seeing his little sister's best friend for the Friday time.
I absolutely adored Cam and Riley. From the moment you meet them, you know they just fit. You have an epic road trip with 4 best friends, best friends older brother, some "It's always been you" with a little "I've always been here"... The adventures and mayhem along the way kept me laughing and turning the pages quickly.
This is the best summer romance read! With all the swooniness (+a little sizzle) without the spice! Epic side characters with so much more adventure to be had. I cannot wait for Ben's story next!!!
Savannah Scott has done it again folks! I devoured this wonderful, fun, sweet road trip romcom! This book has one of the best settings, a road trip down historic Route 66 in a VW van-how cool is that?! I loved the friendship dynamic between Riley, Madeline and Cam and Ben. Ben is definitely a Duke Jr.! Cam is a serious young man, and I loved how he slowly realized that Riley cared about him just as he is. That realization allowed him to let loose more and seeing that side of him more as the story progressed. Riley is a ball of Sunshine! She’s an optimist and I love how she made the most out of each moment. Cam and Riley had amazing chemistry together and I ate up every time they were together on page! And that’s a lot 😉😉 Things I loved:
🗺️ road trip games 🗺️ taking tunes calling the stops 🗺️ State sign pictures 🗺️ every time Cam calls her Sunshine 🗺️ Ben’s words of wisdom 🤪 🗺️ the Cadillac Ranch 🗺️ dear Gladys 🗺️ the Grand Canyon 🗺️ one of best ever first kisses!!!!
I loved this book, and I can’t wait to continue this new series! It had the comfort of starting off from our beloved Bordeaux OH and now we have a whole new series to anxiously await! I cannot wait for Ben and Summer’s story later this year! And I really really want to see what happens to Madeline next. This book has all the coming of age, new adult, and summer vibes! It’s absolutely wonderful and you don’t want to miss it!!!
Thank you to the author for arc copy. All thoughts are my own.
Can I give a book more than 5 stars? Well, this is my review, so I'm giving Are We There Yet ALL the stars.
First off, I was grinning like a madwoman before I even started this book. I mean, it's a Savannah Scott book! I was SO excited to read this! But it was also so much more than I expected.
Of course this is a romcom with everything you want in that, but for me personally, above all else, this was a book about friendship. Friendship that goes the distance. This quote:
"I've never lived away from you." "I know. Maybe it's time." "To live apart?" "To trust our friendship to go the distance."
It literally made me tear up. For those who have friends like this, treasure them.
I have so many notes on this book, and I can't begin to cover them all. Just read the book. You might even find some old friends from Bordeaux there. 😉
~I was given a complimentary copy of this book. No positive review was required, and all opinions are my own.~
To quote the infamous Doc Brown…”GREAT SCOTT!!!” Dang Savannah you pulled out all the stops for this epic road trip romance. Left no stone unturned, no road untraveled.
I ❤️ road trips, they are my favorite thing to do. The windows down, the music blasting, singing to the top of my lungs, not a care in the world, while making memories with my most favorite people on the world. Nothing better in my book—unless there is an amazing romance book about a quirky, fun loving girl and her secret crush, her best friend’s serious, a little uptight brother, taking a road trip across the country! Riley is calling the shots, and picking the stops. She has this trip planned down to the second. Her goal is to pack every possible thing in while keeping her feelings in check.
That dip in the road that sends your belly to your throat … that is how it feels when you kiss me. ~ Kellie Elmore
You will LOVE: Quotes heading each chapter The sweet ride Riley’s journal Road trip playlists Sign selfies Magic finger beds Front seat therapy session The winks The sunset Pinky touches!!!! Birthday surprise First kiss!!!!! The sunrise Cameron 2.0 Late night talking Bats! Ultimate grand gesture!
“…If that sunset told you anything, it’s that our days will come and go too quickly. We need to focus on what really matters in life. Don’t waste one more sunset wishing away your life. Take action.”
You’ll definitely get your kicks on this Route 66 trip!
Thanks to the author for my advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
Who wouldn’t want to drive down Route 66 in a vintage VW Bus? This story was filled with love, friendship, romance, hilarious adventures, and once in a lifetime experiences. I loved reading about all their fun stops along their road trip and following along with their adventures. I even made a map tracking all their daily stops. It was a great way to put myself in their shoes. What a fun group of characters! I love all their different but complimentary personalities. And Madeline and Riley’s friendship was sweet. I also loved Ben! He was such a fun character!! And Cam & Riley’s love story story did not disappoint! I loved watching Cam come to the realizations of his feelings for Riley!! And that grand gesture and ending was *chefs kiss*!!! This was a great summer read!
What a fun road trip slow burn sweet clean romance! I love Riley and Cam, they are so sweet!! The crush to love and their opposites attract!! Adorable. Here are all of the things:
🚌 dual point of view 🚌 grumpy/sunshine 🚌 best friend’s brother 🚌 summer feels 🚌 road trip on Route 66 🚌 pining 🚌 the best first kiss EVER 🥰 🚌 THAT EPILOGUE 🚌 it’s the first in what will be a series on an island!
Ah, if you love the idea of long time friends becoming something more, and growing up… travel and trust and fun pit stops along the way? This is perfect for you! Easy 5 stars for me. 🤩
I love a book that takes me on a journey and this was one of the best. Riley, her best friend Madeline, Madeline's older brother, Cam, and Cam's best friend, Ben take a road trip from small town Bordeaux, OH to California for college and work.
On Riley's vintage VW van, the group takes on Route 66 and all it's fun landmarks. Along the way, Riley tries to suppress her childhood crush on Cam, while Cam wakes up and realizes Riley is no longer just his sister's best friend.
The road trip adventures were fun, and I enjoyed following along with every stop! It was fun looking up pictures of the locations and restaurant menus.
You won't want to miss this book that starts off a new series! A road tripping sweet romance with a best friends brother! You won't be able to put this one down!
I received an ARC from the author and all opinions are my own.
