How many times have we said, ‘if I knew then what I know now’? Time Change: Book One allows the reader to enjoy the ride and exercise their imagination in this fun and fast paced book. Alex weaves in historical characters and keeps them true to who they were yet allows their personalities to color the story in a most effective manner. The reader should understand up that this is a Sci-fi fiction and let the story Alex is weaving unfold in its own time. Where is he taking us? Will the war be avoided? And, what if it is…how does it change the reality that we know? What are the implications of changing the timelines on technology? It is fun to just play the mind games as one reads and then seek how Alex resolves the many questions.

The clever introduction of Samuel Clemens and The Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s court appears to be Alex’s way of setting the stage for the reader to engage their imagination and challenge and enjoy the alternative history that is to follow in the Time Change series. I’m hooked…if we are who we are because of where we were when…then who would we be if the ‘when’ was something totally different?

If you like time travel stories, this is a good one. It's not the best, but it's a good book. I just wish they spent more time developing the main character instead of just throwing him in the past, but overall, it's a good read. I can't wait to read the next in the series.
