Another random charity shop find, and a good reminder of why I like to root around in such places! This is a fascinating little book, short and succinct and sweet, concise and absolutely gripping. I love reading about all kinds of disasters, and this had a good combination of things you may have heard of, and ones you most definitely haven't. Despite the fact that each entry was short, it was focused and detailed and written with clear expertise and passion. It's made me want to look deeper into all these stories and find some more to dig into, which is always a good sign. Genuinely very immersive and richly described -- I enjoyed it a lot more than I anticipated.
I enjoyed reading this book it not only tells of ship disasters but the uncanny way they happened and the abuse of seaf.aring qualifications by rogue countries and the greed of ship owners who would use cheap lowly Qualified officers to save money. In short a good read
