Rockstars expect women to show up at their hotel room, but when a woman shows up with an infant and tells Davey he is the father, his world is turned upside down.
*
Anna is a teacher and part-time waitress, desperate to make enough to pay off debts left to her by an ex-boyfriend who made her life a living hell. When her boss schedules her for an extra shift, he tells her it's her job to take care of a special guest... lead guitarist of Chasing Cross, Davey. The second Anna meets eyes with Davey, she feels something she's wanted for a long time. But with someone famous? That's impossible. Besides, Davey is there with a date.
* When Davey returns to the restaurant, sans date, he asks to see Anna. She doesn't understand what he would want with her. He is a man with a big heart, kind eyes, and the true power that only a real rockstar could have. Then Anna learns the truth of Davey's life, from his haunted past to his rocky present. Still, she longs to be part of his future. But when Anna's own past turns potentially deadly, life and love suddenly collide in a way that could hurt everyone and leave someone dead. __
This was a really good book and I can't understand why the first book was erotic, but this is not too me the sex scenes were better in this book. Davey is a guitarist for Chasing Cross, when a woman shows up at the hotel where the band is staying and claims her son is Davey's child. He is determined to do the right thing for the child and his mother. He takes the child's mother to dinner to discuss the situation and meets Anna, the waitress. The attraction between Anna and Davey is a complicated in an already complicated situation. Anna is a school teacher working a part time job to pay off creditors because she let her ex boyfriend Eddie ruin her credit to the point she is about to lose her house that she got from her grandmother. Cassy the women claiming that Davey is the father of her baby I didn't like her from the start she wanted Davey and tried to use her baby to get him. The thing that I really liked about this book was that it was sweet and Davey when he took her to his hotel room he didn't try to have sex with her. I would have liked to learn more about Anna's past other than that she was abused by her ex who tried to use Anna to get money from Davey who was stabbed by the ex. Overall this was a really good book and series I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Why did I read this one when I didn't quite like the first one in this series? I don't know. But I didn't quite like this one either.
What I liked: - the beginning. There was potential.
What I didn't like: - the end. The same to-be-continued -ending as the first one has. Not good. Really. Don't force feed your next book to your readers, please. - the characters. Pretty shallow. I didn't like them. - again too easy. You found out that someone tries to get money from you by using a child and you give the child a trust fund? Really?

Book two in the Chasing Cross series. Told in dual POV, can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. Each book about a different band member finding their HEA. The book is short so the story is insta-love. I liked that Davey wanted to do right by Donald. Anna is sweet and just what Davey needs. I enjoyed the story and will be continuing the series!
Again, a thoroughly enjoyable rockstar romance. This one had much more angst for the main characters, Davey & Anna. I'm still not a fan of Insta-love 😕
We start where Johnny and Jess's story ends, with the bombshell regarding one of Davey's one night stands, and a sweet little baby boy!
We know that Davey play guitar in the band, Chasing Cross - with Johnny, his brother Danny, Chris and of Course Nick!
So Davey is informed he is the father of this little baby boy the girl does a great job of convincing everyone, it appears that Davey has Daddy issues of his won, and wants to do the right thing.
I did think that something was a bit off about the Mom, Cassie, as we didn't get much of her back story, so I was a bit surprised when we begin to meet Anna.
So Anna, beautiful, curly haired lady, who is an Art and Music teacher but was doing extra work to pay off some debts her ex had incurred, she is working as a waitress.
Davey is so enamored by Anna that when he is finished talking with Cassie about the baby, Donald he goes back to have a drink with her.
The whole Cassie and Davey situation feels very one sided, Cassie seems to have ulterior motives which begins to unfold, Favey is hellbent of doing what he things is HIS right thing to do not THE right thing to do.
Davey & Anna spend more time together but keeping things very platonic. Davey keeps his promise and goes and visits Cassie and Donald as he really believes he is the father. The little lad is happy for Davey to feed him considering Davey is really a complete stranger. The visit foes a bit weird, Cassies friends appear at the door and it soon turns into a circus. The girls start taking pictures of 'the Rockstar' it turns out he was set up but still doesn't know if he is the baby's father and leaves demanding paternity tests.
Davey then gets a call from Anna, she sounds different and he cannot place why! Anna starts to demand money, which is totally against all we know about Anna. We soon learn that Eddie her Ex found out that she has been seeing a Rockstar, Davey goes over with her demands, when it all goes down and Davey ends up hurt. Anna finally gets to the hospital after the incident but is chased off by Cassie ! ooh nasty cow! She informs Anna about the paternity!
I loved how we saw Davey's vulnerable side but we also get to see his cocky rockstar side!
I fell in love with the first book of this series which I picked up as a freebie, but decided to take a chance and spend the $4 for the next one in the series. After reading this one it is impossible to decide which is my favorite. There was a lot more drama in this one, but still a great story and fantastic couple at the heart of it. I've mentioned before that I'm pretty picky about my rockstar romances, and like the first one, this passed my test. One thing I love about both is that the heroines are strong women making their own way (one with much more difficulty than the other, but she is working her butt off to make up for past mistakes.) Neither are groupies, and while there are times I can appreciate a groupie actually catching the attention of the band and falling in love, non-groupies tend to be much more interesting. I'm actually still a bit surprised at how much I really adore these (I've already started on the third and will be picking up the rest of the series as I finish the current ones) because I will shallowly admit that one of the reasons I turn to the rockstar romances is for really smutty sex and these don't have that. But the stories hold their own and I am completely intrigued to see the softer side of the rest of the band. I believe I read that the first one is available for free through 2014 on Amazon - definitely take a chance on it and see if you don't become addicted. And if you need a little more drama than fluff (the first one definitely has some drama, but that is nothing compared to the second) definitely check out this one. Futher reviews will follow soon, because I can tell I will not be satisfied until I have read them all.
I just finished this book yesterday. I liked the lead guitarist. He was cool, living his life, doing what he loved as any typical rocker, and then some chick shows up with a kid and claims he is the father. Since his own father left him when he was little, this weighed heavy on him and our hero takes it upon himself to try and take care of things on his own instead of letting his manger manage it and make sure the kid is even his. He meets said chick that night and takes her out to dinner to discuss things. There is an instant attraction to the women waiting on them, and the hero comes back later, alone, to see her again. For the first time in his life, he wants to have a conversation with a woman, not just take her to bed. She has her own baggage to deal with and things happen before they can really be together. I enjoyed the story and will continue with the series.
Davey is stunned when Cassy shows up and announces that her son his his. She wants money and he just wants to do the right thing.
Then he meets Anna. She is his perfect match. They hit it off but her ex is making her life a living hell with all the debt he has caused her. When her ex, Eddie, breaks in and makes Anna call Davey, he knows something is off. Things go south and Davey is hurt. When Anna shows up at the hospital, Cassy runs her off. When Davey finds out that he isn't the father, all he wants is Anna.
This was the second in the series and quite honestly 20 times better than the first. Don't get me wrong I really liked the first one about Johnnie and Jess, but that book was too short and the characters nor their love story weren't developed enough. The story of Davey and Anna didn't fall prey to those shortcomings. The only thing that could have made it better was a smidge more Johnnie and Jess to bring that on and solidify the series. I hope the authors steady improvement in these areas continues with the next in the series.
Davey is a guitarist for Chasing Cross, when a woman shows up at the hotel where the band is sraying and claims her son is Davey's child. He is determined to do the right yhing for the child and his mother. He takes the child's mother to dinner to discuss the situation and meets Annie, the waitress. The attractin between Annie and Davey is a complication in an already complicated situation. Great book of romance between very different people, with a twist of deceit by a greedy woman.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair review.
I got this book from the author as a gift. I loved this book. This is about Davey the guitarist from Chading Cross. Who says rockstars can have it all. Book 1 ended with a woman coming to Daveys hotel room and announcing to him that he is the father of her 14 month old son. Davey will do everything in his power to take care of the child if it is his. During this time he falls for Anna. Anna is broken. Will they be able to have a relationship? I guess you will need read this book and find out. I am now moving onto book 3.
I was lucky enough to receive of copy of ARC from the author. Can I be in Gone by Autumn? This is a love story of Tanner & Jules but it does have some twists. Tanner is the guitarist in the group and Jules is an out of work singer who is waitressing until she gets her break. She is lucky to get an audition with the group when she meets Tanner the chemistry is instant. I really enjoyed their story I am sure to see them in the next book. Thanks again Karolyn great book
I really liked the hero (Davey guitar playing hunk) in this story though I think he could have been a little less compassionate especially as a Rockstar where woman are bound to try to take advantage of you. But I also like that he was willing to step up to the challenge so he wouldn't follow in his fathers footstep. And I thinks he's a totally hottie
A história é bem previsível mas prende a atenção do leitor. Esta história tem uma ex vadia e um pouco mais de drama. Sem cliffhanger e com HEA! Gostei e vou acompanhar a série!
--------------------
The story is quite predictable but holds the reader's attention. This story has a ex bitch and a little more drama. No cliffhanger and HEA! I liked and I will accompany the series!
The story of Davey & Anna was a great read. The author did a great job making this who story seem real and was easy to get caught up in. To the point of actually tipping my coffee cup too far & spilling onto myself & not realizing it until it soaked through my sweatshirt & t-shirt. Loved this series so far & can't wait to get to the next one.
Davey and Anna meet and it's love at first sight even though Cassy is watching. I would have liked to know where they lived and if she continues teaching (maybe that will be included in the other stories). This book had more drama than Johnnie's story so I look forward to reading about the other guys, especially RICK.
I am loving this series. Davey and Anna's story had a little more drama going on than the last book, but you still had that instant spark. While I enjoy a lengthy novel, sometimes you just need a little pick me up to make you smile. That is what London Casey's Brothers of Rock series does for me.
I think the story... the book needs to be a little more put together... Everything was too fast... the boys falling in love after a night of sex.. it's just... I don't know I hoped for it to be a little more dramatic and longer.
intents and purposes, not intensive purposes. I think the author meant "someone" and "hopeful," not "some" and "hopeless." That's in the first three chapters. A proofreader would be helpful because the errors are a little jarring in an otherwise good read.
The grammatical errors stand out and often times ruin the flow of the book. It has a good story line and some characters are developed while others are left flat. The way the sex scenes are written it's as if someone without any experience with romance or love wrote them.
The story was entertaining. It was cute. Steamy scenes. The only thing I was annoyed at was how many times the phrase, "Davey from Chasing Cross" was mentioned. At one time, I audibly yelled, "OMFG WE GET IT." But I still enjoyed the story very much!
