A somewhat pedantic and slow-paced account of a year in the life of a university president. At the same time, you can't helping liking the author, a man who is indisputably devoted to academic, his family, his students and his university. Gives pause for thought as to how in the world a man or woman can balance all of those responsibilities.

Interesting. Leadership can be a lonely position in which you need thick skin. I enjoyed the style of writing and found it stimulating reading at times. Lots of name dropping!
