“Kate had made Francesca the centre of her world, and had passed on her courage to his daughter. That was why Francesca was so happy, a fact he had chosen not to recognise up to now. But that didn’t mean he wouldn’t do everything in his power to take Francesca from Kate.”
No, big NO! He was right to be angry at Kate for hiding his daughter but still thinking like that after the time they spent together? He was not a hero.
And why did she go to his room and made love to him while she knew what he was thinking about her?
Finally how could losing a child(twin of their daughter) change his attitude towards her? I mean it’s awful but that also meant she hided two children from him? I’m so confused.
But because H was cruel enough till the end, 2.5 stars.

It felt rushed. I cried my eyes out at this one though. Very emotional at times and the hero could most certainly be a bastard.

Gah! This book was awful. This is an “I wish I didn’t!l but I did.

The H was a cruel, cold bastard.
The h was a woman with a lot of issues and secrets. But she was a good mom.
There’s the cousin and aunt of the h who randomly, without consent, takes the h’s 4 year old secret to Italy and causes all sorts of drama.

That was bad enough and then the end of the book happens. And I am still confused! The H hates the h for keeping his daughter secret for 4 years. He treats her like dirt. Then he learns her big secret, which was sooo anticlimactic btw, and in the next moment he adores the h and all is forgotten and forgiven. They become the perfect nuclear family.

I hated the H. The h was equally annoying. The aunt and cousin were nitwits. There wasn’t one redeeming character.

I’m not spending another second on this book. I am done.

Ok I gave this one two stars cause the plot is great but the way the author made the two main characters finally get together emotionally, was BS!

So this woman has a four year old daughter. She had a one night stand with a hot Italian movie producer who came to the small English town scouting out a location for a movie. The chick, Kate, was 18 at the time and a virgin! After she found out she was pregnant her parents kicked her out and has had nothing to do with her since. She also then saw the man she got pregnant by, Santino, splashed all over the gossip magazines fighting a woman in court about whether or not he is the father of her child. She choose not to seek him out and put herself and her child through all the gossip and ridicule.

Fast forward 5 years later after she last saw him and she is called onto the set of one of his movies to help smooth things out for her actress cousin. Santino is immediately interested in a repeat of their previous "meeting".

A few days later Kate's aunt Meredith, brings her daughter to the studio as a surprise and Santino takes one look at her and knows that it is his daughter. He is furious and makes it clear that he doesn't trust her and he is hiring lawyers to fight for custody. The little girl is immediately crazy about him and they begin spending time together but because she is so young and not quite comfortable with him yet she doesn't want Kate to leave her side, so Santino insists that she and her aunt Meredith come along to stay a few days at his mansion in the country.

One night she slips into his room and pretty much attacks him and they spend all night making love over and over again. In the morning he is back to his cold clipped responses and informs her that nothing has changed. She feels heart broken.

She gets dressed and heads down to breakfast and Meredith asks her when Santino leaves the room to take a call, if she told him. He walks in to over hear and immediately gets suspicious and demands to talk to her alone and makes her tell him. She starts crying and tells him that her daughter was a twin and that she had a son too but he had died. This is where I had a problem... Santino suddenly feels guilty for being so hard on Kate and decides that he understands why she never sought him out 5 years earlier. WHATEVER!! If he was really that hateful and unforgiving, there is no way that her having lost one of his children would have soften his heart to her. If anything it would have inflamed his hatred and blame he felt towards her! BS! So I was totally with the book until that happened.

h was only 18, her parents threw her out and she was scared (because ow claimed she had the H's child so he took her court and won it, the ow was humiliated) so I think she did the logical decision when she didn't tell the H about her pregnancy. I totally understood her but the H was a bitch. He is supposed to be a successful businessman producer but I didn't see any logic in his actions. The h tried to reason with him and was very kind to him but he was just so cruel that it almost made me cry. The things he said were so hurtful, she begged him for mercy and he ignored her. Also I didn't really understood how all the their problems got solved because she told him she miscarried one of the twins and why she was so dramatic about it as if it had happened right then and there. I felt that many parts of the book were rushed, the h was one of the many women the H had an affair with so how come he remembered her ? If the h fell in love with him at first sight why did she jump in his bed directly, why not try to make him love her too? How could she just let go of the man she loves after one night ? The H told her suddenly he loves her in the last part of the book after she told him about the miscarriage but I saw only hatred from start almost to the ending. All those times they had sex it was the h that went to him first. He never took any steps towards the h. He didn't give her anything and what he gave he wanted back. In the end it was really hard for me to believe in his love, I still think I don't really believe in it.

The H is a douche bag producer and doesn't deserve a daughter as wonderful as the one he and the h created in their one night stand 5 years back. The h for all her talk of confidence and independence comes across as a doormat who can't show a spine. The H is a misogynist who literally has written of the entire women population but proves a sterling example of how awesome the other half of the population is as he proves himself to be user and keeps the h anxious and blubbering and still she still loves him! I guess there is no accounting for willful blindness.

It's a good book, however, the twist at the end was not what I expected and it didn't made the ending as great as it could have been.

Very, very, very weird. Kate never told Santino Rossi about the child they made their one night together. She didn't know him well enough to know if he would make a good father. She herself was kickout and disowned by her own parents, taking up shelter with her aunt. So when her cousin needs a manager, Kate feels a loyalty to go to her, even if that means she will see Santino. When Santino sees Kate he is more than wanting to reconnect, but he can't help but see a difference in her. Wanting to know more they spend time together. What he learns is so far from what he was expecting. A four year old daughter, Francesca is what she is hiding from her. From that moment the truth between them is over. All he feels towards Kate is anger. He immediatly starts the process for custody. Then all of a sudden when he learns another secret from Kate, he turns a 360 and loves her and wants her to come work for him! It's insane.

I could feel the emotions, and passion. Kate and Santino had a one night stand when Kate was 18. That one night changed her life forever. She got pregnant, and loved being a mother to her beautiful daughter. 5 years later Kate, and Santino had to work together. She had no idea how to tell him he was a father. She didn't want to tell him, until she knew he would be a good father to Francesca. The timing of letting him know was taking out of her hands when her aunt showed up with Francesca at work. One look at the girl, and he knew that Francesca was his daughter. Santion was a very rich man, and she knew she couldn't fight him in a long drawn out court case. She is a mother, and she would fight for her daughter, with everything she has in her. I admired her. Kate was a very strong heroine. This turned out to be a sweet book.

I read this a long time back... I was with it thinking about the slow love scenario ... instead I got an abrupt turn about which throw-ed me out of kilter and absolutely ruined it for me. I was gaping by the time it ended and thinking what the hell??

Ending really jumbled together and I couldn't figure out H's abrupt change of mind.
