EVE OF WARFARE Lycans, vampires, and cherubs... oh my.
All Evangeline Hollis wants is to stay out of trouble long enough to lose the Mark of Cain, which drafted her into hunting demons for God. A former agnostic, she's still recovering from being the latest point of contention between the two men in her life--Cain and Abel. Now she's working for a cherub who thinks putting her undercover as a housewife is the best way to ferret out a rogue vampire hiding in an idyllic Orange County, California residential community.
Eve knows when she's being used as a pawn in the celestial political game. Now, she just has to figure out who's the greater threat: the vampire she's hunting, the cherub yanking her chain, or the two brothers vying to play the role of her spouse--'til death do them part. Which in her line of work, could happen any minute...
EVE OF SIN CITY Sin City--Las Vegas--is home to humans and Infernals of all sorts: the good, the bad, and the ugly. If you ask Evangeline Hollis, "good" is in short supply, "ugly" might be amusing, but "bad" is most definitely her business. Eve is a Mark, a heavenly bounty hunter, and Las Vegas is her territory.

I had all four books for a while before I read them. I didn't know what to expect as I hadn't read any Sylvia Day books with this type of character. Went I read them and don't know why I waited. I absolutely love it and can't wait for the next book.
4.5 stars. I knocked 1/2 star off because I didn't like Sin City as much. It seemed as though it was an excerpt of a larger book. I hope we do get book 4.
What was the point of these novellas? They were intended to answer all the questions left open after the third book but that didn’t happen. Eve and Alec are married but has she truly committed to him and given up Reed? Reed sure hasn’t given up on her. He told her he’ll wait for her to finish her experiment with Alec and Eve wanted him to kiss her while they were dancing in Vegas? WTF? I can’t stand her lack of commitment.
Also, what happened with the baby? Did Alec and Eve conceive while they were both mortal? What about Alec being an Archangel still? Is he still unable to love Eve while being one or did marrying her when they were mortal before he switched back fix that problem? Also, what about Satan and the apocalypse? That was completely left out.
These two novellas had minor plot points that were rushed and added nothing to the story. Again, this series and these novellas especially didn’t feel like Day wrote them. They lacked structure, clarity, and emotion. I wasn’t happy with this at all and this just reinforces my decision to not reread this series again. I’m so disappointed because I usually love Day’s books.

These short novellas served as glimpses into the the world of the Marked but ultimately, neither fully satisfied me because they were so short. I’m glad to see a step toward resolution in “Marked”, and the story itself was very good, but it left me wanting more. I can only hope Ms. Day has something else planned. But, like another reviewer said, this is not the time I’ve been sucked in to one of her series’s only to have it fizzle at the end. I don’t know if her publishers pressure her to finish a series before she’s ready or if it’s her own problem as a writer (not being able to come up with a satisfying end), but I gotta say it’s getting old. I’m not sure how much more of her stuff I’m willing to invest myself in from now own.
I enjoy this author and love the idea of this work/series (along with Renegade Angels) but there are a few things that bother me about the execution. I'll still read more as/if she writes them.
