This knitting book has been my "go to" knitting guide since I started knitting in 2008. I bought this book then. Erica Knight edited this book of about 250 stitches to knit. There is a mixture of easy, medium, and intermediate patterns. I learned to knit many of these patterns in order to make dish cloths. Dishcloths are a great project that's not time consuming and you have a finished project in a short time. Dishcloths make great gifts - Christmas, house warming, birthdays, etc. Some patterns have become pillows or scarves. Each pattern is illustrated with written directions below the pictur.
I love learning new stitches and this book has great instructions. Just don't borrow it from the library, like I did, because then you'll have to return it and you'll wish you still had it for reference. Sorry, Dad... No dis to the library, though. I mean if I hadn't found it there I wouldn't have known what a good book it is!
Wonderful, fantastic reference tool. I go back to this, and it's sisters, over and over for inspiration and ways to jazz up an otherwise boring pattern. I also use these books to turn a little yarn into a beautiful scarf with interest and detail.
Strictly speaking, a lot of the stitch patterns in this book use more than knit and purl... But I love the simplicity of the layout, and the fact that the patterns take inspiration from nature and architecture. (How beautiful is the montage at the beginning of the book!)
