Overall, this story had potential it is just my humble opinion that it fell far short, on many levels. Starting with I would have preferred the author to have kept it fictional. Not tried to use a true tragedy as the catalyst for the environmental problem.
I agree with another reviewer who said, "There is a mediocre story hidden somewhere in the numerous pages of Storm Season and Nicola Cameron's preaching better eco/green living."
So many fragmented things could have been used and yet weren't....things,feelings, just magically all better. Even the menage sex just fell short for me. ~sigh~
I am also very confused as to why the author felt it necessary to use a true tragedy that cost 11 men their lives and yet not get details correct. I'm baffled at why Fort Myers and Naples were brought into the story.
Here is a snippet of an actually news story about the disaster...
"The Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded and sank off the Louisiana coast in April 2010, killing 11 workers and spewing nearly 5 million barrels of oil into the Gulf for more than 80 days. Marine life died in record numbers and coastline as far away as the Florida Panhandle were matted with tar balls. Vacationers abandoned the region in droves, fearing coastal waters were unswimmable and too dirty to fish."
Fort Myers is over 500 miles away from Pensacola, 450 miles from Panama City, not to even mention the fact that it's even further away from the Louisiana Coast where the tragedy occurred. Many other places were affected a lot worse than the Fort Myers/Naples area. Why not use one of those places? Or some made up place?

It's no secret I love ménage stories and fated mates is also something I like to read about, add in demigods, merfolk, Greek mythology, redheaded twins, an evil god bent on destroying the world, well that is something that I am gonna jump right on.
Ian, still mourning his wife and in need of a change of scenery to write his novel.
He goes to the beach house that belongs to his family and where he spent every summer growing up.
But things have changed a lot since he was there last. There are some mysterious and dangerous things at work.
Bythos and Aphos are twin sea centaurs, demigods and they watch over sea life and the health of the waters.
They have also been waiting for many many years for their 'agapetos' their mate, beloved, the one fate has decreed for them. They have watched him and waited and now Ian is finally there again and they aren't going to let him get away.
I am a sucker for paranormal stories and this one has a very interesting Greek mythology twist and a very real tie in to the BP oil spill, it's got a lot going on, I'm not even sure how to categorize it.
But I do know I loved it, it's a long story but once I started I couldn't put it down.
The dynamics between the three men is very interesting and fluctuates and changes throughout the story. The redheaded twins really want to make their human mate happy, spoil and treasure him, but being demigods means that normal relationship rules don't always apply.
By and Aph are trying to stop an evil Being that is hunting humans and sea creatures alike and they are also working on a way to negate all the damage of the oil spill. They have secrets they can't tell Ian about and Ian doesn't always handle that well.
He is feeling guilty about moving on after losing his wife Diana, he's trying to write his sci-fi thriller and keep up with two sexy brothers, as you can imagine that's a lot for Ian. But there is a lot more to Ian than even he knows.
I don't want to give any more away, because part of the fun was finding out who was who or who was what, and what was going to happen next.
There is intrigue and hidden agendas, jealousy and breaking of trust, a few surprises and well, it's a ride and I was sad when I had to get off.
A few things I want to point out, although this is a ménage and with twin brothers there is no actual brocest, they don't have sex or even kiss each other and it ends with a HFN but since it's the first in a series there are unresolved issues and I can't wait to read the next one.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this book! When I started reading, I was expecting mostly porn with just a dash of throw away plot thrown in, but I was completely wrong. I loved the world building in this with the Greek gods and all of the mystical beings. I thoroughly enjoyed the dynamics between demigods Bythos and Aphros and human Ian and how they interacted together, and yes, there was some hot lovin' going on too! Yum!
I thought this was just excellent, I could not stop reading! This is definitely one of the best menage stories I have ever read. I'm hoping that there will be a follow up and more with By, Aph, and Ian. And hopefully soon!

November 6, 2022DNF @ 36% I've had this paused for ages and finally decided to officially DNF it. It's just not interesting me at all, the relationship isn't working for me and I just don't feel like reading about environmental disasters right now

Although there are brothers in the relationship there is no ‘twincest’. Ian is looking forward to an entire summer at the family beach cottage, he hasn’t been in many years and it is just the place where he can relax and concentrate on his writing. Seeing two young men playing in the waves at the cove he decides to join them, but he could never have imagined who they really were or what they wanted from him. Bythos and Aphros are demigods and have waited many years for Ian and now he is within their grasp, convincing Ian that he is their consort isn’t hard but Ian’s heart is still held by his dead wife Diana.
So this is a paranormal/fantasy that also has a little bit of mystery and save the world from the mistakes of humans’ storyline, brilliant! Ian finds himself in the middle of an ecology nightmare when the Gulf oil spill does more damage than anyone could have ever imagined. Bythos and Aphros have the task of trying to clean up after the humans, Bythos is creating a new coral that will devour the oil and clean the water fast, but something has awoken and has been poisoned and driven insane. Aphros is given the task of destroying the twisted creatures that are being created before more humans and paranormal beings are killed. And, Ian, Ian is thrown into a world that he has no idea about and it changes him far more than any of them, but Gaia, could have known.
The relationship between Bythos, Ian and Aphros isn’t easy as they try to mesh three personalities into one relationship, they have many ups and downs as the demigods are forbidden to tell anyone some secrets and Ian wants to know everything, where protection given in secret is discovered and where lingering old love causes problems and truths are thrown out into the open. While I really liked Bythos and Aphros and the way they both were, Ian was harder to like just because of his attitude, talk about ‘I have to know everything’. Hold on Ian they are demigods who have important jobs to do whereas you are a writer, a human, so wind your neck in, sheesh talk about creating angst.
The actually storyline I loved, the Gulf oil spill being woven into a paranormal story where a resting deity is poisoned and driven insane, now that deity wants revenge on the ones who caused the poisoning. Demigods creating a new way for the planet to heal itself, trying to fix what the humans created and destroy what the deity has poisoned. A human, the consort to twin demigods who is drawn into the paranormal world and investigates for himself when he doesn’t get the answers he wants. The parts that the others gods play is great and the absolutely fantastic showdown near the end, spectacular. There are plenty of incredible sex scenes and the relationship between the three is good.
I will recommend this to those who love paranormal, fantasy, save the world, three sexy men, dangers, shattered beliefs, incredible sex and a happy for now ending.

I’ll admit it, the blurb for this book is what captured my attention. I live in Florida (on the Gulf Coast) and was excited to read a book about twin sea gods, mermaids, monsters, and ohhh, did I mention the twin sea gods? :-)
This was my first book by Nicola Cameron, but it damn sure won’t be my last. This lady can write! A perfectly written, detailed book, with very believable characters, excellent editing, and even after 333 pages, I can’t wait to jump into Book 2!
But wait, let us discuss Book 1 first! Ian West lost his wife a year ago to a repeat drunk driver. The guy just got out a program and the judge gave him back his ability to get behind the wheel. The first thing he did was get drunk, get behind the wheel and kill Diana, Ian’s wife of 10 years.
A year later Ian is still devastated and has come to his family’s summer cabin in Florida. Ian is a science fiction author, who has mainly written short stories, but now is working on his first novel and the cabin should provide a quiet peaceful place to write. He had no idea just how quiet it actually would be. When he gets to Olympic Cove, the realtor who handles his family’s cabin for season rentals tells him that no other cabins in Olympic Cove are rented because of some “odd” things that have been happening.
Since he is all alone, Ian decides to go sit on the dock naked. See….he has been having these very vivid dreams which turn into wet dreams…and he woke up sticky and took off his clothes, so of course he went to sit on the dock naked. Then two handsome guys just happen to pop up near him playing with a ball (in the dark). There begins our story with those TWIN sea gods I spoke about above.
Before we know what hit us, Ian is sandwiched in between two big sexy men, twins, brothers, and it turns out Demigods. Bythos and Aphros are the “sort-of” sons of Poseidon, the God of the Seas. There begins the adventure. They tell Ian he is their “Agapetos” which translates to Beloved and it means they are fated to be mates…all three of them. They also tell him that they have been waiting millennia just for him to be born. Talk about a pick up line!
I don’t want to say anymore, because I loved the book so much that I could just go on and on and tell you the entire story. As I said, I absolutely loved this book. I highly recommend it! I can’t wait to start Book 2. In fact I’m going to do that right now!

As the synopsis says, Ian had his whole summer already planned out, but things took an interesting turn when Ian started having some er.. special dreams. Not soon after Bythos and Aphros show up, claiming Ian is there fated consort. The issue with that? Ian is still mourning and missing his deceased wife. He isn't at all thrilled, but still we find him in an interesting position. He isn't completely receptive of the love Bythos and Aphros, are trying to give him when he first finds out, but things change.. Right?
Brythos and Aphros are incredibly gorgeous twin sea demigods. They have been watching and waiting for Ian since they first saw him when he was just a young kid. They know convincing their very human mate, that they all belong together is going to be incredible work, but they are ready and willing. Bythro is the over protective, head strong, smart, over whelming one. While Aphros is the protective (not overly), funny, charming, domesticated one (You'll see what I mean by this when you read the book.) Nothing goes completely as planned with the wooing of their consort, but these Demigods aren't giving him up without a fight. Mistakes are made, and feelings are smashed but true love always wins... Right?
Storm Season is a remarkable story filled with emotional depth, and a plot so thick trying to figure it out on your own is useless. But its good to try. Mrs. Cameron, does an exceptional job of giving us the reader and inside look at how a sibling menage could work and also ins and outs of it being successful. There isn't any brother on brother action, but boy oh boy is there action. As our hero's try to navigate their still too new, too overwhelming relationship, they also have to figure out what's really happening with the Golf Coast oil spill and why its affecting mermaids and why humans keep dying. There are more twists and turns in this book, than a New York City street block and some aren't who they seem to be. Emotions run high as everyone races against time to figure it all out, and stay together, but there are things that threaten to tear our here's apart.
Surprising and horrible things happen to Ian his men, but love tends to conquer all that stands in its way... Most of the time. Yeah, I'm a tease, but you'll be alright once you read the book. So go, get, go buy the book..

My first read of Nicola Cameron and I really enjoyed the story. We're treated to emotion, drama, action and it all works well with the romance of the main characters Ian, who is human, and Bythos and Aphros, two demigods of the ocean.
The story develops well and I was pulled in from the start, intrigued as to the different type of characters involved and the world that is created by Nicola.
Ian is a strong willed character and isn't afraid to stand up for himself when it comes to his two agapetos - beloved, mate. He does at times struggle with feeling like he is not enough when compared to the two men but we get a chance to see his true value later on in the book.
By is intelligent and working to save the seas from the pollution that humans have caused and it brings up interesting ideas of possibilities and uses a true life event to shed light on what resulted from that. He isn't afraid to love and protect but on occasion going one step too far.
Aph is the happy go lucky guy that can bring lightness to the situation but will stand and fight for those he loves and the oceans he's born to protect. Events that he is tasked with brings darkness to his heart but the love of Ian and the support of his brother.
When things get tough the guys truly pull together and show what they're mad of. We get to meet some wonderful characters that I hope we see again in the second book that I'm looking forward to reading!

Ian is determined to get his book written while visiting down in Florida, but he never expected Bythos and Aphros. Greek demigods who tell Ian he's their fated mate. Being widowed after his wifes death two men who are meant for him is a bit much to understand right away, but there's no denying the chemestry. Just when things between them are getting fugured out an enemy comes in determined to kill them all.
Ian is a sweetie who has had it rough after his wifes death. He's lonely and just wants someone who is there for him, but he has an inner strength that shines through when it's needed most.
Bythos is the brains of the trio a true genius he uses what he has learned to try and help make the planet a cleaner place.

The story itself is interesting bringing Greek mythology to life in a whole new way and the way it is written makes it feel like you are right there in the world living it with them. The characters throughout are also well written and make it so easy to fall in loe with them!
Ian is a sweetie who has had it rough after his wifes death. He's lonely and just wants someone who is there for him, but he has an inner strength that shines through when it's needed most.
Bythos is the brains of the trio a true genius he uses what he has learned to try and help make the planet a cleaner place.

5* – It was amazing. Ok so I am kinda a nut when it comes to stories dealing with greek mythology. Everyone has their own interpretation for how things should go. Nicola did an amazing job at bringing these two demigods to life. From the beginning of the story she is able to weave a tale that allows you to experience the emotions the characters felt while arousing your senses and keeping you from putting the book down. With so many characters that played different roles, she did a splendid job from getting you confused. She was able to word the novel in such a way that you really didn’t know who was what, you kept guessing, had gut instincts and no clues to some. It was a thrilling rollercoaster ride for you brain. This is my first Nicola Cameron book but it will definitely not be my last. I just found out the second book in the series is releasing soon all I can say is I’m waiting with bated breath for it. You will be to. The new book “Breaker Zone” will be coming early January

Without giving away the fascinating plot, I will say that I found this a fresh take on bringing
mythological characters into a modern setting. The interactions with the various mythical creatures/gods that Ian meets are fun and exciting, and I liked the way a science-fiction writer working on a book about an ecological Armageddon is faced with an ecological disaster in the making.

Combining Greek mythology, pollution and MMM, Cameron has lined up a jackpot. While an incredulous alt-world, the plot abounds with heat and humor as the story twists to a unanticipated ending. Great major and minor characters, the pantheon of Olympian deities kept my attention. Despite some confusion regarding Florida (my home state) and summer, the tale was a delightful read.

I am usually not one for nontraditional romantic books... Romance, romance and then some.
I was completely in awe of this book. A mystery coif myself I was both intrigued and spellbound.
I was caught between John Simpson, Steven Spielberg, with a dash of Stormy Glenn thrown in. I completely LOVED this story. So unlike anything I had read in a long, long time.

Delightfully fun, nerdy & HOT! I thoroughly enjoyed this fantastical tale of fated beloveds, demi-gods, seafolk, and vengeful gods. And did I mention the hot? There's plenty of spice to go along with all the adventure. I highly recommend this (first in a series - yay!) to fans of erotic romance AND fantasy/sci-fi!

absolutely hilarious, as in it's light read like a b-grade, midday movie with lots of hot sex scenes. I'm going to read the trilogy, it's a TOTAL soap opera and I'm suck in and need to find out what happens. I do love cheesy when it's written extremely well.

I think the plot was really strong in this story. A new concept that worked out really well. I liked the characters and I think the author did a great job with this book.

This book sounded like it had great potential but it didn’t quite deliver. I found myself skim reading a lot of it and not really connecting with any of the characters or what was happening.

Wow. I found this book on the 'Best Underrated MM Book' list for Bingo, and I am so glad I did! I don't think this is something I normally would've found on my own, and boy would I have missed out! I always have it in my head that I don't like fantasy type books, but then I get surprised when something like this comes along. lol
Ian is mourning his wife's death and escapes to his childhood summer home for summer. He figures that he will relax and work on his latest science fiction novel, but he does not expect to find two hunky twin brothers that end up being his fated mates. By and Aph are demigods who are sea centaurs. They live and work in the water, but have been waiting for their mate for years. They knew who Ian was when he was younger, they just had to wait for him. Now that he is of age and single, they are ready to be together.
The story of their relationship-building was interesting, but there was also an intriguing side story of someone trying to hurt local sea creatures and Ian. I loved the twists the story took and loved watching the guys get together. Ian grew so much in this, and I loved who he became as he grew more confident. There were some great moments where I wondered what was going on and worried about who were bad characters and who was good. I picked out the villain early although I had no idea why they were the villain, and one person I worried about because they seemed suspicious became one of my favorite characters. Such an excellent book. I have other challenge books to read, but I had to get the next book because I just can't wait.
Definitely note, for those worried about By and Aph being brothers, they are with Ian, not with each other. The three of them are definitely all together, but they are Ian's boyfriends and there is no direct contact between the twins.

A very interesting polyamorous mmm greek god soulmates romance focused on environmental disasters and conservation. Certainly not the book to read if you’re one of the people who complain about political agendas in romance lol (but what are you even doing reading mm if that’s the case?).
A solid 4 stars for me from from enjoyment, a pretty unique story, and good prose. The weirdest choice was basing a lot of the plot on real life events and people. Certainly some people will not like that decision and it’s one I’d shy away from (especially a real life person from the past century with a real life tragic story being used as a character’s ex to give that character a tragic loss??). But ultimately didn’t detract too much from the story for me.

Sooo I did not like this book. It is mainly due to how it’s written. The writing is very amateurish and the pacing is off. I think the throuple got together after like page 40 out of 320 pages. Like what? The romance was the main allure with this book and it was so poorly done. The premise was quite interesting, the problem was the exaction.
The plot wasn’t that bad. The idea of these sea creatures being corrupted by the oil spill and all the waste humans dump into the ocean was quite an interesting idea. But yet again, the writing made it boring. Also, when Ian became a god? Like where did that come from.

I absolutely loved this book - this is the first book I’ve read by this author and it definitely won’t be my last.
The erotic dreams in the beginning were seriously hot - I'm surprised my ovaries are still intact! I enjoyed the interactions and bantering between Ian, By and Aphros.
Ian made me laugh when he went shopping for underwear with his Demigod boyfriends,
“Twenty eight bucks for one pair of underwear? What are they made of, Unicorn hair?” Lol
This book was written beautifully and flowed smoothly. The plot was exciting, gripping, intense with just enough suspense to keep you hooked. I’m definitely adding this author to my favourite list and I eagerly await for book 2.

I cracked open this steamy tale of a pair of demigods and the human with whom they were fated to partner and began to read it with the same expectation of bringing a forkful of decadent cake to my lips: a delicious, sweet trifle to enjoy in the moment. Imagine my delight when it had more substance than that, as well as memorable characters, an interesting plot, scads of suspense, and twists I didn’t fully see coming (and by that I mean I knew a twist was coming, but didn’t predict what it was). An enjoyable and sexy read.

This book unfortunately just had wayyy too much going on, and it wasn't particularly well-handled. Characters were underdeveloped and our main character got over any and all hangups to his relationships overly quickly. I know it's a fantasy novel, but everything that happened in this book was incredibly unbelievable. They're in Florida and not one single person bats an eye at a semi-incestuous gay throuple? They must be meeting a different kind of Floridian.
Also the thing about his wife at the mid/end part of the book came WAY out of left field and felt so...odd. There are other ways of creating conflict than what the author chose here.
Overall was pretty disappointed and will not be continuing the series.

Es una lectura fascinante por la carga mitológica, llevada de una forma que sí, sorprende pero a la vez parece tener lógica, además de la parte ecologista me ha encantado, muestran un momento muy real y científico, una gran combinación. Me agradaron mucho los personajes, el drama que hay porque me hicieron sufrir.

I really enjoyed this book, and the struggles that Ian, Aph & By had learning to truly be together. One thing that I wish was drawn out and developed more fully was Ian's progression and development from mortal to divine.

I really enjoyed this book. It left me wanting more... a very well-written book, the storyline was very engaging. Two demi-gods find their life mate and will go to any lengths to protect him, but he is the one who eventually saves them. I look forward to reading more in this series.
