The "sneakers" of this book are a team of eccentric high-tech security experts whose questionable pasts have brought them together under the leadership of Martin Bishop, a political protestor who was forced to go underground in the 1960s. By the author of "Foxes" and "Boulevard Nights".
This was a Wild Ride that receives 3 stars from me solely for Existing. Sneakers is one of those painfully underrated movies that I'll watch every time it's on the telly (every other year or so) and finding a movie tie in in a local charity shop was just So Damn Weird. I didn't expect a masterwork and I didn't get one but oh boy it sure is Fun: The novel has at least 15% more found family vibe and 100% more weird backstory. Houseboats? Tame Seagulls? Sleeping with your Thesis Supervisors Daughter? Honestly where is my Sneakers tv series with the expanded background stories??
