Sweet short read, and very enjoyable. Although it was a short read it was complete in character development and storyline, and I have to say I loved that there was an epilogue!!

It was a cute, romantic story..

I liked the idea of the ex who became a rock star and he is back in town.. Their story was very powerfull and with lots of feelings..
When they were teens they had a beautiful relationship which was wrecked by some events i don't feel like reminish..

Sam was a serious girl even for her age and she burnt down all the bridges so he wouldn't come back..
It was his fault after all.
But 10 years later and they voth were still in love with each other.. So when they meet again everything changes..

The characters were nice and the story sweet.. I liked their relationship when tey were young.. It was amazing how they felt connected and he played his songs for her!!!

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK
- I loved how they hugged each other..
- I liked his mum..
- His friend was great!
- It was so romantic that he kept her song always with him.
- Very romantic how he proposed..

3.5 “I’m yours for life” Kisses

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a short, quick, hot read. It packs a punch, gives me everything I need, minimal drama, lots of warm and tingly feelings and leaves me a happy little bookworm. That’s what I knew I was getting with I Remember You and Scarlett delivered it beautifully.

We first meet Lance and Samantha in the past, 14 years ago. They’re both 17, horny high school teenagers, boy, could I relate. They’ve been together on and off for a while, but they’re finally on and things are good. There is no doubt in Sam’s mind, Lance is it for her…they are meant to be, soul mates and all that. Then the ball drops…something from Lance’s past comes back to bite him in the ass, and it bites down hard. Sam is hurt too much to see past it, and that’s the end of them…

‘Only when she fell asleep, exhausted from her tears, did she finally escape the pain she felt.’

‘She’d just said goodbye to her heart and soul forever.’

Until they bump into each other by chance in a gas station, of all places. It’s a complete chance encounter, given he’s a big rock star now, he avoids his hometown and it was a complete fluke that she happened to stop and go inside at that time. So even with the brief conversation that they have, you can feel the longing, the desire, the regret of missed opportunities. But it is left at that, a chance encounter.

‘If she wasn’t sure before if she wasn’t over him, there was no doubt now. Hearing that song and hearing him play that song for her with his band, brought all those old feelings even closer to the surface.’

Sam decides to take a chance and go to the concert. She knows he may or may not see her, but she needs to see him. Of course he sees her. Of course it’s awesome. And of course he plays their song from when they were in high school and makes my little heart turn to mush. After that it’s just magical, what can I say, I’m a sucker for the lovey dovey-ness….and there was that, mixed in with hot sex. :-)

‘A tear rolled down her cheek. “Things could have been so different.”
He nodded. “You’re right, but I also think this is how it was supposed to be for us. We both had to do some growing up. We had to experience life apart for a while. Did it suck? Yeah, majorly, at least for me, but now I’ve found you again. We’ve found each other.”’

Once they are together the only angst is the unasked question – does the other want to be with me? Of course she wants to be with him, of course he wants to be with her, but will they just ask each other already? Nope! Why ask, when you can just think about asking….but if they didn’t, I wouldn’t be tortured and where is the fun in reading a romance if it’s not for the sheer love of self torture?

“She means everything. She is my everything. She’s my forever.”

Loved the ending…I was a little confused when it said ‘The End’ and then we got an Epilogue. I loved the epilogue but if I hadn’t clicked to make sure I was on the last page, I would have never known the Epilogue existed, and that would have sucked, cause it was super cute, I would have hated to miss it. This book took me under an hour to read and I can honestly say it was worth it.

Star Rating: 4 out of 5
Heat Rating: HOT

Lance and Samantha were high school sweethearts. They had been together all through high school and were finally in a good place when BOOM! Life throws a curve ball that knocks Lance and Samantha apart. What happens when two people that love each other can't be together? This is the question this novella asks and answers.

I Remember You by Scarlett Metal is a novella that has the feel of a full length novel. You get to know Samantha and Lance in the past and then again in the present. Scarlett takes two people that were torn apart and throws them back to together ten years later, as a reader I LOVE this story line (old lovers coming back together by happenstance and re-connecting). Once Samantha and Lance meet up again after so many years apart they can't resist the draw and the heat gets turned WAY up!

This novella has a little bit of everything: a rock star, the good girl, drama, anguish, hot sex and a love that never stops. Scarlett Metal did a great job getting the reader hooked right at the beginning and keeping the pace so that you end up settling down until the story ends and you are left with a sigh in your heart and a smile on your face. (or at least that is what happened to me). I definitely think I REMEMBER YOU by Scarlett Metal needs to find a home in your e-reader, it is a quick, sweet and sexy read that is worth the price of admission!

4.5-underwear is optional–stars

I Remember You has steam, love, swooning, heart-ache, and a bitch! Who could ask for anything more? Samantha and Lance loved each other since high school but had an on again off again kind of relationship.

They were happy and in love so you know what that means? Cue the bitch and the trouble she brings with her. Their relationship was not able to survive the aftermath that the bitch brought with her.

Years later fate brings them together and sparks fly as soon ass they see each other but will that be enough to rekindle their relationship? Has too much time passed between high school and now?

I Remember You has just the right amount of everything to keep the reader turning the page. When it is steamy–it is STEAMY, when the heartache comes go get yourself a few tissues and when it’s time to swoon you will have a big smile on your face. It’s such a good read.

As always with novellas they are over too soon and have me wanting to know more about the characters. I can only hope that there will be more of Lance and Samantha in the future!!

I picked this book up because I had read one of the author's previous book Naughty Girl, and really enjoyed it. There are a TON of books out there now with a rocker as the hero. This one is a little different, because the H/h were high school sweethearts. Their previous relationship isn't described in a couple of paragraphs or in a prologue, You get their story in a couple of chapters. You really get a feel for their relationship and how they feel about each other. You also 'witness' the heartbreak that tears them apart. But you don't stay sad for long, because the story picks up when they run into each other years later.

It was a really quick paced book, without a lot of unnecessary drama. It is really just a terrific love story. Another thing I appreciated was the lack of misspelled words and grammatical errors. A lot of the time, when you read something by an Indie author, the work is littered with so many errors it becomes distracting. I honestly can't think of even one in this book. I can't wait to read more by this author.

Great read!!

Kind of Slammed meets Sinners!!

We first meet Lance and Sam, when they are teenagers,(The Slammed likeness, you'll see) they have had an on/off relationship since Sam was 13, and it has just recently become a permanent one. that is until Lance receives some devastating news, that affects them as a couple.

Ten years on, the couple run into each other again and old flames are immediately ignited.
Lance is now a famous rock star (the Sinners likeness, you'll see!)and Sam is about to release her first book. The intense feelings they had for each other take over, and the couple start their relationship afresh.

All in all a really good quick read. Will definitely look out for more by Scarlet M.

I really liked this book. Samantha always thought she would marry Lance that he was the one true love of her life. That was until the day that his ex that he slept with when their on again off again relationship was in one of their off stages. The girl shows up unexpectedly and announces that she's pregnant and when Lance breaks the news to Samantha she runs away and tell him to never contact her again. Fast forward ten years later Lance doesn't tell Sam that the baby is not his he thinks that Sam is too good for him, but has never been able to love another. He's lived a rock star life full of alcohol and women and tough times as well but eventually he's able to pull through. Samantha has been with many men but even after all this time, her heart still belongs to Lance. So when Lance returns to town with his mother to take care of some business, fate is on their side and they run into one another at the gas station. Samantha can't help but feel those old feelings rising to the surface again when she sees him so on a whim she goes online and purchases and ticket to see his concert in a near by town, little does she realize that the ticket is in the front row. Lance is shocked to see her there and so he goes about reintroducing himself into Samantha's life. The author did a great job with this book it was well written. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

****MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY!!!!****

Samantha and Lance are teenage boyfriend & girlfriend. Lance is trying to pressure Samantha into sleeping with him, but she won't. Lance finds out that he has a baby by another woman and Samantha breaks it off and they go their separate ways. Ten plus years later, they meet again; he is a famous rock star and she is single. They pretty much pick right back up where they left off, but this time they are grown ups and there is none of that pesky virginity stuff to ruin their time together.

I've said it before and I'm going to say it again: I am NOT a romance person. I still keep getting them to review but I'm not happy about it. This one is no different than any of the others that I have read, with the exception that I kept singing "I Will Remember You" by Skid Row over and over in my head. It was an ok story and it was an easy read. There was plenty of sex in it but like I have said, it is NOT my thing . The story is predictable and no new ground is broken with the story. If you want a feel good, sexy story with a happy ending, then this is the story for you.

***UPDATE:

I read almost every genre. I say romance is not my genre, because I don't want everyone to assume that it is my genre and that they will get an easy 5 star review out of me. I don't get gushy or go over the top on reviews of something that I didn't like. I never know what I'm going to like or not like. If it is a romance and I like it, then you will know. It is not something I actively seek out but if someone asks me to read it & review it then I will. I don't want to be pigeonholed into 1 type of genre because I do not feel someone should be. If there is something remarkable about the story, then I will mention it. If it's just a bunch of sex and whatnot, then to me, that's nothing to remark on unless it is over-the-top or turned me on or moved me. I have done that with other romances. This one didn't do any of those things FOR ME. It might for you. Remember, this is just my opinion. [Clarification: I think when I said that I wasn't happy about getting more romances to read, I meant it in the way that I haven't gotten any romance yet that was really different and didn't make me laugh at the sex parts. I'm still waiting, hence why I still read them.]

I Remember You is a short story but exactly what I wanted and needed to read. I was pleasantly surprised at how well developed it was considering the length. Author Scarlett Metal (awesome name BTW) manages to convey the love and emotions felt by the characters to the point that the reader has no doubt about the depth of the feelings Lance and Sam have for one another.

There wasn’t a ton of sex. Ok, that’s a big fat lie because there was actually quite a lot of it… But if I recall correctly, there were only a couple episodes that were described in (wonderfully) vivid detail. These scenes maybe took up 5-7 pages out of the total 56, but I was okay with it because they were H-O-T → HOT! Like, I need to crack open a fire hydrant hot. I loved the passion between them, but I just wish the yoga had been incorporated more ;]

I’ve gotta say, I liked Sam well enough, but Lance… Even though I’m not a fan of his name – thanks to NSYNC, I adored him! I wasn’t too happy with Lance in the beginning, but through his POV, I fell in love with the man he grew into. I mean, who can resist a sexy rock star who curses like no one’s business, writes every song about the love of his life, and is man enough to cry in front of thousands of people?? I certainly can’t!

I love how the story came full circle, from Lance’s song, to the other thing… and in the end I was relieved to see that they got their happily ever after – no cliffhangers or unresolved business! I finished the last sentence and was happy and satisfied. This story hit all my buttons and I really enjoyed reading it. I Remember You gets 4½ stars from me!

4.5 STARS

I loved this story! Although it was short it held quite a romantic punch. Brought back a lot of my own memories from my teen years.
Sam and Lance were high school sweethearts. Everything was going great until something from Lance's past comes back to bite him in the ass. Sam decides that she can't deal with this new truth and ends it with him.
She was heartbroken and felt like she just lost part of her soul. The poor guy tried to reach out to her but she refused to speak him.

"You two belong together whether you like to hear it or not. There's a reason you ran into her today. Fate has stepped in."

A chance meeting many years later brings them back into each other's lives again. Sam is now pursuing her writing like she always wanted to and Lance has become this hugely popular rockstar. The sparks between these two most definitely did not fizzle out over the years. I think, if anything, their time apart only intensified their need for one another. So romantic but incredibly hawt!!

"I don't know why I can't get her out of my head. I think I did for awhile. Or at least I was good at burying it down deep. Seeing her stirred it all back up again."

Yepp, he won me over with that one little statement. I think we all have hopes that there is a "Lance" from our past just pining away for us. Sam is a little fearful about getting back into a relationship with him because of the past. Who could blame her? She knew it wasn't going to be easy but she was willing to give it another shot. Grab this one and find out how Sam and Lance's story ends! I am so glad I did.

I have to say that Scarlett fit a whole lot of awesomeness in this short book. I loved reading Samantha and Lance's story of losing and finding love again. It also doesn't hurt that Lance is a rock star. I love books about rock stars. One of my favorite genres to read. Tie that in with a true love then you have a recipe for a perfect story.

Lance and Samantha were in love during high school and were torn apart by an outside interference. Lance was heart broken. Knowing a mistake he made had cost him Samantha. He starts drinking until a friend pulls him out of it. They end up starting a band and rising to super stardom. When Lance runs into Samantha while returning home for family business he runs into Samantha. She ends up attending his concert seated in the front row. Every song he has written has been for her. They can't stay away from each other and one night of passion isn't enough for them. Will their night of passion be just that or are they willing to finally have a happily ever after with one another?
Even though the book was short I really became attached to Samantha and Lance. They were so perfectly in love with each other. Even though they both made mistakes, their love never faltered. A love so strong that they could never move on to any one else. They are each others happiness. Once they realized they could truly have one another is when the book exploded. Their passion was undeniable. I loved their story.

The book was short but it worked. I was amazed at how much the story took off for me. I would recommend giving this a read. The love story will take your breath away.

First I would like to say that I LOVE stories about childhood loves finding each other later in life and I Remember You by Scarlett Metal is a great addition to that category.

"Even though she was only seventeen, there was something about him and their relationship that told her they'd be together forever, that Lance was her soul mate."

Samantha and Lance's relationship is very tumultuous after a bomb is drop on Lance's life that Samantha can't come to term with.

"Lance, I can't do this. I can't sit and wait." Her voice started to break despite her resolve. "I love you. I do. So much it hurts. But I'm 17 years old."

Fast forward 10 YEARS later and they literally bump into each other. Samantha still lives in their hometown and Lance live in LA but is back for his concert and to settle thinks with his mother's home.

After that first encounter Samantha can't stop thinking "what if?" So Samantha decide to attend a concert that could be the best thing to happen to her in a really long time.

The only issue I had was that I wished it was longer. It's such a cute story that if it was a little bit longer the characters could have been more developed and all of the events wouldn't have felt so rushed.

Overall it's a really cute love story and I loved it!

I Remember You has the potential to be good, but the story itself fell flat. The story was oddly rushed. I liked the fact that Lance and Samantha had a history in high school and reunited years later. But, the story felt choppy; it just didn't have a flow to it. The characters weren't very likable either. Lance (the loving boyfriend that he is) pressures Sam to have sex with him. Dude, if you really do love her, you'll wait. As for Sam, I didn't like her actions. Read about it in the spoiler if you want to.

***Spoiler Alert!***

I didn't understand why Samantha didn't question Lance about the baby after seeing each other again when that was what broke them apart years ago. However, she was quick to have sex with him without question after seeing him at his concert.

***End Spoiler***

I Remember You also came off a bit cheesy and corny. It just didn't seem realistic to me. Overall, I did finish the book so that's saying something. Perhaps, I'll still give this author another try in the future? Not too sure though.

This is such a sweet little love story! I know, I know... sweet and rock stars don't usually go well together, but Lance is such a doll-baby. A sexy, virile stud of a doll-baby.

I couldn't help but hum the song 'I Remember You' from Skid Row the whole time I was reading this, and it put me back in the days of my own 'rock star' crushes and dating band guys. Guitar players really do have incredible hands. Just saying!

And the fact that Sam is a writer? Yeah... I was back in the 80's and 90's with this one, the whole time, remembering the days of spandex and concerts. *happy sigh*

The story is sweet and doesn't jerk you around emotionally like so many do. Instead, it's a HEA that you want to see, the happy ending that most of us never got with our band boys. :) Loved it! Another hit for Ms. Metal. :D

Let me just say up front that I am a total sucker for a happy ending. I can’t help it. I root for the characters to figure it out, then cheer when they do. In I Remember You, Scarlett Metal delivers!

This is the story of Lance and Sam, two young almost-lovers who seemingly miss their chance at happily ever after. Cut to ten years in the future and the two run into each other by chance at a gas station. This time around, they are mature enough to recognize that the connection they share is too special to ignore.

The premise of I Remember You is very simple, the plot isn’t overly complicated, and the story telling is straight forward. The writing is quite good and I was hooked from the start. By the end, I was so invested that I was crying for them.

I Remember You earns five stars from me. Nicely done, Scarlett.

This short story starts off 10 years previous Sam and Lance are boyfriend and girlfriend until Lances ex girlfriend turns up claiming to be pregnant so Sam ends the relationship.

Forward 10 years Sam bumps into Lance in their home town Lance is now a guitarist for rock band Forbidden Gods and Sam is a writer.

The joy I felt when I discovered that this was about a rockstar and by chapter 3 I was completely hooked. I had a gut feeling about this one from the very start and it just kept on getting better and better.

I didn't want it to end and by the time I had finished it I was in tears. A fantastic emotional feel good story with hot sex scenes and I savoured every moment...

A must for all the rockstar fans!

Lance & Samantha dated off and on through high school and a deal breaker for Sam had her saying goodbye to Lance forever, or so she thought. This book is a short yet very steamy read. Don't let it's length fool you because it's lagging in NOTHING!! We get Sam & Lance's history, their dreams, and their desires and everything flows so smoothly. The steam is like hot lava steam--it's that hot! Everything was wrapped together perfectly and although having more of their story would provide more length, the depth of the story was there and left me very satisfied with no unanswered questions!! Give it a try!

Who LOVES a hot, steamy, rock star, short story with a HEA? THIS GIRL DOES!!!

Fate rekindles a childhood love between Lance and Samantha and you know what they say... "Where there is smoke there is fire" ... but this isn't just any fire - this is a BLAZE with raw and real emotions: "A tear rolled down her cheek. "Things could have been so different."
He nodded. "You're right, but I also think this is how it was supposed to be for us. We both had to do some growing up. We had to experience life apart for a while. Did it suck? Yeah, majorly, at least for me, but now I've found you again. We've found each other."'

WOW!! JUST WOW!!!!!!!!

Beautiful story, I mean really beautiful. It is a short read and touched me more than many many full length novels. One major reason I gave this book a 5 stars is that for a change, the two beautiful people in love in this one had no issues with communication. They spoke about what's in their mind, they shared their insecurities openly and communicated at every chance they got. Apart from that one time though....!!

The book was full of love, passion and emotion. It was heart touching and heart warming. I am still smiling..:):):)

Recommended to all romance lovers. Grab your copy...get comfortable with a glass of wine and enjoy!! I DID!!

First of all, this is a very short story that I devoured about your childhood first love. Lance and Samantha date on and off throughout high school then something finally pulls them apart. They part after high school to go their separate ways. 3.5 stars

Lance follows his dreams to be in a rock band and Samantha goes off to college. After 10 years of following their dreams, they run into each other when Lance comes home to help his mom. This is when the story really begins for me. Hot, Sexy, and Steamy! They reconnect and rediscover the love they have missed.

Don't miss out on this short, sexy love story with a Happy Ending!

I guess time heals all wounds in Samantha's case... but Lance should've said something when he learned about the truth. A decade is a long time---lost time is something we cannot take back. Although both of them were with different people within the 10years, they still weren't over with each other... Lucky for them when they found each other, both of them were un-attached... And I guess their love was really meant to be. And as they say, love is sweeter the 2nd time.

I loved the story. Yes t'was short but still had a lot of heart...

This is a second chance romance. On top of that you have a rock star. The book begins with a young Samantha and Lance. Circumstances cause the two to break up. Years later they cross paths again. This was an excellent story, but I felt that the author could have had a much bigger hit with this book if it were more developed. It goes from one thing to the other so fast with no build up. I enjoyed it enough that I will read something else from the other, but it didn’t leave me satisfied. I needed more.
