For years Link and Eagle have danced around their attraction for each other, and neither one is willing to cross the line from friendship to lovers.

Link doesn’t want to lose what they have.

Eagle lets things go, following Link’s lead.

But ignoring their attraction isn’t working anymore, and one more spark ignites their mounting passion. Can they truly make the leap from best friends to lovers? They were brothers-in-arms through the military and are now co-workers—can becoming involved beyond that even work? Not to mention they are complete opposites… One man is laid back and easygoing and the other—not so much.

When one explosive encounter leaves Link pissed off and Eagle contrite, they’ll have to do some hard work to repair their rocky bond.

Mix in a bomb, drug dealers, gangs, and illegal drugs with kids involved and Link and Eagle will have a lot to focus on as they try to fix things between them and tackle their building desire.

Come along for the action-packed ride in typical Reese Knightley style as Link and Eagle kick ass on bad guys, save the day, and attempt to navigate love.

Needs a trigger warning

This is another one that's missing trigger warnings for attempted sexual assault and mentions of off page rape of a teenager.

It's a shame that this particular storyline reappears in the interconnected series' because it feels more like an added "drama llama" moment than a genuine integrated plot element.

The story would still have worked had Tyler been a victim of his brothers' involvement in a drugs gang but, yet again, it had to be another sexual violence storyline.

It's a shame because it was already competing with the "misunderstanding" narrative of Eagle and Link which was incredibly annoying.

They go off book constantly, almost blow the mission multiple times, blow up in each other's faces, have angry sex, still don't talk, get mired in the dumb secondary plotline again, and then end up all hunky dory after the briefest of conversations.

Not the best, which is a shame as I've been looking forward to finding out more about this pair who've been so present throughout all the other interconnected books.

There are so many characters in these series now that the books should come with organisational charts.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I thought this was another good addition to the Operation Justice Force Series. I thought it was an enjoyable read. It’s Link and Eagle’s turn to get their story told. They’ve been side characters that I’ve been interested in since they were first introduced in Spencer and Liam’s book, Taking it Slow (Code of Honor Series). I’m glad that Link and Eagle finally got their sh*t together during this book, even though it took awhile as they kept on having misunderstandings. I thought that they are great together, and their chemistry is completely off the charts as well as hot as f*ck. Link and Eagle have been teammates and best friends for years, they have each others backs. They’ve had feelings for each other but have both danced around their attraction as Link doesn’t want to lose what they have but things have recently turned to sh*t after and explosive encounter but will they be able to sort through everything in order to repair their damaged bond. Man, they really needed to communicate more which they both understood but weren’t great at it.

Link, is given a job by Dave and he can hand-pick his team and excludes Eagle, even though he knows that Eagle will always have his back but their personal problems don’t make it easy to say the least. Not long after Link and his team arrive on scene, Eagle and his team mate Ice show up and the tension between Link and Eagle is ramped up. Will they find the time to finally be able to communicate and tell the other how they feel, while trying to solve their case? Wow, my heart completely broke for Tyler and everything he endured. At least he finally landed in a safe place. I definitely think that things could’ve been resolved way sooner if Link and Eagle were open and honest with each other ages ago, but they’re both completely hard headed. I’m looking forward to reading the next Operation Justice Force Series book when it’s released, which I’m guessing will be Kellum & Creed’s story. I’d also happily read any other books from this universe that Reese Knightley has created. I’d recommend this book, series, all the books in this universe and author to others.

I love Link and Eagle and I love now they work together perfectly but they are both bad at communication and you want to knock some sense into both of there heads. Because Link was angry at Eagle for a confrontation at Eagle's aunt's house and after being assigned to check out a bombed out restaurant Link goes ahead without waiting for Eagle and Eagle is attacked and tasered by two assailants and Link feels so guilty. In the investigation they meet 3 kids and you know that the youngest Tyler is being mistreated. The reason gang members get on going back to the bombed out restaurant is because the son of the owner had stolen drugs and the leader wanted it back. I admit that I was not sorry that Eagle had to kill John, Tyler's older brother, because he had abused Tyler and had pimped him out to the other gang members. I loved that in the end Tyler was able to stay with Link and Eagle who had bought a house together and talked about getting a dog. I loved when the puppy was rescued and Ice adopted him and on one of the jobs he even rode along and had his own bullet proof vest. Wonder if we will learn about Kellum and what he is going through.

Magnets

If ever two people belong together, it’s Eagle and Link. From the first we met them, and it seems like they’ve always been in our lives, I had a feeling—ok, a hope, a big one—that they were meant to be, and I am so in love with their romance!

“They moved in sync—they always had, like a matched set that couldn’t really function when apart. He liked it that way. This was the way they were meant to be.
Together.
Forever.”

Intense action, breathless moments, and some thrilling surprises, all pave the way for these two to find their way back to one another. But was that ever in doubt? Not for me, and like the magnets they are, once together, you’ll have to fight to part them, and possibly some huge muscled, dangerous men. I love this found family to pieces, and am so excited about the seeds sown about what’s to come.

Finally, Eagle and Link realized they are more to eat other than just friends.

Eagle and Link happiness has finally found a happily ever after and it was amazing. The story was on point and I do so enjoy how Reese tie in real life scenery into the story. Eagle and Link have been so protective of each other and would get a person straight if they felt the other was in danger. I enjoyed reading their love story and a little misunderstanding almost ended their relationship forever. But the danger of their job made them realize they needed each other and would always have their backs. This mission saved a young man who was being abused by a gang but also by his brother. I enjoyed the ending. Reese books are always worth reading, you never be disappointed. I can’t till the next book, I know it is going to be good.

Justice operations and love

Eagle and Link's story was a long time coming and I loved they way it played out. Eagle and Link are best friends in and out of the field, but after deciding to take their relationship to another level, they end up having a fight, and now things are tense between them. They end up working an operation together with Link the lead. Needless to say, things are tense between them, but as their case unfolds and comes to a head, so does their decision about their relationship. Steamy times, action and the coming together of another Pegasus couple is the order of the day. Can't wait for Jordan's story.

We met Eagle and Link way back in the Code of Honor Series. They were part of a small elite black ops team named Fury with Spencer Turner under Liam Colbalt before they joined Pegasus. This story has been a long time coming. In every book in her series they are mentioned you can see the connection. You find out what happen when they had a falling out in the previous book, a little bit about there past and what their future might bring. If you have been rooting them from the beginning you will not be disappointed!

not a fav of this series, several issues for me

Rating: 3🌈

If you’re reading these books, it’s not only because you’re a fan of Reese Knightley but because you’re also a fan of this series as well as the other overlapping series that connect characters and even plot lines.

A reader can’t just narratively waltz into a book and expect to understand the characters, their dynamics, even the organizational structure that’s inherent to the series and the team’s success. You need the whole whopping amount of knowledge about the leadership, the multiple agencies, and the various aspects of each along with its agents to get a grasp on the individual storyline presented by each book as it’s released.

That’s a ton of stuff, I know.

I’m a fan of this series, love the action sequences and the quirky characters but this has several elements that just worked against it for me.

The main characters , Eagle and Link, have a shared history based on chemistry and no communication. It’s even stated in the book, they agreed to not talk about their pasts and their relationship with their fathers/families . That’s fine if you are colleagues, superficial friends, and, or able to successfully emotionally segregate your life.

Knightley’s characters can’t and that inability to communicate detonates their relationship . That the stage the reader is dropped off at when the book starts.

I’m not a fan of characters that don’t communicate.

Here that lack of communication is elevated to the height it has either man going off , doing his own thing during a mission with a criminals murdering people, bombing establishments, with a highly visible threat to two states. Why? Because one has an anger management issue, they won’t talk to each other, and unbelievably, their supervisor still sent them out together without explanation when it had been requested, reasonably , not to.

I get this isn’t an alphabet agency or military organization, but the way both Eagle and Link acted outside of their respective team’s communication channels continually here frustrated me as a reader. Where’s all this so called professionalism? Where’s the major skill sets that got them onto this agency to begin with? Missing.

Lastly, there is the use of a young man as a victim of sexual assault, continued sexual trafficking by a family member. Instead of it being an integral component of the story the entire time, it becomes a last minute element. Why? This character, Tyler, who could be part of the series now, could have been a victim of domestic violence, parental abandonment, any sort of other types of violence. But instead we get the absolute worst. Adolescent rape as that feels less like a necessary thread and more like an add on for dramatic effects.

Taken together with the fact of two characters who don’t communicate with each other or their team, and I found a story that lost much of the charm this series has held for me in the previous books.

Read it for the series and author. Or because those types of main characters don’t bother you.

It does me, unfortunately. Not a recommendation

Reese’s world encompasses her Cobalt Security Series, Code of Honor Series, Out for Justice Series, and the latest Operation Justice Force. There are a lot of crossover characters, retired and active duty military and specs ops bad asses. Throw in a few FBI, Police, computer hackers, and other assorted born protectors.

The incredible Black Ops environment created by Reese Knightley just keeps getting better and better. The sixth novel in this series, Haven, features another long-term partner pair who ultimately fall in love and get their HEA. Since they were both in the special forces, Link and Eagle had worked together for years. They currently serve as operators for Pegasus, one of the secret service units overseen by the defence secretary. They both experience a panic attack after exchanging kisses because they fear it will ruin their friendship.
They must cooperate to mend their relationship before it ruins them both when placed in a hazardous operation with the typical amount of mayhem and turmoil.

The Cobalt Security Series, Code of Honour Series, Out for Justice Series, and the most recent Operation Justice Force are all included in Reese's world. There are several personalities who cross over, including ex-military, current service members, and bad guys in special operations. Add a few FBI agents, police officers, computer hackers, and other varying born protectors.
You may find the reading order on her website. On KU and Audible, there are series available. I'm prepared to read them all over again

Contains: coworkers, trying to apologize,  bømb investigation, drűg dealer, gang, action packed and explecit described violent scene.

Tw:
r@pe, physical and verbal @buse present & past.

I think this one can be read as a standalone.

I plunged into this story without refreshing my memory on the previous books. I'm still skeptical about the preface. Is it a set-up for this book or a past book or a future one? Who knows.

In this book, you'll once again be swallowed up in a whirlwind of action. If you like action, you've come to the right place. Two coworkers in their late thirties and early forties who have to reconcile personal problems and work. Two people who have spent a good part of their lives working together, know each other extremely well, and are developing feelings for each other.

But do they really know each other? How can they work together with all their disagreements? Will they be able to solve their case together, or will their problems create more obstacles?

Communication is the key. Everyone knows it, even the characters. But how do you communicate when everything seems to be against you? Will they find a moment of respite to make amends, or will it be too late?

Action fans, dive into this novel and let it rock you.... er explode with the twists and turns. The author hasn't disappointed us with good, well-described action that takes us right to the heart of the action.

I took off a star because at several points, I was totally lost. What's more, their personal problem seemed rather simplet to me. It is easily resolved and rather childish.

In short, this is my honest opinion. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

This was a story full of the lack of communication between the two men on anything not work related and how they were affected. They had lots of explosive passion that they did their best to keep from the case which was explosive in its own way. This story had lots of emotions and feelings. This was an MM story with mature content.

It seems like I have been waiting for Link and Eagle's story forever and it did not disappoint. Link and Eagle are best friends and it is clear that the feelings between them shows that they are meant to be more. If two people were ever meat for each other, these two are it. Just as they are ready to take that next step forward, on incident causes a big blowout between them, damaging their relationship before it can really began. Now these two have to navigate the love and hurt feelings between them before, while trying to stay alive, in order to have the love they deserve. I loved this book. Link and Eagle have been two of my favorite characters since they popped on the scene. I loved watching them navigate their feelings while in the midst of danger. These two were stubborn, but nothing like almost losing the love of your life to put things in perspective for you. This book was nicely paced and I loved everything about it. I can't wait for the next one.

This starts off with a prologue that makes zero sense in relation to the book. I assume it was Tyler and his brother?? So Link and Eagle have been best friends and teammates for years. They literally put their lives in each other’s hands regularly so I was expecting something much more significant to have caused this break in their relationship. It just didn’t make sense. The investigative work in this book was also suspect. Just the lack of follow up questions and ridiculous procedures they used was such a distraction. I’ve literally been waiting for this book and these two’s HEA for years and I’m so disappointed. I’ve said in my last three reviews that a list of characters is needed listed by couple with with book titles and jobs. It’s getting out of hand with the number of crossovers. I’ve been on auto buy with this author for years but it stops now

A story wherein Link and Eagle finally figure it out

We’ve been seeing the issues between Link and Eagle for the last couple of books. We finally get the whole story here. And we see the, figure it out. The crime part of the story involves a fatal bombing, a scared kid, drug dealers and gangs. The heightened danger propels the two friends to finally get their act together and clear the air between them.

I really enjoy these books not only because they address some important issues but because they don’t pussy foot around about it. I enjoy seeing bad guys get what they deserve. I like the action sequences, the heartfelt emotions, and the good triumphs over evil mantra. I’m more than two thirds of the way through this universe I hope the author keeps adding to it for a long time to come!

4.5 stars

I think the thing that I most repeated on my reviews for almost all the books of this author. Is how I was awaiting for this couple book. And it finally happened 🎆🎇

Here we got to understand why Link and Eagle problems in their relationship, and their struggle to put aside their fears (and many misunderstandings) and just be honest with each other.

I took 0.5 star because of that. The heavy load of misunderstandings in their story didn't let us enjoy the couple as much as we did in the previous book with Seven and Hunter, and this is really frustrating.

But I just have to say how much I loved Eagle and Link chemistry. Just wanted to be able to enjoy more their stories.

And how I always have to say about this author, the action scenes are always perfect.

Link and Eagle have been integral side characters in so many books. They have always been a couple in my mind though there was never confirmation of their relationship. They have shown up on several series and their book has been years in the making. If you like two alpha males that are as stubborn as the day is long and neither wants to admit he’s wrong then this is the book for you. These two are bonafide bad asses and they get the job done. The biggest question for these two is if they can work as well in their private lives as they do as work partners. This book gives you more insight into these two both as individuals and as a couple. There are definitely a few surprises that you will find enjoyable. This one has something for everyone.

I was soooo excited that it was Link’s and Eagle’s turn. They have known each other for many years and probably in love just as long. Both MCs were on the outs due to lack of communication with each other. When a job came up, Eagle hand picked the team to go with him. When Link found out, he was furious and showed up. As they try to solve the case, their close proximity brought their feelings to the forefront. Loved the way these two are protective of each other. Love this series and cannot wait for more,

Just not feeling RK books like I used to :(

For me they're getting too convoluted as the author keeps tying her other mc's and series together. Also for the ages and jobs these characters have, they seem to get more unprofessional (mistakes, arguments etc usually resulting in the bad guys getting away or someone in the team getting injured). They also come across as immature. These issues aren't restricted to just this book and sadly I think it's time for me and this author to part ways.

Long awaited story
The book of Link and Eagle is one I have been waiting for since I first met them in Spencer's book Taking It Slow. Ever since, I had the feeling that there is something between the two and waiting for their story to be told.
The book doesn't disappoint and in their way towards each other they have to overcome the obstacles of their past.
☆☆☆☆☆ from me for another amazing story

I have been waiting for this book since way back in the Code of Honor Series. It was definitely worth the wait. The tension between Link and Eagle have been teased in the previous many books. I also love that the characters from previous book appear! Amazing writing and the flow of the story kept me hooked.
I'm looking forward to the next book!

Thanks for this series continuing.

This series has been nice to read. These guys and all their drama. These two started out as friends. Move in together then fall for each other. They have a misunderstanding and go their own ways. Though they work together. Lot of lost looks. Hit and miss when they do come together. A boy who they need to save brings it all to a head.

I have been fascinated with Eagle and Link for the longest time. I was so excited for their story, but something about it fell flat for me. They mystery in this was good, but a bit of a reach and the fact that they, for the most part, reconciled before discussing the issues was just weird.

I really liked this series and the writing is good.
