With just one night and one stupid party, the trajectory of my future altered forever…
Until my senior year, I had everything going for me: excellent grades, a supportive and loving family, not to mention the hottest boyfriend in school. Everything was perfect—until the arrival of Zach Anderson, a parkour loving, school skipping, bad boy delinquent that seemed to bring with him a lot of bad karma.
It can’t be a coincidence that his arrival marks a significant change in my life, can it?
Now, everything has changed. I no longer know who I can trust. And the threatening notes I’m receiving, well it appears those are just the start of my problems…
Note: Free Falling is book two in the Best Friend series; however, it is a standalone novel with different characters so there is no requirement to read Always You first.
I am a traditionally published and Indie author that hails from sunny England (I lie, it's not really that sunny here!) I'm a hopeless romantic, so of course my main writing focus is romance. I love to create swoon-worthy males that steal your breath! I write mature YA, new adult and contemporary romance novels.
As well as being a writer I'm also an avid reader, mum to one little boy, proud chocoholic and an absolute beast at Lego PlayStation games.
If I had to sum myself up in one word, it would probably be 'daydreamer' - but unlike most of my school teachers, I don't necessarily view that as a bad thing. After all, I read somewhere once that books are like waking dreams...
I don't think, I have cried so much in my life while reading this book! First let me say I love Kirsty Moseley's books! The Boy Who Sneaks in My Bedroom Window and Always You This story is about Always You characters children. RileyBear and Clay have kids, how exciting! The twins just turned 18 and are seniors in high school. It's about Maisie(twin) thinking she has a perfect life with a happy family, great overprotective brother, perfect grades, great friends, and a perfect boyfriend that she truly loves. Until one day everything change when I new student starts school. All in one night everything changed in her life. This book becomes about threats, harrassments, fights and even deaths. You will get so invested in the characters that you fall in love and root for one and turn around and go into shock! I laughed and I cried (like cried hard) reading this book. Just thinking about this book makes me want to cry. But this book really makes you think! All of Moseley's books has teen love but she always has some kind of drama that will blow your mind. This book is a must read but you may only be able to read it once. Tear Jerker have your tissues ready!
Sigh... I feel bad leaving a bad review but I feel the need to express how disappointed I was with this book. Until about the 90% mark on my Kindle it was an okay read. I never really understood Zach's role and wondered why he was even introduced at all since his appearance never really created the love triangle I expected. I'm a fan of Kirstey Moseley's though so even though I felt a little disconnected it was still okay because I like the way she writes.
The negative turning point for me was actually the extremely selfish and immature decision of Maisey's to keep the details of several crimes and a murder to HERSELF!! What an awful decision! And to have it written as if this was a kind and thoughtful action. What about the parents of the victim who will never get closure? What about the police detectives who will continue to spend time and money investigating the murder? What about the community who continues to live in fear that a killer is out there? I could go on and on but I'm sure you get the idea. This action horrified me and killed the book for me. Sorry Ms. Moseley.
Seriously? What the ever-loving fuck? I was really disappointed in this book. I enjoy Kristy's books but this one made me want to scream! By chapter 19 (the morning after her dog was poisoned and the police were called) I already knew who was stalking her. It was obvious. It pissed me off that Maisie acted like an ignorant love sick puppy throughout the whole book. I mean she covered a MURDER for the same person that was trying to KILL her. It was stupid. I mean the family needed to know the truth but Maisie being her idiot self decided she didn't want to tarnish the killers reputation/memory because they killed themselves. AND what the hell is the point of Zachs character? they're barely around each other unless they're studying. I was hoping for a love triangle. I hope Kristy makes a sequel so Maisie has a happier ending because it just suuuuuuuuucked in this book.
I never leave reviews if I don't have anything nice to say, I just don't like criticizing anyone who has the guts to put themselves out there and write a book. So with that said, I'm gonna leave a review against the voice of my mom in my head saying, If you haven't got anything nice to say don't say it....sorry mama gotta say this...
I read the book till the end, as I am usually a fan of Kirsty Mosley so I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. The Boy Who Sneaks Through My Bedroom Window, is one of my fave books EVER...I have infact read it several times... I wont be reading this one again...
Alright, so to start off I'm going to point out I'm a fan of Kirsty Moseley, but I have to say I was very disappointed with this book. SPOILERS AHEAD! The story starts off ok, with some explanation of what is going on and the scene being set, but after that it just starts going more and more downhill. The character of Zach, who is supposed to play an important part in this book, barely bares any significence, his relationship with Maisie goes nowhere, and he basically just stands around and does nothing for the entire book. He is set out to be this badass who cares about nothing, but he doesn't act at all like it, he doesn't date because he's afraid to hurt someone and he plays sports. To set someone out as a "bad boy" then turn them into the complete opposite, it just doesn't work. Now Maisie, I understand that some characters need to be set out in a certain way, but she is just plain stupid. Who forgets that someone isn't their boyfriend, and you don't want anything to do with them? She is constantly running back to this douche, despite all he had does to her. I mean, hasn't she seen "Scream"? This was almost a dead ringer in the thriller aspect, and it was just about as lame. I wasn't even half way through the book when I had figured out that Luke was the stalker/killer. It was so ridiculously obvious. I know I have only pointed out the flaws so far, but I have to admit, it was still fairly well written, just the plot lacked almost everything it needed. I have read other Kirsty Moseley books, and I know she can do better than this. This was just lame. I would have to say stick to the teen romance/drama, stay away from thrillers. After all of that I decided to give it two stars, only because it was still well written and I was able finish it, (mainly in hope it would get better). I would only recommend this to lighthearted readers, who need obvious light stories, but to anyone with high expectations. Don't read it.
Deeply disappointed with both the plot and the end. The whole book was so predictable I was kind of convinced this couldn't be Mrs. Moseley's own writing, and that she would throw in a crazy didn't-see-that-coming twist. But she didn't. It didn't have much of a climax either. By the time I reached the last chapter, I thought "That's IT?! THAT was the end?!" Zack has basically no role and a few times I wondered why he was in the book at all. Maisie frustrated me through-out the book with;
-Not telling her parents IMMEDIATELY what was going on. -Going to the rental store even though she was told not to stop ANYWHERE (honestly and she was supposed to be the smart one!) -Lip biting -Not figuring out the truth sooner (Again; she was supposed to be smart!)
The cover was kind of lame and I had to think a bit before I realised it's connection with the book. Yeah-it was THAT forgettable. The one character I liked turned out to be the stalker/murderer which annoyed me a LOT. And if Maisie is Riley & Clay's daughter, shouldn't this book be in the future or something? Because Always You is in the current time period. A huge error made by the author, because it's not exactly possible things are EXACTLY the same in Maisie's time as they were in her PARENTS!
2 stars for a weak story line, forgettable characters, sprinkled with a predictable ending.
Ok so I REALLY REALLY wanted to like this book! But it was just meh. Let me first start my saying that I ADORE Kristy Ellen Moseley!!!! I started to read this on Wattpad when she was uploading as kirsty1000. I felt the removal of Mitch ( a main character in the original story in Wattpad) was a bad choice. As always there is a secondary plot to this story and usually I love that about Kristys books, however I picked this one after the first phone call!! It was just to obvious!! There was not enough Zach or Alex ( I hope there is more to this story ( with more realistic plot lines)) Every other one of this authors books has received 5 stars with some on my favourite list. This is a 1 star for me. The second star is because I loved what I read on Wattpad and I love Kristy Moseley.
Please DON'T READ ANYMORE IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK!!!
SPOILER ALERT!!
I'm sorry but WHAT THE FRIGGEN HELL????
So you find out your ex boyfriend is your stalker
He vandalised your locker
He vandalised your books
He sent you the lily of death (repeatedly)
He called you via a second untraced phone to do the whole 'heavy breathing' thing
He sent you threatening text messages.
He sent you a decapitated teddy bear with no eyes saying you're next.
He poisoned your dog
He sent you more death threats
He sent your text messages saying he could see you when you were in public etc etc
He KILLED sandy!!!!!!
He tricked you into giving him an alibi
HE TRIED TO KILL YOU!!!!!
HE KILLED HIMSELF!!!
AND YOU DO NOTHING ??????
What about sandys family?? I know she was a total bitch in this book, but she was KILLED!! MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD for the simple fact that he cheated with her !!! Will her family EVER get the closure they deserve??? Will the deceives and other police waste time and money trying to find a killer that had an alibi and is now dead?!?
SO unrealistic it almost made me laugh! Again I'm sorry. I really wanted to like this!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Pfew. I really wanted to like this book. The story seemed interesting, and I thought the writing, though still too youngish for my taste, was better than in Kirsty Moseley's two previous books (The boy who sneaks in my bedroom window and Always You).
I actually enjoyed some bits of the story, particularly : - how Maisie stands for Zach all throughout their friendship and doesn't turn her back on him when the rumours get nasty ; - the suspense element was pretty well delt with till the very end _ I did have suspicions, but the key of the mystery wasn't obvious.
On the other hand, some things just didn't do it for me. The whole romance plot actually didn't do it for me and the ending, gosh, it made me think I had wasted hours of my life reading the book. I don't know whether there'll be a following book _ perhaps there'll be one focused on Alex _ but really, Free Falling just left a feel of unfinished work.
As I was reading the spoilers, that Luke died… which was a shame as I was always guessing how this guy was going to die, but boy was I wrong!!!
This author has a great skill to spin your around and making you guess what was really going on, but you have it all wrong.
I did feel like a Teacher, going through it, and correcting the spelling mistakes and grammar, very annoying!!!
But let's get to the characters. Maise, the twin daughter was incredibly emotional, I felt like throwing the book at her. Zach, the troubled guy, I really thought he was the bad one, but at the end he was the good one.
Luke who I thought was such a good person, turned out to be evil.
I balled my eyes out on this book.
I must say, I was disappointed how it ended. Maisy deserved to have a happy ending.
Maybe the author could write another book on her and her twin brother Alex.
I do recommend this book, but have a box of tissues and get someone to give you a big hug afterwards :)
When Luke gave her the neckalce and everything in the world was soo fine When everything turned upside down When Zach was introduced...damn When i found out who the psycho was And at the end of the book i was just like... 'say what'
i had no idea this was like a continuation of sorts to Always You. i liked this story for the same reason i like the first one. it's love and mystery rolled into one book. this one happens to be about Riley and Clays kids Maisie and Alex (mostly Maisie). Maisie has a great life, great boyfriend, and great parents but things take a turn when she busts her boyfriend having sex with her enemy Sandy. not long after that she starts getting creepy messages in her locker and weird phone calls and someone even poisons her dog to try and scare her. she thought it was Sandy but i thought it was one Lukes friends from football or one of her friends and Luke said he thought it was the new guy at school Zach. boy were all three of us wrong. some days later her arch rival Sandy ends up dead ending her theory of who's messing with her which freaks her out so she turns to her ex boyfriend which i find out later was a bad idea because as it turns out he was the one who was doing all that stuff to her and killed Sandy because he wanted her to need him and not lose her which is ironic cause since she found out how his state of mind was regarding her that just pushed her even further away then what she she was before so he thought since i can't have her no one will and drives straight off the bridge effectively killing himself and almost killing her. but she survives and Zach the sweet guy who treats her likes a princess and her family help her move on. one thing i think she should have done though was tell truth about what happened that way the murder case and her investigation could be closed but she didn't and never looked back. just like the first i love this one too.
4 Stars If you know me, then you will be aware that I'm a huge Kirsty Moseley fan, you may be shocked to hear that I had never read Free Falling, as it was the only book of Kirsty's I'd not read I decided to right that wrong and jump in ! I had been warned it wasn't a romance story in the true sense, what it is, is a story about what happens when love goes wrong, terribly wrong, how it effects the person and those around them. It's also a companion novel to always you featuring Clay and Reily but centering on their daughter Masie. Masie has the prefect life, great friends, family, a boyfriend who adores her, but Masie's life starts to ️Free fall when Zachary Anderson arrives at Masie's school. He is the cocky bad boy, that doesn't give a crap but Masie sees a different boy, a boy she believes in - not many people believe in Zachary. This story is not the typical love story, there's no great HEA but there's no cliffhanger either what this book leaves you with is hope, hope that time heals, hope that love will find a way because they really deserve it and so do I ! I don't know if Kirsty plans on writing a sequel to this but I'm keeping my fingers crossed, I want more Zachary Anderson.
KIRSTY you have done it again loved this book just like your others you had me hooked.I'm not going to say too much about story line apart from this is a follow on from always you but you wouldn't have to read always you to get this story.I've got to say I got it 50% in and I worked it out you will only know what I'm talking about if you have read the book so if you don't know get reading :) I sat there thinking no way kirsty wouldn't do that but oh you did and it made the book I sat there sobbing it was brilliant.1more thing Zach swoon ALERT I love Zach.so anyone who hasn't read this I would 100% recommend if you turn into sobbing wreck like me have box of tissues ready.Free Falling
This was utter drivel. I did not expect something like this from the author of 'Nothing Left to Lose." Maisie had no backbone, she kept turning to a cheating boyfriend when she had a loving family to fall back on. I get that she was accustomed to relying on him but he broke her trust and freely admitted that he did it of his own free will; being drunk is no excuse for forgetting your morals.
I also do not believe that if you truly love and respect someone, you can hurt their feelings and act like a jerk towards them to preserve your public image. Respect is not something normal people can turn or off.
To top it all, Maisie felt she had the right to cover up his sins to preserve his memory...what c***! Sandy's parents had the right to know why their child was taken from them. Maisie conveniently forgot their pain in order to cover for a lying, cheating, obsessive, stalkerish psychopath because she loved him! Even if I believe that love is blind, it is not blind enough to overlook such blatant violations of the basic rules of humanity. I refuse to believe that you can forgive someone's conscious mistakes when they feel no remorse, rather compound their error by committing an even more heinous crime. Honestly, what sealed the deal was the fact that Maisie felt she had the right to forgive Luke for harming someone else. What gave her that omniscient authority?
Also, the nice guy was more of an afterthought, acting like a pacification mechanism to tell the readers that Maisie still had a chance at being happy.
Okay so this book is kind of amazing and annoying at the same time. I'm quite surprised that it hasn't got better ratings because it really is a gripping book! I'm not easily pleased with romance books, they all seem to have the same plot and similar characters and I don't often get that exiting thrill of being totally engrossed in it. This book was different! Finally a romance book with an exiting plot with twists and surprises! So for that reason it kept me up all night reading. On a more critical note, the book was tedious in places such as when Maisie is literally talking us through what she is doing in school step by step. I also thought that we could have seen a little bit more development of the relationship of Zach and Maisie, because I honestly felt more attached to Luke than to Zach and in my opinion Zach should have been a really important character. I also didn't like the ending. It seemed really lame of Maisie to not blame (YOU KNOW WHO) and it just made her seem weak! Anyway overall I enjoyed this book, for keeping me gripped this book has just managed to scrape 4 stars, although this rating is perhaps a little undeserving.
Oh my god !!! What the hell .... Okay so I really love Kirsty Moseley .the boy who sneaks in to my bedroom window is my favourite book in the world I love everything about it and always you is in my top 5 . So I was so happy to get free falling So when i was done i was really mad !! I hated luke and I didn't get why Maisie was so in love with him .... And why was he in so much of the book ?? It's was like this was his book !!! But I did love zach from the first time we meet him , I really wanted Maisie to be with him and for this to be there book like Riley and clay or amber and Liam but no !!! This book did not have a enough Zach , there was no hot sexy romantic time. ??? Just god !!! Every other one of Kirsty Moseley books has received 5 stars with some on my favourite list but I hates this one so if you love Kirsty Moseley and was thinking about getting this book don't do it !! But I do hope she keep making more books :) I was love for Alex to get a book because I love him or maybe zach can get a book with a better girl and can Kirsty please go back to how your other books are xx
There are no words I can find about how I feel about this book. Lets say It was good enough where I couldn't put it down till I was down reading it, and that was in one day :) It was a great twist in romance/drama from what I've been reading. I'm in school for criminal justice and I couldn't of read this book in a more perfect time for one of my classes! We were discussing profile/investigating and what not and this book helped me for one of our discussions about profiling. If you don't understand the meaning of profiling this book will defiantly give you an understanding what it is and how people always judge a book by its cover and jump to conclusions. I don't want to give away the book because its worth reading. In this book by Kirsty Moseley shows how opposites attract, young love, high school drama, protective bother/father, heart break, friendship, crime(my heart broke once masisie walked in on her boyfriend and that trap, it was like I felt was she was feeling at that moment :(
*I love how Kirsty used the characters from "Always you" Riley and Clay <3 if you read the book you know they had twins ;)
HUGE fan of kirsty moseley read all her stuff always you....the boy who sneaks in my bedroom window...fighting to be free...nothing left to lose....all of them and loved them! That being said I was sooo disappointed in this book on IBooks the book is 546 I'm on page 383 right now...yeah I stopped just to write this review more than half way through the book and she has no connection with zack she's still pining away for the boyfriend she caught cheating on her and talking about she can't live without him and she needs him the book is making me more annoyed than anything the interaction between her and zack is soooo spread out the meet......1 week later.......she tutors him.......2 days later ....another interaction.....I know that I'm probably being a bit dramatic on the time line but there scenes are mostly between her and Luke and wanting to get back to him all in all just really dissipointed that being said I love kirsty moseley you can't love them all this book just wasn't my cup of tea but I'm still going to support her I can't wait for the sequel to fighting to be free!!!
That was a different kind of a read if you ask me. I mean when the letters and flowers started coming, I was like, "Is this some freaky stalker-ish movie?" The whole agenda behind the stalkery thing that Luke did, was kinda stupid. Okay, very stupid. A lot, yes major. One word to describe such an act: desperate. And the word to describe the guy: psycho. I mean who does this? Oh right, the mentally challenged, psycho people.
The beginning was really good. I was kind of looking forward to it. And then you had to go ruin it with the stalker thingy. I mean, seriously why? It would have been a whole lot better if the author focused more in Zach and Maisie.
This is my second Kristy Moseley book, and I sure did get my hopes up way too high. But the story cannot be categorized as bad. So, its 3 stars from me.
I am a huge Kirsty Moseley fan. There are two things I love about her books, first I love the romance and watching the characters fall in love. Second I love how you can always count on having a great epilogue and getting to see how the couple is doing in the future. However this book didn't have either. After reading this book I felt like I didn't get a whole story just a lot of filler and other parts that drug on too long. I fill like the story should have started where the epilogue ended and just added a prologue to know what happened to her. I didn't really relate to the characters in this book and the characters I liked didn't get enough scenes in the book. I still enjoyed all of Kirsty Moseley's other stories so I plan to read her other books in the future.
I absolutely love Kirsty Mosley books but have to say I didn't fully enjoy this one. I figured the twist out early on so some parts made me cringe to read but I had to push on as I knew Kirsty always wraps her books up beautifully and gives characters justice, I do have to say I found the love chemistry between Maisie and Zach frustratingly brilliant and got me routing for the them through out, wished for a little more romance to lighten it up alittle but all over a good read and liked the link to always yours, clays final words couldn't be truer ;) x
Just finished Free Falling by Kirsty Moseley sadly my suspicions were right. This book deals with Love, trust and obsession. I can honestly say I hope no one ever loves me that much. Kirsty Moseley has a way of pulling you into her stories because they deal with real issues that happen everyday in society. This book was no different than her others I laughed I cried I felt compassion. Wish there was more to this story I would love to see more of a HEA
Another 5 star book! The book is very different from another of her books but it was AMAZING! This story will make you feel like you are in the book as Maisie ( main character ). The things that happen will make you cry, laugh, & smile. This was an awesome mystery book with heartbreaks, shocks, and questioning...... I recommend this book to anyone.
P.S. read Always You first if you want some background info on the mom and dad :)
