Ok, so I think the editing issues are decreasing each book. Still there, though. I am enjoying reading this series, regardless.
I realize that in my last couple of reviews on this series, I haven't given any overview. It's about angels trying to save the world from evil/the end of all mankind. It's their mission to keep evil from finding an important map that reveals an important location. If evil were to find it, it would tip the scales towards the end of the world.
This particular book in the series was about a Guardian angel who was on the way to being evil because of a tragedy in her life/afterlife. After a series of dangerous adventures, all was balanced again. After more tragedy, the book ends on a big reveal, which causes a lot of fear and anguish to the main character, who is a human helping the angels, and the First Guardian, who is the leader of Guardians.
I do recommend reading this series if you are interested in the supernatural, adventure and romance. Yes, of course, there is romance. What book doesn't add a little these days?

This sequel was amazing, it kept me turning the page and I finished it in just one day. It had adventure, romance, action, and some funny scenes.

I loved how this book showed a little bit of Ameana's soft side, but still had her usual self. One of my favorite scene was when Ameana and Emmy had their talk, it was nice to see Ameana trying to make "small talk"... Ameana also has a tiny bit of romance going on in this book and I think there will be a love triangle soon, that doesn't involve Marcus. ;)
Emmy and Marcus had a beautiful romance in this book, and I really captured the fact that they would protect each other no matter what.

The ending definitely had me shocked and wondering what will happen next. Talk about a big cliff hanger!!! I would definitely recommend this book, and I am so excited for the next one!

I thought the story couldn't get any better then in books 1 and 2. But I was proven wrong when I read this one!!!! I think that this one had to be my absolute favorite. Seeing Miku go soooo Redd!!! And seeing Marcus and Emmys relationship get taken to a whole knew level!!!! I mean WOW!! But I do have to say that I was excepting Rio and Miku's death to be.... I don't know bigger. Through out the first and second everyone kept saying that their death was SOOO bad and that " it was know on 4 continents", so I guess I just expected more. All around thought perfect!!!!! Ms. St.Vil you are one hell of a writer and I hope once the Gaurdian series is over you still continue writing fabulous books!!!!!!!!!!

OMG! Couldn't put it down!! No, but really I did not put this book down for four hours. Minus the 5 minutes it took me to feed my dog because his whining was too much to take. It was amazing. I was so happy and at times extremely depressed. But, the real heart stopping moment is the cliffhanger. DO NOT BE ONE THOSE PEOPLE WHO READS THE ENDING FIRST!!! Seriously you will ruin the ENTIRE book!! I love this series and I can not wait for book 4. I have no idea what I will do besides dream up ways that the book could go, because honestly I have no idea how they are going to do what they need to do. You will not be disappointed. Get this book...like NOW!!

Loved the story!!! Although, I really miss Reese. Rio and Miku are also my favorites but Emmy whines a lot and never listens! I just don't care for her much or Marcus. Still loved the book!!!📚

I recieved a copy of this for review by the author so first i want to thank her for generously letting me read her book.

First i have to start off by saying "What a cliffhanger!". Wow, was so not expecting that one. But thats what makes a good book. Anyway, so this book, pretty much follow's the fallout of Miku (who now calls herself Red) turning. And boy did she turn. That is one angry Angel, if you can even call her that anymore. This book pretty much jumps right into action from the start. And throughout the book the Guardians are left to deal with the fallout of Miku having turned and all the chaos and distruction she has caused as well as the fact that they have not found the Triplex and there is the ever-present issue of the Emmy/Marcus/Ameana triangle... well not really a triangle at this point its more Emmy & Marcus and a very pissed off and bitter Ameana. But i guess i can't blame her, even though im team "Emmy" when it comes to Marcus. There is trouble at every turn for these Angels and human, and i think thats what keeps it interesting, you never know whats gonna happen next. And this book has proven to be the book that has the most shocks and revelations in it. This series just gets better with each book. I dont know how i can wait until Jan. for book 4! The suspense will probably kill me! HAHA. Great book from a great author. Would so recommend this.

Amazing. A story like no other. There are angels, guardians, paras, etc. If you want an excellent paranormal read, then this is it. Instead of vampires, we are introduced to angels. Angels and a human, who need to save the world. Of course it wouldn't be an excellent read without romance, right?!?! The electric vibes between Marcus and Emmy are so intense that you can actually feel it, while reading. She wants him, he wants her ... But something stands in the way. There is nothing Emmy would not do or endure to get closer to Marcus. There is no end to what Marcus will do to protect Emmy and make her, his. Such a great storyline. Again, like NO other. I suggest this series to anyone who enjoys YA Paranormal Fantasy. There are currently 5 1/2 books out. The second half of book 5 will be released during the next 2 weeks and I believe the 6th and final book will be released by the end of the year. Amazon currently has book 1 as an e-book for free. Check it out .. You won't be disappointed!!

OMG!!!! This story just gets better and better. In this book, we are introduced to Miku's grief stricken alter ego Redd, as well as 2 new characters - one good and one evil. The character of Julian is further developed as is the character Tony-Tone.

There's a trip to an Angel Prison as well as a trip to Hell, but who is it that goes there? An amazing revelation about one of the Guardians' is revealed and one of the Akons' is killed. A second character is killed off and Emmy finds herself doing something she never thought possible.

The twists and turns make this a difficult book to put down and the ending is an absolute cliff hanger.

I 're-listened to this story.

This was a magnificent story even if it's a YA genre. I loved it and I highly recommend it, especially if you listen to it. The narrator's did an exceptional job with their performance and Lola Stvil captivated me with this series.

I kept turning the page, I finished it in just one day. It had adventure, romance, action, and some funny lines (Their sarcasm at Difi was my favourite part).

I loved how this book showed a little bit of Ameana's soft side but still had her usual harshness. AND finally, a love triangle that doesn’t involve Marcus!

I was not expecting the ending but I am wondering
what will happen next. Talk about a big cliffhanger!

Beautiful story

Great stories, the publisher could have done a better job for the author. The typos were enough to notice. The continuing story of Emmy and her angel tribe is heart felt and gruelling with the endless near death experiences. Characters are beautifully complex and easy to grow attached to. See you after book 4.

Okay, this review is not just for this particular book (I'm putting the same version on each book) but for every single hair pulling book in the series. I have rated the books mostly 4's and I'll stand by that because the story, had it been about something like super heroes, rather than "angels/demons" it would have been great. But...they're not. They're about...um...Lola St. Vil's warped idea of angels. Here are my MAIN issues.

1: She is obviously either an Atheist or not of a Christian religion because she actually has it that when people die, they become Angels. NOPE, wrong. Angels were created by God to be pristinely good, he created them all Male, and it is mentioned in the Bible that people do not go to Heaven or Hell immediately. They're lying in wait (something like asleep) until the day of Judgement. At that point they will either enter Heaven or Hell, but NOT...NOT NOT NOT as an Angel or Demon.

2: Even if people could become Angels, she has what she calls Originals, created by God. However they are as immature as 14 year old children. My case in point would be Raphael fawning over Miku/Redd like he was a teenage girl at a Justin Bieber concert. This was disgusting. Angels would be NOTHING but professional or they would be kicked out of Heaven. Which brings me to the next issue:

3: Angel prison? Angels on drugs? Angels having Sex? She's missing a MAJOR issue here. Again, Angels are pristinely good. There is an Angel prison, it's called Hell, and only one angel ever went there. Satan himself when he fell. Pristinely good beings would never even be tempted nor affected by Drugs. And God created all Angels, there is no need for them to procreate, and being that he created all Angels Male...it would be kinda hard to do that even if they could. COME ON!! I was ready to claw out my brain cells that had been "fortunate" to survive reading these books up to this point!!

4: What was with renaming everything/one? What in the Hell is Difi? Because it's definitely not Hell...Who is Omnis. God is God, he goes by different names depending on who is talking about him, but trust me, Omnis is NOT one of them. And why is he so powerless/nonchalant in these books? If you're gonna change the name of everything and everyone, why keep the Original's names? Gabriel, Raphael, why not call them Kanye and Fred?

She should have taken the whole "religious" aspect (and I use that word LIGHTLY) out, and instead created the Guardians to be some sort of Super Hero group. Maybe they were given special powers after they died by a race of aliens, or something similar and they were given the task to save the world from another dark race of aliens intending on ruling earth. THAT would have made every issue I had with the book be a NON ISSUE!!

But instead, Lola St. Vil had to make a complete MOCKERY of Christianity. Very disappointed...very disappointed!!

definitely better than the last.
it's still not perfect and the typos are still very present and constant, but if we ignore the editing errors the story is pretty good.
the drama with Redd was definitely entertaining and the new character introductions are pretty fun.
The relationship between Marcus and Emmy is still not my favorite but I guess it's developing nicely.

SPOILERS

the bad:

The outburst from Wolf was a bit over dramatic in my opinion.
Emmys' little swim in the lake was predictable and pretty dumb on her part as is the norm. The way she got out of it was super hilarious though.
when they got Redd back it was a little anticlimactic, at least Rio said something funny when they got him back...
When Emmy's mom died I was shocked and not, let me explain: I was shocked that her mom was dead but when they walked in and the water is just running so Emmy assumes her mom is in the kitchen I knew something was up. Every time Emmy actually talks about coming home and her mom being home, she welcomes her. EVERY time. if her mom doesn't welcome her home in any way, then she's not home. This tells me that Emmy should have just known that something was wrong. She sometimes seems so stupid though that it doesn't surprise me.
Emmy suddenly feeling all better about her mom because Marcus gets his Rah back *sigh* I get the little bit of excitement but she goes straight for it... your mom just died! wait a freaking second before you try to screw your boyfriend!

the good.

Crazy Redd. just, yes! she's freaking scary. I want the guardians to bring her back but while she's crazy, might as well have her go all out. I love it!
Wolf just, wolf. everything about this guy is in some way awesome. He knows he's pretty awesome and he walks around shirtless like a big "I'm sexy and I know it" it's funny, but his reaction to finding out Tony could crochet? I had to close the book and just take a minute to laugh.
I've already established that I like Wolf. Wolf/Amena though... I think of it as a fun fling for her. I think she'll definitely have a more chaotic crazy love hate long term thing with Rage. mark my words.
I enjoyed the trip to Hell (or whatever she calls it) It really brought the Memmy relationship up a notch.
Lastly, the Triplex is inside Emmy! when they talked about the thing in Juniors heart that was my first thought! I figured it was in her eyes though not that they'd have to kill her to get it out!
this one really caught me off guard and I'm really looking forward to finding out how that'll turn out. All the crap about Memmy dooming humanity makes more sense now. Its not that her stupidity is gonna doom then all (though it seemed possible) it's that Marcus is the first Guardian. He is the only one allowed to kill a human with a soul if there's good reason and there's no chance in Hell he's going to kill Emmy to get the Triplex but the Akon won't hesitate once they find out. boom! doom.

Ready for the next.

Oh My Gosh! I can't believe that Miku became Dark! She is so nice in the book and now shes evil because of her brother? Can't wait to read the next book to find out what the team will do with the triplex after they found it at the end! I still can't believe that I've already read the 3rd book in one day, however there were some parts of the book that I liked and disliked.

After the council chose Rio to go to Hell for what he did to save the mortals, Miku changed into a dark angel unlike she was before. Miku is now Redd who kills people for anything she wants. She has someone to help her throughout the whole killing. Rio and Miku is now gone from the team. Jay keeps to himself since Rio died. After all of the enormous changes, they got a new mission to do....the Sage told them that Rio was alive in the limbo because Lucy saved him before he got into the fire of hell. To Lucy the twins' power is very important to have for the missions. Marcus and his team has to find the key in order to get Rio out of the limbo in Hell. In Hell Emmy killed Lucy's valuable son during the torture that he did to Emmy and Marcus after they found Rio's body. Lucy's rage got worse enough that she killed Emmy's mother. At the end Marcus found out where the triplex is after talking with Juillian.

I wished that they didn't have to go through so much to get Rio back especially from Hell limbo! I hated the part that Redd (dark angel Miku) killed that many people in this book, but I understand that Miku isn't herself...I wished that Wolf and Ameana don't fight a lot, but they did it because they don't want to admit that they are in love with each other. I really want Emmy to get along with her father.. There are parts I disliked, but I still love this book!!!

I loved how Ameana gave Marcus' Rah back,so that Marcus can give his love to Emmy when she got depressed after her mother died. Ameana finally found someone she loves after she gotten broke up from Marcus. I love that part that she found happiness instead of sadness forever. At the end I couldn't believe that Rio and Miku is back on the team! Rio got released from the limbo and Miku turned back to normal after she saw Rio alive as well. I just love the twist and turns in this series so far!

As you can see I really liked this book so much that I couldn't get my eyes off of it for 1 day! I will give this book a 5 stars because Rio is still alive as well as Miku being normal again! I loved the twist and turns in this book! Thank you again, Lola...for writing this series for the readers to read!!

After the ginormous cliffhanger at the end of the previous book, we pick up not long from where we left off. We learn early how it was that the twins died. I figured it was something like that, but…it really was horrible.

Okay, what’s about to follow is a bit spoiler-ific, so skip the next paragraph is you haven’t read the earlier book!

After her brother is sentenced to hell, Mika kind of goes nuts and I don’t blame her. I personally think that the Council sucks, too, I just wish she hadn’t killed so many people on her road to revenge. The twist about Rio was awesome, especially since I didn’t like the end of the previous book.

Emmy and Marcus are utterly adorable in this story, as they always have been. They still can’t kiss, but they’re so still cute! (And I still hate Amaena until the end of this one. Sorry.)

I enjoyed this book very much. I wish I’d discovered it sooner. No, wait, that’s a lie. I’m glad that I found it when I did so that I could go and read the next!

I confess, when I first started reading this book, I was like 'Oh blah, bloody angels and bloody demons, blah.'

How wrong could I have been?

Lola St. Vil's Guardians series is one of the most compelling things I have been dragged into (even if at first it was almost kicking and screaming), and are compulsive reading.

Could. Not. Put. This. Down.

A lot of the supernatural/paranormal aspects of literature have been done to death in recent years, but these books provide a fresh take on a genre that previously left me a little cold.

St. Vil weaves a whole alternate world, so much like the one that we live in, that is vivid and engaging. Her characters have a level of realism that I wouldn't have thought possible, considering the premise, and I found by the end of the book I not only cared about them but I was dying to find out what happened next.

Not only that but the cliffhanger ending just leaves you perched on the edge of a literary precipice, ready to dive between the pages of the next book at the earliest possible opportunity. Fantastic.

"The Turn (Guardians, #3)" by Lola St. Vil is a part of the young adult fantasy series that continues to explore the world of guardians, demons, and supernatural abilities. In this installment, readers follow the ongoing journey of Layla, the central protagonist, as she faces new challenges and dangers in her role as a guardian.

One of the strengths of "The Turn" is its continuation of the intriguing mythology and lore established in the earlier books of the series. Lola St. Vil maintains the complex world of guardians and demons, expanding upon the existing narrative threads and character arcs. This consistency allows dedicated readers to dive deeper into the universe and further explore the characters and their relationships.

Character development remains a key focus in this installment. Layla's growth as a guardian and her evolving relationships with other characters are explored in greater depth. Her personal struggles and challenges add depth to the story, making her a relatable and engaging protagonist.

It gets better!

The third book had a lot of imagination and much fewer mistakes than the previous one. Still for the sale price of $4.99 a piece the author should have an editor. However it was a very interesting reading with a couple reminders from other books written by different authors. Not plagiarism but scenes like the description of the floor in The house of Fire with the embedded hell bound people is kind of trite. Hieronymous Boss was an inspiring painter but still he was in Middle Ages and too many people used him to depict Hell. All in all happy I bought it, I'll buy the next one too!
