The fourth installment of the Bold as Love series begins where Whatever It Takes ends. Battles are arising for Emily and Jake individually and together as a couple. It's time for these two to grow up and deal with their demons.
Emily will face her mother one last time and Jake's dream of playing in the NHL is within his grasp. It's essential that this couple stand united while traveling the roads together when one day alters their future forever.
After all, making a dream come true requires hard work and sacrifices.
Lindsay Paige is the author of multiple Young Adult, New Adult, and Sports romances. She also enjoys writing books with characters who deal with anxiety and depression, issues which are close to her heart. Lindsay is a North Carolinian who loves watching hockey, sharing puns, having conversations with her two dogs, rewatching episodes of M*A*S*H, and living her dream of writing books for a living.
I hate using the word pointless when it comes to books because I know that many hours of work went into writing it, but this is how I feel about Always. Before I picked up this book I was worried about how I was going to like it because I've read the previous books quite a while ago, but I quickly remembered the gist of it. And that's because Always was pretty much rehashing old issues all over again with a few new plot twist thrown in that didn't pull me out of boredom while reading it because of all the repetition. Repetition within this book and among all the books in the series.
The main character kept crying, they kept breaking up and getting back together by professing their love for each other. It just seemed like a very unhealthy relationship and I almost stood up and clapped when the Emily's (the MC) dad brought up the same concerns I've had throughot the whole book. And another thing that almost made me scream in frustration was the excessive use of nicknames. I don't generally mind them at all, it shows affection the characters have for each other, but it was just too much. Everything was "my Sweetness" this and "my Sweetness that" and Emily kept calling Jake "love" which just sounded weird and out of context.
This is such a bore. There's too much fighting, arguing and such.
Emily: Ugh. That girl makes me want to rip her head off. I know that it's on her character to be such a needy person but girl, that was too needy.
Jake: I still love you. Why do you have to be so perfect?
Ms. Paige, may I suggest that the next book should be the last one because I don't want you to become like those other authors that drags the story for popularity or worse, MONEY.
When I first started reading this series it was cute and enjoyable little read, but as each book progress it's almost exactly the same as the last one. It's the same issue's, same arguments between Jake and Emily, and they never really get resolved. just get rolled over to the next book. I am slightly disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it's not a horrendous book, but it's not a particularly good one. And also, while it was sweet in the beginning with Jake and Emily calling each other 'Love' and 'Sweetness', it's almost painful and unbearable in this book, almost every conversational sentence between the two contains either of the nicknames and it's just too much. After a search Sweetness is used 231 times, and Love is used over 250 times. That's just too much for a small book. I wouldn't particularly recommend this book or this series unfortunately.
As the series continued the more I became annoyed. It seems that Emily has zero redeeming qualities. I usually always want the two main characters in a book to make it through whatever problems they had, but in the case of this book I was absolutely rooting for jake and Emily to break up! When Jake took Emily back and then asks her to marry him I was done with this book. So ridiculous and I would not recommend reading past book two of this series.

This one didn't read as fast as the others in the series so far. I was beginning to get annoyed with Emily's constant drama, but then the storyline flipped and got more interesting.
Another good coming of age book. This one was filled with a lot of trials for Emily to overcome. Loved reading about how Jake tries to help Emily the best he can.
The fourth instalment of the BOLD AS LOVE series lives up to its predecessors and leaves you waiting for the next one as well. Jake and emily face the trials of young love and trying to be together as life throws the inevitable problems and changes you face at them. You really pull for them but understand each has their own demons that make life harder for them than it should be, as do we all. Well drawn and fun, this series keeps on delivering.
Always did not disappoint! Jake and Emily are continuing their lives together, both are in college, and working. Life begins to get difficult and the couple starts arguing and it seems as if they will never catch a break! Will they prevail? You'll have to read to find out :) I absolutely love the bold as love series. It's a great YA, I definitely recommend!
I love the story of Jake and Sweetness. they both have endured so much heartache and trauma at such young ages but they prevail because of their love even though that doesn't come easy either. a MUST read for everyone
Great story...family is strong.... love is strong. Shows that you should never quit or second guess yourself. If you have a dream...never let go. God has a path for us to follow our dreams and life.
This book was awesome I really enjoyed reading it. I guess that sometimes life can be very hard but if you're patient enough then great things may come in the future. I look forward to finish reading this book series.
This was a nice continuation of their story and it was nice to see both Jake and Emily grow up some more and face tough decisions together. I will definitely read the next book in this series.
The editing drove me crazy, that's the only thing that was negative. The rest of this series was good. A quick read that probably could have been just one or two books.
