Where to start? Well, The Last Husband leaves off where The Last Boyfriend left off.
This time around Lucky and Zane has one crazy ride and many surprises along the way! Many obstacles to over come throughout this book. Zane ticked me off a good majority of this book, J has a way of twisting words, sentences, thoughts to make it seem like something else is happening, I'm sure you all know what I mean. With Leo, Angelique, Leeza and so many things throughout this book. That makes Jamie one spectacular author, if you aren't aware of this fact, you need to read her books and find out for yourself. Of course, Zane was beyond hilarious in this book, perhaps more so than The Last Boyfriend, Leo was a riot also, Lucky, well Lucky I just adore and love. She is such a strong character and doesn't take any of Zane's crap! Not afraid to tell him "no" or how something is. That girl put up with a lot, I'm proud she did. Her and Zane belong together, that much is clear. And by the end of the book you will see that for sure. Zane has made his mistakes and he has issues, but he is one amazing man and book boyfriend, so sweet and wait until the end of the book, the thing he does for Paul and his mother, he is such an amazing man. Love him to pieces. I can't give much away, but pay attention to this book folks, there is some foreshadowing and if you pay attention, you will be able to figure some things out by the end of the book. My lips are sealed now. That's all you will get from me, this is an amazing sequel to the series and ended beautifully! Must read ladies <3

Some favorite quotes:

"Back door already?"

"I don't mind you ruined the sheets."

"For you I'd weather any storm."

"Holy shit Batman, is this for real?"

"I was just joking Lucky but I think you're about to become the best girlfriend ever."

"I'd rather we call him Zane Jr."

"We're soulmates, soulmates always meet up at some point in their life."

"Say you'll marry me Lucky. I love you to the moon and back. Since you've been in my life, I've felt such contentment. You've been able to awaken my heart and make me whole again, I don't just want to be your last boyfriend, I want to be your last husband."

DNF 91%. Yeah, I can't believe I didn't finish it. The plot was interesting (although there were some serious issues with realism) but the rest of it... The things that I didn't like in the first book got worse. The dialogue felt odd and stilted, the characters were flip flopping and contradicting themselves, Lucky seemed less mature, and Zane was deep into his weirdly lovesick persona. It just didn't work for me at all.

Solid 5 out of 5 STARS; I loved the love. I love the twists. I will just say, I loved the book. Zane is a broken soul whose mother left him and his brother when he was six years old. Zane has never gotten over the loss that his mother left and never came back. Therefore, swearing that he would never allow someone into his heart again. However, we met Lucky in The Last Boyfriend, who was able to show Zane that it is okay to open your heart. Zane loves Lucky, but he is still leery about letting her in completely. Not only is Zane nervous about giving his all to Lucky, he holds a lot secrets with a shady past. He thinks he is not worthy of Lucky’s love.

“I was the Huntsman, not the Prince. I don’t think I was going to be the Prince. “You deserve the fairytale.”

I loved Zane’s honesty.

“Women didn’t understand that men thought with their small heads first.”

Did I connect to the characters? I love Zane and I love Lucky. I love them separately and I love them together. I love how Zane is funny in a “dorky” way. I love it. I love how they tease and laugh and I just love. The book has me laughing, holding my heart and tearing.

“I’d do anything for you, Lucky. You are more important to me than I am to myself. Even if that mean you being with someone else.”

Pace of the story: There was not one dull moment in the book. I did not skip one word. The story is written in both Zane’s and Lucky’s POV and yet there was the suspense and “OMG…NO” moments.

Positives: I will probably not get enough of these characters. I love how the author combined a love story, with a little mystery and drama. This book has some steamy scenes, but they are not overdone. I hate when it is too much, but the initmate scenes between Zane and Lucky are cute, romantic and hot.

“I love you more than words can say, I’ll love you for a million days, I love you in different ways, I love you if you’ll always let me pay, I’d love you even if you were made of clay.”

“You’re a goof.”

Zane was corny, but I loved him.

The characters still had their insecurities about their new relationship, but I loved how it all developed. I love that my heart thudded and how I sometimes felt the pain and hurt.

Negatives: I have seen the mixed reviews for The Last Boyfriend, which I loved as well. The writing is simple, the characters are simple so I can see how someone can think that this series is ok, but if you thought The Last Boyfriend was just okay, you need to read The Last Husband. The characters are more developed. There is more to the book than a couple falling in love. As a side note, I cannot stand Lucky’s “BFF”, Leeza. She needs to go away. My one and only UGH thought about this book was the neglect of the birth control. “What are you thinking???!!!”

Do I recommend? I LOVE this series. I love these characters. I love.

Bottom line: I am so happy that I came across this book. I love that the author is doing a prequel on Zane and that there is a sequel to The Last Husband. Cannot wait to read more about these characters. Also, I would love to read more about Leonardo “Leo.”

Book Format Read: A copy was provided in exchange for an honest review. Thank you.

Owkey.. If you want a book that sucks you in from the very first moment, then this is the series you need to read!
I absolutely love J.S Cooper's 'Forever Love' series.

At the end of book #1 'The Last Boyfriend' Zane had stolen my heart!
But I must say that in book #2 'The Last Husband' there were a few moments that I was on the edge of whopping his ass :), in the end all ended just like it should have ended!

And let me tell you towards the end you get one hell of a surprise that I loved!! It's one that you really don't expect, I was over the moon about it!

Their relationship grows up.
Since Zane proposed to her that he wanted to be her "last boyfriend", they have tried to stay together at all times.
Still working on the documentary about the civil war, in honor of his brother Noah, Zane seeks to protect Lucky about the truth of his goal in last year: to avenge his brother death. And all things point to Braydon Eagle. Hollywood actor who's still chasing Lucky.

Lucky is increasingly surrounded by her handsome and enigmatic man, and feels that he also wants to be with her, but still, something prevents him from relying totally. It would be the abandonment of his mother so many years ago the reason for him remain closed?

A broken man having been abandoned by his mother and lost her beloved brother, Lucky could understand and accept, but never a betrayal. And with each passing day, and Zane showing up more and more mysterious, perhaps the rumors that he was cheating on her were true. Could their relationship will overcome this barrier?

In this book the balance has started to get a bit more better. As their romance grows, there is a whole mystery behind it. First because you begin to see the work of Zane in making Brayden pay for his crime.
He continues to hide from Lucky various things and it destabilizes their relationship. Zane's greatest fear is being abandoned again, and despite stating that Lucky would never do that, he can not count on luck to her understand everything has done and what he faced in recent months since his brother`s death. Mainly because in the middle of this storm was still Angelique, his brother`s ex-girlfriend, and Lucky had already shown her jealousy.

The only way to feel somewhat in control of the situation was arranging a bodyguard for Lucky, and his friend Leo comes into play.

Actually, there are several characters that surround this book: beyond the best friend Zane, Leo (liked him a lot!!!); the couple Johnson that give them the interview for the documentary; Leeza, Lucky`s roommate, and more surprises along the way.
Actually, this book is full of surprises. Some fantastic kind of ...

O-M-F*****-G!!!!!

But, most importantly, the main couple`s relationship close increasingly.
It is sad to see how Zane feels devastated trying to understand why he and his brother were abandoned by their mother, and how difficult it is to accept that he is worthy of being loved.
Here the "J.S. Cooper Quality Seal" continues and you can not put the book down for anything.

The surprises throughout history only make everything better.
The pace is still good. No running too.
Positive point: I love reading stories in which one of the characters will slowly blossoming. That sense of second chances in life that gives hope to us, mortals.
Negative point: I would say that I'm still feeling lost about Zane`s past - childhood. But the good news ended up winning the downside.
The love story between Zane and Lucky might have done well, but there are still 3 more books on the way (OMG!!!).

5 STARS!!

And you know that when a story really touches me, always has a little song that insists on playing in my mind. Well, this time it was "Two is Better than One", with Boys Like Girls and Taylor Swift.

I can`t wait for next books!!! Especially #4 and #5

I received this as an ARC from the author.

This starts up where The Last Boyfriends ends. I liked this one more than the first one! At times I wanted to slap Zane but by the end those feelings had changed and I just wanted to give him a hug. I think there was a bit more character development than we got in TLB which was great. You get a few twists and turns that aren't expected and others I had guessed before it happened, although I do that quite a bit. There was one minor character that touched my heart and I will remember him always. All in all it was a great read and I'm looking forward to Before Lucky!

In one word: Predictable.

I figured out the ending mid-way through the book and it actually became difficult to finish. But, I'm a glutten for challenges and I find it hard to quit a book mid-way through. So I skipped through some pages and started skimming.

My only wish for this story, besides better formatting and more twists and turns, was that Zane was written with more strength. He seems so weak to me which is a complete turn off. There were times where the author tried to make him seem overprotective and strong, but it was a fail.

I read this book because I read The Last Boyfriend and I felt that I needed to finish what I started. Sadly, I won't be reading the prequel or any other books in this series. I am done.

After reading "The Last Boyfriend" and not really connecting to the book, I do have to say I believe "The Last Husband" did flow a little better and the story line again was very good. This book was somewhat better but still the same problems as in book 1 the dialogue at times was awkward and continuously repeating the same information.

BUT I really, really LOVED the story line and having POV from both sides!!!!

"The Last Husband" continues where "The Last Boyfriend" left off. Zane begins to open up more to Lucky and pleads with her to give him a chance of trying to be a real boyfriend and to be patient with him since he doesn't 'do relationships'. As they work on the documentary together, Zane and Lucky begin to open up more with each other. Zane shares information about his past that helps Lucky to begin to understand why Zane acts the way he does. Zane is trying to recover from the death of his brother and find out information that could possibly be why his brother died so tragically. As more secrets are revealed, Lucky becomes more aware of her deep feelings for Zane and realizes no matter what happens between them the risk she took to be with Zane was worth it.

So many secrets, twisting plots keep you guessing what will happen next. This was the most exciting part of the book for me. Their relationship grew stronger and ends on a very happy note.....but the story will continue in the next book which will feature Noah, Zane's brother.

Some odd reason, I enjoyed book 1 – The Last Boyfriend (Click Here for my review) better than The Last Husband. I failed to connect with both the characters in this one. There were so many ups and downs that just caught me off guard. At first I thought I must have read it too fast but I went back and read it a second time but I still felt the same.

Lucky tells her friend Leeza that Zane ” is the one”, her soul mate but beyond the physical aspect of their relationship I didn’t see a good enough link between the two. Maybe there was a lack of description defending her soul mate claim but for me I just didn’t see it. I am hoping that my reasoning will change in the next book Before Lucky.

A good thing about this is the surprise at the end. I am glad that even with the rejection Zane experienced that he was able to find happiness and closure in another aspect.

Despite my rating I still recommend this. It has so much potential for growth, I am really eager to see where the author takes us in this series.

This is a continuation of Zane & Lucky's story from The Last Boyfriend. This is where we find out if their love can last through everything going on in their lives. Zane is still on vengeance to catch Braydon. He still keeps secrets from Lucky. She is still having a hard time trusting him even though she says she loves him. He is still unsure about a forever love because of his mom leaving and Noah's death. I loved following their story. There is laughter and tears(have Kleenexes) and some oh, so hot sex!!! There are a few surprises in this book also. Is Lucky pregnant? Does Zane catch Braydon? Does their love prevail? Does Zane find out about his mom? What is the story with Angelique? Please read!! If you liked The Last Boyfriend, I can promise you that you will LOVE The Last Husband!! You will not be disappointed. I am so looking forward to reading the next book, Before Lucky!! I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

ARC Copy received for honest review

You need to read 'The Last Boyfriend' before reading this book.

The Last Husband continues on from The Last Boyfriend.

Zane and Lucky's relationship is moving along in leaps and bounds, but the journey to a HEA is never easy.

Drug dealers, so-called best friends - anything that can be thrown in their path is.

At the end of The Last Boyfriend, Zane's behavioural change from commitment-phobe to wanting to be with Lucky seemed very quick but after reading 'Husband' and his struggles, does not seem so fast.

Add to this a twist that had me going 'oh wow!'

I read this in an afternoon and really enjoyed it.

The Last Husband Review,

The Last Husband Review

I give the The Last Husband 4.5 stars. I found it a great deal better than The Last Boyfriend. I connected with Zane easily with this read. In the first I found it hard, I wanted to hear more of his voice, but in this read you get so much more of Zane. I liked how their relationship was much more real than other fictional reads. As a couple they were hesitant. The Author also throws in a few twists that will shock you to the core. You will be like 'hold up, did that just really happen?'
The characters were a million more times likable in this read than in the first one. I highly recommend this.

awesome!!!! this book has so many twists and turns, leaves u wanting more, cause you cant wait to see what happens next! Zane has been through alot for being 25, his mom left him when he was 6, his brother committed suicide, he feels he is incapable to love or be loved. Lucky has had her share of hard times to, her parents both died and shes trying to make it thru college. their from two different worlds, his rich, her normal everyday! but love conquers all, isnt that the saying? my vote for best new adult book of 2013

3.5 stars. Yet again, another cheesy but adorable book. I liked it, even if I did gag on some of the corny stuff. I love how everything turned out. Though I do have to admit I wish there was a little bit more drama going on. It was slow at times but it wasn't "God this is so damn boring" type of book. I really am exited for the next book. I need a better conclusion!

If you have not read The First Boyfriend do not read!!

I couldn't wait to read The Last Husband ever since I read The Last Boyfriend. I was all about Zane and Lucky's story, with every turn of the page I couldn't get more fast enough. If you haven't read The Last Boyfriend, you must, than you will know a lot more about The Last Husband. The story did have POV's that I love!! I have to say I loved The Last Boyfriend, but I think The Last Husband was way better!!

I loved Zane from the beginning, I didn't think he was a creepy guy like the story started to play out.

.. Lucky is in LA with Zane. She's there doing a documentary with Zane, so Lucky thinks. So where The Last Boyfriend ended, She fell in love. Love with Zane. Zane decided that he was going to feel what he never felt before, his love to Lucky. He wanted to be her last boyfriend.

Zane is the type of guy that I picture as this hottie above, but someone that is very sure of himself, someone that has it all, the looks, money, job, stability. All the things us women look for. But what Zane is lacking is love. Being left as young child by his "mysterious mother", he has def has some mama issues.

Lucky, is by far my favorite. Just a good old all-American girl. One that wants to achieve everything in life, from having a perfect family, a family that struggled to make ends meet, and wants the perfect boyfriend. Has that crazy BF Leeza, that whores around.

The story takes you thru the scenes of Zane's brothers death and the Revenge he was set out to conquer, Taking down Braydon. He had to lie and deceive Lucky in different ways to take him down.

They had many probelms throughout the story, that both of them were afraid of and excited about.

The author lead you thru obstacles of lust, romance, and some very hot scenes, along with betrayal and heartache.

The one thing that Lucky hated was Angelique. She was Zane's brothers girlfriend before he died.

There was something about this girl that Lucky knew wasn't right. Didn't sit well with her.

And this story takes turns that you least expected. I totally didn't expect what did happen, and the ending took you on a wild ride. A good ride..that left me smiling at the end.

I wonder if there will be a RUBY LANE??????

I cant wait to read the next book, The Other Side of Love which will be released Sept 2013! There is a prequel coming in July 2013 called Before Lucky and on ther Guarding his Heart due December 2013!!

Little excerpt~

“Zane, those are not boxer shorts.” I gasped as I stared at him standing there in his briefs half-naked.

“What can I say?” He grinned at me and grabbed me by the waist. “I have no shame when it comes to you.”

“Why do I think we’re making a huge mistake?” I laughed and we ran to the ocean hand-in-hand. We dropped our clothes on the sand and I raced ahead of Zane. “Catch me if you can.” I jumped into the water and gasped at how cold it was. I dove under and swam to warm myself up and as I bobbed back up, the cool air caressed my face while the sun kissed me. I lay back on my back and floated in the water enjoying the warmth on my face for a few seconds before Zane grabbed me from behind.

“Come here you.” He growled and wrapped his arms around me tightly.

Surprised, Shocked & Awesome 👏🏽

I absolutely love J.S Cooper's 'Forever Love' series.

At the end of book #1 'The Last Boyfriend' Zane had stolen my heart!
But I must say that in book #2 'The Last Husband' there were a few moments that I was on the edge of Zane pissing me off for just not thinking like he should have, but then he won me back with his sweetness!!

In the end all ended just like it should have ended!

And let me tell you towards the end you get one hell of a surprise that I loved!! It's one that you really don't expect, I was over the moon about it!

Poor Zane.So much going on than he asked for. Trying to get his brothers drug dealing killers, trying to protect Lucky at any cost. Ugh thank fully after its over he takes her to Paris to get away and have his way with her. Only to realize the mother who left him and his brother when they were 6 & 4 is living in Paris. I would want answers. Can Zane handle the truth about his mother??? Need to read great story line. Now book 3

Amazing!

So great! It had everything I love in books. Romance, and humor, emotion and of course sexy times haha. I had gotten the first book and this one some time ago and I read through these so fast. I went and bough all the rest in the series for I can know the full story. I know the books I like aren't for everyone, but I hope some people can find these folks enjoyable.

Me sentía en la obligación de terminar la serie. No fue la gran cosa. Después de un rato solo se vuelve una lectura un poco aburrida y con cambios radicales de una página a la otra, pero supongo que, una vez que te acostumbras, no está tan mal.

Ok not so many angst. Zane worked with the FBI and caught Braydon and Angelique who worked with the drug cartel. They went to Paris. Zane’s mom refused to talk to him. Noah came back alive saying that he had to fake his death. Zane proposed to Lucky and they are going to have a twin baby.
