Beautiful. Infuriating. Enemy. I’m not the hero. I’m the fun one. The easygoing, youngest Riggs brother who makes people laugh. I’m a good time. Men want to be me. Women just want me. Except one. My new boss. My neighbor. My competition. And now, the woman I’ve just publicly claimed to love. Contessa Costa crashed into my small town and took the job at my family’s company. One that’s supposed to be mine. She’s not the kind of woman who needs rescuing, but when I witnessed the way our biggest competitor, and her ex-husband, talked to her and then touched her, I didn’t have another choice. Now I’m stuck trying to keep up appearances of this “relationship” for a marketing campaign that might be a career-ending gamble. And to prove to my father that I’m the committed and capable choice for CEO. But our lies are starting to feel better than our truth. Now I’m trying to decide if what I want is worth fighting for or if I’d rather just be fighting with her. How do you outsmart your enemy when you’ve stupidly fallen in love with her?
Forever a hopeful romantic, I write deliciously witty and wild characters. My stories range from small-town swoon-worthy men to fiercely powerful families and lead characters who aren't afraid to ask for what they want.
You will always find a little bit of fate, a whole lot of steam, and a wildly romantic ride.
"Don't let old ideas get in the way of something new."
Contessa Costa is done. After what her (now ex) husband has done, she cannot do this anymore. She will no longer be overshadowed by a man. Even if it means leaving her family's company. So when Asher Riggs, the head of the competition, comes to her with an offer. She knows it’s the right choice. The only thing standing in the way is the Boss's son. But Tessa is not going down without a fight. He doesn't know what he just walked into… But does Tessa?
"If he's going to be difficult, then I'll be happy to meet him there."
Law Riggs is the youngest. He has always felt overlooked. Not responsible enough for the CEO position at his family's company. So when he hears that the new interim CEO is from his company's competition, all bets are off. Law Riggs will do everything to make that position his. Tessa wants to play? She doesn't know what's coming. But does Law?
"My plans were to figure out who was taking this job out from under me and then find their weakness. Play dirty and take back what I've earned. But then she turned all of that on its head."
I received an advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
⭐ 4.5 stars ⭐
Tessa will no longer be in the shadows of a man. She has done that for too long and it's time for a change. Law Riggs wants to prove himself. Prove that it is his time. That he is ready. And that he is responsible enough for his family's business CEO job. Tessa's job. So what happens when they collide? And will it be the outcome they expect?
"Contessa Costa has messed me up… I'm trying to remember all the reasons why she's my biggest problem and not my most overplayed fantasy."
This book was "enemies-to-lovers" coded. And I am saying that because it is the perfect example of Hate-to-Love/Enemies-to-Lovers that I have read in a long time. The banter was there. The witty comebacks were serving. The tension was there always. And the dirty-talk!! This was *chef's kiss* enemies-to-lovers and I ate it up!
"But for some fucking reason, when I look at her and start talking, all I want to do is fight with her. Or rip her clothes off."
Tessa was such a badass in this book. Legit would let her run me over in her cherry red Fiat and then buy her all the shoes she wants. And Law was the definition of cheeky. Every interaction I ate it up so quick people!
"The way I want her just gets stronger the more time I spend around her."

Contessa leaves her old life behind her cheating husband and her father. Contessa moves into a small town and takes a new job as the new CEO for Riggs Outdoors.
Law is her enemy and she is also his new boss. The first half of the book was a bit slow but it does pick up. The banter between Law & Tessa was fun and you start to see how it gets harder for them to deny their connection. Their chemistry was super hot🔥
Tropes in this book: -enemies-to-lovers -small town -fake relationship -close proximity -dirty talking MCs -NO 3rd act breakup -Play parties, toy rodeos, and a splash of burlesque
Thank you Victoria Wilder & The Author Agency for this ARC
A Peak Performance is the 4th book in The Riggs Family Romance Series but can be read as a standalone. But, the series is honestly way toooo good to just read one.
I’ve been waiting for Law’s story because who doesn’t love a refined bad boy! This one blew my expectations and I loved it. Law was everything I needed and more. I loved that he never let his silliness go, even during his sweet and swoon worthy moments.
I love Victoria's writing of strong women and the strong men who support them. Each couple brings their own story of success and love. They all had such the perfect balance in partnership it was so good! And finally getting to know what Asher was up to even though I suspect it, I loved that he got a moment too.
The push and pull between Law and Tessa; the banter and tension throughout the book was everything. And the dirty talking, ummmm okay bye! Loved it!!!
Interconnected standalone book 4 (final book) Can be read alone but I REALLY don't suggest it.
🏔️ Small Town 🏔️ Enemies to lovers 🏔️ Neighbors 🏔️ Workplace (she *takes* his promotion 😱) 🏔️ Fake relationship 🏔️ Dirty talkers! 🏔️ Nicknames 🏔️ Toy party 🏔️ Mixing Dom + Sub roles
Goodness I can't believe this is the end, no more visits to Strutt's Peak. Although, I will never give up hope that one day we will be blessed with a bit more on Daddy Asher + Cal. I can feel a holiday novella one day 😉😜🙏.
The last member of the Riggs family is our boy Law. The youngest who's still a bit of a wild card. He's dying to take over as CEO in the family business but he finds out his dad has given the position to the daughter of their biggest competition.
They not only end up being cabin neighbors who share a fun room (no not that kind), but they fall into this *fake* relationship rather quickly.
I LOVED the spice in this. It may be my favorite of all the books. The mouths on these two 🥵. Their banter 🙌.
If you haven't jumped into this series yet the order is .... 1. Peaks of Color 2. Hide and Peak (my favorite) 3. Sneak Peak 4. A Peak Performance(my second fav)
Thank you to Victoria Wilder+ The Author agency for this arc
I devoured this book within 24 hours. This enemies to lovers, fake relationship, small town romance was amazing. Tessa is such a badass. Coming from a tough relationship, she flourished into a strong and independent force of nature by finding herself and figuring out who she was and what she wanted in life. The banter between her and Law was chefs kiss. 😙🤌🏻
Law Riggs. I don’t even know where to start. Everyone needs Law in their life. Protective ☑️ Thoughtful ☑️ Funny ☑️ And so many more things… Law Riggs is everything.
I loved the real life situations and feelings Victoria brought to this book that made it so enchanting. I also loved that there was no third act breakup.
I went into this thinking, I will love this, but no one can beat Michael and Grace…. Oh how wrong I was. This FMC… phew….. Tessa is everything. She is my favorite FMC of the series and that’s saying a lot because I loved G. She comes to find herself after trauma in a way that I wish every woman could. Victoria’s foreword really laid out a message that made me love the FMC before it even started. She’s strong willed, speaks her mind and is no longer on earth to cater to men’s wants and whims. Then we have Law. Baby bro Law taking center stage is everything I needed and more. He’s charming, funny, attentive and everything you need wrapped up in one package. Their chemistry from chapter 1 on is filled with tension (the best kind 😮💨) plus on top of all of this juiciness and spice, NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP SCENE! This entire series was tied into a nice little bow with this fourth book, and I think it is my favorite, but honestly they all are. I cried at the end…. It’s hard to say goodbye to all the characters you love, but I will be re-reading this series as my comfort books for years to come. I can’t wait to see what VW puts out next.
2 nights ago I cried myself to sleep because this series came to end. 😭 when I first discovered this series, I was just ready to dive into a small town but I had no idea how much I would end up falling for these characters and this town.
The last book in this series follows the along awaited brother, Law, and his work rival Tessa. Law has been working toward running his family’s company and when his father brings in someone else to run as the interim CEO, Law kinda loses it and tracks down who she is. But instead he becomes infatuated with her… so what’s more important? The girl? Or the job?
Tessa was everything I needed an FMC. I don’t want to get into too much detail but her family dynamic and attitude was just exactly what I needed to read.
You’ll love this book if you love ✨ strong FMC ✨ close proximity ✨ enemies to lovers ✨ “play party” ✨ fake dating ✨ workplace ✨ small town ✨ finding yourself ✨ no third act breakup
One of my most highly anticipated reads...the final book to complete the Riggs Family Series. Victoria has made it necessary to know that all Riggs family members get their HEAs and Law is no exception.
Law is trying to get his family and the board of directors at Riggs Outdoors to take him seriously...and that means he needs to know his competition...but what he doesn't expect is to have an instant connection that knocks him off his feet.
Tessa took a year to rediscover or really discover herself for the first time. She left behind her toxic relationships and started new. Now she is the interim CEO of Riggs Outdoors and she has everything to prove. What she didn't account for is the playboy, cocky personality of Law Riggs...and the trouble is she secretly likes their verbal sparring.
Expect: Age Gap Forced Proximity Workplace Romance Play Party Toys Fake Dating
The way that Law gradually chips a way at Tessa's walls and shows her she deserves to be treated by the people who love her.....boy oooooh boy I was here for it...and then some. Plus you had in their dynamic and the give and take of their relationship in every setting was fabulous.
I can't believe this is the final Riggs book!! I loved this whole series and can not wait to see what Victoria has in store for us next! Law and Tessa's chemistry were jumping out of these pages! The tension and the banter were spot on! Forced proximity at it's finest! She's his new CEO & neighbor 😉
While this wasn't my favorite story in the series Law & Tessa are definitely a top couple! I didn't connect with this particular story and felt it was a little all over the place. I, also, kind of wish we had even just a separate epilogue for Cal and Asher. I felt that their story needed a little more to it based on the lead up in books 1-3. With that being said the spice, banter, and Riggs family scenes made this book!
Tropes to look forward to: 🔥Enemies to Lovers 🔥Small Town 🔥Fake Relationship 🔥Close Proximity 🔥Workplace 🔥Dirty Talking MCs 🔥"Play" Parties, a toy rodeo, and little Burlesque
Enemies to lovers is always a great trope, but the banter and tension between Tessa and Law was something else!
Tessa is the definition of a badass girl boss. She lost everything but still managed to get herself together, move to a new place, new job, and do an amazing job at it!
Law started off seeming like a man-child, but he puts in a lot of hard work to prove he's worthy of the position he wants. His character development was amazing 👏🏼
I loved seeing Tessa cede control to Law in the bedroom....or rather wherever their spicy times happened. 🔥
This is the first book I've read from the series but I'll definitely be reading the first 3 to see the other Riggs brothers' stories!
Law Riggs. This man knows what he wants, and how to treat his woman. He listens. Yes ladies, he LISTENS and takes action 😮💨
Tessa is a BOSS. Literally. She finds herself when she feels the most alone and broken. She builds herself back up and stronger. She fights for what she wants and refuses to apologize for it.
When Tessa and Law meet it’s instant chemistry. They’re not supposed to fall for one another after all they hate each other, right? When they find themselves neighbors and constantly working together a fake relationship takes place. But what happens when you can’t tell what’s fake from what’s real anymore?
The banter. The spice. **chefs kiss**
“You may have been on your knees, but you’re my fucking queen, Tessa.”
Tropes: -Enemies to Lovers -Small Town -Fake Relationship -Close Proximity -Dirty Talking MCs -Play Parties, Toy Rodeos, and some burlesque
Law is the fun guy. The baby of the family. Nothing is serious for him… until his dream job is given to her.
Costa is learning who she is now that she has nothing. Years of being looked over, underestimated, belittled, and mistreated - it’s time to make a name for herself.
An enemies to lovers, fake dating turned real love best friends and I loved it all.
I went into this thinking there was no way in hell that Victoria Wilder was going to be able to top Michael. Hell, I even said that about Michael not being able to top Henry. I’ve been proven wrong time and time again. I will say this, they don’t necessarily top each book but they bring a different angle to the Riggs family that you’d never expect. That being said, I am blown away at how Wilder managed to put Law into character. Every book leading up into his story has shown us that that he’s the least serious of all Riggs boys. He’s not the settling down type. That he’s not made to lead, in anything. That is unless Contessa! She’s everything he wants and needs. She’s everything that turns this Riggs playboy into a totally different person. I figured she’d never be able to tie Law down. It just wasn’t in his nature until she showed us Contessa, who is not only bad ass, but a heroine in her own story. Cue knowing your worth!
I loved the banter. Oh man the banter was so good. Law has a filthy mouth but Contessa can give it right back. The hard exteriors but the wild yet soft moments. I ate this book for breakfast. It was fabulous.
I highly recommend reading Law & Tessa’s journey to discovering who they really are and what they are meant to be.
My only negative comment? I’m sad this is the last we’ll see of the Riggs family & Strutt’s Peak.
Heartbreak is not a justified enough word for what Contessa Costa feels when she sees her husband cheating with her intern. Not only is she embarrassed and irritated, anxiousness consumes Tessa on the future of her career in her father’s company. Especially since it is now directed by her cheating husband. Fortunately, as Contessa drunkenly overthinks at a local bar, business founder of Riggs Outdoor gives Contessa the ultimate escape—providing her a new job opportunity, and a place to stay, as she finds her footing.
Law Riggs has been working towards taking over Riggs Outdoor since all his siblings found new avenues in their careers. His marketing skills have preceded him, and he has maintained key roles in all departments to prove that this promotion is equipped for him. Hence, when news comes out of Contessa Costa being the interim CEO for Riggs Outdoor, Law could not be more disappointed. ‘Peak Performance’ follows Law and Tessa through a series of battles to prove their worthiness of the CEO role, add in a little sexual chemistry, and Victoria Wilder provides readers an entertaining enemies to lovers novel. Whilst the two share a spicy, passionate history, the respective dreams to be CEO of Riggs Outdoor creates distance. Tessa is set to prove herself in a male-dominated field and Law wants the role that the woman he hasn’t stopped thinking about has taken. The additional intervention of Tessa and Law being neighbours provides readers plenty of snide spats, banter and the ignition of emotion to drive the novel.
The dynamic of Law and Tessa is interesting and departs from many other romance novels. It finds a weird place in a the realm of Dom/sub, with Law being the latter. Law finds Tessa’s confidence and unwavering brutality attractive, with many times acknowledging how turned on he gets from her cutthroat approach. Interestingly, his admiration of her personality is the same reason she is able to win over the board in Riggs Outdoor. Therefore, we become privy to Law’s grapple over his growing attraction and the need to direct his family’s company. As a reader, I did empathise with Law a lot in the beginning of the novel. Whilst his actions do allow for the judgement from others, there seems to be a keenness in his approach to the business that does not warrant the insults he receives from Tessa, his father and the Board.
Tessa’s revenge arc is one that I am used to in novels. As a character, she keeps her head held high and thoughts of insecurity, and leniency are always kept in. The character Victoria Wilder builds is admirable and her wise integrity maintains throughout the whole novel.
The tension in this novel is one of the key drivers for its success. It’s clear the passion and intimacy between Tessa and Law keeps their relationship alive, and is the invisible string that pulls them close. A fake relationship in the plot avails this to its extreme, and is one of the most entertaining parts of the series. Law takes full advantage of their new relationship, with plenty of dirty talk, lingering touches and sizzling glances to keep their chemistry thriving. Tessa’s response to his antics? Absolute mind blank and it ultimately was refreshing seeing the intelligent woman succumb to her feelings for the youngest Riggs.
As a reader who jumped from Book 1 to Book 4 in the series, the atmosphere and tone respectively are completely different. ‘Peak Performance’ has a sexualised undertone, where characters are very confident in their sexuality and the plot thrives off of it. Furthermore, the voice is significantly more mature and the voices are distinct and unique—ensuring that readers are not receiving the same characters from past instalments again. I thoroughly enjoyed ‘Peak Performance’ and the intentionality Victoria Wilder brings to this novel. Besides the humour Law brings to the plot, a lot of heavy topics are discussed, and the personalities within this instalment allow it to be told in a realistic way. Once again, whilst the novel does not adhere to the small-town romance, the added fixture of reoccurring characters and the close-knit charm allured me as a reader. This is a fantastic end to the series and I am intrigued to see more from Victoria Wilder.
A Peak Performance is the 4th and final book of the Riggs family series, and Victoria nailed this one! Law Riggs has always been the carefree playboy brother, and to see him felled by love in this book was 🧑🍳💋 . Tessa was the perfect counterpart for Law; she is a strong, smart woman who can hold her own against him. They meet at a play party but soon realize who the other one is and go their separate ways. They reunite a month later when Tessa shows up in Strutt’s Peak as Law’s new boss – the job Law wanted.
What I loved most about this book was the connection and chemistry between Law and Tessa. It is straight fire. The banter here, you guys – O M G. Law is so gone for this woman off the bat. I love a boy-obsessed trope and he was a simp for Tessa. I liked how their relationship helped him grow into and accept himself. These are two people who are so different and yet they are absolutely perfect for each other. I loved that we see Tessa as CEO and that she’s serious about her job – one of the many things Victoria is great at is writing boss babe FMCs who can still be independent women and fall in love, which you rarely see. You see Tessa’s vulnerabilities but it doesn’t change that she’s a fully capable, kickass woman at her job and I can't even tell y'all how much I loved that Law supported her for who she was.
Guysss. The spiiiice. 🥵 Tessa is perfectly fine dominating in bed as much as she is submitting and so is Law. It’s a slow burn but the payoff? Hot. As. Heck.
If you’ve read the series, you know that Ash and Cal were a side story that we all had hoped would find its way into a full-length book. There is resolution here to their story, and my only complaint is that I just wanted more of them!
I am honestly not really ready to let this family go. Victoria has painted such a vivid picture of all these characters and the town, that it’s like saying goodbye to old friends. I can’t wait to see what she does next (I did call that Tessa’s book was an inception book within a book, though 😉)
READ FOR: -forced proximity -she's his boss -reformed playboy who falls harrrrd -fake dating -"Be a good boy and hold onto the headboard"
If you enjoy the reformed playboy trope, then this book is for you. And of course, it takes a very strong woman to reform said playboy, so you have that too. Plus a rather oddly placed sex club strand of the story, which I don’t quite get because it doesn’t seem to actually fit either character (maybe Law but not Tessa).
So why not more stars? There are just things that are kind of annoying about the series… esp the part that is supposed to be the actual supporting plot (the business). I mean, that’s the real fantasy here - this amazing, perfect amazon of winter sports that seems to do just about everything and does it well - including kinky night life b/c that’s what everyone needs out of a winter sports company. I also don’t understand the whole shared property house…
That being said, this installment nicely ties up the Riggs siblings series (with a happy ending for Papa Riggs / Daddy Asher* too… b/c no one say that coming [that was sarcasm]). The epilogue was sweet though the ending seemed a bit rushed.
Overall, I did enjoy the series from an entertainment standpoint and ultimately, that’s what matters. It’s small town, tight knit family focused, with strong female characters, and some quirky side characters too. Plots vary from ridiculous to even more ridiculous but all in the name of entertainment. And there’s quite a bit of steam, bordering smut. A sold 3.5 stars for the series overall.
Re: *Asher
Book 1 - Peaks of Color Book 2 - Hide and Peak Book 3 - The Sneak Peak Book 4 - A Peak Performance
Oh, this book without a doubt became my favorite, I had my doubts but it's because I have a little problem when the FMC are confident because they either show them as unrealistic characters or they show them as they should be and here the author here the author did not disappoint me.
From the previous books we see Law as the party boy, the little brother who doesn't take anything seriously and until the previous book when Asher tells him that he won't be the next CEO of the company we wanted to know what he would do to be able to have the position he wants plus I wanted to see him in love and let me tell you that Tessa is without a doubt his counterpart, his opposite but they complement each other completely.
Contessa is one of the best FMC's I've read so far, from the prologue we get a bit of her story, how she became the new member of the Riggs Outdoor team, especially in the position Law wants so much, the whole story with her husband and her father, which made my heart shrink for her; her attitude was great, I didn't feel her forced rather I felt her free, free to explore everything that was taken from her, free to be herself and I really enjoyed reading her, I mean when I grow up I want to be like her.
Law on the other hand, my beautiful Law, I think he takes a little bit Michael's place in my favorites, but only a little bit, I confess that I felt completely identified with his character, no, I am not the little daughter, but I have always been treated like a baby, even in my almost 30 years, my family does not believe that I can achieve anything and they think I am childish, and to see all this in a character like Law, who I liked from the first book, was great to read; His party boy, playboy character who didn't care about anything changes almost radically for Tessa and for him to prove to his father and brothers that he's ready to take the reins of the family business and to see the great evolution he had gave me hope.
Tessa and Law's relationship is without a doubt my favorite, they started out like cats and dogs fighting over everything, but come on Tessa took the position Law wanted and acted like the child everyone thought he was, because of things in life (I have my suspicions that someone had a hand in it) they become neighbors and later have to pretend to be together, everything blows up in their faces in terms of feelings and it was much better than I expected, Victoria writes such charming and romantic stories that I already want to go back and read this book again because of how good it is.
Going back to the town of Strutt's Peak feels like coming home and the extra epilogue the author gave us felt like the warmest hug of all, an enjoyable, beautiful read but with themes that may be triggering for some people so read with caution (in the first few pages is the list of trigger warnings).
Thanks to the author and the author agency for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review!!

ARC REVIEW + 📚 Book Recommendation: “A Peak Performance” by Victoria Wilder 🌟
Hey bookworms! 📖 I recently dove into the pages of A PEAK PERFORMANCE by the talented Victoria Wilder, and I couldn’t wait to share my thoughts with you all. 🤩
This captivating romantic novel takes us on a journey into the world of the charismatic youngest Riggs brother (Lawson aka Law), known for his easygoing charm that’s hard to resist. But hold onto your hats, because the story takes an exhilarating twist when he finds himself caught up in a whirlwind of competition, “fake” love, and career aspirations with none other than his new boss and neighbor, Tessa Costa. 🏡💼
Wilder’s storytelling prowess shines through as she skillfully weaves together elements of rivalry, corporate politics, and a simmering attraction that’ll keep you turning the pages long into the night.❤️🔥 The characters are beautifully developed, and the chemistry between our main protagonists is nothing short of electric! ⚡️
As they navigate the complex web of their fake relationship, you’re in for a treat with witty banter, unexpected twists, and a rollercoaster of emotions that’ll tug at your heartstrings. 🎢❤️
But what truly sets this book apart is the exploration of the age-old dilemma—choosing between love and ambition. It’s a theme that resonates with all of us, making A PEAK PERFORMANCE a relatable and heartwarming read. 📚❤️
Victoria Wilder’s engaging writing style draws you in from page one, and her portrayal of the battle between love and rivalry is both entertaining and memorable. 📝✨
So, if you’re a fan of contemporary romance with a sprinkle of humor and a whole lot of heart, do yourself a favor and add this gem to your reading list. Trust me; you won’t be able to put it down! 💫
As I turned the final page, I found myself cheering on the characters, hoping they’d find their happily ever after. 🥰 “A Peak Performance” is a must-read!!! It’s a perfect ending to the Riggs family series 💞
Awwww Law baby is such a sweetheart!!! He has always been the playful menace and gold retriever of the bunch but I literally never thought he’d find his person but this version of him was so sweet and squishy. I loved him! As always, his antics and man-child moments will send you in a fit of giggles but now we get those swoony moments too that make you melt for this man. Am I jealous of Tessa?? Yep sure am 😂
Tessa is a boss witch and gives me all the boss lady Queen vibes. She dealt with so much with her ax and her dad and took a true chance by starting over with nothing. I admired her character to be honest. She also gave it right back to Law too. She pushed and pushed him to be better than he was the day before but also Law got her outside of her comfort zone and helped her grow too. She fit in so well with the Riggs family and I loved how her relationship developed with Law but also loved how she also found her tribe too with the rest of them.
Gosh they had so much chemistry right away. I mean those tempting moments between them will leave ya a little hot. When they finally did get together, they were the perfect spicy pair. Neither was dominant or submissive and they traded off leading with the focus being on taking care of the one another. It was both sweet and spicy.
As much as I hate to admit it, Law might be my favorite Riggs sibling of the bunch with Everly close behind but it was so great to see all our couples happy once again and Daddy Riggs too!!! iykyk 😉 I would love for Asher to get a book too so we can see his HEA.
"Peak Performance" by Victoria Wilder is a captivating rollercoaster of emotions that takes you on a wild ride through the lives of two complex characters, Contessa Costa and Law riggs. This book is a perfect blend of beautiful romance and infuriating challenges, and it'll have your heart racing from start to finish.
The story introduces us to the charismatic youngest Riggs brother, who's known for his wit and charm. He's always been the life of the party, the one everyone wants to be around. But when Contessa Costa, the enigmatic new boss and neighbor, enters his life, things take a thrilling turn. The sparks between them fly, but it's not a typical love story. It's a battle of wills, a competition that neither can afford to lose.
The tension builds as Law finds himself in a precarious situation, publicly claiming to love Contessa for a risky marketing campaign. Their chemistry is electric, and the lines between pretense and reality blur. What ensues is a gripping narrative that explores the depths of deception and the thrill of forbidden love.
As the story unfolds, you'll find yourself rooting for these characters, despite the infuriating challenges they face. Victoria Wilder weaves a tale of love and rivalry that keeps you guessing until the very end. "Peak Performance" is a must-read for anyone who enjoys a thrilling, passionate, and beautifully written romance novel. You won't be able to put it down, and you'll be left wondering how one can outsmart an enemy when they've foolishly fallen head over heels in love with them. It's a love story for the ages, and you won't want to miss it!
PS: the chemistry between Law and Contessa is sizzling. The extended epilogue for us ARC readers has left me wanting more. (Requesting Victoria wilder to write about Asher riggs and callen)
When I think about a book family I would love to join, the number one answer is absolutely The Riggs. I have loved this family since book 1 and have been anxiously awaiting Law’s book, the youngest brother and the eternal bachelor. Let me tell you, it was worth the wait.
This book had everything; 🔥Enemies to Lovers 🔥Small Town Romance 🔥Fake Dating 🔥Forced Proximity 🔥Workplace romance 🔥He Falls First 🔥Dirty Talking MCs 🔥Bad ass FMC 🔥 After Dark 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 parties
I loved this book from start to finish and I am so obsessed with these characters it’s not even funny.
Tessa is a bad ass, take no shit, girl boss who has no problem putting Law in his place. But she’s also had to learn to stand up for herself and put her walls down after being hurt by not only her ex husband but her dad too. I think she’s so relatable in the way she tries to protect herself from getting hurt again. I loved the journey of her coming into her own and seeing herself for the bad ass she is.
Law. Oh Law baby. 🥵 His mouth is my favorite. But as much as he dishes out the dirty talk, he is equal parts swoon worthy. His character growth was also so important. He went from being entitled and spoiled to working hard at what he wants and figuring out his strengths.
How could you not appreciate this man?! "𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙯𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧, 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙢, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙨 𝙄 𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙜𝙤, 𝙄'𝙢 𝙨𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜. 𝙇𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙖𝙣 𝙞𝙙𝙞𝙤𝙩, 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙢𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄'𝙫𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙣."
I’m so sad this series is over but I’m so happy we got to experience it. And the fact that this book had not one, but TWO HEAs?! Blessed!
Thank you @theauthor.agency and @authorvictoriawilder for the ARC of this book. I will forever be a fan of this entire series.
Holy cow, what can I say about this book… well first and foremost while this a slow burn it’s more like a super hot foreplay tease. You just can’t put the book down!
The MCs are a chef’s kiss. Tessa is one bad ass boss! She is honestly one of the strongest, hottest, fiercest heroins that I have read in a while! And Law, oh Law. He had no chance. He was sucked in the first time they laid eyes on each other. His bad boy players days were dust as soon as Tessa got a hold of him!
I absolutely loved everything about this story line, the witty banter, the cameos by some of our favorites and the growth of the MCs. I loved how the MCs were pretty straightforward with each other and said everything on there mind. Also, there was no 3rd act break up and while usually I miss that, I didn’t at all in this book. My attention was all in the whole time.
Wilder always delivers with the spice to perfection. I love the way she incorporates new and fun adventures for her MCs and that everyone is so positive with exploration!
Also, sign up for Wilder’s newsletter and get that bonus epilogue… what more can I say than Asher… ❤️
I’m so sad to see this family and series end, but very excited to see what comes next!

5 STARS (changed from a 4.5 the more I thought about it. It was just a perfect ending!)
Small town, enemies-to-lovers, BAD ASS BOSS BISH, dirty talking-golden retriever boy vibes, fake relationship. Need I say more?
Man, where do I even start? I knew I’d love Law (“the perfect picture of a troublemaker and golden boy wrapped into one”), but man did Victoria Wilder hit it out of the park with Tessa. I felt so much of myself in her. As someone who’s been in a long-term toxic relationship and took a year to find myself, thinking I didn’t deserve happiness when it finally came, I felt all her feelings to my CORE. Tessa’s journey to self-discovery of who she wanted to be, what she liked, and deciding not to let the patriarch walk all over her, was so fulfilling and should be a reminder to women what we are truly capable of.
“But your choices. Leaving, starting over, it’s brave. Brass balls kind of brave.”
The push and pull between Law and Tessa; the banter and tension throughout the book was SO GOOD. And the dirty talking WHEW! Add the vulnerability we saw in these two, it got me right in the feels. I loved seeing how their relationship developed.
But let’s not forget all the supporting characters. I LOVE the entire Riggs family and the relationships the siblings and their significant others have with each other. --- One of my favorite lines from the book came from a supporting character; “You can be more than one thing. I know the world tells us to choose who we want to be, but it’s not that simple. We’re complicated and the furthest thing from boring.”
In the words of Asher Riggs “Strutt’s Peak is the kind of place you can get lost in, if that’s what you need.” Thank you, Victoria, for bringing these amazing stories about the Riggs family to us, and wrapping up their stories so beautifully. I can’t wait to follow you on the next adventure you give us!
Yet again, Victoria shows us she’s one of the best romance writers around. I defy anyone not to fall in love with Strutt’s Peak (I want to move there immediately) and the whole Riggs family. I’m so sad this series has come to an end and really hope we get to revisit this town and family in the future.
As we know, Law is hoping to take over from his father as CEO of Riggs Outdoor but his dad Asher doesn’t think he’s quite ready, and brings in an interim CEO from a big competitor. Tessa has left behind an abusive marriage and a toxic relationship with her father. She’s a total badass, I had so much respect for her and her strength. She dominates in the boardroom and Law is drawn to her like he’s never been to anyone before.
These two don’t have the most conventional of meetings, and whilst there’s a lot of tension their relationship is kind of a slow burn. But it sizzles along until they give in and their chemistry is off the charts from the very first meeting. Law is fiercely protective, loyal, kind and funny. He treats her like a Queen and I’m so glad he got his well deserved HEA.
We got to see the rest of our beloved Riggs family and a beautiful bonus epilogue too which you have to make sure you read!
Huge thank you Victoria for this arc in exchange for my honest review. I can’t wait to read what you write next, but I’d absolutely love some more of the Riggs family too please! ❤️
Tessa and Law's story was so so good! I really liked how these characters first interacted and how we instantly felt the chemistry between them and it just burned more and more the more the story developed.
I absolutely loved that as the MCs grew as people and developed their relationship, they still had the banter and push/pull like they were both fighting for who was boss. It made the story feel less predictable and kept things interesting all around.
A huge thank you to Victoria Wilder and The Author Agency for sending and advanced copy of the book to read!
This was my first book by Victotia Wilder and I can't believe I haven't checked her out sooner! I have book 1 in the series downloaded and am going to catch up with the rest of the Riggs family!
This is the final book in the series and it's such a good ending !
Tessa is Law's new CEO, but it's also the spot he wants in his family's company. They will fight for this spot and the banter between these two is so worth it.
Oh and they are now neighbors so you not only have a workplace romance but forced proximity too. The chemistry between the two is explosive and delivers amazing tension and slow burn and smut scenes.
Law wasn't my favorite character overall, but Tessa is such a queen, she balances him out and they make a wonderful team.
Now... Can I still hope for an Asher x Cal novella or extended epilogue ??
Very excited about what Victoria Wilder has in store for the future !
*SIGH* 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Law and Contessa are perfection. I have devoured this book TWICE since I received the ARC on Thursday. Law was everything I wanted him to be and Tessa was just as amazing. Their story was spicy, sweet, funny, interesting, sassy, and all around lovely. Tessa is a serious badass woman and I’m so glad she found what she deserves with Law. It made my heart so happy. 🥹♥️🔥🤓📚 I will seriously read anything Victoria writes… this woman is beyond talented! 😍
