I thought my life had hit rock bottom when I was forced to work at a strip club with a very lax "no touching" policy. Nothing could possibly be worse.
It turns out I was wrong. Getting sold to Dr. Hunter Savage, a control freak with a heart as cold as ice, has sent me down another layer of hell. He demands absolute obedience, and uses me any way he pleases. I hate every order, every touch, every kiss.
Most of all, I hate how my body reacts to him. I hate how I crave the small cracks in his armor, the hint of a smile.
I hate how I start to crave him.
And I hate that I might actually find some measure of happiness with a man who wants to shape me into his perfect woman.
Savage is a standalone, dark billionaire romance that contains dark and potentially triggering content, including consent issues, drug abuse, and self-harm. Please see inside for more detailed content warnings.
I got an ARC for this book and honestly had SOME idea of what to expect 😏😏my intro to this duo was the claiming vanessa series/trilogy 😂 that was some fvxked up shiet but I enjoyed all three books 🤷🤷😈👀
This one made me insane in the membrane because Dr. Hunter Savage is trying to clean up Stef's drug addiction cold turkey and you feel bad for her, but you're also rooting for Doc to succeed 😳😂 what a mindfcukery. 💃💃
There is drama only from her past ex boyfriend, but no other woman drama. Dr. Savage had his hands full with Stef's crying and drug addiction. She cries. A lot. Like a LOT A LOT. Some people don't lime a crying jag from their h's but I knew she was like this from the claiming vanessa series so I wasn't surprised she was weepy a f.
The triggers! Welp....you should check them out because I have flashbacks to when I read Sybil by Flora Rheta Schrieber. Anyone read that?! The girl with MP? Anyhoo.......this isn't a multiple personalities book but the mom reminds me of Dr. Savage 🙈🙈😬😬😭🤦🤦💩 Dr. Savage is a cold hearted snake (oh!) Look into his eeeeyyyeesss (ohohhhhhhhh) 💃💃😂
If you want dark, this is your book. Theres like....a skull and shiet on the cover yo. If you want a book where they hold hands and peck each other on the cheek......This aint it. You gon learn today brah 😂😂
Awe. Hunter bought a gutter trash addict crybaby whore & polished her up. The upgrade comes with Stef being a SSS > sober submissive slut only 4 him. How cute *eyes rolling* 🙄
This book had me sucked right in from the start. Please check triggers before reading it is extremely dark and has very heavy content. This is one of the few books I’ve had to take breaks with due to how heavy the content is.
The FMC is an addict who words at a “club” and ends up being sold to Dr Savage. Our Dr is a controlling a**hole for a good portion of the book. I’m still not fully convinced he earned his redemption but he did have a good bit of character growth so I forgive him.
If you’re looking for something super spicy and super dark this is a good one for sure! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Hunter (aka Dr. Savage) buys Stef from Giulio and intends to make her his perfect slave. Stef has a lot of issues to work through before she meets his standards. But he's up for the challenge and loves having a good project.
We first met Stef in Vanessa's books, where we are told she was sold to Dr. Savage. But we never learned about her fate beyond that. So this book dives into what happened to her after she was sold.
Honestly, I was expecting this book to be way darker after reading Lucia's and Vanessa's books. But this was utterly tame compared to those.
Going into it I was disappointed that it wouldn't be an RH, but I still wanted to read it. And I still expected it to be pretty dark and kinky.
It was just...kind of boring.
Hunter starts off kind of questionable, but pretty quickly he is nice when you compare him to some of the other MMC's in this author duo's books! It's just disappointing. He's also the type of MMC that is very cold and hardly shows emotions. I'm not a big fan of this type and would rather see more passion or something more from him -- even if it's anger and brutality. It was just kind of boring.
Stef was annoying to me. She is just dumb. At first she claims she'll be good and obey, but she is always doing things to get herself in trouble. And then she blubbers and cries about it. She just has no internal strength and I found her annoying.
Their relationship progressed from slave to regular old vanilla relationship pretty quickly and it wasn't very exciting.
I will probably still read the next books in the series, but I hope they are darker. Would love more RH's from this author duo! But oh well...

Different than I expected. Solid start to a new series.
This is the first book is a new, dark series that is a spinoff from the Breaking Lucia and Claiming Vanessa trilogies. If you are familiar, then jump right in because this fills us in on what happened to Stef and the mysterious doctor, Hunter Savage. it's not completely necessary to have read the others to know what's going on, but it helps. Just know Stef has not been in control of her life or anything that has happened to her for quite some time and it seemed as if Hunter was going to be the person to finally break her. The uncertainty and fear of her situation was real and it goes to some dark places. As for Hunter, he his a bit unhinged and has some serious control issues and he isn't afraid to use them. Stef is a mess, but we get so much more of her story. Sometimes I wanted to just shake her and a few times I got a little teary-eyed. There are some hot and heavy scenes, but it's not just about kinks, though there are plenty. You really get to learn the reasons why Hunter and Stef are the way they are. Most of the book is them interacting with each other in Hunter's apartment. There are some seriously emotional scenes I did not expect. I really felt for Stef, like she was a friend of mine that I wanted to see get herself together. Hunter is all kinds of OTT and the scene with his two friends... OMG!!! I am ready for both of their books, solely based on that alone. There are definite trigger warnings to be aware of, but this story has a heart once you peel back the ugly layers. I still want more from them because I need to see how they evolve. I hope Hunter and Stef pop up in the next book. I received an ARC of this book, for my honest and voluntary review.
I was very pleased with this story . At first I was worried about Hunter savage and the way he was with stef. As the story continues you can definitely see how these two were coming together in unconventional ways, but it worked out for them. Stef had an addiction problem and was basically low on the food chain and well she was saved by Savage . This book had some nice steam . I really enjoyed how everything turned out in their story. Please check the trigger warnings .
I loved this story. Well I love how all of the little issues were able to come together and they learned to trust and love each other. Both Stef and Hunter have a past, but now they are working together on their future. I really hope to read more about these two in the future.
I received this book for me to review and give my honest opinion…….
This was so good and different from what I've read from these 2 ladies. O don't want to give thing's away you just need to go in blind and ride this wild af rollercoaster they take you on. I am so glad this was Steph's story that we get to find out what had happened to her after she disappeared with Dr Savage.
This was such a fucked up book... Both the MMC and the FMC are damaged and their whole relationship was a train wreck. It was also difficult to put it down even though I didn't like either character or secondary characters. Also, totally read the content notices.
This is another one of those books that I don't know if it's fair that I rate it because my own personal bias might be a huge factor. I felt like the writing in this book was good. The storyline was interesting and compelling and I liked the idea of someone buying a sex slave...to fix them up....by force 😂 The problem really came from the characters themselves. The heroine, Stef, I imagine is a polarizing character. Either you relate to her and feel her struggle or you can't identify with her at all and she seems like a whiny, spoiled crybaby who wasn't very bright, makes her own problems and then blames everyone around her. I'm in the second camp. Maybe because I've read so many books like this where there is a Master/slave component, but considering how relatively great the H treated her in comparison to her other options, it was really hard for me to empathize or relate to her. To me, as far as sex slavery goes, he seemed perfectly reasonable and even benevolent. He did treat her more like an object than a person, which is definitely not okay and I can understand how that would be demoralizing, but he wasn't cruel to her, his punishments weren't way over the top( except one, but I'll save that for later) It was about the equivalent of a consensual M/s relationship, except for the important factor that Stef didn't have the option to consent. Even then, she later admitted that she couldn't really be trusted to make her own choices, as evidenced by her life. In any case, she seemed a lot like a child, very wishy washy and not seeming to even know what she wanted. She'd have these long depressing monologues about how she wished she was back at the strip club(where she was forced to strip, gang banged, barely fed, and kept drugged up all day) or with her ex (the dude who got her addicted in the first place, pimped her out until he eventually sold her) just because she was alone and then she'd do these stupid things and act completely confused and regretful when she got punished for them. Like the H has spent all this time and effort getting her clean, he's finally treating her better and giving her more privileges and she's like "Umm, since I was good can I just have a little bit of drugs?"🙄🤦🏼♀️ and then when he punishes her she's all 'Boohoo, I just asked a question!" It would be one thing if this only happened once, but she kept going through this cycle over and over again of "Waaa! I want to be anywhere but here!" followed immediately by "No don't get rid of me, I'll be good!" immediately followed by "Waaa! He's so mean!" It's not that I'm defending anything he did necessarily, but she just was so *dumb* it was hard to care about her. The ultimate "I'm done with this bitch" moment was when he left her alone for 20 minutes at a gala and because some people who didn't matter hurt her feelings, she went and offered to suck two dudes off in the bathroom for a hit of blow! I've not been a drug addict, so maybe that's why I couldn't empathize, but that was a skanky, trashy thing to do and it was 100% her choice! I was 💯 on Hunter's side and honestly thought he should have just sent her back then. All his punishments seemed justified to me considering what she did, UNTIL the whole thing where he brought in his friends and they all demeaned and punished her. That was over the line and uncalled for, especially since he knew she'd been in a similar circumstance and was very triggered by it. So then she tries to commit suicide, because why wouldn't she and somehow that causes the H's personality to COMPLETELY change. It didn't fit his personality or the narrative. I don't see how it suddenly made him compassionate, he didn't get to know her enough to convince me that he cared about her and it just felt so... unnatural. Like that is what the story called for, so the author just wrote it in even though she didn't show us how they got there. I'm just not convinced that her attempting to commit suicide would effect him that deeply. Anyways, he completely turns everything around when she commits suicide and somehow they both become two different people who suddenly *want* to be in a consensual relationship and I just couldn't wrap my head around it or suspended my disbelief that it would work in any capacity, even as the new people they were. They were so far apart from each other in class, interests, lifestyles, backgrounds, intelligence...just in no way compatible. I'd be more likely to believe he started a consensual relationship with his pet hamster. It wasn't a power exchange where like he dominated her, but her submission gave her power over him, he was just generally leagues above her in almost every way. I couldn't picture their relationship at all. The other thing about this was that the sex was not for even one moment sexy. I couldn't get into it because the H was clinical about it and the h seemed so completely bored and uncomfortable with it all. There was no sexual tension, IMO. We never really hear about him being attracted to HER personally or anything beyond the role she plays for him or visa versa, so once again, it was hard to imagine them together. I do think though that my own bias in how I felt about her drug addiction was more of a factor than the writing itself and I think these particular characters just weren't for me. I may check out the second book in the series and see if the characters are more to my preference.
It’s been a minute since I read a billionaire//s€x s|@ve book - but this one reminded me why I enjoy these dark romance tropes. This had all the vibes I remember from some of my favorite past reads - think Consequences by Aletha Romig, Tears of Tess by Pepper Winters - Savage brought me right back to those and reinvigorated my need for more of these.
😈S€x S|@ve ♥️Possessive H 😈Complete power exchange ♥️Somno, forced O and kinky times galore 😈Hümiliation
Stef is stuck at a less-than-legit str!p club and finds herself s0ld to the cold and calculated Dr. Savage. This story is a complete power exchange. She doesn’t want to be there, she didn’t choose him, and he didn’t choose her out of love. But man… when that Stockholm syndrome hits *chefs kiss* I felt myself falling into it right along with Stef.
I feel like the authors did a great job of understanding their characters and how much they could handle and how far they were willing to go. There were a few points where I wanted the severity of the scene to be intensified a bit more - but I think that’s a me thing and more indicative of my personal tastes and reader experience. I am sure there are places where I would have wanted more, that others would say it’s too much. But that’s the beauty of a book - it’s going to speak to the reader at their level.
Do not misunderstand me. This book is dark and not for the triggerable. There is no sharing, but there is humiliation in heaps, degradation, BD$M, on page self unaliving attempt, kidnapping, and more. This is a s€x s|@ve book - it’s dark and triggers need to be minded.
I knew pretty quickly that this was going to be a five star book, and I devoured it. I’ll be keeping an eye out for more from these authors and hope they give us a few more of these tropes in the future 😈♥️
Surprise surprise, this book is dark. Like really dark. There's even a scene in this that had me wondering if it was going to happen because of the mindset Stef was in. Then it did happen and I went "oh d@mn, it's that kind of book". The girls did not hold back on this one. So if you're even kind of on the fence about dark books, move on. She isn't for you.
But for the rest of us dark romance girlies, yo this was wild. Hunter is awful. Like really terrible to Stef but ultimately to everyone and for no real good reason either. There's no heart of gold here either, he's just mean. And it takes Stef doing something super radical for him to even consider the error of his ways. Because of that the first half is a little disheartening because again we are dealing with super dark themes in this. But if you can get through it, the HEA at the end is worth it.
Without giving anything away this book was more kink than smut. There is smut, but it's not in the same amount of abundance and it's almost always coupled with a heavy kink. It's good. Again, I enjoyed how no punches were pulled.
I really enjoyed this. That being said, I have no idea if I'm going to read the other two books because apparently chasing Drake are significantly worse than Hunter. I don't know how that's possible and I'm not sure I want to find out haha. If you're looking for a more extreme dark book but still want that HEA this is definitely it. It's a contemporary yes but it's still 100% a romantacy and that's what makes this fun. I'm probably going to Hell for calling this fun.
There are lots of trigger warnings. Many rape scenes and dubious consent scenes.
The title says "Billionaire" but the hero doesn't act like a billionaire. He lives in a condo and most of the book takes place inside his condo. They never do anything over the top like you would expect from a billionaire.
He is a Doctor. He likes tears. He buys a sex slave and she is a drug addicted prostitute. Her boyfriend sold her to a strip club for money. She doesn't want to be there so she takes drugs every day to get through her day. She doesn't want to go with him.
He basically locks her in a room and makes her go cold turkey without any drugs. He tells her he will fix her and make her perfect. He makes her eat and stop using drugs.
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
He rapes her repeatedly. He does whatever he wants to her and she can't resist him. He punishes her when she doesn't follow his rules.
Eventually he takes her to a charity gala. She had promised to behave. Instead, she finds a cocaine dealer and sucks his downstairs for drugs. The hero finds her that way and is very angry.
He takes her home and punishes her. He calls her trash. So she tries to slit her wrists after breaking the bathroom mirror. He finds her and she has to go to the hospital.
He agrees to try again with her. This time they will use safe words and he won't punish her in a way she can't handle. So now they have a consensual relationship.
When Dr. Savage buys Stef to be his personal pet, he didn't think he would be growing a soft spot for the girl. It's a tough journey of molding her into the perfect woman from him, hindered by her past drug abuse. Stef is broken when she arrives, relapsing and rebuilding herself block by block under the stern hand of her Master.
I would say this is less of a romance, but it's so real. The way the author's handled drug recovery, portraying the harsh reality of relapsing, and withdrawals, my heart cried for Stef. She's been through the wringer and the authors spare no words to make us feel her sorrow, and what's going on in her head.
I loved the soft intimate moments shared between the characters, the cockwarming while gaming, her resting her head on his thigh, his hand always buried in her hair to comfort her and him always pleasuring her while doling out appropriate punishments to keep her in line. at times I did hate Hunter for his extreme measures to drive the message home but overall, he was way better than most r&a heroes. He redeemed himself in his own manner, by being just the man Stef needed in her life.
This was by no means an easy read, even though it kept me turning the pages. Stef and Hunter's story will remain with me for a long time.
⚠️ Book contains heavy triggers, reader's discretion is advised.

Review:
First and foremost this is a hard book to read. Really difficult subject matter and emotionally draining. I have no triggers and watch horror movies for joy so it's not easy to phase me but this did the job well.
It is a very well written book with a really interesting story and well fleshed out characters. The main reason this didn't land 5 Stars for me was that I just didn't connect with those characters. I didn't particularly like them or the dynamic between them even though I thought going in that it would for sure be my kind of thing.
Anything I didn't like about this story was completely a personal preference thing and if you like the sound of the book and love dark stuff then I strongly encourage you to give it a try. This is my first time reading either of these authors but I am for sure going to be giving some of their other books a try.
Normally, I take the trigger warnings in a book with a grain of salt. Don't do that with this one! Do not pick this book up if youre offended by kink. This book is a wild ride! Buckle up!
Poor Stef.... She has lived through some things! The struggle is real in her story. She is so well written! At times, she doesn't seem to feel human, but her pain makes her exactly that. Even though I couldn't empathize with her through it all, I did sympathize.... This entire book, from page one, will have you rooting for her. She just HAS to have SOMETHING go her way. Life is cruel, but man....
By the end of the book, Dr. Savage will have you wanting to be on your knees, welcoming him when he returns home. Those who are attracted to the darkness will eat Dr. Savage up. He is the type of guy you would tell yourself to stay away from, but end up falling for when you see the softness his walls are guarding. He's THAT type of guy.... (And man if I don't have a soft spot for those....)
This story is wild and well written. It will take you through a range of emotions. It is not a story that I could finish, put down, and forget about. The Happily Ever After is well deserved for the characters as well as the readers! These two authors make a pretty seemless story.
WOW. I've been looking forward to this book ever since the events that happened in the Breeding Contempt trilogy, and Hunter Savage did NOT disappoint.
I knew he'd be harsh and brutal, and I knew he'd really push Stef, but there were definite moments that me going OMG, and others that had me sighing blissfully. Ultimately, when he bought her from you know who, he knew he'd have to clean her up and heal her from her addiction, and as a doctor, he was pretty sure of his methods. Stef, however, was never going to fit easily into his plans and rules, and I loved watching her evolve and devolve as the story progressed.
The plot, pace, drama, and character evolution for both the mmc and fmc was the stuff of dreams, and it's a book I devoured while shirking responsibilities, and won't hesitate to do so again.
There are VERY CLEAR trigger warnings on this and ALL of this amazing duo's books, so if you choose to proceed without reading/heeding them, please remember that it was YOUR choice and they're not culpable for your decisions, or any emotional fallout as a result.
These writers are amazingly talented and deserve recognition for the way they weave dark themes, and horrific events, into stories that captivate us time and time again.
So I’ve come into this series as a new reader, as I haven’t read about it the previous series although I have them on my tbr list! I feel it very necessary to say that the authors have been extremely clear in the trigger warnings about what the book will contain! The book is dark and much like the title in certain places savage. Stef is a character who is very much not in control of herself nor her life. Hunter as a character is someone who struggles with control issue, as in he needs complete and total control of Stef. The book itself is so much more than the spicy scenes as the dynamic between the two of them is palpable. The research the authors put into a main topic in the book shows and the evolution of the characters and their story is what makes it such a brilliant read. I cannot wait for book 2 and what else this pair of authors in store for us in this new series.
We first met Dr. Hunter Savage in the Breeding Contempt series and got a glimpse of him. **Shudders**
I had some expectations for Dr. Savage and I was correct. He's cold and demands total obedience from Stef, who is now in his clutches. Poor Stef, I don't know which situation has been her most challenging. She was a difficult character to read about. Her past and present co-mingle. Which is the lesser of two evils? Hunter Savage, of course. Despite his particular demands, he really stays the course for his character. No fluffy unicorns and rainbows here.
Ok, so I cried. There is one particular scene that was very emotional for me. I loved the way it was written & realistic. Stef has to be one of my favorite heroines. She doesn't give up, despite really, really wanting to.
Hunter is..... dominant in everything he does. I really enjoyed seeing him evolve for Stef and Stef only.
Bravo Raissa and Addison. I look forward to reading Vicious 💜.
Story ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 Darkness 🖤🖤🖤 Trigger warning shopping list. It's not dark-dark, but deals with very heavy issues. Please read TW/CW.
This book was a little hard for me to get into. I also stopped multiple times because I just got bored. However, once I really got into it and gave it a chance, it was hard to put down. I’m going to tell you now. READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS IF YOU HAVE TRIGGERS. Now that, that’s out of the way, Savage is unlike anything that I have read before. Savage is a great title for this book. I wouldn’t call it a love story per se, only because I don’t think either of these two characters really know what love it. But, there is lots of feelings and strong emotions. It does end on a positive note and there is not cliffhanger.
I’ve loved everything this duo has written so far, and I never expect to like the next book/series as much or more than the previous, but they always prove me wrong 😝.
Stef is definitely not a strong character. She cries and above everything else she longs for someone to love and care for her. Dr. Savage just wants someone that obeys. Although of course there are some ‘struggles’ at first, they really were perfectly made for each other. Absolutely loved their dynamic.
The triggers are definitely there for a reason, so don’t forget to check them! Lovely balance between dark and still managing to redeem Hunter.
Okay. So. I’m hooked on this world that Raissa and Addison have written into existence, and while Stef’s book wasn’t as dark as Lucia or Vanessa’s books, it held a different darkness.
Stef is a tr@uma victim that almost lets her past sweep her under, but Savage is there to put her back together. That said, Savage is not the good guy here. He’s putting her back together how he wants her to be, so be prepared.
If you like DARK romance, this was so good, but only if you are the type of person that views the trig warnings as a shopping list for books. Please check the trigs for this book because it is NOT for the faint of heart.
This book is full of triggers so check your TW, but as someone who uses them as a shopping list I was never triggered.
Dr Savage was the ultimate Dom but also he just wanted someone to take care of enter Stef and her constant crying. I mean this girl has been throughhh it she’s had it rough and he just wants to make her perfect. This book has it all spice (🌶️🌶️🌶️) and plot. This is a romance so there is a HEA. It’s also there own special kind of HEA but if their both happy it’s all that matters! Overall I enjoyed this book and so happy I got to be one of the first to read it.
Wow! I'm new to these authors and I'll be sticking around for more. This book was about Hunter and Stef. Hunter buys Stef from a friend, while she was working as a stripper, to fix her and make her his perfect submissive. Stef has to go through withdrawal of drugs and is very malnourished. Thos book contains some dark elements but the story is about growth and mistakes these two characters go through to learn to live together and eventually love each other so they are more happier than they've ever been. Great read! I can't wait for the next book. I received a review copy of this book and am leaving a voluntary honest review.
I need to think about the review. It definitely was an enthralling read and I couldn't put it down but there were a couple moments that didn't work for me/missed the mark, just trying to sort how much it bothered me. Still, regardless of that it's ~ 4🌟 the authors are super talented, it's written very well, has a lot 🔥. It is however on the darker side and deals with potentially triggering content (which I didn't mind). The emotional part was there. However, there is a bit of something missing on the development and establishment on their relationship/their feelings.. I will update this when I put my finger on what it was.
It grabbed my attention from the very beginning. Stef has been through so much already and is a mess because of it. Savage is a control freak and he realizes Stef is going to be a huge challenge. One minute you going to hate him and the next you will swoon. They grow and learn so much as the story progresses. This was so well written and took you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. 😅
This is DARK, I usually don’t read trigger warnings bc I don’t really have any but if you do please make sure to read them.
First off, please check those trigger warnings at the beginning of the book. There is nothing I dislike more than seeing someone say bad things about a book because they didn't read the triggers... If you are good with those, then sit back for a gripping story. If you read Vanessa's story, then you know who Stef is. I felt so bad for her. She went through so much. Savage seemed like a savior and tormenter all in one. I honestly wasn't sure I would see a hea, but it gets there. This is a standalone, but I can't wait to read more of this series.
