After the Flash Family freed Barry Allen from the dimension Pariah locked him in, the Scarlet Speedster was able to return home for some quality time with Iris and his other loved ones. But after the world is plunged into the Nightmare Realm, Barry’s trapped in a different cage, and he’ll have to find a way out on his own!
The Flash is living out a nightmare scenario. But is he dreaming?
Wally is lying in a hospital bed dying and there is seemingly nothing he can do to stop it. Something is wrong with the Speed Force and it caused Wally to slow down enough for Gorilla Grodd to put the Spear of Destiny right through Barry's young protege.
Because this is a Flash comic, he ends up trying to go back in time to fix things. And of course, it doesn't work the way he thinks it will.
The cool thing about this issue is that it never clearly states whether or not Barry is asleep. Is this actually happening? I don't think so. However, I liked the way it was all left dangling at the end of the issue and I'm looking forward to reading the next one because of it.
I was actually really confused. I enjoyed the story as it was, but not quite sure how it ties in other than nightmarish things happening. It seemed like Barry was experiencing things for real? As opposed to nightmares. So I'm very, very confused.
It wasn't written particularly well, but the artwork was decent enough to carry the story.
Not my fave, but still better than Lazarus Planet tbh.
It’s interesting how they don’t really make this an obvious nightmare, and just fill it with subtext to keep reminding you that it is. I loved the artwork. And even though it’s confusing AF, it definitely sets up something exciting to come.
I like how they play the dream theme in this one, with the subtitle, but all there, explanation at the beginning between reality and dream. But other than that, I find it long and not that much fun to read. Not the worst but not my favorite of the collection!
Pretty cool throwbacks to other series and moments in Flash's life. I also enjoyed some of the flashy fights but also the story feels overly confusing at times and the way Barry talks feels...off.
This is a very different approach compared to the rest of the Knight Terrors and I’m actually SO here for it. I love that it’s focusing Wally too alongside Barry. Very good.
