Gripping selection of the speeches and writings of one of America's most revered leaders. From presidential messages to thoughtful, intimate letters and provocative speeches, this stunning collection presents Lincoln's thinking on the horrors of slavery, the anguish of the Civil War and the struggles of leadership.
This is the first book I've read about Abraham lincoln, and although he got the job done in the end, it's so strange to see someone were endoctrinated to believe is the savior of the enslaved being less than ideal in the scheme of belief of civil liberties.
Sorry to say I never finished this one and probably won't. As interesting as it sounded I think it would be better off to read certain selections than the entirety of the book straight through.
