4.5 Logan Kash Ryan, you’re still my hero Stars
*Spoilers Below I don't think I can write a review on this book without them but I will try not to give too many away*
“I want to take care of you, I want to protect you, I want to love you, and I want to fight with you for the rest of my life.”
I going to start this review by saying that I was a little worried about reading this book. After reading some of the other reviews and the cliffhanger from book one I knew this book would have me all over the place. I was worried I would be mad at Rachel over bonding with Trent and I read in a few reviews that she kisses Trent. I don't do cheating in books it drives me crazy and I don't really get into love triangles, so after reading some reviews I was thinking this was going to be a bad one for me , but It wasn't.
“No. What I need is my girl back. I told you before, I’d do anything to get her back.”
“You are what makes me happy. I can’t live a life that you’re not in, Kash. I’ve already tried it once before, it didn’t work.”
I really loved this book. I am kinda shocked at how much I really liked it. This book has some darker aspects. Rachel is kidnapped and held hostage for a little over a month by a gang that Kash and Mason busted over a year ago. But it is no where close to as dark as I thought it would be. That is because Trent, the one who took her, protects her from other members of the gang. Rachel is terrified and doesn't know why she has been kidnapped. She is confused by the man that took her because he seems to be protecting her and is being nice to her. Here is where I thought I would start getting mad, but it was written so well I could totally understand Rachel's feelings. She didn't love Trent she just felt a friendship for him and appreciation for him keeping her safe. Yes there are two kisses between them but the first one he kissed her and she was just shocked but didn't kiss back. The second one she thought they were going to die and it was more of a goodbye kiss to me; although, I really wish there hadn't been any kisses it didn't bother me to bad. I actually liked Trent a lot. I hope he gets his own book. He is a really good guy that is in a situation he couldn't get out of and I really felt for him.
“I hate that after finally knowing you’re safe from those men, you’re going to be leaving me. But I’ve only ever viewed you as a friend, and protector. I’m sorry.” “I know. I knew even when I kissed you that your heart belonged to him. I’ve never loved anyone until I met you, Rachel, and I don’t think I’ll ever get over you.”
“There are still times when I stop dead in my tracks when I see you, and wonder how you’re mine. You’re beautiful, and your fire for life, and strength after everything you’ve been through, amazes me. So if anyone leaves the other speechless, it’s you.”
As much as I loved Rachel and I really do love her and as much as I liked trent, Kash was the star of the book for me. OMG do I love that man!! My heart broke for him. He was tortured over the fact that Rachel has been taken. He was losing his mind over the pain of what he thought was happening to her. Kash felt like he failed to protect her and that it was all his fault. Kash was so damn sexy in this book the way he goes all dark and rogue . Kash will do whatever it takes to bring his woman home and him going all bad boy had me hott!
“So you see”—I said darkly and leaned close—“you played this game with me, took what’s mine, and tried to ruin my life. I can’t be positive, but I’m pretty sure I just won. And now I’ve started my own game . . . now I’ve taken what’s yours. Only difference between your game and mine is, you’ll never get yours back.”
When he does get her back it is a long slow road to healing, but a sweet and loving road. I love Kash and Rachel as a couple. I am glad for the outcome that Trent gets too. The epilogue in this book and their HEA was so damn good I was squealing, swooning and doing a silly clap happy dance.
“There’s my fiery girl. You’re such a cute little monster when you wake up.” “I will cut you.” “I said cute.” “I hate you.”
This book is suspenseful, dark, and full of emotion . I will for sure read more books from Molly McAdams. I hope She writes a book for Mason and Trent! Below I leave my favorite moment from this book:

If you don't like a author or their books why read their books. I love Molly Mcadams and her writing I'm not sure why ppl leave hateful reviews if you haven't even read the book. My lord ppl authors are ppl to. Did your mommy not hug you enough growing up as a child??? If you don't like the book hey leave your opinion but y'all are bitter hateful ppl for NO REASON. Y'all are BULLYS AND it's sad to see adults act the way you do.

I’m so disappointed Deceiving Lies went this route, I want to pick my hair out and stab myslef in eye sockets. I know, I probably sound overdramatic but how could one story went from ‘I’m lovin’ it’ to ‘I consider slitting my writs open it hurts so much’ in only few chapters? I just don’t understand it! Kill me now, please!
Deceiving Lies starts a little bit earlier than epilogue from first book in the series ended. It comes back to Rachel and Kash’s ‘honeymoon phase’. The both of them are trying to live together and have a healthy, strong and filled with love relationship. And for the most part they are doing great.
Kash is still swoonworthy, admirable hero, Rachel has a great sense of humor and their love life is perfect till the moment Rachel is kidnapped by men that want to hurt Kash and Mason. The gang they put behind the bars is trying to blackmail them into freeing from prison every gang member they caught.
Careful reader of my review can sense spoiler. It’s not written, yet it can be read between the lines. Don’t read further if you don’t want to know what’ll happen. The blurb doesn't hide much, though.
And here comes Trent. He’s Rachel’s captor and… he has some 'strong' feelings toward this beautiful, defenseless girl.

I gave Molly McAdams books a second chance when I picked up Forgiving Lies and didn’t regret it. I quickly fell in love with Rachel and Kash’s story. It was perfect just the way it was. I didn’t even want a sequel. I was perfectly fine with how things ended till the epilogue who messed up the rest and opened a new door for next novel in the series. I was not happy about that, but considering I found Kash and Rachel enjoyable and sexy couple, I wanted to know how their story would end and my sweet spot for Mason made me jump on the occasion, when I saw Deceiving Lies is up for review requests . That’s why I picked it up. And I truly wanted to love this novel.
My heart breaks just thinking about how much I did not love it. Why? I guess, it’s because it has a lot of what I call ‘Molly McAdams’ syndrome’. Readers who had an occasion to read McAdams’ other stories and didn’t find them pleasant will definitely know what I am talking about.
The truth is I was on the verge of DNFing Deceiving Lies from the moment I found out in what direction it is going. I felt like someone punched me in the gut. How this perfect, admirable story from Forgiving Lies could change so much?
Rating this part of Rachel and Kash’s story is very difficult. I loved the beginning, though it was fluffy, but I didn’t mind at all, the middle and the end was very disappointing and unsatisfactory…
I didn’t want this story to reach a forbidden territory that McAdams is the queen of. And even though I could rationalize some of Rachel’s actions I just didn’t want to. I have had my even share of heroines like her and plots gone wrong and I absolutely feel no relation to her doings. That’s why my heart broke repeatedly while reading Deceiving Lies. It had absolutely nothing common with the first instalment – there was no swoon moments, there was no perfection and it only pissed me off.
Honestly, I regret reading it and I wish I could erase it along with few last pages from Forgiving Lies from my memory. I don’t understand why Molly McAdams felt the need to destroy this story. I’d be satisfied if Kash and Rachel’s story ended in first book and second one could be about Mason. I’d love that.
I'm rating Deceiving Lies 2 stars though, because I really enjoyed the beginning of the book.

I’d promised Rachel that there would be no more lies, forgiving or not. When it came to her, there hadn’t been, and there wouldn’t be when she came back. But all bets were off until I found her. I would deceive anyone, lie about everything, and do anything to get her back."

I really loved this book. I cried ugly, but that didn't stop me from reading this book or even liking it.
When Kash and Rach had their chance at normal away from Texas, life threw a different curveball at them. Rach was kidnapped. She was terrified and it had been a long time since her kidnapping. She didn't even know if Kash knew she was alive and would come to get her. In her captivity, she bonded with Trent. I was worried about that part, but the author did an amazing job handling those complex emotions.
Kash... Kash wore his heart on sleeves. I cried for him. First, because of his past, Rach was kidnapped. To find her, he became a different person. Then, after a long time, when he somehow he found his future wife... the circumstances were complicated. But, even then he never left her side. His pain and hurt were so disheartening! He did this one thing for her where I was so proud of him and I just wanted to hug him. Tight. I would like to borrow @Aksa's words, A perfect "book-husband!"
And then Trent. I liked how the blurb included him too. Initially, I really wanted to hate him. He was the one to kidnap Rach. But how he cared and protected her, I really couldn't hold anything against him. I wanted him to have a chance at life. Though he did at the end, I felt he was the true victim amidst all this drama.
I just loved it.
“Oh, so you get the easy one tonight? Why?”
“Uh, yeah . . . because I’m Rachel.”
It was a treat to watch Rach back to her crazy self. Mason and Eli again were the best. I again doubted presence of Candice in the story. And Kash and Rach, they would fight, annoy each other and love each other all the damn time. Kennedy and Kira. Loved them. Kennedy and her clothes were so much fun!! And Trent, he would be somewhere in the world living his life and sending gifts.... The epilogue couldn't have been more perfect!
“I loved my family, and I loved our life. Kash and I had gone through rough times at the beginning, but life was good and I prayed it would stay that way. There was never a dull moment—there were plenty of laughs, and plenty of happy and sad tears. He and I still fought like there was no tomorrow, and pancakes were made a few times a week . . . but we loved each other fiercely, and we helped each other through everything. Most importantly, there were never any lies.”

I'm a huge sucker for Molly McAdams books, especially Rachel and Kash. She has the perfect mix of Romance, drama, and comedy. Usually 2nd books in a series are not as good as the first and sadly that's true about Deceiving Lies. That doesn't mean it still wasn't amazing!
Kash and Rachel finally have a chance at a normal life after everything that happened with Blake in Texas. Rachel meets Kash's parents and family (in the most hilarious way) and they even start planning a wedding! You would think that after everything that Rachel had been through, she would catch a break
Instead she gets kidnapped by a gang that Kash had put in jail and if the police force didn't free their men they would kill Rachel. After 2 days (and after Kash goes bezerk) the gang starts sending evidence that Rachel had been Tortured. Even though these scenes were pretty intense and suspenseful, they quickly lost their intensity when we find out that Rachel has a protector thats not letting anything bad happen to her.
I'm guessing that Trent was supposed to be a hauntingly sexy character? But in reality he was just strange, not to mention the situation can't be that scary if you're asking your kidnapper what color to paint your nails

But of course Molly McAdams isn't going to let us be bored for too long! As soon as Kash finds Rachel there's still a lot of drama and a lot of crying to help them get back to normal and some very sweet scenes. Even though the ending was completely predictable it still made me go “awe” and filled me with happiness and butterflies. Overall Molly McAdams has written another steamy heat that kept me reading the whole time, and made me fall in love with Kash and Rachel all over again.

Wow, just wow. This book took me by surprise in every aspect. I knew with the ending of the first, it was going to be a crazy book. But dang, was I wrong! So much drama and craziness! I absolutely love Molly's writing and cannot wait to dive into more of her books. I'm seriously kicking myself, as I always do for having waited so long to start her books. I am finally starting to understand the love for her books! Kash has completely stolen a chunk of my heart, especially towards the end. I was worried with the course it was going that I wouldn't like the last half. But, I ended up loving every minute of this duet. I do hope and pray we get something on Trent. I am curious to see more of his character (I'm not even sure if he has a book out yet or not??) Molly, if not can I put in a personal request? ;)
Loved this book. Got teary eyed quite a bit. I'm very excited to read her other books- I know some are tear jerkers and not like this book at all.

Okay so we were left with the big cliff hanger at the end of Forgiving Lies. Before the book picked up where it left off it went back a little bit to give you insight how it all went down once Rachel moved to Tampa.
I'm so glad it did because there was some comical moments when Rachel met Kash's parents and moving in with him and his proposal!
So the sweetness is shortly lived because we are brought up to speed where Rachel is taken.
We meet her captor Trent (who she calls Taylor bc he looks like Taylor Lautner to her) LOL
He's not your usual captor. He makes sure Rachel is well taken care of and safe.
He never let's her out of his sight.
If he does leave for he always tells her "don't go to sleep".
Rachel is so confused about what's going on and wants to know why her?
She tries to ask Trent but he only gives her vague answers.
"I can't tell you. Just know that I didn't want to be part of this and I'm sorry."
I was starting to get nervousness because I had an idea of where this might be going.
Trent would buy Rachel nail polish, journals and stuff. Rachel started to trust Trent and starts feeling confused about her feelings for him. I was thinking OMG NO WAY!! You have Kash!!
But Rachel wasn't in love with Trent she just was so thankful for the way he protected her.
Trent does open up to Rachel and she feels sorry for him and the life he has lived.
She wants to protect him too. I do have to say I read somewhere that this book was more about Rachel and Kash being apart and not together and I was a little bummed about it, but I completely get it now.
You had to fully understand how Rachel was feeling the way she was and more about Trent because if someone captured you how in the world can you feel something for them?!:)
Once Rachel is rescued by Kash and Mason I was so happy and ready for their HEA!
It wasn't easy for them at first. Kash had a hell of time trying to process what Rachel was feeling for her captor. He actually broke my heart. I felt so sorry for him because he was literally losing it when he was without Rachel. I cant imagine the anger, betrayal and pain he was feeling.
I was so pissed at Rachel and wanted to slap the crap out of her!

So yeah that happily ever after was just going to have to wait! I admit I was getting nervous for them and scared things would never be the same for them. But Kash wasn't about to lose her.
He knew how it was without her and he never wanted to feel that ever again.
So he was patient and he fought with her and helped to heal her.
I'm here. Always. and I'm never giving up on us. I love you.
"So fall when you're ready, babe..."
Rachel slowly started adjusting with everything that had happened to her. To be taken not once, but twice can do a number on someone. She opened up to Kash and told him everything from the day she was captured to the day he rescued her. Kash had a better understanding how she viewed Trent.
He didn't like it, but he understood.
Once they worked through all their stuff I fell in love with the rest of the book!
Rachel and Kash were back! Their story got even more beautiful and amazing!!
I was smiling and my heart was happy till the end!
"It's you and me, Rach. Always."
"Always," I agreed.
I loved this series!! I absolutely loved the suspense in this series and I found another favorite book couple! Molly has a writing style that I love and I'm so drawn to. I highly recommend this series!!

After Forgiving Lies dumbfounded me with that cliffhanger, I couldn't pick up this sequel fast enough.
Coming straight from the goosebump-inducing and swooningly-hot first book, I was not prepared for the darkness in this sequel, nor how much of the story it took up. It was gritty, brutal and dark for a long time to the point where I was beginning to fear this story wasn't for me:
Well, yes, quite. To be kidnapped once is bad luck. When it happens to the same person again you have to wonder just how many kidnapping experiences one person can plausibly suffer in one lifetime. That was a bit of an issue for me, but as in the first book, the quality of the writing saved this and made it a gut wrenching reading experience, even though it was far-fetched. It reminded me of Captive in the Dark, it had that same dark vibe to it, so if you enjoyed Captive, you'll love this.
Rachel is held by a Taylor Lautner lookalike (could have been worse I suppose) called Trent who we see is a good guy impossibly caught up in a bad situation. He stays with Rachel, protecting her from harm and he's sweet enough to provide her with a few home comforts. Gah, that was so challenging to read – I found I loved the bad guy, but then there's poor Kash too, desperately searching for her. How's that ever going to end well?
Is is wrong to swoon at the bad guy? Sorry, I'm wrong, so shoot me….
This doesn't quite hit love triangle territory, but it's almost there. I have to say though, the author does a great job of working it all out sensitively and slowly. And as an added bonus, once Rachel and Kash are finally re-united, we get to experience their slow and steady love story all over again:

Happily, the epilogue in this is far more satisfying, so no need to lock down your kindle. Even though a large chunk of this story made for an uncomfortable read at times, the rest of the book balanced the darkness nicely and generated enough happy tears and goose bumps to keep me satisfied. Read this, you won't be disappointed.

When I started this, I expected to hop into where it ended in Forgiving Lies. Glad that it took me back to the events prior to the cliffhanger in the first book. I really thought it was the obsessed guy, Blake (how he managed to keep himself alive? Not sure. But he was my number one suspect and I didn’t bother to hypothesize on the how’s) but it turned he wasn’t and it was part of Kash's job.
Rachel was kidnapped and Kash was doing all he can to save his fiancée. And while Rachel was abducted, she was still lucky that one of them was actually looking out for her. And you can guessed from miles away that the guy had feelings for her. But don’t worry dudettes, Rachel is still has hots for her man, Kash. But being isolated in an unknown place, taken against her will and the only safety net she has was the guy who by the way, was the reason she was in there in the first place; something may have sparked between them.
You know Molly McAdams love triangle is infuriating as it is interesting. Despite the guy obviously in love with her it didn’t play that angle that much. Whatever Rachel or Trent did, it was probably the adrenaline (or something similar) especially they were on the run, with evil guys chasing them down. But I do get Kash as well, seeing he was hell-bent on finding her, risking his job and when he finally saw her in a very uncompromising moment, of course the green eyed monster will emerge.
This is probably the series that I liked from the author. I didn’t hide my frustration over her other titles but this one, hells yeah, I did enjoy it. I also liked Trent, there was a nagging idea trying to escape from my head when I was reading it but I tried to suppress it because I don’t story to be more complicated. I’m relieved that the Trent angle was handled properly; but on the other hand curiosity didn’t stop bothering me the whole time. In the end relief outdone the curiosity. So in short, I did like how things went.
Is it me or Trent could be a good material for another novel. You know, I really like those stories about character redemption (with a hint of romance) and I felt his character has that and lot to develop. But maybe that’s just me. I don’t know in some weird way that Trent guy, managed to leave an impression on me while Kash hardly did it for me. Anyway, I’m wrapping this up with ‘I liked it;’ I liked the HEA bits at the end. And well it is indeed a nice story, all things considered; with a bit action, some humor and lotsa romance.

4 1/2 stars...Ahhh, I loved this book. I kept seeing all of the different ways this story could go, and I was afraid of most of them, but what actually happened I was really happy with.
At first I was a little taken aback with the way this book started. I mean, the cliffhanger we were left with from the first installment was CRAZY intense! So when this one started out giving us some more back story before she is taken, I was surprised. I liked what it gave us though and actually was a catalyst for what happens later in the book.
Now on to what happens once Rachel is taken. Yes, they introduce Trent, and I have to admit I was VERY afraid that they were going to make him into a love triangle, romantic interest for her. I was SO nervous about what was going to happen because of how much I love Kash. I just did NOT want it to go there. For me, what happens and the relationship that is developed between Rachel and Trent I actually loved. I don't feel like I'm giving anything away by saying that she grew to trust and see him as her guardian and friend and loved him for that. Especially with the level of creepers they were surrounded by in the house, it was nice to have someone who truly cared about her and tried to make her life more bearable while she was with him. To put your mind at ease, it doesn't really go further. Maybe there are a few fleeting thoughts here and there, and yes, his feelings for her are more, but in the end she is faithful to Kash.
I will admit, I am not the hugest fan of what Kash was VERY close to becoming with Rachel's loss. I was a little disappointed not really in his actions, but more of what he was willing to do to get her back. I loved that he wanted to get her back at any cost, but the place he was going was very dark and I was afraid he wasn't going to be able to come out of it. Again though, it was all right in the end.
I really loved the rescue and the strain the kidnapping had on their relationship. Everything wasn't put right back together again and there was trauma, misunderstanding, and a LOT of experiences that had to be worked through before everything was working between Kash and Rachel again. I liked that a lot about this story. It made it more realistic. Over all, it was a great read, and for me, a satisfying sequel to the first book. I was very happy with the way everything turned out in the end. I would totally recommend this book series.

Quick & Dirty: Heart pounding thriller that leaves you breathless and full of emotion. I can’t stress enough how much I love Molly McAdams and this story is her at the top of her game!!!!
Opening Sentence: I nervously flipped my long hair over my shoulders and smoothed my hands down my shirt a few times as I took deep breaths in and out.
The Review:
Rachel survived a serial killer and she has finally found her way back to Kash, the love of her life. They are getting married in just a few short weeks and she couldn’t be happier. You would think that they have been through enough heartache a terror to last them a lifetime, but the worst is still to come.
Kash can’t believe that he has Rachel back in his life. He thought that he had destroyed any chance he had with her when he wasn’t a hundred percent honest with her about who he was and what he did for a living. Working as an undercover cop is very dangerous and Kash has collected a lot of enemies, but he never thought that the girl he loved would pay the price.
One dreadful night men come and take Rachel away. Kash will do anything to find her and he won’t stop until she is safe in his arms once again. Rachel is terrified, but her captor has somehow become her protector. She feels a bond with him that confuses her and she’s not sure who is the enemy and who to her ally!
Rachel is one of those girls you can’t help but love. She has a feisty attitude that goes on for miles. She can take all of Kash’s crap, but she also knows how to dish it out as well. Her journey has been very emotional. She lost both of her parents when she was in high school in a terrible accident. Then there was the whole serial killer business (that I’m not going to go into detail about because I don’t want to spoil the first book!). Even with all these obstacles, she hasn’t let them break her. Yes, she has a hard time and is still dealing with nightmares but she is still so strong. It was impossible not to respect Rachel and really sympathize with her. You would think that after everything she has been through she would get a break, but that’s not the case. She has one more obstacle she has to overcome and while it was heartbreaking to read about it, I loved the person she became because of it. Rachel is an amazing heroine that I loved and I am so glad I got to read her story.
Kash is just as sexy as ever. He is a man that knows how to get what he wants and if you are lucky enough to be a part of his life you should consider yourself lucky. His line of work hasn’t allowed him to let many people close to him because it is demanding and dangerous. When Rachel is taken I was introduced to a new side of Kash that I never saw before. You get to see what lengths he will go through to get her back and not everything he does is pretty. His devotion to Rachel never wavers and as a reader I fell even more in love with him.
Trent was the man charged with taking Rachel and holy cow, I think he was my favorite part of the entire story. He has been part of a gang for most of his life, but it was never what he wanted. Even though he has done terrible things to survive, deep down he is a good person. He didn’t have a choice when it came to taking Rachel, but he has done everything in his power to make sure that no physical harm comes to her while she is his captive. He is a very layered person and I loved everything about him.
Deceiving Lies was full of action, suspense, sexy times, and emotion. From the first page you are sucked in and it is one of those books that are just impossible to put down. I loved that the story was told from multiple perspectives, it helped me to understand and connect with all of the characters better. There’s not as much humor in this one as there was in the first book but there were still a few moments that had me cracking up. I love McAdams’ writing. Her stories are always entertaining and so much fun to read. I believe that this is the end of Rachel and Kash’s story, but there are companion novels for some of my favorite secondary characters in the works which makes me very happy. I will gladly read anything McAdams writes and I know that I will love it. I would highly recommend this series to anyone that loves a good thriller with lots of sexy times and humor!!!

See, the shit thing about this is that book one leaves us with SUCH a cliffhanger- Rachel gets kidnapped by gang members her fiance busted as an undercover cop, and you're like- what in the mother hell? What is even happening in my life, I need my blood pressure medication immediately, and maybe an ice pack to calm my head, and it's just... it's too much.
Then this book comes out and obviously, I'm like ripping through it. Only to be... disappointed. Let down. Morose. I feel sad, people. I'm sad.
Because the whole beginning of the book is rehashing the end of the first book. Which, fine. The author is doing this for the folks that didn't read the first book and trying to make this a stand alone, and it's playing out just like Days of Our Lives, where you can not watch the show for five years but can get totally caught up in the first half of the show and not be confused at all. Got it. But then, she gets kidnapped. It doesn't feel as exciting as it should. And then, of course her kidnapper loves her and thinks that SOMEHOW she's going to dump her fiance for his gang busted ass and no. The whole thing, no.
THEN.
She gets rescued and she's all, sad, and basically treats her fiance like total shit. And here is my issue with New Adult books. I'm a fan but the one thing that is just standing out as a trend is your characters? They talk terribly to each other. Although it's done in jest, and I get it, I sometimes call my husband an asshole when he won't go get me ice cream at midnight because I'm too lazy to go to the kitchen to get it and he's clearly tired because he works at 4am. I get it. I've been there. But to me, if I read a romance- I want it to not mimic my life. I want it to be a better version of my life so I can live vicariously through the character and then be a little bitter that my husband is not this character. Another trend I'm seeing is that the couples are never totally sure that relationship is what it should be. You always have one person far more committed and 100% than the other and it feels like that character is just dragging the other to the altra. Because if you're sure you're marrying the right person, you just don't have the doubts and sad that Rachel does. You won't get any of that with a Molly McAdams book. And... I'm left feeling a little bit cheated.
I feel like in this book the author built up so much and it just all kind of came down like a bounce house at a party. And then the plot twist at the end with Trent coming to see her? What the fuck is that? No. That feels all sorts of wrong and honestly, makes me not like Rachel. I don't like her, Kash can do so much better and god let this couple be done. Unless it involves Kash kicking whiny and bratty Rachel to the curb.
Honestly? Kind of a let down. It's not nearly as good as the first one and I just... I just wanted more.

Because if you're sure you're marrying the right person, you just don't have the doubts and sad that Rachel does. You won't get any of that with a Molly McAdams book. And... I'm left feeling a little bit cheated.
I feel like in this book the author built up so much and it just all kind of came down like a bounce house at a party. And then the plot twist at the end with Trent coming to see her? What the fuck is that? No. That feels all sorts of wrong and honestly, makes me not like Rachel. I don't like her, Kash can do so much better and god let this couple be done. Unless it involves Kash kicking whiny and bratty Rachel to the curb.
Honestly? Kind of a let down. It's not nearly as good as the first one and I just... I just wanted more.

Oh sweet baby Jesus my heart! I'm still feeling my jumbled mix of anguish, heartache, and pure happiness. My emotions were all over the place with this one, I love that I can always count on Molly to toss me through the emotional wringer. She can shatter my heart like a sledge hammer then gently pick up each shard and delicately put it back together.
Ok. So at the end of Forgiving Lies we find out what will happen here, however, we don't pick up right away where the Forgiving Lies epilogue leaves off. It does come and let me tell you, my heart was in my throat waiting for that moment! Even knowing it was coming I still gasped in shock when it finally occurred. I may or may not have pulled my covers up a little higher. This is where I hopped on that emotional roller coaster and buckled up for safety.
Forget seeing the pain and anguish Kash was going through, I FELT that pain and anguish. He never stopped searching for Rachel, his love and devotion drove him to making sure she was brought back safe and sound to him. Some of his internal thoughts drove me to tears. I mean my heart was in pieces for him.
Rachel had me admiring her bravery. She knew deep in her heart that Kash wouldn't let her down. So many things could have broken her but she didn't let them. Her love for Kash kept her strong. You're able to feel that deep down in their soul love they have for each other. As for Trent, you're going to have to meet him yourself.
Molly gives us the perfect blend of sweet love story coupled with heart pounding suspense; she had me turning those pages like a mad woman into the early hours of the morning. She had me liking someone I so badly wanted to hate and most of all, she had me falling in love with Kash and Rachel all over again *sigh*
Deceiving Lies made me laugh, cry and made me a satisfied reader. This was a wonderful conclusion to Kash and his Sour Patch's story <3

loved this book. Molly never disappoints. I loved Deceiving Lies more than Forgiving Lies. It was more suspenseful kept me wanting to read it and never wanting to put it down.
I know I should have probably disliked him but I loved Trent aka Taylor. He wanted to save her and hated his life in the gang Rachel's lucky he was there and was looking out for her. The shower scene with him though..funny. Not going to lie but I thought Molly would send us on another love triangle book when I was reading about Trent. and I'm glad he got away from the gang life in the end and was still sending Rachel nail polish and a journal.
I still love Kash his character is perfect. I'm glad He never gave up looking for her but really if it happened to you you probably wouldn't give up either.
Naked baby! I laughed so much at those parts I'm sure most of us mom's can relate to that. and big ol daddy kash chasing after her pretty funny. I'm glad it was a happy ending and that they all became one big Ryan family.

Man mag darüber streiten, ob die Geschichte auf diese noch erzählt werden musste, oder ob ein Standalone ausreichend gewesen wäre. Allerdings ist Teil 2 der Forgiving Lies Reihe genauso ein Pageturner wie der erste Teil.
Ich mag, dass diese Buchreihe keine einfache Liebesgeschichte ist, sondern auch die Undercover-Arbeit von Kash eine große Rolle spielt. Die Bücher sind dadurch nochmal deutlich spannender und haben einen Schwerpunkt, der mir einfach gut gefällt.
Ich mochte Rachel und Kash auch in diesem Band sehr gerne und ich habe gerne gelesen wie sich ihre Liebe weiterentwickelt hat und wie die beiden für einander da waren.
Das Ende war vielleicht ein wenig kitschig, aber als hoffnungslose Romantikerin hat es mich voll erwischt und ich hatte unzählige Herzchen in den Augen.

Der zweite Teil beginnt ein wenig holprig und ich hatte schon fast "Angst", dass ich jetzt 400 Seiten darüber lesen muss/darf, wie glücklich Rachel und Kash doch sind. Zum Glück kam es ganz anders.
Mir hat gefallen, dass die Geschichte kaum vorhersehbar war. Ich fand es immer spannend und war total gefesselt.
Ich wünschte, es würden noch mindestens drei weitere Teile erscheinen, die die Geschichten von anderen Protagonisten aus dieser Reihe (z.B. Candice oder Mason) erzählen.

3,5 Sterne Es war gut, hat mir aber nicht ganz so gut gefallen wie Band 1 was bei mir an der Thematik gelegen hat. Hach Kash muss man hier auch einfach wieder Lieben! <3 Ich bin ja schon auf das Buch gespannt was im Sommer raus kommt, wo es um die Tochter von beiden geht! :)

Die Ausarbeitung des Covers gefällt mir sehr gut, denn es zeigt in meinen Augen nicht nur ein Pärchen, vielmehr wirkt dieser Bildausschnitt für mich, wie ein Rückblick auf eine vergangene Zeit, die man zurück sehnt. Ebenso wirkt die Mimik der Frau und des Mannes sehnsuchtsvoll. In ihnen liegt der Ausdruck von Hoffnung, die bezogen auf die Geschichte in einem wiedersehen liegt. Den Inhalt der Geschichte auf den Punkt gebracht, haben wir hier wieder einen besonderen Eyecatcher.
Meinung:
Nachdem furchtbar bösen Cliffhanger am Ende des ersten Bandes konnte ich meine Neugier auf die Fortsetzung nicht mehr zügeln. Erstaunt war ich, dass wir nicht an der Stelle beginnen, wo der Vorgänger geendet hat. Erst einmal kommen wir in den Genuss der Zweisamkeit von Kash und Rachel, was das darauf folgende Geschehen nur noch grausamer und nervenaufreibender erscheinen lässt. Wir werden mit einer Emotionsvielfalt konfrontiert, die einen mitreißt und mitleiden lässt. Kash ist ein Mann, den nichts aus der Bahn zu werfen scheint, es sei denn, es geht um Rachel. Er ist wütend auf diejenigen, die Rachel einer Gefahr aussetzen, die er bisher noch nicht einschätzen kann, er ist wütend, weil er den Übergriff nicht verhindern konnte, hilflos und verzweifelt, weil ihm das wichtigste in seinem Leben genommen wurde und er nicht weiß, wie es ihr geht. Doch auch Rachels Seite hat mich beeindruckt, denn neben der Angst die sie verspürt, verschärfen sich auch gleichzeitig ihre Sinneswahrnehmungen. Sie ist nicht vor Angst gelähmt sondern interagiert sogar in gewisser Weise.
Ich wünschte, ich könnte dich halten. Ich wünschte, ich könnte dir sagen, wie sehr ich dich liebe. Ich wünschte, ich könnte dein Lachen hören. Ich wünschte nur, ich wüsste, dass ich die wiedersehen kann. [...] Wo du auch bist, Rachel, wer immer dich hat und was immer dir angetan wird, du musst wissen, dass nicht mal Gott mich davon abhalten kann, dich zu finden und zu mir zurückzuholen.
Rachel ist Kashs Schwachstelle und diese wird gezielt ausgenutzt, denn die Täter wollen sie als Tauschobjekt und verleihen ihren Forderungen ordentlich Nachdruck, der keinerlei Zweifel daran lassen, wie weit sie bereit sind zu gehen, um zu bekommen was sie wollen. Doch dabei haben sie auch die Macht der Liebe unterschätzt, denn wenn Kash zu eins nicht bereit ist, dann kampflos aufzugeben. Er überschreitet Grenzen, die er nicht gehen dürfte und erhält durch Mason nicht nur tatkräftige Unterstützung, er ist es auch, der ihn erdet, zu Besinnung ruft und ihn einen kühlen Kopf bewahren lässt, denn so verständlich seine innere Zerrissenheit auch ist, so darf er es sich nicht erlauben, einen Fehler zu begehen oder einer Kurzschlussreaktion nachzugeben.
Die Entführer selber sind nochmal ein Schauspiel für sich, denn sie lassen sich nicht einfach in eine Schublade stecken. Ihre Handlungen werden uns durch ihre Sichtweisen und Erlebnisse verdeutlicht, ihnen wird Raum zur Entwicklung gegeben und wir lernen sie auf eine Art und Weise kennen, die den Nervenkitzel erhöht. Das Wort Loyalität bekommt insbesondere mit Taylor nochmals eine neue Bedeutung, denn sie zeigt, dass etwas eigentlich Positives zu einem Zwang erwachsen kann.

Rachel, Kash und die Entführer – an drei Stellen wird beobachtet und analysiert und an eben diesen drei Stellen erhalten wir die unterschiedlichsten Inneneinsichten über die Entführung, Hintergründe und Ziele der verschiedenen Parteien. Auch wenn Taylor auf der bösen Seite agiert, so ist er auch gleichzeitig das Bindeglied, das versucht den Schaden einzudämmen und die Situation untereinander nicht eskalieren zu lassen. Auch wenn er sich nicht immer komplett unter Kontrolle halten kann, ist ersichtlich, dass er nicht von Grund auf Böse ist, sondern viel mehr in diese Situation hinein gezwungen wurde.
In einem Moment sorglos und glücklich, ändert sich für Rachel und Kash im nächsten Moment alles. Wird Kash seine Frau retten können und mit ihr eine gemeinsame Zukunft haben?

A wonderful sequel for an amazing book.
I loved the progress that the characters have been through, loved how Rachel's feelings were expressed and how that even though she was confused about her feelings for Trent she never questioned her love for Kash.
Loved the parts that were from Trent's Point of view and would adore to read his story cause I really felt for him and understood his struggles and the fact that he never had a chance in deciding what he truly wanted to do with his life.
All in all a great finishing for Kash and Rachel's story.

I loved the progress that the characters have been through, loved how Rachel's feelings were expressed and how that even though she was confused about her feelings for Trent she never questioned her love for Kash.

I loved the pace and storyline of this book. I loved the epilogue so so much! But I had a hard time with Rachel and her feelings and decisions she made and continued to contemplate. Without spoilers, that’s about all I can say. It was a good drama factor, but it felt a little desperate in its timing. Anyway, overall I love his duet and I can’t wait to read more about these characters in future books!

As much as I love Rachel and Kash's relationship I got to talk about Mason! Mason is such a fun and loving guy. I would love to be friends with him. Plus there also Trent. There just something about a bad guy that you love seem to love. I get why Rachel was so torn. In the end it all worked all for them!

So so so underwhelming I was hoping for something so much better I mean this wasn’t it. I was bored and thank god this is so short, but I hated the plot and the ending when the guy didn’t stay, it was frustrating.

This is a good romance. I liked Rachel and Kash, and what they go through to get to their happy ending.
