Cindy and Mattheus, still reeling from Key West, unsure where their relationship stands, prepare to take some time away from each other—when a shocking call arrives. A beautiful bride is missing, the night before her destination wedding in the magnificent Cayman Islands. The groom, the last one to see her alive during their scuba diving outing, is the prime suspect.
But the groom’s family insists he is innocent, and they hire Cindy and Mattheus to find out the truth. Cindy understands the pain of an ocean accident all too well, and the case strikes uncomfortably close to home, evoking memories of Clint at every turn.
Police and Coast Guard search the sea and land, but the bride, Allie is nowhere to be found. Family, wedding party and guests have all been detained at their luxury hotel to be questioned. Was it an accident? Did the bride run away? Or has someone killed her? Who could have wanted her dead?
As Cindy and Mattheus investigate and interview those at the celebration, we journey into the incredible wealth and opulence of the Islands and the lifestyle of those who have come down to celebrate the wedding and vacation there. As their relationships are exposed, we see the effects of wealth, greed, and intense jealousy, and how it runs their lives. We also meet Mac, a charismatic, suave partner in the firm who develops an attachment to Cindy, and Vivien, a gorgeous guest, who no man can resist. As Vivien goes after Mattheus, and Mac pursues Cindy, we watch Cindy and Mattheus’s relationship struggle and become infected by jealousy and suspicion as well.
In a shocking turn of events, Cindy finds out more about Allie than anyone knew. And as the investigation takes a deadly turn, Cindy’s life is in danger, not once but twice. Once again, we see the forces of darkness try to undermine the search for truth. Will Cindy and Mattheus untangle the web of secrets among the rich and famous before it is too late?

Another easy read in the Caribbean Murder series. In this book our intrepid sleuths Cindy and Mattheus travel to Grand Cayman, where a bride has gone missing while scuba diving on the eve of her wedding. The local police are looking at the groom to be as the most likely suspect, but Cindy and Mattheus aren't convinced.
I'm enjoying these light reading mysteries over the holidays, they're just what I need, nothing too taxing. I am getting tired of Cindy and Mattheus believing the worst about each other, however, and trusting what complete strangers say about the other, rather than what's staring them in the face. Oh, and the author still needs a good proof reader. Other than that they're enjoyable enough.
I didn't find this book appealing. There are a lot of grammar errors and spelling errors in the book to the point it is difficult to read. The errors block the flow of the novel. The characters are poorly developed. Their relationships shift quickly from friendly and loving to distrustful and back again. Not sure how Cindy and Mattheus could possibly have ended up together by the end of the book. I am not interested in reading any more books in the series.
the plot was a little confusing but that may have been what pulled me along in this book. I wish I had the finances to buy the entire series. Cindy is developing int an interesting heroine.
I find it frustrating that Cindy and Matheus are always looking for reasons to distrust each other and put their relationship and business partnership in jeopardy. They need their heads knocking together.
Another good story with both Cindy and Matheus solving a crime that the police never thought happened.
Putting themselves in danger, especially Cindy, through foolhardiness, rather than reasoned detective work all because they are so distrustful of each other and get sulky and angry about everything.
They both flirt with other people because they think each other is flirting with someone other than each other.
Typical of Cindy’s sister Ann and her husband Frank to witness bad things about Cindy and Matheus that supports their bad thoughts about Matheus.
As ever, secrets and lies run throughout the story and the detectives find it tough to cut through the chaff.
One day they may live happily ever after but I will have to continue reading the series to find out. It’s a good series of books and I am not sorry to have started reading them.
It was ok. I'm not sure what you call the person or persons who proofread the book but I'm open for the job because I think you need one. Other than that it was an ok story. I looked back and see I did read the 1st one in the series but don't remember it and even tho I have the next one in my library I'm in no hurry to read it.
Just an ok read. I read the first in the series and really liked it then skipped to this on (free download). There were a lot of grammar errors and when reading dialog scenes they read a lot like watching bad actors. Not sure what changed in writing from the authors first book to this one.
I love this series of short romance mysteries (most are around 200-250 pages. This one has Mattheus and Cindy back together but relearning their relationship. Of course, there is jealousy pertaining to them and those that they are investigating.
Although a good story line I hate to take ratings away for bad editing but misprints, missing words and mistakes in dialogue are very annoying. I guess you get what you pay for..... in this case I have gotten almost an entire e-series for free.
You people should just read this book yourselves and write your own review on this novel yourself and I really enjoyed reading this book very much so. Shelley MA
This book was difficult to read, due to all the mistakes. This really needs a good proof reader to work on it. One character's name was even used in the wrong place.
I thought it was very weak. The story was easily solvable, the characters were annoyingly focused on petty drama, and it had such horrible mistakes. Who edited this?!
Cindy and Mattheus are investigating another murder and finding their relationship is becoming more and more complicated. Matteus seems to still be stuck in the past and Cindy is still grieving her dead husband, but there is definite chemisty. Together they have started a PI business and are involved in solving crimes throughout the Caribbean. They can't seem to get on the same page at the same time. At times it is hard to like Matteus and at times it is hard to like Cindy.
Death by Jealousy is a Caribbean murder mystery by Jaden Skye. It is one of a series. It is a good mystery and a great book. Cindy was on her way back to the Cayman Islands with her partner Matheus. The last time she had been here was on her honeymoon when her husband was killed and she had found the killer. Could she concentrate on the case at hand? She had to put her feelings on hold while she helped find a murderer. A friend Dana McPherson had called and asked her to come to the Cayman’s to take on the case of her son, Peter. The family and friends were here to celebrate the marriage of Peter and Allie. They were very much in love. The night before the ceremony, they went night diving. They had often done this. They dove in and only Peter returned. They searched and could not find Allie’s body. Had she just left or was she dead? It is up to Cindy and Matheus to work find out.
Bleh. So glad I didn't actually pay any money for these. Same basic plot for every book, plots which could be deep and interesting. But, no. They are so incredibly shallow and by the 3rd chapter you've already figured out, not only who did it, but the story line of the whole book (probably because the last book was basically the same). Cindy is a naive idiot and Matteus is a narssassitic jerk and a domestic assault charge waiting to happen.
The only reason this series got 2 stars was because there was no waiting list to borrow them the library.
The story was ok...not great. On again off again between Cindy and Mattheus is getting old. These books are all the same...nothing creative. It's like a recipe...and not a good one. The best thing about these books is the covers. Great covers, but you can't judge a book by the cover. That is so true with this series. The stories are mediocre but what really kills them is the lack of editing. You will have a hard time ever finding a book with worse editing. I seriously don't know how these were ever put out for public consumption.
Really enjoyed this one in the series, it was difficult to figure out who was guilty until the very end. Enjoy trying to figure it all out as I read. Again, though Ms. Skye needs to get a better proof-reader as there are many errors in her books. As far as the plot and story line, very good read.
hmm this is the second book i read from this series. I read the first one and jumped too this one. The first one was better, on this one the main character Cindy doesn't fall believable to me, and too weak to be a private detective. she believes anything she is told. Conversations were weird too. But the main idea of the story was OK
Great follow-up book in the series. This book shows us another dimension to the Mattheus/Cindy relationship and the often-overlooked downside to island living. Well-written and fast-paced. I highly recommend!!!
I agree with other reviewers who said the writing style is simplistic. I gave it 2 stars because the story was interesting, but it was a bit painful to read at times due to the writing. Not bad for a free book.
There were so many typos that many sentences had to be re-read to understand the meaning. At on point (about 70 percent into the book) two of the characters' names were swapped. Needed better screening.
Cindy and Mattheus must surely have ulcers caused by their insecurities over their relationship. This is book six and they still haven't figured it out. The descriptions are wonderful, and plot is interesting.
I loved this book. I suspected one of the perpetrators of the killing right off, but not the other ones. This mystery also led me to believe the other perpetrators were other people when they weren't. That's the mark of a good mystery. Pick it up or put it on your reader and read it.
