I guess I’m just disappointed by the missed potential. Maybe if it was a full fledged book and not a novela I’d like it more. These two characters have amazing powers. Like the best powers. Aleaha (yup that’s her name, I never figured out how to pronounce it) can shape shift into any person/alien she touches and use their power against them. She touches an AIR (Alien Investigation and Removal) agent one night, who is dead by the way, and becomes her. This brings her to Breean (I swear these names made me 🙄 so hard) an alien who can enter your body and control it from the inside. Amazing powers right!!!! Can you imagine their kid!?!? Also, she works for a secret Men in Black government agency who is made up of aliens who takes care of immigrant aliens that come to earth. So much freaking potential.

Anyways, these two spend so much time hate sexing and shouting “mine.” It was so frustrating and I was so done with them both. But the sex was kind of hot...ugh. Maybe. I don’t remember. I did cringe a little so maybe it wasn’t so hot. Bleh.

It was free and I had an afternoon to kill. It was also very short. It was at the end of my ebook copy of Deep Kiss of Winter by Kresley Cole and I love her stuff so I gave it a shot. I don’t regret it and I’m just sad there wasn’t more. There were so many unanswered questions but maybe that’s because I haven’t read any of the other books. I’m pretty sure if I read the other books I would have enjoyed it more. But her best friend who is a vampire is named Bride. So I don’t think I’m picking them up.

First let me say that TEMPT ME ETERNALLY is labeled as 4.5 in the Alien Huntress series but it really should be labeled as 3.5 since the story takes place before the events in book 4, SEDUCE THE DARKNESS. You could read it in either order but I think it you would get more out of it if you read it before SEDUCE THE DARKNESS since Aleaha and Breean are already a couple in SEDUCE. Plus you give background on Aleaha's character that will help you out in SEDUCE.

TEMPT ME ETERNALLY is almost novel length and has the same punch as a full length novel. I actually think it's better that is not longer or it would have dragged on like some PNR can do. We get the meat of the story between Aleaha and Breean with less fluff. TEMPT as action, dangerous and of course hot sex between the couple. Both characters are strong and soft and their budding romance it touching as well as sexy.

Justine Eyre continues to bring Gena Showalter's sexy aliens to life in a full cast of accents and personalities. Eyre has quickly become one of my go-to authors for super sexy listens wither it's paranormal or just plan contemporary romances. She a female narrator with a voice that easy pulls off the heroines along with the heroes.

This short brings Aleah Love/Macy with her shape-shifting abilities to the AIR team and her manly love Breean. While interesting, exciting and very much a member of this world it felt very out of place as 4.5 of the series It would have served better as entry 3.5 because all of the questions, tensions and anticipation that should have been generated were already resolved in Seduce the Darkness. I confess while reading that entry I wondered how I had missed Macy and Breean but having already accepted them making this entry redundant - except for the completist in me. Although I did finish it didn't really register as a particularly enjoyable entry because of the timing.

The first few chapters looked promising but then it just went flat. I'm all for the h to not give into the H but for the love of God not for over 3/4 of the book near the end she even tried to kill him!!!

I purchased Deep Kiss of Winter for my Nook and the last portion of it was Tempt Me Eternally. I was eager to read it, and goodness knows I loved the plot. A woman who could shift into anyone else's form? Sexy as sin golden alien? Sign me up!

However, the little novella really did fall short for me. Their relationship was pretty erratic the whole time, it was kind of exhausting to keep up with. They're both incredibly stubborn, not always a bad trait, but I wasn't the biggest fan of it in this book. And holy hell, why on Earth would he just forgive her? Last I checked, when someone slices my throat right after making love, they are pretty much eternally on my shit list. Fuck 'em. Super hard. Right in the pooper. If you catch my drift.

Overall, I'm thinking that this series (and potentially this author) is just not my cup of tea. On the other hand, Deep Kiss of Winter by Kresley Cole is freaking bidonculous. Very worth the read! That series is amazing.

I gave this novella, set in the Alien Huntress, a very poor rating when I originally read it a few years back and had not yet read the earlier works. Now that I am working my way through the series (in order this time!) and I've been enjoying the world which Showalter has created, I thought I'd give it another go.

Nope. Still don't like Aleaha / Macy and Keenan. Original review, as part of "Deep Kiss of Winter", still stands.

This is #3.5 of the Alien Huntress series. I haven’t read the earlier books. But this was in an anthology with another book I wanted to read so decided to test the waters.

When alien invaders arrive secretly on Earth, the leader, Breean takes a strange female, Aleaha as a slave, but to his surprise she resists his advances. (Amazing that he would think this. Sigh)

Interesting and well written, though the end was a little rushed and too easy. (I wanted to kill her co-workers) But I have enough series that I’m reading where each book is about a different couple. Right now I want series with a single ongoing character and/or couple. Maybe in the future I’ll read the rest.

Fave scenes: Aleaha running in the forest, description of the alien’s house and the blooding.

This is my first time reading a book from the Alien Huntress series-its my first time reading a Gena Showalter book for that matter, and I am very pleasantly surprised! Although I did not begin reading this series from the beginning, I did not find myself lost in terms of the plot, premise, or the slew of characters. I enjoyed the uniqueness of the aliens encountered in this book, and I definitely liked the passion packed into this short installment of this series. I will definitely go back and begin reading from the beginning.

It doesn’t matter to me what was going through the mind of Aleaha because Breean cannot read minds.
The reader knows that Aleaha is conflicted in her continuous refusal of Breean’s physical advances, but the fact that Breean is planning to “take what he wants,” is disgusting to me.
Let’s pretend for a second that Breean knows Aleaha is conflicted, even though she’s verbally told him several times to stop~ holding her down to “persuade her” would still be absolutely disgusting.
Strike One for Gena Showalter, not for me, not at all.

Nice enough read. It was the only story in the Alien Huntress series I haven't read and it completed the picture for me.
Of course the cheese kept on flowing but hey sometimes you need the cheese :))) and the fluff and the no brainer.

Aleaha Love remembers her parents promising to come back for her. They didn't. Her best friend was Bride - a vampire. But Aleaha hasn't seen her in a long time. Aleaha is not human in a world where being different gets you arrested at the very least. She has the ability to change her body to mimic another's, but she must stay calm if she is to maintain the shape. She comes across a dead body. Her ID is Macy, a cop. Aleaha takes her shape and begins living as Macy. But Macy has just been admitted into the AIR organization - they are the ones who arrest Aliens. Not ideal for her, but she can't just disappear. She is on her first mission with a team waiting for a solar flare to bring a group of Aliens who are decimating other planets, their blood causes cannibalism. The Aliens who show up are Rakans. Their planet's people were infected and destroyed and they (survivors) have come to earth to live among the humans. They find themselves in a battle instead. AIR orders were to stun only, and Rakan's orders are no blood. Blood can equal death. One of the Rakars goes berserk, enters the human bodies and forces them to commit suicide by blowing their brains out. A simple mission has gone FUBAR for both AIR and the Rakans. The Rakan leader - Breean - takes one look at Macy and says "Mine". A chase and battle between them ensues. He is used to his planet's biddable females and can't believe that this human defies him. At one point she becomes him with his abilities and he can't ask for help, his own men are confused. But Macy can't hold the shape. Somehow, Breean can see her duality of Macy/Aleaha. Several AIR members are dead, others captured, Macy keeps waiting for back up that never arrives. Breean won't let her go and he is stronger. He is used to women responding to his lust fragrance, Macy/Aleaha is able to fight it to a point. He sets out to seduce her, and she is determined to free her fellow AIR team. What happened to back up? Breean claims they just want to live in peace on earth, but he refuses to release her team or to work with AIR against their common enemy. Breean moves prisoners, her, and his fellow men to the home they have prepared over many visits to this planet. They even have an abundance of water that they brought from their own planet, earth rations water, chemical showers and cleaning are the norm. Breean tries to seduce her, as she gets excited her body changes, the more excited she gets, the more she changes, which has limited her sexual experiences, the changes have always freaked out the humans. Breean is fascinated rather than appalled. Even when he finds himself seducing himself, he is still determined to have her. But she pays a big price for her constant changing, too much blood in her system and she has to bleed herself or die. Breean abhors blood as the bringer of plague that killed those on his planet. But to save her, he bleeds her. Even dealing with her blood does not turn him off. She falls in love with him, but still wants to free her men. She manages to slit Breeans throat. To save him she gives him some of her blood. Knowing he will live, but be too weak to follow her, she runs out of his room as him, gives his men the time to go into town to look for women of their own, and goes to the dungeon. There she quickly changes back to Macy, but can't figure out how to let them out. Before she can start cutting wires, Breean finds the energy to spirit walk and he enters her body, forcing her to return to his room. Even then he can't stop taking her body though he is determined to give her no pleasure, he can't keep denying her for long. Then the alarm goes off, they are under attack by AIR. Her men are released, they stun both her and Breean. What does AIR plan to do with her and the Rakans, especially Breean? AIR now knows that she is Alien. She has been lying to them from the beginning. Breean is responsible for the deaths of several of her team, even though he executed his man who did the killing. Macy/Aleaha loves Breean. Will they die together? Will the Rakans plans for a new life on earth come to nothing? For a relatively short book this had lots of action, world building, sex and romance. Read it to find out the ending.

Oh la la, what a steamy romance novel that this was. Of course it's been so long since I've read this one that is going to seem steamy to me. But that's beside the point. This novel was an excellent addition to the rest of the series. It brought a little bit of new information to the table, while giving us a new story as well. It's one that certainly won't be forgotten anytime soon, and it's one that I'm glad to have read as well.

In this novella Aleaha is on a mission. Her very first mission since being in the AIR. This mission is meant to recover all of the disease-ridden people who are about to show up. The ones that serve the Queen who wants to destroy them all. However, Aleaha is actually pretending to be Macy. A golden girl who joined the AIR after making her way to the top of the police department. Aleaha found Macy's body in an alleyway and decided that she needed a new cover. She's currently on the run and being able to change forms definitely helps her out some. However, now she's on the front line and is expected to perform perfectly. Which she may have actually done if Breean didn't show up. Breean is a Rashka, or one of the golden skinned. There Rashka are usually known for being peaceful, but Breean is anything but peaceful. Breean's home planet was taken over by the same disease that is spreading on Earth. All the females were the first to go and now Breean has only a few warriors left with him. In response to this disease Breean took command and trained his men to fight it. Now they just need a new home to live on, one that is hopefully disease-free. However, Breean soon finds out that Earth isn't disease-free and now he has to make a decision that may cost him.

The novella definitely belongs with the rest of this series. It could only be classified as an adult urban fantasy novel, with a bit of romance added into the mix. It'd be hard not to classify it as such, since it revolves around aliens and human hybrids. Making it and all you have left that definitely is worth talking about. The parts of the snow level it is very addicting. It has such a beautiful background to it, but you can't help but love it. The characters are exact opposites, and yet they are exactly the same. Which makes the novel even more interesting. So as far as my final recommendation goes on the smell of Love, I'd say that you should at least give it a shot. Especially if you're really into this series. And if you're not then you should go and pick this series up stat!

Alien Huntress #4.5 Part of Deep Kiss of Winter nook book (other story is by Kresley Cole). To start, I had no idea what this story was about, nor did I realize this was part of a series until after reading - it just came as a bonus with another story. A good summary is available on the Deep Kiss of Winter page.
The setting is Earth in the future. Basic background is that there are aliens invading Earth, and there is a defense group that rounds up the aliens as needed. This is the story of Aleaha (defender) and Breean (alien). Characters were well written, plot was solid, romantic chemistry was believable, but rapidly evolved. This was a short, quick read, which has peaked my interest in other Gena Showalter books. Although stories involving aliens have never appealed to me, I have now read two within a week that I've liked, solely because I didn't bother to read the summaries before starting. Maybe I should skip the summaries more often :)
Recommend to those who like paranormal or sci-fi romance.

This short story was a good addition to the Alien Huntress series. Tempt Me Eternally was released first in Deep Kiss Of Winter.

Aleaha has the ability to change her body to mimic another's. She is on a mission for a possible Schon appearance. Instead a group of Rakan warriors arrive. Breean the leader is one of them.
He keeps Aleaha and her partners prisoners while they plan to negotiate and make earth their new home.

For a relatively short book this had lots of action, world building, sex and romance.

Tempt Me Eternally was short but as great as the other books in this series. Gena Showalter does a fantastic job bringing her readers books that they can escape to for a little while in a different world. I am looking forward to many more books from Gena.

I was not sure at first if this book would appeal to me. it dealt with aliens, being hunted by a group called AIR. Then you realize that aliens have been involved with humans during this time period, and are intermingling. Aleaha, who is able to take anothers form is part of AIR, and thinking her secret is safe. then they hunt a group of new arrivals who is lead by Breean. The chase is one, for love, for passion, and for a united front, that will face an even larger threat. The compassion, kindness, and passion in this book was a balm. The fact that it was so hot..was another. I only started reading Gena Showalter, but if your a fan of Kresley Cole books, you will love her as well.There should be a 4.5 rating...it is at least that!
