I absolutely cannot wait for the last book of this series to come out and when I heard this was coming out instead and we would have to wait for the last book, well, I was a tad unhappy.

The good thing is...this book is worth the wait even if we're left in limbo with everyone. There was a lot of juicy information and some crazy things happening.

But the main....and my ONLY concern was Xan and Trinity. Their scenes killed me!

description

Marko and Carrie? I was shocked she went there...and I'm still not sure how I feel about it!

And should I even get started on Nico?

Shandor and Tahyra...I don't know if I should be turned on or turned off!

Hockey? Please tell me it isn't so!

Becki...didn't see that coming!

and what about Gerik....is that even a possibility?

description

And whatever I thought might happened before, I'm totally riveted to things that will happen now.

If you love Madeline Sheehan's Undeniable series, I really recommend this one especially if you like paranormal books. It has the same kind of feel, just with Gypsies instead of Bikers!

**I love the feature of how you're able to click on the Romanian/Slovenian language and it takes you right to the definition. Not quite as good as having the translation right after but a great feature nonetheless.**

"What if all of it was, is, and will always be an inevitability or a foreordination utterly uncontrollable by us? Would life still be worth it?"

This novella is not to be skipped by fans of the series it tells the further tales of Marko, Hockey, Becki, Shandor and yes...Trinity, Gerik and Xan.

This story also gifts readers a lot answers as to what the Skins are and what is needed to save our world and Trinity.

"Trinity's soul," she whispered. It's inside of me."

Looking forward to the conclusion of this series due 2015.

This book blew me away. And I’m not just saying that because I’m friends with Madeline. I mean REALLY. BLEW ME AWAY. LIKE HOLY SHIT. This is the best book in the series. I swear to God, I cannot express how much I loved this book. Click this sucker RIGHT NOW. I am serious.

The Lost Souls is book 2.5 in The Holy Trinity Series. It continues the story of a world left in disaster. The skin eaters are still around. There are very few humans left; they are struggling to survive. What happens to people who are trying to survive a world left in ruins when there are creatures who can attack at any moment?? When food supply is low and they are starving? When there is no heat and it’s winter? When they get sick and there’s no help? What happens to them, physically, mentally and emotionally? It’s crazy. Really freaking crazy. In this book we are told the stories of what happens to Hockey, Becky, Xan, Trinity, Marko, Shandor and some others. Told in alternating point of views, which I always love, Madeline’s writing is brilliant. I became so invested in all of the characters.

This series has it all- gypsies, a dragon, skin eaters/vampires, love, surviving the end of the world. And of course some steamy scenes too. So many things happen- both good and bad- you MUST read the entire series.

This series is completely different from Madeline’s UnDeniable series but it is equally as great. Madeline’s books are unlike anyone else’s. They are MUST reads. Make sure you read books 1 (The Soul Mate) and 2 (My Soul to Take) in the series first. I can’t wait for book 3, My Heart and Soul!!!

Now that you read my review, GO ONE CLICK!!!!!!!!!!!

“Not all those who wonder are lost…”
-J.R.R. Tolkien

If you haven’t read ‘The Soul Mate’ and ‘My Soul to Take’ first do so now. Hurry up. Chop. Chop.

The Lost Souls sucks you right in from the synopsis. We get multiple POV’s from several of the characters throughout the book which I thought was fantastic. Not once did I get confused or lost about what was happening or who I was reading about. The flow from each POV and character was done perfectly.

We get Tobar, Becki, Nico, Shandor, Xan, Trinity, Hockey, Marko, Carrie, Mira, Tahyra and a few more from other characters.

We find out who survives (for now), who doesn’t (que fuckin' tears). Who falls in love, who falls out of love. What’s happened to characters after being separated from a group and/or who left the camp.

This book had me shouting at my kindle, intrigued, mesmerized, grabbing my hair, thankful that it’s not the end of the world, thankful for soap, shampoo and conditioner, thankful for shaving cream and razors (which I might go and get the laser hair removal done….just in case the end of the world should happen ya know.). At several spots it had me doing the Home Alone face because I was shocked when a certain someone dies. Then I was shocked but not really because I had a feeling that something was going to happen when another fell. Then I was gutted…yet again by the hands of MS (Madeline needs to stop making me cry my own damn tears).

I love how in the beginning everyone was scattered or alone then slowly they join other survivors, then at the end it all comes together. I see certain people in a different light. Makes me wonder what’s going to happen in the next book like how is it going to play out? Will everything go back to normal once they do what they have to do to live? Will they succeed? Who will survive? Who will fall?

My favorite scenes/lines:

“You know”, He said, amused. “Waiting used to drive me crazy. It was all I could think about as a teenager. But waiting for her was worth it. Personally, I’m glad I haven’t been with anyone else. I couldn’t give her very much, you know, but I could give her me, all of me.”-Hockey

“Do me a favor.” He said, choking back his sudden rising emotion. “And try not to judge so harshly that which you don’t understand.”-Shandor

“Are you from another country?”
What the fuck? Did he sound French?
“No,” he bit out. “I’m Romani. I’m not from any country. I’m from everywhere…nowhere.”-Marko & Carrie

“I miss her,”…”I feel like I’m gonna miss her for the rest of my life…”-Xan

40%...beautiful and so heartwarming.

I’m ending my review with this: This series is one of my favorite paranormal series out there. Why? Because it’s different. It’s fresh. It’s unique. There are Gypsies, a dragon (whispers softly…who likes to eat tacos), magic, Hot guys, Trinity, vampires (not your normal vamps either), love, hate, humor, sexy time, soul mates and end of the world doomsday who will survive and who won’t suspense.

I’m off now to be a part of a Hockey, Shandor, Xan, and Gerik sandwich with a slice of Marko on the side for dessert.

Until Next Time…

Happy Reading :)

The Lost Souls is the best in the series so far!

Ever wonder what happened with the supporting characters from books 1 & 2? What happened to Hockey after the raid? Is Shandor dead or is he a Skin Eater? Where did Marko go when he left camp? Lost Souls answers all these questions and leaves you wanting more!

In The Lost Souls the world is still shit and no one is safe. The story covers mostly book 2 but it follows Hockey, Marko, Shandor, and Nico with multiple POVs and story lines that are all woven together.

Madeline does an impeccable job keeping the story together with a continuous flow between all the character and not making the reader question once as to who's life you are following.

Never in a series have I been invested in all the characters but in Holy Trinity not only do I love Trinity, Xan, and Gerik but I want to know how all of the character's lives turn out. I care to know who lives or dies. Who is safe and who is in harms way. Who falls in love and who get broken hearted and Lost Souls gives me all of that and more.

Some of my reactions while reading:

I love Shandor!

Dude the dominance scene is still hot even the third time reading lol

OMG WHAT HAPPENED TO GARIK?!?!

WHAT THE FUCK!!! Nico has lost his shit.

Now I'm not getting any sleep tonight

I know in this last 10% my emotions are going to be everywhere

The next day:

Dude I'm so tired but it's was so worth it.

I'm still thinking about Lost Souls. It's was just so good! I'm so excited!!

Lol I'm silly I know ^_^

It doesn't matter if you love Paranormal books or have never read a Paranormal novel before, you will fall in love with this clan of Gypsy trying to survive the end of the world.

WTH?! That's how it ended?!

Ms. Sheehan Where the heck is the final book? I have been waiting for the past 2 years almost for the final book. It took me forever to bite the bullet and read this one. Now I totally hate myself for caving... I am ruined. UTTERLY RUINED.

I thought Books 1 and 2 jacked me up. I was wrong. My Gawd. READ THIS TRILOGY PEOPLE! I urge you start from the beginning & be smart, don't do what I did. Wait until all the books are out. You will thank me later for this advice.

This Novella is a rollercoaster ride of emotion. Fear, romance, love, lust, Hell, intrigue, hate, hurt & death galore. I no longer have a voice cos I have screamed and cried so much while reading this. I can't go into any type of detail without giving you a spoiler. So I will say this journey this trilogy takes you on is beyond unique. Beautiful. Heart pounding all the way through. I have been knocked on my a** and dragged through the mud reading this trilogy. No, I take that back, it's more like I've been driven through a brick wall, with no airbags.

I seriously cannot wait for the conclusion any longer. I need that book Ms. Sheehan So give me what I need dang it!

I would HIGHLY recommend this read/Trilogy. Read in order & read when ALL the books are released.

I loved this book. Every single page left me eager and begging for more like a dirty girl looking for a cheap date.
My fevered fingers couldn't flip those pages quick enough, as I went from eager to desperate in my search for the answers.

The answers? The answers, you ask? Yeah, the answers. The mystery of where book two left off all leading up to this. I'm talking about the stories 'inbetween' the pages of book two and all the things that have happened up until the point that book three is released.

Some might be dissapointed that you don't get to find out more about the lead characters Trinity and Xan, me, I was just an eager and willing participant in the slow torture of the other characters. I say slow torture, because that's what it is. Madeline Sheehan deliberately and intentionally worked those characters (and me) into a frenzy of love, lust, pain and destruction.

And after reading it, there was only one thing that I could do. I went back and read it again, just to be sure that I read what I really read.
Did she really... Why would she... How could she... Jesus fucking hell, what the fuckity fuck just happened?

I can't wait for the book three, the final, the complete story to be fulfilled, but I have a feeling, that as with every other novel I read of Mads, I will be left holy unfulfilled in my constant search for more from her, from her characters and from her world.
Her stories don't just fill you up, they take over your soul.

Oh the angst... Oh.The.Fucking.Angst...!!!!?!?!?!

If you think you'll get some happy endings in this one, you are utterly wrong. Because, I was... And if you think just because it is 2.5 it couldn't possibly be gut-wrenching, think again, yup, you are wrong. I thought because of the blurb maybe we won't get to hear from any of our main characters but you really shouldn't skip this, I think it is a must read before the 3rd book comes out. Otherwise you'll have blank spots.

I admit there are more than a few freaky events in this one but still you gotta read it. I loved it that Marko felt what Gerik was feeling even after And Hockey, really, REALLY?? FML

This series tore me apart, it is so good. I can't wait for the third book...

The plot thickens...

BE WARNED SPOILERS BELOW

This Review Contains My Unconfirmed Opinions and Hypotheses About the Series

The Lost Souls is book 2.5 in a series I'm crazy over.  These books are not lengthy, but they carry a real punch filled with emotion and hidden gems, jam packed like an underground gold mind.

From the title The Lost Souls many ideas come to mind:

The human characters that are continually getting split up and lost from each other

The skin eaters who aren't dead but aren't quite alive seeming to be soulless killing machines

The deaths of characters

The Soul (as in the split soul reincarnated through time) and those who have lost it over time (they don't seem to fair too well)

The other books were mainly about Gerik, Trinity and Xan.  This book is mainly about all the other characters.  Most of it takes place during the same time as book 2, but it is from the other characters' points of view.

The quote from the beginning of the book is

"Not all those who wander are lost..."

-J. R. R. Tolkien

Then, the first words of the Prologue are

What is fate?  Or destiny?

Do we each have a predestined plan-a path mapped out long before we were born to lead us on our journey?  Does someone, something, somewhere already know what is yet to come?

From these two quotes, I want to think that the ones that have wandering souls have not lost them, and every bit of this has been part of a bigger plan.  Because of how everything goes, characters that would never have crossed paths become key roles in each other's lives, completely changing the story.  Also because of the appearance of an end of time type feeling, we see sides to characters we wouldn't have known otherwise.  Many rise up as leaders, show unwavering faith and unending sacrifice.  Many make rash, devastating decisions.  It's all cause and effect.

From my previous rants about the other books, like my review of book 1 and my posts in Facebook, everyone should know I love Gerik.  Ok, so he turned into a dragon at the end of book 2.  I can still work with that.

Alright, alright, enough with the joking around.  This is seriously an awesome series so I'll try to show a little restraint, un poco de moderación.  Gerik isn't really present in this book.  He's turned full dragon, and left the show for the time being.  I missed him.  We did get some great insight about him through others thoughts.  One quote I have to point out to anyone anti-Gerik is from Marko after he had received The Soul and immediately raped Cassie.

He wasn't sure how Trinity had evaded Gerik for as long as she had back in the Catskills, or how Gerik hadn't gone stark raving mad from her constant refusal of him.  Gerk was a better man than he was, that was for certain.  Marko had possessed that damn soul for a single second and look what he'd done.  But then again, that soul had never been meant for him.

This leads me to the first characters that I want to discuss-Carrie and Marko.  From the quote above and what goes down, wow, just wow, this split soul business is rough.

Fate wasn't suppose to make sense.  It just was.  That destiny, everyone's, had been written in the stars long before their births, long before...anything.

It was incredibly odd, utterly indescribable, the sensation like nothing he'd ever felt before.  Almost as if he were four people all at once.  He was himself, feeling his own feelings, and yet he was him, feeling her feelings.  But then he was also feeling her, feeling her own feelings, and he was also her, feeling his feelings.

In my opinion, it was imperative that the souls mate right then.  I had said before, it was killing Gerik because when Trieme was 22 and Emilian was 29, she was pregnant.  She was killed before the baby was born causing Emilian to go dark bringing about this whole curse on mankind.  To complete the cycle Gerik needed to mate with Trinity.  They were the perfect ages, she 22 and he 29, but then she broke the bond by being with Xan.  Then all hell ended up breaking loose and the backlash of that hell was shared by all.  Now Marko got the soul (at 29) and he made that f'n baby, by gods!  Carrie is just 17, but desperate times call for desperate measures!  Third time is a charm.  I think this baby has to be born in order to lay the soul to rest.

The next are Shandor and Tahyra.  What makes them so different from the other skin eaters?  Shandor had magic before making him more in tune with nature and more knowledgeable of the unnatural.  This is the reasoning he seems to be leaning toward.

"Try not to judge so harshly that which you don't understand."

"You're the sort of beautiful a man doesn't just want to fuck.  You're the kind a man wants to watch fall apart beneath him, so he knows that it was him who broke her."

Remember Tahyra's father called her Atropos (she who cannot be turned) so I'm pretty sure she is going to be important in the final outcome.

Shandor stared at her, feeling the man and the beast inside him coming together.  She was the one thing they agreed upon.  She was their prefect mate, their perfect female.  They would protect her at all costs.  No man or beast would get close enough to take her.  She was theirs, and they were hers.

Both of these characters are certain to have very principal roles to play.  They are the connection between the natural and the unnatural worlds.

On a random note, I just gotta say, wtf is it about Becki that makes every man hop the crazy train!  I must have missed something when it comes to her.  Nico, lord have mercy.

Caged humans were no better off than caged animals.

Hockey is my next topic.  Madeline seriously had intentions of breaking our hearts with this one I believe.  Hockey seems to have been shit on the most throughout the series and still come away smelling heavenly.

"I couldn't give her very much, but I could give her me, all of me."

"Maybe you're right, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't live as an honorable man during the remainder of your life."

"He'll forgive you, fată.  If my frate  loves you, he'll forgive you.  Us Romani, we are weak when it comes...to...our...women."

And then...Then there was nothing at all.  Hockey was in God's hands now.

Then, after drying our eyes, we got to read a sneak peek of book 3.  The best part of it was the last line!

"I'd say we have a dragon to find."

There are many other characters that have roles in this book and the series.  I'm not going to name them all, but it contains a stellar cast varying across the spectrum of lightness and darkness.

I noticed several of the Romani had ideas about if they killed Mullo-the first vampir (aka Emilian), that would break the curse.  Also, it's been said over and over throughout the series that Gerik is Trinity's soul and Xan is her heart, and she loves them both completely.  So, I'm assuming from the title of book 3 My Heart and Soul, it's Trinity's Gerik and Xan combining with her to make The Holy Trinity.  Will this be a physiological combination...or...an out-of-body otherworldly combination...or...  Can we please get some sandwich action?  Please.

In conclusion, per usual for every book she writes, this book is a literary diamond.  I can't wait for more.

I recently did a reread and discuss with some of my reading friends. Of course with a book like this with so much to decipher everyone has varied opinions about what will happen next.

This is sorta paraphrasing some of what I wrote in my review and still how I feel no matter what arguments I read. Xan is the heart. Gerik is the soul. Trinity is the body. They are the holy trinity. The baby has to be born to break the curse because Trieme being killed while pregnant is what caused the original curse. Shandor and Tahyra are the connection between the natural and unnatural worlds.

Yes, I think if the baby is born, the holy trinity get their siznit straight and "the links between" all play out everything will be broken.

The Lost Souls is a novella in The Holy Trinity series, although this series was originally planned to be a trilogy, the author gives us this novella before completing the final installment in the series. Although The Lost Souls is being called a novella, it could be considered a book, and it doesn't disappoint. TLS continues in the tale of a Gypsy clan trying to survive in a post apocalyptic world after a plague of Skin-eaters have destroyed most of the human population. The clan are descendants of Romanian gypsy clans and although they have lived in the U.S. for many generations, they still have traditions and rules from the Old World; women don't have a say in marriage, and outsiders are not welcomed. We learn in the two previous books, The Soul Mates and My Soul To Take, that gypsies caravan and move around often is so that outsiders don't learn that they have white magic. Gypsies are gifted with a special white power, that power comes in the form of four elements: earth, air, water, and fire. There is a fifth element, power of spirit, but that is only possessed by the most powerful Roma or Gypsy, who also have the gift of the other four elements . We were left at the end of My Soul To Take with Gerik turning into a dragon because the dark magic had taken over after his predestined soul mate, Trinity, had married Xan. Trinity wasn't aware that she and Gerik had shared souls in previous lives, and she didn't know that she was predestined to share souls again in this lifetime. Before Gerik became dragonized, he was able to unite with Trinity and pass on to her powerful white magic she was destined to possess. Although Trinity was now more powerful than the Skin-eaters and clan members, she was dying from loneliness. Xan, finding out that Trinity was still alive, and she thought that he and the clan had abandoned her, left the clan in search of Trinity. Xan finds Trinity at the end of the second book, but she is no longer the wife that he last saw.

I was excited when The Lost Souls was released, I wanted to see how Xan and Trinity reunion was going to play out. The love triangle between Xan, Trinity, and Gerik had been gut wrenching because there were two hot Gypsies in love with one gal. One had loved her and shared the same soul in previous lives, and the other had loved her immensely and Trinity had reciprocated out of free will, not because she was fated to love him. Now with Gerik out of the triangle, I would get to see Xan and Trinity united again. WRONG!!! The author, Madeline Sheehen, changes course with this novella, this is no longer the Trinity/Gerik/Xan show. The background characters from the first two books: Hockey, Shandor, Marko, Becki, Nico, and others, it's their stories unfolding in this novella. It is a gamble by the author that pays off, because at the end of the book, I discovered that I was so caught up with the lives of these characters, that I didn't have time to miss Gerik/Trinity/Xan. There is minimal Xan and Trinity, mostly scenes from book 2 re-told, but at the end of the novella, we get a glimpse of the couple and their reunion isn't going the route that I expected. The reader learns in this book to expect the unexpected.and two things to remember in this novella: #1. No one is safe and #2. No one is safe. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but it was hard to see the demise of some that finally were given a voice in this story, you make that connection, and you get into their heads, and then you gasp as you watch their end. One thing about this Gypsy clan, they know that their days could be limited, so they don't waste time figuring out relationships, they stake their claim, and have sex.

Life is certainly hard in this post apocalyptic world, most of the human population have been either killed or turned into Skin-eaters (Skins). The majority of survivors belong to the Gypsy clan, because clan members are gifted with some form of white magic that is hidden from the outside world, therefore they are equipped to fight off the Skin-eaters. Also aiding in the fight is that info has been handed down for generations in the form of stories of how Skins originated, although most thought this was Romani folklore, the Gypsies discover that the centuries-old stories were true. The Skins originated not because of some disease or government project gone wrong, Skins had been in the making for centuries. A powerful Gypsy named Mullo called upon dark magic to avenge the death of his family and clan, the consequence for his actions was that he would always hunger for blood and never again know peace or life without suffering. Lore has it that Mullo is still alive, and the only way to break the spell of being a Skin is to kill Mullo. The number of Skins is now so great that they are running out of food, both humans and animals; Skins are trying to survive, just as the humans are doing. Shandor is unlike the other Skins, he was a Romani gifted with the power of fire, and to his surprise, he still has the gift of fire after he morphed into a Skin. Perhaps because of that power, Shandor has maintained some piece of his soul, and works toward influencing the members of the Skins clan that he rules over to become more humanized or in control. Shandor prefers his clan to eat animals over humans, he is in love with Tahyra, the Skin that he dethroned to take over as the Skin clan leader, and unbeknownst to him, Trinity's sister. Shandor's remaining piece of humanity could facilitate the eradication of the human population even faster, if he trains Skins to emulate human behavior, Skins may be harder to spot. That remains to be seen, just speculation on my part. I have to throw out there that the sex scenes between Shandor and Tahyra are barbaric, animalistic, fury-filled, and HOT!!! Seriously, if I got a companion like Shandor, I might consider becoming a Skin.

Marko redeems himself from his bad behavior in book 2; in search for Trinity, he saves a Gaje, a non-Gypsy girl. Marko ends up on the receiving end of Trinity and Gerik's souls and vast knowledge. He has no idea what he is suppose to do with the power and knowledge, but he finds his way back to Trinity's camp, with a pregnant girl and two extra souls in tow.

Hockey was separated from his group on their last raid, it's been months now, he isn't sure that anyone is still alive, but he is trying to work his way back to his clan and wife, Becki, while trying to survive the Skins and some evil humans. Becki remains at the Gypsy camp, not sure if Hockey is still alive, whether she is married or widowed. Life at camp isn't easy for a female because it's a man's world, and women still don't have a voice in marriage. But since it's a post-apocalyptic world, Becki doesn't let something like she may or may not be married stop her from seeking out another's bed. But since marriage candidates are dwindling every day, Becki finds herself once again voice-less and being forced into another marriage. Nico is desperately in love with Becki, who may or may not be married, and recently gave birth to a baby that she admitted wasn't fathered by Hockey. As we all know desperate times call for desperate measures, and Nico does just that to be with the woman he loves.

I thought that The Soul Mates referred to Trinity/Gerik or Trinity/Xan, but now I suspect that the title could reference Marko/Carrie and/or Shandor/Tahyra.; these couples have found soul mates in each other.

I eagerly await to see the final installment because I desperately want to see what happens to Gerik now that he is a dragon and soulless, will Xan manage to help Trinity retrieve her soul and obtain forgiveness, will Shandor remain just a powerful leader of Skins or will he find a way to track down Mullo, and the fate of all the remaining players.

Excellent series, this is the first paranormal/science fiction-fantasy series that I've follwed. I'm not usually a huge fan of this type of genre, but Madeline Sheehan has made me a fan.

I'm not sure how to rate this novella versus the first two books in the series; it is shorter than the other two books, and it doesn't have quite the meat of the other two books. But it is being marketed as a novella, instead of as a book, so I'm giving it five stars vs. 4 stars if it was being marketed as a book. The Lost Souls provides an insight as to what is going on in the lives of this Gypsy clan and building up to the finale, while providing historical info on the Gypsies and Skins. It is a fantastic read, and I recommend the series to everyone, even if you think that you won't enjoy the science fiction/fantasy/paranormal genre.

I've been looking forward to 'The Lost Souls' since I finished book 2, 'My Soul to Take' and boyza, I was not disappointed.... Madeline has created an awesome world full of darkness, magic, love, loss & heartache and I loved every single second of the emotional rollercoaster I found myself on!

In 'The Lost Souls' we catch up with characters we met in the previous 2 books. Hockey, Shandor, Carrie, Marko and a few others. The book covers the time from the guys in the clan leaving camp to go on the unsuccessful raid until slightly before the point where we left things at the end of MSTT.

We get glimpses of Xan and see how much he is suffering from the loss of Trinity and his subsequent finding out that she may still be alive - glad to say he has (finally) given up his manwhoring ways, but I'm still mad at him.... what a stupid, stupid man, that is so gonna bite him in the butt very soon!!!

We catch up with Becki who, once again, isn't leading the life she would chose if she had a choice. We see Nico, Tobar and some other clan members and find out what happens with them.

'The Lost Souls' doesn't just apply to Trin/Xan/Gerik and their separation and/or relationship but takes on a whole new meaning when we look at the characters in this book and the path their lives have taken since we last saw them.

I am a HUGE paranormal fan and I just ADORE the Trinity books. 'The Lost Souls' beautifully ties together what has happened so far in 'The Soul Mates' & 'My Soul To Take' and sets us up for the final instalment 'My Heart & Soul' which is due out in the summer of 2014. I haven't been so excited about a book in quite a while and it's gonna take all I have to wait patiently to find out how everything works out!!!

If you haven't checked out this series yet, do so NOW.... I love that the story is so very different from most other books that are out there and the situations that the characters find themselves in are far removed from anything that could or would happen in everyday life.
The story will really make you think and, if you're anything like me, you'll cry bloody buckets but you'll also laugh, smile and feel a little bit hopeful that maybe, just maybe, things will turn out right!!!

Can't wait for more of the clan and to find out what happens with Xan, Trinity & Gerik the dragon....
Have to say, I'm still #TeamXan..... ;-)

The story covers mostly book 2 but it follows Hockey, Marko, Shandor, and Nico with multiple POVs and story lines that are all interwoven brilliantly.

Madeline does an impeccable job keeping the story together with a continuous flow between all the character and not making the reader question once as to who's life you are following.

Never in a series have I been so invested in all the characters but in Holy Trinity not only do I love Trinity, Xan, and Gerik but I want to know how all of the character's lives turn out. I care to know who lives or dies. Who is safe and who is in harms way. Who falls in love and who gets broken hearted. The Lost Souls gave me all of that and more.

Some of my reactions while reading:

I love Shandor!

Dude the dominance scene is still hot even the third time reading lol

OMG WHAT HAPPENED TO GARIK?!?!

WHAT THE FUCK!!! Nico has lost his shit.

Now I'm not getting any sleep tonight

I know in this last 10% my emotions are going to be everywhere

The next day:

Dude I'm so tired but it's was so worth it.

I'm still thinking about Lost Souls. It's was just so good! I'm so excited!!

Lol I'm silly I know ^_^

It doesn't matter if you love Paranormal books or have never read a Paranormal novel before, you will fall in love with this clan of Gypsies trying to survive the end of the world.

Check out the first two books in the series:

I try and highlight my favorite quotes or parts from a book I truly enjoy. But the thing is with this novella (and it’s “just” a novella!) I couldn't. As if there wasn't enough time to stop and highlight. That if I stopped to do that the characters would do something without me. Every page you turn, you find out if someone lives or dies, if they will persevere or succumb to a fate worse than death, or if they will fall in love, fall out of love, or find their soul mate.
In this novella you are following Hockey and Mira, Shandor and Tahyra, Marko and Carrie, of course you have a little bit of Trinity and Xan, and others. To me it’s important to mention just how fluid this story was written .That you were able to from everyone’s point of view with out getting lost. And with the new formatting I was able to understand the Romani vocabulary even better. But with that said I will leave you with the one part I was able to highlight, because it was so completely beautiful:

Shandor- “You’re beautiful, Tayhra,” he growled softly. “The face of a goddess, with the body of a whore. Fata, you’re a goddamn work of art.” Red eyes blinked up at him-once, twice, three times, “You’re the sort of beautiful a man doesn’t just wan to ___. You’re the kind a man wants to watch fall apart beneath him, so he knows that it was him who broke her.”

This one broke my heart...just hurt like a mother to read of all the heartache and devastation all of these supporting characters went through out there, alone and sometimes in pairs or small groups, trying to just make it until tomorrow.
We get Shandor and Tahyra, Hockey and in another place, Becki, Nico and Tobar battling out with a new baby in the middle...Trinity and Xan in a spiritual transfer of magic and thoughts...it was a hurricane of emotions and action.
We get many questions answered about what happened to several of the characters from the first two books and are introduced to some new players, but through it all we are left with feelings of utter despair and hopelessness for some and it's crushing.
I don't know where Madeline Sheehan is going to go in the third installment, but I do know that so many people have been lied to, cheated on, murdered and left alone, that it will be amazing to see the pieces put back together and how many of these poor souls are saved.
Awesome novella!

Shandor and Tahyra, Marko and Carrie, Nico and Becki, Hockey and Mira...I was skeptical before I started this novella. I wasn't sure if I cared enough about these characters in the first two books to hold my interest. I was wrong. I mainly wanted to read it hoping for snippets of Xan/Trinity/Gerik. I did get that but they were familiar scenes told from the others pov. (Am I evil for reveling in Xan's misery? #teamgerik). I never should have doubted Madeline's ability to pull me in. I enjoyed finding out what really happened to everyone and I think all of their stories are intricate to the final book, especially Marko's and Carrie's. I didn't see that coming. And I'm really excited to see the reunion between Trinity and Tahyra. I also have to admit that the final page made me shed a tear at the unfairness. Bravo Madeline! I just loved it.

This series is insanely awesome!! The Soul Mate and My Soul To Take were both fantastic. This book was even better. OMG there were so many WTF moments. We get so many wonderful points of view. I was blown away by Madeline's ability to write so many differing POVs. Each voice so different. It leaves your heartbroken, raging mad, frustrated, and finally hopeful for the future. Love, love, loved it!!! Cannot wait for book 3!

I'm 49% of the way through this book and I'm going to have to move it into the DNF category. The plight of the characters is so bleak, the suffering so prevalent that the story is becoming stagnant.

The Lost Souls fills you in on what happened with our favorite characters from The Soul Mate and My Soul To Take. We get to see what happened to Hockey, Becki, Nico, Xan, Trinity, Shandor, Marko, and Carrie and all the others. So many of the holes that I thought were left after the first two books are now answered in The Lost Souls. I find it interesting that she covered what happened to all of our favorite supporting characters.

Madeline’s raw and gritty writing that you have come to know and love are present here in this series. A series about Skin Eaters hunting humans, a world near its end and a clan of gypsys trying to survive. There is love, sex, violence, suspense, magic, a dragon, humor, vampires (not the sparkly kind), and a threat of the end of the world. This series has it all and I loved it.

I was new to this series. I read all three books this weekend. I already knew Madeline from her Undeniable series. I love that series and I love her writing. Madeline’s talent shines with this series as well. It pulls you in and leaves you on the edge of your seat from the first page to the last. She has a way to make you fall in love with her characters. You can not sit down and read one of her book and not walk away a changed person.
This books follows up on Hockey trying to desperately get back to his wife and his clan. It shows his struggle to stay true to who his and what he believes in. We see Shandor grieve for the loss of his old life and to keep his old self alive. Most of these characters you will see what the conditions of trying to survive does to them. Some change physically and most change mentally. It makes your heart hurt sometimes to see what they have to go through.

It is hard to cover all of what happens to these characters without giving away most of the book. Those are just two of my favorite story lines. Yes this book does continue the story of Xan-Trinity-Gerik. (Team Xan!) This is my favorite storyline of the whole book. I know Xan is my favorite but my heart aches for Gerik. I have never had a love triangle make me so undecided for which one she should be with. I am floored that Madeline was able to make me so confused. That has never happened!! Props to her writing ability on that one! The story with Trinity is so consuming and I am on pins and needles waiting for the release of book 3 “My Heart and Soul”. This book goes to show you that sometimes you can’t control who you love and that destiny whether you agree with it or not has a plan for you. Even if it is being in love with two men. I wouldn’t be able to choose and I completely understand Trinity not being able to.

Madeline delivers on nonstop-can’t-put-the-book-down action. Like all of her books this one had that. I rarely like books of this genre but this one was an exception.

Favorite lines:

All in all I give this book and the series 4 kisses
