Read for my Parenting 101 class. I think it’s pretty outdated and fairly biased to a heteronormative/nuclear family idea of parenting. A decent place to start but I would highly recommend supplementing this book with more current and relevant information on parenting and family structure.

I read this for a behavioral science class. It's a little dry but the information really makes you think... I think it would be useful as a tool parents use because it is scholarly. It is not a how-to text, it explains what is.

This book was chock full of great information for parents as well as people planning to work with parents. Does a great job of discussing various attachment styles and parenting styles and the outcomes of all styles. A must read for those planning to work with parents in helping occupations.

Great text on the science of parenting and the developmental stages of both the parent and child. It was very dry and long but I enjoyed some of the insight it brought to the growth and psychological state of my son.

Used as a textbook in in one of my classes in college, it was informative, helpful, and laid out in such a way that made it easy to follow and do the course study on my own.
