Destination Human

Chloe thinks of herself as a normal teenage girl—if there's any such thing—until a formless alien being inhabits her body. The being is named Welkin and claims to be a Universal. Welkin has entered Chloe's body as part of a school project. Chloe agrees to let this weirdo observe her life for three days as long as Welkin doesn't interfere. Welkin tries to respect the non-interference portion of the agreement. But Welkin's stream of alien commentary as Chloe deals with boys, her coach and math homework has a comic, and sometimes enlightening, impact on Chloe's life.

This was a unique read. I found it a crazy story of a Universal coming and going into a human. The ending wasn't a surprise, but I won't spoil it. I'm surprised, but I actually liked the story.

A fun and different type of read for this line. I loved the concept of an advanced alien species inhabiting a human's body to learn about people. I was invested in the story and had to know how in ended, so read it even faster than normal. The ending wasn't what I expected, but in a good way. I think fans of science fiction would enjoy this tale.

The book Destination Human by K.L. Denman is about a girl whos body is taken over by an alien species. The girl is trying to get the alien out of her body but she is not successful. Everytime she tries to speak with this boy she likes, the alien gets in the way of their conversation. This book is about friendship and social problems one can encounter in life. I chose this book because the title made me wonder if it was going to be about an alien invasion or something supernatural. My favorite part of the book is when the alien jokes around with the body it is in. This is my favorite part because it's funny and it reminds me of a movie called Aliens in the Attic. My least favorite part of the book is when the alien has to leave at the end because I got used to it. I enjoyed the book because I don't usually like UFO's or reading about strange stories, but I enjoyed the plot in this book. Overall, I would recommend this book to my friends because it's funny and it is interesting.

Destination Human is great fun! I like the element of the post-human brought into one of the Orca Current books, which often focus quite specifically on real issues in teens' lives. The premise of Destination Human is good, and while I expected the "what" of the denouement, I have to say that the "how" was a bit of a surprise, and--like the rest of the book--cheerfully unique. Nothing about the plot here: you can read the back of the book. Just a teaser: I think I would have titled it "The Death of a Mosquito," but I suspect Orca wouldn't have gone for that...

Abrupt,confusing start. The alien species description was not great but that was not the focus of the story. Came together by the end. Unusual to have a science fiction story in this series.

This book was interesting to say the least. I thought the plot line was very uplifting in its own weird way. This formless alien enters this girl named Chloe's body and is allowed to stay for 3 days of observation if, and only if, it doesn't interfere with her in any way. It turns out to be a fun and uplifting story with the alien helping and commentating on her everyday life. To top it off it was barely over a 100 pages. A great book to just pick up and read cover to cover in one session without having to become a chore.
