This second book in the Aranthian Succession campaign continues the civil war on Necromunda with the fanatics House Cawdor getting involved as a new prophet emerges who threatens their influence amongst the religious masses. Lady Credo’s forces making more gains and revealing who she is working for. The ongoing story of Necromunda’s succession crisis is proving to be an interesting read all on its own, even without playing the game itself. An expansion of the game’s lore is always welcome, and the way the book left things off at the end of the lore section makes me eager for the next instalment to be released.

The rules section of the book includes all the rules needed to play this second part of the series’ Succession Campaign, this time focussing more on the religious aspect of the rebellion as gangs have to recover sacred relics that can give in-game bonuses in addition to granting bonuses. There also rules to allow players to convert your gangs into Crusading Gangs, gangs that have been swept up in the religious fervour sweeping the planet and who can dedicate themselves to one of Necromunda’s saints As with the first book in the series, there are also ules for various Dramatis Persona from the lore section of the book, as well as scenarios that allow players to refight important battles. All these rules look interesting to play, especially the crusading gangs as they nicely expand the lore on the religion of Necromunda. There are also a few rules included in the book that aren’t tied to the ongoing campaign, family rules for Cawdor vehicles and crews, Hardcase Cyber-Mastiff Exotic Beasts, Automata Brutes for the Palanite Enforcers, a vehicle operated by the Guild of Coin, and alliances with the Imperial House. All of which seem to be as good as always.
