BUFFALO-MAN BOOK 1: National Park Ranger Casey Clay plans to get in and out of a thankless temporary assignment on the outskirts of the seedy city of Chokecherry, North Dakota, on his way to a long-term placement as a permanent law enforcement park ranger. A run-in with a local retired federal agent sends him on a hunt for ruthless oilmen who will stop at nothing to keep oil flowing and money coming in. Entangling himself with several colorful Chokecherrians, Casey must decide if he’s willing to pursue an unusual career opportunity in Chokecherry, or if he’s going to cut bait and get out of North Dakota before it’s too late.
If you enjoyed the suspense of John Sandford's Virgil Flowers series, you'll be on the edge of your seat while reading Joe Field's Buffalo-Man series.
Joe Field, a Minnesota 💫 native, channels the Northwoods’ rugged spirit and his deep Christian faith into his creative work. Like a modern-day Paul Bunyan, he crafts music and literature that blends mythic charm with the Gospel’s timeless hope. His art reflects the towering pines and endless skies of his homeland, inviting a bold, transformative journey of faith and wonder.
OK, this book was freaking amazing. It’s hilarious, exciting, edge of your seat, and well written. You will cringe and laugh out loud and jump up and down while you read. Love the professional illustration on the cover as well, and the little snippets throughout were great.
A good, fun read all around full of suspense, laugh out loud moments, colorful charachters and putting Dots pretzels and Huckleberry licorice together like a trail mix!!??...yummy, 2 of my favorites! Can't wait for Buffalo Man 2!
Enjoyed this "outdoorsy" tale of a young Park Ranger intern who tries to track down the killer of a buffalo and transforms himself into "Buffalo Man." Fun, with believable characters and plot.
Off to the races with a fun and exciting read sure to thrill fans of DC and Marvel. Felt like Field’s own version of Batman and Gotham, but set in North Dakota. Must read for Superhero and Action fans.
