Finding Words: Poems on Grief and Acceptance

Rate this book
A collection of poems capturing a young woman's journey through adversity, loss, and the healing path to embracing acceptance."

In "Finding Words", Saumya Roy delves into the profound impact of a personal ordeal, unraveling the transformative power of grief. Grief is a mysterious and private affair in which silence resonates loudly, identities falter and relationships face scrutiny. Amidst this chaos, the emergence of new normals becomes inevitable. The path to healing unfolds gradually, where progress may feel elusive, often finding oneself ten steps behind for every two taken forward.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to be a writer. I grew up hiding under bedsheets and in school libraries, living more in books than in the real world. Life took me through Engineering, an MBA, and a career in IT across China and now Canada—but the search for my story never stopped.

Eventually, I realised the story I needed to write was my own. That journey became “Finding Words”, my first book—a collection of poems on grief, healing, and reclaiming my voice.

I’m currently working on a much more humorous book, co-written (unwillingly) with my inner voice, which thinks it’s a stand-up comedian especially when stressed.

Thank you for stopping by my author page. I hope my words find you when you need them most.
