The original Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles run was only 7 issues so volume 3 of the trade paperback starts with the beginnings of the much longer lasting reboot. Still fun turtle action. We have one that features a lot of Splinter. Also a two part issue, which I have mixed feelings about. One of the things I liked about Tales is that they were self contained stories. But, since both issues are in this collection, I suppose things are ok.

One minor thing that bothered me, in the first one the turtles came across some "albino" animals, except whoever colored it must not have realized they were supposed to be albino, because they were brightly colored. Minor flub, but annoying!

Classic TMNT action. Only 3 stars because of the third story in this collected set. The first two were well written, interesting tales. The third, "The Worms of Madness", was...awful. Which is odd as it has the same writer as the previous two, Steve Murphy, though it has an additional writer as well, Rick Remender. Maybe he had the reins in that tale or something. Basically the plot of the third tale was dull, the dialogue was forced and completely unnatural.
