Stories of God savings thousands of people, in the hardest places, through a few key people.
I love the stories and the emphasis on Disciple Making movement principles. I’m encouraged to hear stories of how they’re played out.

Wish there was a little more practical coaching on how those principles are played out, and how they overcame obstacles.

From the introduction: “This book is intended to go hand in hand with 'Miraculous Movements: How Hundreds of Thousands of Muslims Are Falling in Love with Jesus,' by Jerry Trousdale. In that book, Trousdale outlined and explained some of the important principles that are involved in the worldwide Disciple Making Movement … illustrated with true stories, drawn from hundreds of interviews that he and others have conducted over the last couple of years.

“This book illustrates those same principles, but with very little didactic comment. Instead, we wanted to let the stories speak for themselves, showing how God is at work around the world today in the lives of millions of ordinary people – not just in the lives of Muslims, not just in Africa, but in the hearts of ordinary people from every background, every tribe, and tongue.”

Rather than the brief (but powerful) vignettes in "Miraculous Movements," "The Father Glorified" tells stories that are pages or chapters long. Were there a third volume in the series, it might be a “how-to” manual, as neither of these two provides all a practitioner would seek. On the other hand, Cityteam and others offer seminars, classes and personal coaching.

I purchased this book in its Kindle edition and skimmed this book quickly to meet a deadline, but intend to re-read it more contemplatively at a future date.

This is another companion book to a book called "Miraculous Movements" and "Contagious Disciple Making," though it stands on its own without needing to read those other books (though they're well worth the read!). I just can't seem to get enough of this stuff. This book is full of amazing stories of amazing miracles by an amazing God. I find myself wanting to saturate myself in these stories so that my own faith will grow – faith for such stories to be possible in my own interactions with people right here in the city of Winnipeg where I live.

The refreshing idea in this book is that as they are seeking to tell others the Gospel, they are following the words of Jesus by seeking out those ready to listen instead of throwing pearls before swine.
