This was a surprisingly enjoyable read for a novella. I hate not having time to get to know know the characters, however, and can only hope to one day read a full length novel from Linda Skye.

First, let me just ask, "Who among us will like to see Ms. Skye write a full-length romance novel, instead of the usual novella?" If you raise your hand, then you will understand why I gave this book a 2 out of 5 stars. Part of this book's overall problem is the novella format. There is not enough time to really delve into the characters which makes their romance seem improbable at times. I will not spoil this for anyone but you can pretty figure out that based on the book's description, there are to be some emotional angst at work here. This book does deliver on that front but I felt the angst was too quickly resolved without really examining why they should be in love with each other, except he loves a beautiful face and she loves the idea of finally capturing her unrequited first love. Huge potential but a somewhat disappointing delivery.
