Being Barron 2: Reed & Skye

Rate this book
Along with his siblings, Reed Barron was groomed from birth to do whatever was needed to remain on top. It's in his blood to win at all costs and damn the consequences.

The attraction Reed has for his sister-in-law's best friend, Skye Christian, is something that he fought to resist with everything in him. Reed never considered himself the settling down type, but he freely admits that Skye could be 'the one'.

However, it's difficult for a Barron to change his ways, and when Reed betrays Skye in the name of business, he succeeds in destroying the fragile bond they've managed to build. He also fails at the one thing he promised to never do, and that was betray her trust.

Being a Barron, Reed has an unyielding pride...but so does Skye. She's had enough hurt to last a lifetime. She's learned that when someone shows you who they really are...believe them.

Lies, broken promises, and painful secrets set off a series of events into motion that could cost Reed and Skye everything. They'll be left asking one que stion: was it worth it?

What is it about those Barron men? Is it their confidence? Their loyalty to family? Their intense and wickedly sexy ways? I say, it's all of thee above!!! In the latest installment in the Barron series, SK, took us on a ride to be remembered with, Reed and Skye. This book had it all. Drama, heartbreak, and so many twists and turns that you are left shaking your head and saying, I did NOT see that coming. I was excited for this story to come out. Reed with his Alpha male attitude, going after what he wants, and not giving up until he gets it. My kind of man. And Skye....well, let's say that there were time that I wanted to shake the hell out of her and times when I wanted to cry for her. Lane was just as sexy as ever and we saw more of Max and Taylor. Taylor....she had me cracking my knuckles a few times. All of these things a wonderful story does make. This book was just another reason that Author SK is one of my all time favorites!!!! If you have not read this book, part 1, or any of her Sin City Heat books.....what are you waiting for???? Get on it!!! You won't be disappointed. Ready for the next one!!!

I stayed up late reading this book and I just have to say I love Lane Barron and Skye. Lane was sexy in this book but I expect nothing less from Sk's MIGHTY men but what took me by surprise was the secret he he told Skye. This story took me totally by surprise because this is a new direction for this author. Skye had a terrible past too and the things she went through caused her relationship problems I liked the way she and Lane connected. The thing I like the most about this book is that it has that sexy way about it that's in all of SK's books but it went deeper to serious problems that affect everyday people. Good Job SK please keep writing because you know I love your Mighty Mighty men!

In the world of the rich and.. infamous, whatever a Barron wants a Barron gets. Even if it means doing whatever to make a means to an end. Reed follows this rule of thumb.. always. However, when he bucks heads with Skye Christian, it seems as though all plans go to hell.

I enjoyed this book. As usual the character development and details were on point. The plot however wasn't as suspensful or drama-filled as SK's other books. Overall, still a good read.

I'm glad I found this series. This was good from the beginning to the very end. Reed and Skye a cute couple. When they were in Mexico all was going well and out of the blue Skye acted like an A$$. No reason. 😀😀 So ungrateful. Happy things worked out. Love the sister Tay. She is a true Bitz!!! 😀😀😀😀

Being Barron 2 is the second installment in the Barron Trilogy and tells the story of Reed Barron and Skye Christian. These two were introduced in book one with a challenged that led to an explosive kissed that rocked both characters socks off. In BB2, the attraction is as just as strong and Reed is perplexed how to get past Skye’s defenses. In typical Barron fashion Reed is relentless in his pursuit and determined to show Skye they are meant to be together. Reed displayed he is a true Barron and will stop at all cost to claim and protect what is his. Skye is trying overcome past issues and must learn that true love can be found and be everlasting. I will say no one should sleep on the Barron men because they may an upstanding family but mess with one of them and they will go straight GANSTA!!! I loved it!

I read this book in 1 ½ days and all I can say is yet again SK outdid herself. She did an outstanding job developing Reed and Skye by showing how their flaws and past experiences could become a healing balm to strengthen their relationship. I loved the way Reed was willing to settle for a “friends only” relationship but made it clear the relationship could develop into more. He was a patient man and Skye never saw him coming. The storyline was fitting for this couple and allowed readers to delve more into the Barron family and the bond they share. SK has another hit on her hands and I cannot wait for Taylor and Max’s story. Again the love scenes were intense, hot, and sexy and will have the reader looking for an ice maker to cool off. Great story!

Another SK book that leaves me wanting more. This was a page turner with great characters and one tough family that will destroy anyone who attempts to hurt one of their own.

At the end of the first book, we got a little taste of Skye and Reed and boy do they have chemistry. There was a lot of sexual tension in this book and Skye deserves a reward for her restraint. Reed is the spontaneous Barron brother that acts before he thinks and before you know it, he falls hard for Skye and marries her. Skye adores Reed also and can't believe her luck when she finds a man who is thoughtful, loving and wants to spend the rest of his life with her, especially since she had such bad luck in the past with people whom she trusted. Soon after their nuptials, Skye discovers Reed had an ulterior motive for marrying her and she is devastated.

Once again a Barron male makes a horrible decision and is on the verge of losing the woman he loves. Once Reed is found out, he has to win back Skye's affections before it's too late. Well, Skye makes him work for it, but she's not sure it's worth it to let Reed back into her life. There was lots of angst and back and forth between these two and plenty of outside forces willing to take both of them down.

Another sinful, sexy tale with lots of family drama and angst.

It hurts me to only give this book 2 stars because I support SK and enjoy her work. It's worth buying and reviewing even though I gave it 2 stars.

I didn't connect with this book for a number of different reasons. As a reader, I don't feel like the author pushed herself to write her best work. At the end of the story, I still felt like I didn't know who the characters were or why they did what they did. Even if the author tells us that they've had some tragic event in their life, the author still needs to make the connection in present day and it has to make sense to the reader. I felt like their scenes were awkward and their chemistry was superficial. I felt that the sex scenes overshadowed the opportunity to really get in depth with the story and with their characters. This story felt rushed and formulated. In a series, each book should be able to stand on its own.

I feel that not every character is meant to be a main story. Maybe that was the case with Reed and Skye. Yes there may be 2 brothers and a sister but that doesn't mean that it has to turn into a never ending series because if the stories are written with the same formula, it compromises quality.

I know I say this when every I write a review about a SK book but hey it's the honest truth. Sk brought the FIYAH Once Again!!! This installment of the Barron Series was off the chain good! I absolutely loved Reed and Skye's story!! The Barron's are back and this time it's Reed Barron taking control and calling the shots and most importantly getting what he craves and want the most and that's Skye Christian. In this installment we got a chance to catch up a bit with the Barron family and also got a taste of what I believe to be a hot new romance in the making. The story line was awesome and of course SK signature loves scenes were hot and steamy. SK has done it again and I can not wait to read the next installment of this wonderful series. As always SK job well done!!!

This book was well written, the storyline was ok, but it was definitely lacking the spice and suspense that I have grown to love in SK's books. Skye and Reed were a good fit, but something was missing there for me. Yes they got along well and seemed to be attracted to one another but I just didn't fully believe that they loved each other as much as they kept drilling it into each others heads. I didn't hate the book but I didn't love it either. It was just a deviation from the norm that I am use to from SK. With all that being said I will continue to support and can't wait for the next installment in the Sin City Heat series.

SK is just amazingly talented. This book flowed with passion, erotica and pure romance. SK made us feel Skye's pain from her past. We rod the emotional roller coaster of Reed and Skye falling in love.

I loved how SK placed an expected happy ending, and placed it in the middle of the story. So to give a even deeper twist she thicken the plot near the end, but still gave us a resolution that fit perfectly.

I can't wait for her next release!!!

THIS AUTHOR IS ON FIYAHHHHHHH (in my Alicia Keys voice)

There is something sinfully sexy about those Barron's. Sky didn't have a chance against that Barron charm that Reed hit her with and who could blame her. Reed proves how loyal he is to his family and the things he will do for them when Sky comes face to face with her past. Can Reed and Sky overcome their past and make a life together work? SK spins another awesome tale about the Barron clan and I simply can not wait to read Max and Taylor's story!

All I can say about Reed Barron is WHOA....he IS all that! I loved his and Skye's story, even though I thought I was gonna have to reach in the book and shake Skye until her teeth rattled a few times. She was doing too much!!
I can't wait for Taylor Anne's story, because Max has his hands full, but he's the man for the job. I loved the banter between Robbie and Reed, now that's a funny dysfunctional friendship. Great job SK anticipating the next one.

I enjoyed the sequel just as much, if not more than the first book in the series. I loved reading about Skye's turmoil as she went back and forth about her relationship with Reed. Some readers were annoyed with her behavior but I thought it was realistic given the circumstances. I actually found myself tearing up while reading about their trip to Mexico.

I'm looking forward to reading about Taylor and Max. Should be just as good!

Love those Alpha males

Another recommend read from SK. Reed has met his match in Skye. He's fighting it like heck, but once you meet the one...it's a fine deal. Skye lives Reed but doesn't want to...but he's it for her and she cannot fight it. Now if they get through the dream drama, lies and pains of the past they could probably live happily ever after. Cannot wait for Taylor's story. The Barrons' are strong, proud, powerful, and loyal family.

Another page turner. Reed and Skye were good together. Skye tried to hold out, but celibacy was no match for Reed's charms. I'm looking forward to Taylor and Maxwell's story next, because based on the glimpse I've seen, there's going to be fireworks. Maxwell will have his hands full, and Taylor has met her match!
