**** 4 Sweet Untrusting Stars ****

This is the second book in the series "Second Chances" but it is not a cliff-hanger. I feel that the book had a hard time starting off but once it got started - it flew by and I was anticipating the next move.
In my honest opinion, Daniel, was the star of this book. He made the story interesting and kept me wanting to know what psycho thing he was going to do next.
This story is about Melissa and learning how to trust in men again, especially Brett who is trying desperately to build a relationship with her. Melissa has a hard time with this because of her cheating ex-husband, Daniel.
Melissa starts to see what is underneath that sexy alluring man and it is all good and trustworthy. When she starts to open up to Brett, in comes Daniel who wants her back something fierce. He manipulates Melissa and blackmails her to not tell Brett that he is her ex-husband. Daniel continues to try to woo Melissa while she stresses out what to do about keeping secrets from Brett.
Finally with an unforgiving act by Daniel, Melissa breaks down and tells Brett everything and in turn they agree to try to catch Daniel in a trap....this is where the pages couldn't turn fast enough for me.
See what happens to Daniel and if he gets away with it!!

There is not much I can say about Trusting You, that I haven't said before about any of the books written by LP Dover. They are all phenomenal. Trusting You is a well written story that you won't want to put down, there is just so much excitement through out the book that you are kept in a trance from the beginning to the end. I think Trusting You will most likely be my fave out of this series, it's spicy and oh so HOT!! I would love to claim Brett for my self but LP Dover has already said dibs and wont share. He's got it all; the charm, the looks and the money. Melissa on the other hand has drama following her around, however, Brett is not about to let that get in the way of what he wants and that just so happens to be Melissa. I can't wait to get my hands on the next chapter in A Second Chance Series, I just know with LP Dover writing it, it'll be another amazing book to put on your shelf!

The more L.P. Dover books I read, the more I want more!
Melissa was a girl I could identify with. She was down to earth and feisty. I loved the line near the end when Daniel says how she turned the hose on him and the woman who he had taken to bed with him when Melissa caught him cheating. I nearly cheered out loud!
And I enjoyed watching her find her second chance at love. Brett was sweet, and though the falling in love seemed too fast, I think these two were meant for each other. The rocky moments where they misunderstood each other or struggled with doubts and fears were awesomely written and realistic.
Can't wait for what's next by L.P. Dover!

I had been looking forward to this book since the author announced that there was going to be another book in the series! I knew that it wasn't going to be about the main characters that were in the first book, but that this book was actually going to be about a character that made an appearance in the first book! I actually forgot where this character came in, but as soon as it was mentioned in this book I remembered! I wasn't too sure on the plot of this book at the beginning, but as it progressed I found myself completely engrossed in it! There were plenty of twists and turns in it to make me desperate to read on and see what was going to happen next! The plot also developed at the perfect pace to keep me interested! I nearly finished this book in the one sitting because I was that drawn into it! The plot was different to this authors other books, but I still enjoyed it! The characters were also amazing! Melissa was the main character and I adored her! I felt so sorry for her for the situation that she was placed in, but I loved that she didn't back down! I loved that she took the situation in her stride and tried her best to do what was right! I also loved how much I connected with her! I connected with her from the first page and I loved her relationship with her love interest! Brett was the love interest of Melissa and he was so hot! I loved how cute he was with Melissa and the little things that he'd do for her made me swoon! He was also really protective of her as well! Brett and Melissa's relationship developed at the perfect pace! They made such a cute couple! I wouldn't say they were my favourite couple from this authors books, but they are pretty close to the top of the list! I also loved that the main characters from the first book, Korinne and Galen, made appearances in this book! It was so amazing to see how their relationship had progressed from their book even though they weren't in this book a lot! There was a bit of a love triangle in this book, but I'm not even sure if I could call it that lol! I would say it was rather one-sided! I don't think that there will be another book to Melissa and Brett's story as the ending of this book was beautiful and it summed up their story! I totally wouldn't mind another book though! I can also think of a couple of people from this series that I think could totally have a book! The cover for this book is stunning! I will definitely be buying it in paperback just to stare at it! I also love how well the models suit the characters of Melissa and Brett! Big thank you to L.P. Dover for an ARC of Trusting You and also for having me on her Blog Tour!

I received this ARC for an honest review
OMG!!! LP has NOT disappointed me at all once again!!! I love to read LP's books and I have to say that this new series she has ventured into is HOT HOT HOT...
We Met Melissa in the first book in the series Loves Second Chance. Melissa has recently divorced and has completely moved on and as she moved on she had a one night stand. 3 months later she runs into her one night stand again after thinking she will never see this guy EVER again.
Brett is a hottie who works for Melissa's best friends husbands company. Lucky for him a particular one night stand shows up to his company's party and OH MY do the sparks fly...
When you have been burned like Melissa was by her husband it is hard to trust, and that is what she needs to learn to do with Brett who has the patience to earn her trust.
I can say for a fact that Daniel was NOT my favorite person at all and oh my the trouble he was causing, he made Melissa's life hell, not to mention the man she loves.
This book was full of angst, excitement and oh my was it HOT. I have to say it is hard to choose what book would be my favorite of LP's but this is my favorite in this series so far but you know her books just seem to keep getting better and better.
I have and always will recommend ANY of her books! Happy Reading :)

Melissa Ashford has just left your cheating husband and moved into her own place, teaches Biology, and lounges around the pool when not being set up on blind dates by her best friend. Melissa refuses to put that much trust into another man or relationship ever again. She has a one night stand with a mysterious, dark, and sexy man and then three months later fate intervenes and she meets him again. Brett Walker was ruined by that one night stand and refuses to let Melissa walk away from him even when Melissa's ex-husband returns and is stirring up trouble.
At first this book seemed a little slow going with the back and forth between Melissa and Brett. I know cheating does different things to different people but good lord Melissa move on! Once the drama got to flow and the characters started to interact and develop I was hooked. I didn't want to like all the whining Melissa was doing about not trusting another man, but I can understand why she wouldn't want to after her story fully came out into the open. I am glad that I continued this story. There are very few that I just can't finish and to me that is a crime...every book should be given a chance and I'm glad I gave this one. I would have never fell in love with the story or the characters. I guess in a way I was like Melissa and didn't trust that L.P. Dover could deliver, but shame on me! :)

I have very high expectations when I open the cover of book from this author. Each of her novels I have read posses vivid imagery, intricate plots and characters that stay with me as a reader. This is one of her best so far.
I immediately identified with Melissa. Once you come out of a broken relationship later in life, the baggage comes with you. Learning to trust again is about the hardest thing you will ever do. All too often we put our faith in the wrong people and end up experiencing tremendous pain because of it. I think Melissa's character was spot on and very realistic. At times, I could feel her anguish as her heart and head clashed in decisions.
Brett has to be the perfect man. I swear it seemed as if he understood Melissa perfectly. He knew when to push and when to give space. I honestly don't want to give any more away, but you just have to read this one. His character is perfectly written and I loved it
This series is just so beautifully written, I could sit here all day and rave about it and it wouldn't be enough. I will say this is her hottest book yet !!!! This is a must read and I guarantee it will blow you away.

Not having read the first book, I wasn't sure if I should start this one before I read the other. The blurb on this book excited me, so I jumped on it. Damn, I'm glad I did! I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything, as it can be read as a stand alone. The characters from the first book make appearances, but they are more background characters.
This author can seriously write some steamy moments that literally affect your breathing. I loved Melissa and Brent and was happy to see them get an HEA. Brent seems to be the perfect alpha male with the perfect balance of dominant and loving guy. Nothing he did was overboard and I could see being with someone like him in real life. The writing was great, and the twists and turns you encounter, you don't see coming. I'm looking forward to going back to the first book, and getting more from this author!

What. A. Book. I can’t help but fall even more in love with books that are written by L.P. Dover. She continues to grow with each book that she publishes and I am looking forward to see where she continues to go.
Trusting You is a really great book in the Second Chances series. It is a stand-alone (the first book in the series doesn’t have to be read to understand or read this one) novel, but I did enjoy glimpses of characters from the first book in the series, Love’s Second Chance.
So, there is Melissa, a divorcee who is in no desire wanting a relationship after being burned by her ex-husband. She is a very outgoing person and outspoken which makes me love her. She is not going to take crap from anyone.
Brett, oh Brett, completely swoon worthy, and my official book boyfriend. Brett is sexy, smoldering, and certainly has the ability to be able to charm any woman within eye shot of him. But he finds something interesting in Melissa.
They have a chance meeting one fateful night and thinking that Melissa closed the door to that “chapter” in her life, she is completely mistaken when they run into each other at a party.
This book takes off after that. Every turn of the page gets better, more intense. This is book is literary chocolate that will make you melt.
If you are looking for a steamy romantic suspense read, definitely grab a copy of Trusting You today, you will not be disappointed.

One of Leslie's best books yet, Melissa I loved how feisty she was, "okay, fine. I'll go, but it's not a blind date. I'm going for you and you only since you asked me to. I'll meet your friend and that's it. I don't want any expectations you hear me?" Brett s*** that man is just a total beefcake! "he was breathtaking. Dressed in a simple button down shirt, he also wore a pair of dark denim jeans that slightly hung off his hips, showing off his muscular thighs; the same thighs I dug my nails into every time he pumped into me." He's cocky, "I could say that same for you. You were the one who left me, remember? Imagine my surprise when I woke up and your side of the bed was cold. You didn't even say good-bye...Melissa. I must say that was a first for me." God damn that man is an animal outside and inside the bedroom, "go find Korinne and let her introduce you to her people. I'm sure she's waiting on you. I will find you before this party is over." With those last words, he growled low in my ear as he smelled me." Who the hell smells people, Brett freakin' Walker that's who! He's like an alpha bada**, "I know that look, Melissa. But you have to know that I'm not going to hurt you. You're mine now, and I take care of what's mine. You have to trust me." 5 STEAMY, TRUSTING STARS!

WOW. Yes I am a HUGE fan of L.P. Dover, her Forever Fae series is genius. This is the first book of hers I read that wasn't paranormal and it was brilliant.
Okay so Melissa Ashford has been through hell with her ex husband, that cheated on her. *insert sad face here* But Melissa is a strong woman and she picked up her life and moved on. Granted, there was a lot of dates and one night stands but still, a girls gotta do what girls gotta do ;) . But out of that she did get to meet Mr. Brett Walker.
*Sighs* Brett Walker. The name it self is just sexy. Now add a big, strong, tan, dark haired man and times that by ten, then you have Brett Walker. He's not just strong and SUPER sexy, he's sweet and caring and is just one amazing man. And who knew all along he worked with Melissa's best friend's husband.
This book is filled with love, sex, mystery, and even some lies *OH NO!*. Do Brett and Melissa end up together? And can Melissa ever learn to trust him after everything she went through with her ex husband??
You'll just have to read this amazing book to find out :)!!

She is a high school teacher by day and a chick who bounces from bars and one night stands at night. This life is not making her happy either. There has to be a happy middle.
Her friend wants to set her up with her husband's coworker. Little do they know, she already slept with him and ran away in the middle of the night.
Now Melissa is back and face to face with her one night stand, who seems to want more. Brett Walker always wanted more, make no mistake about that. He never wanted Melissa to leave. He is smitten by Melissa right away. Now that she is back in his life he is not going to let her run twice!
Melissa comes with a ton of baggage. A crazy ex. His cheating. And now he is making her life miserable. Through it all Brett is right by her side and makes it clear he is not going anywhere.
There is high drama here. And also a sweet love story between Melissa and Brett.

Fanning down the flame of my crimson face as I quietly ponder a cold shower because this book is MUY CALIENTE ( very hot)! Maybe a call to the fire department nah that will make blush even more!Trusting You is a great book that may leave you a little warm after reading it. The character's Melissa and Brett were totally meant for one another. His smoldering eyes wow! They both have some baggage that needs to be dealt with and post haste before it comes crashing down on them crumbling the life they could have together but it all comes down to TRUST! L.P. has done it again! I could sit here all night and sing you the many praises I have for L.P. I am a huge fan of her work and this book is no different. I can't sit here and tell you that I will for sure love every book she writes because then I would be biased and I am not that. L.P. Dover is just one of my favorite writers. I am just saying L.P. if your ever in Iowa stop on by will have some sweet tea!

I really enjoyed this book. Melissa is a 28yr old who has been hurt in the past and holds her heart in a steel box afraid of men and the heartbreak they can bring. Brett is a man who was out and celebrating his new job when their paths first crossed and now cannot get Melissa out of his head. Fate seems to have its own plan with these two involving Melissas along with Bretts worst thought nightmares. The "adult scenes" (this is NOT a book for those under 18) are HOT AND HEAVY with so much passion its indescribable. Trust is what a relationship is made of and without it things just are doomed. Trusting You really highlights how the desire for money and power can change people for the worst and someone you once knew and loved can end up being the monster that you are most afraid of. I read this book in a few short hours I couldn't put it down and if you are into romances you really need to pick this up and allow Brett to romance the pants off you! Happy reading!

I received the ARC of this book in return for my honest opinion. In the beginning, I wasn't so sure I'd enjoy this book, and then it grabbed me and carried me along! Melissa is a divorcee, whose cheating ex-husband wants her back - and he will go to extremes to do so. Brett is an architect who works for Mel's best friend's husband. She initially met Brett in a bar and had a one night stand. When her bestie Korinne talks her into meeting this great guy she believes is Mel's perfect match, she is clueless to the fact that it's really Brett! Both have trust issues that will test the boundaries and strength of their love for one another. The book takes many twists and turns: A little intrigue, a psychotic ex-husband, a lot of great romance and steamy sex.....can't ask for more! This book engaged my emotions-REALLY made me feel passionately about the characters & situations! Trust me, read Trusting You!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review: LP has done it again! I loved this book! We first meet Melissa in Love's Second Chance. She's fiesty, hard-headed and smart. She's been cheated on by her no-good egotistical husband. After her divorce, she starts her life over, by having a one-night stand with a hunky stranger. Never expecting to see him again, imagine her surprise when she runs into him at her friends company party. Sparks fly between her and the charming Brett Walker. Just when she starts to open up and let him in, her past comes back to try and ruin her future. She and Brett realize that what they have is worth fighting for.
L.P. does an amazing job on writing the insecurities, and hurt, along with the passion and the suspense. I think this is my favorite book of hers so far. I highly recommend this book!

“Trusting You” is another great read from author L.P Dover. Melissa is recently divorced from her ex-husband Daniel decides to celebrate with a night out with friends. She meets Brett but she never expected to see him again after the night they spent together. When they meet again the chemistry is still there but Melissa doesn’t trust easily anymore and Brett is determined to prove he isn’t like Daniel. Daniel learns that Melissa has moved on with Brett and he’s set on getting her back but his reasons for wanting her goes further than feelings. Melissa and Daniel have been keeping a secret that could destroy her relationship with Brett. Who can you trust when everyone has secrets? I recommend Trusting You to anyone looking for a good read that will have you hooked from beginning to end.

Ok I just finished this book last night. This was the second book I have ever read by this author and it won't be the last! I loved this book it was sexy, hot and had just enough drama in it without being angsty! I loved Brett he was so hot, sexy, loving and very protective of Melissa! Melissa was a hurt divorcee and her ex husband was a complete jerk who would stop at nothing to try and get back into Melissa's good graces! It really was just a sweet and loving romance between two people who had been hurt in the past and were having a hard time trusting let alone letting someone back into their hearts! Awesome read and I highly recommend!

LP Dover didn't disappoint, Congrats!!! What an amazingly written story, I was hooked from the first page.
What if the life you once lived wasn't what it seemed? Do one night stands really turn into anything more?
Melissa was married, has a job she loves, financially stable, great friends and family. She has it all pretty much until one night she has a one night stand and that's all it was.. Until few months later their paths cross and become serious.
Her ex husband doesn't like that one bit and has other plans for Melissa. I don't want to go into anything more and give anything away, however this story was all romance and mystery:)

I was glad to have been able to read and ARC of this story for my honest review.
This story is HOTT!!! I wasn't expecting Melissa's story. But I'm glad to have read it. Melissa's life takes a turn for the worst. But a sexy hunk named Brett is there to help her along the way. This story is fast paced,, and don't forget the action! There is so much chimistry between Melissa and Brett that I litarally had to read this book in front of a fan! LOL I can't wait to see what is next. This is a must read, just remember this contains mature conduct!!!!!

HOLYMOTHEROFPEARL!!! This is a book that you will not want to put down!!! You will get eaten up in the events that take place with Melissa & Brett!!! This book is definitely another FAVORITE by talented LP DOVER!!! I think...... NO, scratch that.... I KNOW this will be a BEST SELLING book!!! Let me break it down or you & just say that "you WILL be 100 SHADES of PINK & RED" while reading this!!! Phenomenal job Leslie!!! I can't wait until I get to read the next in the series!!!

No surprise here.. I loved this book..
Wow, Melissa & Brett were magnificent. From beginning to end these two were on a sizzling hot ride.
The attraction and chemistry between then was divine.
Daniel the ex. What a despicable human being. With his get richer scheme he did not care who he hurt.
Trust a key component to any relationship. Melissa doesn't trust easy not after what Daniel did. But she must learn trust Brett.

A little mystery with my romance please, absolutely! This second installment in the Second Chance series was great. Loved Melissa and Brett. Their trust in each other was incredible. As it was nice to have Gallen and Korrine make appearances, it was the introduction of Mason and Claire that got me excited. I hope to see more of them.

Loved the book but I think I liked book 1 better... I found myself rolling my eyes a few times... but I believe in this author so much that I looked past my reading issues.. It is a great read and one I would recommend

This was my first L.P. Dover novel and I really enjoyed it. I thought it was a different take on a romance novel, it had a bit of mystery to it and I really like it.

Loved Brett!!!!! I am just loving this series and I also enjoyed that Brett was definitely more alpha and lord knows I love my alphas!! On to the next one ;)

I’ve read this book multiple times as well Second Chances Series as a whole but I’ve never actually gotten around to posting a review so here goes. I really enjoyed this story but found that it had way too much s*x, even if their chemistry is completely off the charts. I would’ve loved more time of them bonding without jumping straight into bed basically every time they they see each other. I kind of wish that this book was written in dual POV but still an enjoyable read. I’m pretty sure that the rest of this series is written in dual POV just like LP Dover’s later written series. Man, Melissa’s ex-husband Daniel is a complete and utter manipulative a*sehole whose completely messed up in the head which definitely shows that he was completely off his rocker, after all the antics he pulled during this book. She’s also extremely lucky that she found him cheating on her with their neighbour so she divorced him, as she got away from him and found Brett who loves her unconditionally and trusts him not to hurt her after he revealed what his mum did after his manipulative a*sehole of a father cheated on her so he’d never do it to someone else. I enjoyed Brett and Melissa’s love story but I found that it was kind of rushed, and I definitely would’ve loved a bit more build up to them both saying I love you. I loved meeting Melissa’s cousin Mason and Melissa’s ex-sister in law Claire and I could totally feel the vibes that they were throwing out so I’m looking forward to reading their story next. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to anyone who likes a suspenseful, steamy romances with a HEA.

Ho partecipato al cover reveal e me ne sono innamorata immediatamente, con la delicatezza dei colori, la semplicità del soggetto e il fatto che induce immediatamente al fatto che ci si trovi davanti una romance. Con tutti questi presupposti la mia partecipazione al blog tour non è mai stata messa in discussione. E dopo aver finito il libro, posso dire di aver avuto ragione, la storia è molto coinvolgente e assolutamente speciale.

Penso che non mi stancherò mai di leggere questo di libro, probabilmente perchè sogno di vivere una storia d’amore con un uomo vero, uno di quelli che possa prendersi cura di me senza fanfare e senza bugie, sia perchè a volte, questo genere di libri ti distrae completamente e dopo una serie di situazioni veramente pessime ieri ne avevo particolarmente bisogno. Effettivamente ci sono tutti gli elementi classici e i prototipi che rendono tanto caro il genere. Forse, una delle poche cose diverse è che il protagonista maschile, non è il classico smartass da picchiare ad ogni piè sospinto per i modi da playboy, ma anzi un uomo ragguardevole, premuroso, capace di mettere Melissa al primo posto.
È proprio Melissa, una donna di ventotto anni, insegnante di biologia, che racconta la sua storia in prima persona e che ci conduce per mano in questo memorabile viaggio nella sua vicenda. Divorziata, in una notte di libertà incontra un uomo, ci finisce a letto insieme e poi scappa, lasciandolo addormentato. Ma quando si rincontrano la magia e l’attrazione del primo incontro ci sono ancora. peccato che dal passato di Melissa è pronto a riemergere l’ex marito con tutta l’intenzione di riprenderla. Melissa è una donna ferita profondamente dal tradimento ma che non si lascia mettere i piedi in testa da nessuno e anzi è seriamente intenzionata a farcela da sola e a non lasciarsi infinocchiare dal primo uomo di bell’aspetto che si trova davanti…anche se quando lo rincontra ecco come le appare:

Della serie “saltiamogli addosso anche se mi sono promessa di ignorarlo”. La tensione sessuale è palpabile e descritta magnificamente e punto a favore della Dover non dura molto, perché infondo al suo cuore Melissa sa che può fidarsi di Brett. I tempi sono ben dosati, quando i due si scoprono innamorati non sembra che ci sia qualcosa di forzato, anzi ci si rende conto del forte sentimento che li unisce e che in qualche modo li lega tra di loro. Melissa rischia di vedersi tutta la sua vita gettata alle ortiche ma è proprio Brett che le permette di rimanere ancorata alla realtà e con la sua fiducia e dedizione le regala un tipo di conforto che viene solo dall’amore. Brett naturalmente è un uomo che riempie la pagina e che colpisce dalla sua prima entrata in scena. Bellissimo, forte, un architetto, ha le idee molto chiare su quello che vuole, colpito profondamente da un evento accaduto nel suo passato è seriamente intenzionato a rendere felice Melissa e non si ferma di fronte a nulla pur di raggiungere il suo intento. Un uomo passionale, capace di regalarle un piacere mai provato ma allo stesso tempo di circondarla con il suo caldo abbraccio e di farla sentire al sicuro. Un uomo che si vorrebbe al fianco e con cui si vorrebbe condividere tutta la vita.
Il contorno dei personaggi secondari è vario e permette di arricchire una storia a cui non manca nulla e che risulta incredibilmente dolce, romantica e allo stesso tempo piena di azione. Non posso non citare Mason, il cugino detective di Melissa, Korinne la sua migliore amica di una tenerezza unica, il cattivo della situazione Daniel e naturalmente Claire. E come dimenticare la nonna di Brett, una vecchietta adorabile sempre pronta a preparare deliziosi manicaretti.
Lo sfondo su cui si muovono i protagonisti è quello della Carolina del Nord, in una piccola cittadina dove i protagonisti hanno tutto, ma il set principale è proprio la casa di Melissa, in cui prenderanno parte molte scene…soprattutto una certa piscina *smirk*.
Il particolare da non dimenticare? Un orologio…
Una romance romantica e piena di iniziativa, dove i protagonisti coinvolgono il lettore che è incapace di smettere di leggere finchè non arriva all’ultima pagina, con un epilogo che riscalda il cuore. Melissa e Brett regalano una vicenda ben congeniata, che anche se non è particolarmente originale, risulta comunque assolutamente affascinante.

I Loved it!!
This book has everything. Suspense, sexy time and the "this could happen in real life". And, Melissa wasnt a whinny heroine she was strong and sassy. I am on to the next. Wish it was on audible..
