Sandra began writing in the eighties and was multi-published in category romance, contemporary fiction, and teenage self-help books. After a life-changing experience, she returned to finish her teaching career. Retired from teaching, she is pursuing a career in writing.

The writing styles changed over the years so Sandra had to relearn the craft and start from square one. She adores a good romantic tale and strives to tell them as well.

During the hot summers she and her husband travel throughout the United States in their motorhome. Her favorite travel experiences are to see and enjoy God's beautiful creation. She loves the national parks and monuments where nature is preserved for all to see and enjoy.

One of the things I love best about Sandra Leesmith books is this author's ability to put a fresh face on love with truly unique settings and a crisp, easy style that both delights and inspires. From first page to last, this tender love story aboard a steamboat cruise will sweep you away as effortlessly as the historic paddlewheeler that meanders the Mighty Mississippi, providing a happily ever after that will sail away with your heart.

Boring and flat. There was nothing compelling to make me care about the generic characters. Also, some of the author's word-choice was awkward ("Toxic kisses"?? Not romantic or desirable.).

Sandra Leesmith's charming novel of shipboard romance kept me turning the pages to find out how Janelle and Rett would overcome the negative influences of their pasts and find their way into each other's heart. I loved the setting of the Mississippi steamboat cruise and the vivid details Leesmith included. Rett's relationship with his dad is touching--so sweet to see how Rett's feelings toward his father changed during the course of the story. A well-written novel with intriguing characters. I'll definitely read more from this author!

I bought this book for a buck, so when you take that into consideration, it was awesome. If you put the price aside, it was just okay. The story was slow to start, the middle showed promise, the climax was exciting but the conclusion was way too brief. The characters were likable but under-developed, unbelievable and sometimes a bit on the ridiculous side. It also seemed to be aimed at a narrow demographic, which I'm not quite sure I fit into. That said, I still mostly enjoyed reading it. And now, I totally want to go on a Mississippi River cruise...minus the dangerous parts.

Repetitive language like the author lacked creativity. Terribly written. Redundant, unimaginative characterization, formulaic dialogue...I want to take it out back behind the woodshed and shoot it to put it out of its misery. This book needs to be put down.

Predictable, fairly boring. I liked the main character, but the story was overall fairly boring. A fast read, but probably wouldn't suggest to others unless you want a fast, easy read.

Nice romantic novel. The ending didn't seem well thought out and was disappointing.

This is the slowest book I have ever read. I kept thinking that it might get better but it never did. I won't read anything else from this author again.

Argh

This book looked cute but was predictable and slow. I found myself having a hard time finishing. This concept was cute but the way it was written was painful.
