Kiss Across Time #1

Kiss Across Time

Rate this book
A single kiss can change more than one life...or two.

Taylor Yates is fired for insisting the 5th Century Arthurian poet, Inigo Domhnall, existed. When she hears Domhnall's lyrics in a death metal song, she engineers a meeting with lead singer, Brody Gallagher. An unintended kiss sends them spinning back to the poet's time, when Saxons were pillaging King Arthur's Britain.

Brody's all for kissing her again. More, he wants her to kiss his friend and lover, Veris, to see what will happen. When Veris' kiss sends them back to the time of the Vikings neither man is willing to let Taylor simply walk out of their lives.

But Brody and Veris are more than lovers and sexual playmates, as Taylor learns when they investigate the kisses that send them across time. The secrets they share have the power to completely alter her life.

Warning: This story features two super hot alpha vampire heroes, multiple sex scenes, including anal sex, MM sexual play, and MMF sex. Do not read this book if frank sexual language and sex scenes offend you.
The time-space continuum was restored to order at the end of this book. Promise.

I'm Teal Ceagh, writer of erotic urban fantasy and paranormal romances for Ellora's Cave.

My real name is Tracy Cooper-Posey and you can actually find me hanging out on my other Good Reads account under my real name (http://www.goodreads.com/TracyCooper-...) where I write erotic romantic suspense and erotic historical romances for Ellora's Cave as well.

About Teal Ceagh
****************

Teal Ceagh was created in mid-2009 to allow me to write wildly different types of erotic romances and market them without disrupting my already established readers. I write romantic suspense and historical romances for Ellora's Cave.

Teal Ceagh writes the hottest of MMF ménage paranormal romance and urban fantasies that Ellora’s Cave have to offer, and that’s a pretty extreme jump from romantic suspense. I didn’t want to readers to get whiplash crossing the two genres, and having two separate pen names makes marketing a lot easier.

Besides, I wanted to see if the writing
stood on its own. (It does…boy does it ever!)

By the end of 2009, however, disruptions in my personal life meant I couldn't keep up with three blogs, three Facebook accounts, three sets of everything (I’d also been running a marketing business on the side, too). So I brought Teal Ceagh "out," which allowed me to bring her to my home blog and melding the two sets of books and so forth. That also meant telling the world who Teal really was, which would make my life considerably simpler.

Lots of people ask about the name, Teal Ceagh. Actually, it's still really my name. It's my intials: TLC. If you pronounce them, you're saying Teal Ceagh. "Ceagh" is pronounced
"see" and it's Irish.

I would like to go on record as saying that my new favorite phrase might now be "time-traveling vampire menage." I'm going to start using it in everyday conversations. "Yeah, I need to go to the grocery store. They're having a special on a time-traveling vampire menages." People might look at me oddly, but it'll give me a lot of joy to use those words. A LOT.

*ahem* Right. So, this book... very good. There's naughty sexin' in a variety of places and a variety of positions. There's hot alpha males who don't mind going one-on-one with each other. *fans self* There's danger and intrigue and a cool secondary character who popped up out of the blue to (hopefully) stick around.

Brody and Veris are intriguing. They're from very different places and, at times, that comes out in their actions. Veris is the big Viking who takes what he wants. Time and love have taught him to regret some of the things he's done in the past, but he's still a warrior at heart. Brody is the poet. He's not less intimidating than Veris but he's learned to adapt more readily and see through what Veris and Taylor are saying and interpret why they're saying it. I like Brody. It's the bad boy rock star thing. He's just... delectable.

Taylor. Well, Taylor has a lot of take in when the truth about what Veris and Brody are is dumped in her lap. She handles it well. I think she's going to fit in nicely down the road as things progress in their triad.

Fast paced with the naughty type of sexin' that I like, there's still plenty of story left to tell with these three. I'm excited to see where they go from here.

I was perusing Amazon for free ebooks and this book caught my eye the way that a train wreck or wardrobe malfunction would. With a subheading of A Vampire Time Travel Menage Romance Novel, you know my interest was piqued. Menage? Also, a promise warning of sexy times in a very uncomfortable place, and I’m not talking about the back of a Volkswagen. I find that the number of subgenres crammed into a romance novel is inversely proportional to the quality of said novel and directly proportional to my enjoyment. And enjoy it, I did because this was dreadful.

What surprised me the most about reading this is that I actually liked the premise. If Anne Rice had used this premise in one of her novels, I would have adored it. Lady gets involved with two vampires and uses the time traveling kisses to help her write her dissertations? Solid. Wait, didn’t Anne Rice write something like this? Wasn’t this just a rehash of Queen of the Damned? There are so many parts that reminded me of the movie. Rockstar Vamp. Dressing up like a goth. Flashbacks. There’s a queen. Definitely some major ripoffs homages to our lady Rice.

The execution was, however, terrible. Really, it did a huge disservice to the neat-o premise. This barely constitutes a novel. It’s a very quick read at 162 pages. Honestly, I would much rather it be well-written and 400 pages. I would have eaten it up and probably (at least my younger Anne Rice-obsessed self) would have given it a 4 star rating at least. This, sadly, felt like it was written in a weekend. Super quick, glaring plot-holes, weird pacing. It felt like a 30 minute movie based on a thousand-page novel--rushed and confusing.

I admit that I was interested in the menage and…uh..sexy times in uncomfortable places? I hadn’t read any romance that included these and was curiously hopeful but it ended in disappointment. The first time it happened was sexy enough but the next few times were wash, rinse, and repeat. I feel like even the same wording was used. One would think that with one more person thrown in that you could mix it up a bit more.

I know I’ve said it already, but the hastiness in the writing of this book did a great disservice to the premise. I liked reading it in a silly-lifetime-movie sort of way but a part of me pines for the legitimate erotic novel it could have been.

PS: Can we talk about how fucking weird it is to dedicate a threesome-anal-erotica book to your son?

First I want to let you know that Teal Ceagh is also Tracy Cooper-Posey

Now, she is actually a pretty dang good writer and I like Most of what I have read of hers.
But! This is a time travel story/series and was one of my first clues that Time Travel is not for me.

Steamy sex scenes are in it. It is MMF and PNR (vampires).
I liked it but .... The time travel thing through me off.

I love vampires and I love time travel and to have them combined is fantastic. I actually was pulled into this story after the first page and would have read it straight through if I had not had to work and sleep. There is nothing ambiguous about the story or the characters, it flows naturally from plot point to plot point and fully engages. The characters are true to life and you can imagine either knowing them or having seen their type around at some. The conversations are believable as far as language and tone which makes it easy to follow.

Everything begins because of Taylor Yates, a history professor who has been researching her thesis on a man who does not seem to have ever existed. When she is fired from her position because of this research she is less than happy but is astonished to hear the lyrics of a poem written in 5th century England blaring from the apartment of her neighbor. Upon finding out that it is being performed by a death metal band she insists on meeting them by any means necessary. At the concert for Nocturnal Rain she does make it backstage and meets with Brody Gallagher, lead singer, and his partner Veris, two very handsome and virile Vampires. What starts out as an academic search soon turns into much more for all three of them as a kiss transports them back in time.

There is a story of history in the dark ages, a quest to bring a lost poet's contributions back into the light of history, their is guilt, pain, love, and lust. All the elements which make a story worth reading. There are also some very hot sex scenes! If mm play does not appeal to you I would say avoid this, also if threesomes are objectionable I would give the same warning.

Kiss Across Time is an action packed, dramatic story with hot alpha vampires and a feisty woman! What more could you ask for?

Taylor has been researching a poet that has been dead for centuries. There’s no positive proof that this man existed, but Taylor is sure of it. After a chance encounter, she’s fired from her university position. Then she hears this poets words being used in a heavy metal song. She finds a way to meet the band and from then on it’s GAME ON!

When she meets Brody, the band member who wrote the song, she also meets Veris. They’re lovers, have been for a VERY long time. They both want Taylor. When they kiss, they transport back through time and re-live memories of centuries past.

They have to contend with passion, attraction, time-travel and a vindictive vampire queen. We have kidnapping, fights, time-travel and hot ménage sex! But it’s not just Taylor with Brody and Veris, Brody and Veris are lovers and we get some M/M action in there as well.

Tracy Cooper-Posey managed to write a story that travels through the ages, literally. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t stop reading. This story is filled with action, romance, angst and two very hot alpha vampires.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Hmmm

I liked it but at the same time I didn't. It's hard to explain. The story is good and I like the idea of it and it was pretty well edited but I feel like it could have been fleshed out just bit more. Things kinda felt like they were just pushed together.

I just read this story again. I wanted to start the series over. This is a quick read, and introduces you to the three main characters. Two are vampires and one is human. M/M/F storyline with open door sex scenes from the very beginning. Time travel that links the characters together in a well written style

This is the paranormal version of The Time Traveler's Wife...except everyone can travel, and it happens DURING SEX!!!! How freakin' cool is that?!?! HEAT INDEX: 4.75 – Holy Smokin' Hotness! **fans self**

This is gonna be a down-n-dirty review, my friends. With only 162 pages, Kiss Across Time packs a powerful punch. World-building, character-building, and the construction of powerful and intricate relationships are carefully woven into the novella. Each fact, detail, sensory impression are purposeful and meant to tantilze the reader. And tantilize, Ms. Cooper-Posey did.

I'm pretty sure that the hot rockstar vamp and his partner-in-immortality were two of the most intuitive characters I've read in a long time. Brody and Veris are magnetic personalities. I was simply drawn to them, and cannot wait to read more about them! With Arthurian, Saxon and Viking references, the historical aspect wasn't over-done, and greatly added to my enjoyment of the title (because I'm a bit of a Viking, Saxon and Arthurian legend geek, naturally).

Taylor, the professor-next-door that was canned from her university position before being granted tenure because she dared to think differently. I was really intrigued by the premise of Taylor's thesis, and would LOVE to spend time hanging out with someone like her...except I'd want to discuss the literature aspect versus the historical aspect. Seemed like she'd be the type that would be able to discuss both. One thing that concerned me about Taylor was the fact that she seemed content to be 'bought out' of her theory... you'll understand when you get to that part of the story.

Menage. Smokin' HOTTTT! What I really enjoyed about this trio was the fact that Brody and Veris had an existing relationship, and Taylor appeared to fit seamlessly into what appeared to be a love and respect-filled pairing. It looked like they'd been traveling through time simply waiting for Taylor to arrive. Readers will love the time traveling, as well as what it represents for the trio.

I'm eager to read subsequent titles in Ms. Cooper-Posey's Kiss Across Time series. Book 2, Kiss Across Swords is available June 1, and a third title, Kiss Across Chains is slated for July 1. Sounds like I've got myself at least two fabulous titles to enjoy in the summer sun!

This book has a little of everything in it and I loved it. The time travel makes for an extra interesting twist into things as well as changes the scenery for some of the erotic scenes as well.

The main characters are written just perfect. Veris is strong, intellectual and definitely an alpha vampire. Brody is the more romantic and sensitive of the two and also the peacemaker. The fact that Brody is the lead singer in a death metal band just makes this story even better. When Taylor joins the two men it becomes an erotic adventure with time travel, kidnapping plots and plenty of action and fighting.

The trips back in time really help add another layer to this novel. The two vampires are centuries old and instead of just being told of their past you get to experience different time periods first hand with the characters and as Taylor gets to experience it also.

I can‘t wait to read the next book in this series. Even if you are not as fond of M/M or M/M/F romance I still recommend this book because it is beautifully written and it will stick with you after you have read it.

A professor looking for answers to prove a fictional character was real finds answers in the most unlikely place. She learns the truth after a kiss at heavy metal concert. A kiss that somehow puts her in a very sexual situation but in a different time and place. The kiss ends and she is once again at the concert but very much confused. She meets two gorgeous men backstage, who tell her an unbelievable story. She's seduced both by them and their story. I don't do spoilers, let's just say that this is a tale filled with new adventures and discovering sexual passions she's never dreamed of. She discovers that paranormal beings exist, but most of all she learns love can be shared equally and completely between two lovers who in turn will love her the same no matter where or even when they are. I loved this story with its different take on time travel and how it makes you feel the passion between the three. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading of sexual and paranormal adventures

2.5 - I had some issues with this book (spoilers ahead)

First off, I didn't really get the importance of Inigo what's-his-name. Why was Taylor so fascinated with him, why did Brody tell her stories of him when she was a child and why is Veris determined to make him known to human history again? It just makes no sense to me whatsoever and it frankly brought the whole book down for me.

There are just too many coincidences...the day Taylor gets fired, she just happens to hear Inigo's lyrics playing in a death metal song in her neighbor's apartment!!! And that particular band just happens to be giving a concert in her town that very night!!! For some reason, the lead singer comes soaring up from the stage on wires directly to her and kisses her!!!

This kiss begins the weird series of waking dreams where Taylor is dragged into Brody and Veris' past. Oh yeah, the whole vampire thing is kind of just thrown in there. Taylor doesn't seem to be surprised or affected by this. She asks no questions and hardly bats an eye.

Won't continue this series.

This is the second time-travelling vampires book by Tracy Cooper-Posey I have read in the last two days! Each so completely different to each other. Who knew there were so many ways for a vampire to time travel!!

Her characters are well-written and the alpha males are to die for. Wouldn't we all want one, vampire or not??!! Her books are also brilliantly written MMF. How are the men so romantic while being so tough.....she writes them so well.

I wish this book could have been longer so that more details could have been included. On to the next in the series..............

I liked this book a lot. Who wouldn't want two very Hot and Sexy men (say vampires) lusting after you. The story line is really interesting. The way they travel through time sounds so interesting that I need to buy the next book. This is light and captivating and a great change from some of the other books I have been reading. I think you will like it if you are not shy or offended about the erotic sex.

PS: Brody is my favorite.

First read in 2015. Ménage paranormal erotic romance.

Wider series is a vampire time travel erotic romance (not so much time travel in this instalment). This is a short read (150 pages) 2nd book is a bit longer so probably fills the gaps in (this is a free read).

Taylor doesn’t seem to blink when Brody and Veris reveal themselves to be vampires, or question their time-travel kissing episodes for someone who is a historian. She doesn’t want any answers?
The explanation for the time-travel thing is not really expanded on aside from “you get to live the memory not just hear about it” and that was just brushed aside.

Brody and Veris have always been lovers (bisexual I assume as it didn’t seem like a first time with a woman), we don’t really know much about them. The rest of the plot was a bit flimsy too, would’ve probably been better off focusing on the 3 of them instead the introduction of the Queen. This is the first in a series though so I guess more answers will follow.

The sex scenes were a bit repetitive and not this author’s best, included: fingering, ass play, anal, simultaneous anal/vaginal penetration. Ear kissing! MMF penetration scene. Not that many MM interactions considering the two were already lovers.

Interesting premise could use a better editor

I liked both the characters and the premise of this. As some have noted there are some similarities to Anne Rices and Laurel K Hamiltons works.

However this is not plagiarism. There is enough uniqueness that I wished there had been more plot and less sex... Something I rarely say.

A good editor would point out what areas need to be expanded on and what could be cut. A good editor would catch the rampant homophone, comma, and missing/wrong word problems. A good editor would help with incorrect historical details.

In short this book needed a better editor. Unlike some of the reviewers I like a fully equal triad. So this was refreshing. I liked several of the side characters infusing Andy. I liked Taylor and understood her motivations.

But because good characterization and interesting premise can't make up for the rushed plot and the poor editing I can only give this three stars.

This is the first book that I read by this author and I really enjoyed the story. The only thing I wished for was a little more details on somethings but other than that I loved it. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Taylor is working at a university about to get tenure when she is unexpectedly fired. After going home, she hears her neighbors play this loud music which has the lyrics from a poet that was part of her research. She immediately goes out and tries to meet with the lead singer to find out where he got the lyrics from. If she can finds out where then maybe the last seven years of her life wasn't a waste. She meets Brody and Veris at the concert. Brody is the singer and Veris is with him. They share an intense encounter before going back to their hotel room. The three have to decide what their future together may be.

A Brilliant Start to this Vampire, Time-Travel Series!!

Taylor Yates is fired for insisting on pursuing an early poet, whose existence is questionable, for her thesis. Ironically losing her job and her boyfriend in one fell swoop. When she returns home and her neighbor is playing a death metal song with the lyrics from the poet she is tracking, her life continues to change.

Snagging tickets to the bands local concert to further investigate; she also gets selected to come backstage to meet the band. When a kiss transports her to another place and time, once again her reality takes a huge shift. Turns out the band members are vampires and have an association with “her” poet, but they will not be able to prove it for her.

Intricately balanced story of time-travel, vampire politics, vampire ménages and scintillating romance. I highly recommend this story!

I love time travel stories with a lot of spice

Taylor is in search of proof of a man that would make the legend of King Author true. She meets Veris and Brody members of a music band. They are not who they appear. Her first touch from them sends her and these mysterious men back to medieval times to glimpse at a past that Veris and Brody know well. Taylor is a key to their past, present and future.

I don't want to rate it as I'm not into MFM. I picked it up on a whim, because it was free and I do like vampires and MM, but ultimately these aspects were overwhelmed my the MFM. So I guess what I'm saying is, I liked the story well enough, at a maybe 2.75 star level, but was turned off by the MFM relationship. However, that's not the book's fault.

A GREAT read - have been a fan of Time Travel and Vampiric love stories separately - love the way Tracy put them together - and included just enough humor to make it seem so plausible. I had no idea when I began my read of Kiss Across Time that it would go in the direction it did, and why. Want to read on....and I will

Well, that was certainly an interesting introduction to this series. An erotic romance with hot Vampires and Time Travel via mind melding - sort of... Lots to think about with an interesting, twisted plot. Well written and I'll be definitely reading some more books in the series. Be warned there is lots of 'steam', MFM and all positions in between.
