4.5 LOVELY, evocative, and so very steamy stars
Sometimes the best things do come in small packages. Yours is one of those things.
Imagine a dive bar on a cold stormy night. A lovely young man walks in, snowflakes dripping from his hair. His elegant bearing gives him away, but he’s lost: no money, no cell phone, no hope. The gruff bartender, black circles under his eyes, sees the young man and freezes.
Sometimes we walk into the right place at the perfect moment in time.
I loved the dreamy feel of this story, the edge, the build-up, the gorgeous ending. We get no info dumping about Kyle and Beau, but somehow I KNEW these men. The tension, chemistry, and anticipation were palpable.
The BDSM is not on page but implied; if you’re into romantic, smexy HEAs, like I am, you won’t be disappointed.

How can someone write something this beautiful?
It's too short to develop a romance but it's indeed a romance. With an interesting twist towards the end that made me want to read it over again and focus on details and hints with more attention.
Such a yearning, a longing, a need, you can almost chew it. Simply spectacular.
The only drawback... I had the impression this was not a BDSM story. I mean, it's divine so many ways, but that dom-sub relationship sounded a little strange to me. Not that I'm an expert, of course.

A Hearts On Fire Review
FOUR STARS--Kim Alan's "Yours" is a steamy, short read about a lost "boy", Kyle who has been freed from his Master and he just can't properly function since he's needing his collar. He's stranded at a bar of questionable repute on Valentine's Day with no cell phone or wallet. Can you just picture a blonde, blue eyed 21-year old twink, shivering with a pout needing a nice strong Master for his own to claim?
*smacks lips* I thoroughly enjoy stories like this. And add the little plot twist to boot? I was chuckling with glee. Kyle bucks upon burly and seemingly dominant Beau at the aforementioned bar. The burly bartender offers Kyle a ride home...*wink wink*
This story read like that one good chocolate candy out of a box of chocolates. Satisfying and with a little surprise but you chew it anyway because it tasted so good. Kyle does find a Master of his own with a strong HEA.
But...
Here's what ruined my happy moment and stopped me from rating this story 5 stars:
TEARS!
I understand men cry. I've even seen it- might have caused it once or twice in my life. But crying right after an orgasm? Come on, man! Man up! It was the burly one apologizing and it totally messed up my tingly bits high that was going on from the pretty intense sex scene. If I could have reached into the story, had crier #1 dismount crier #2 and send him into the bathroom to pick up the pieces of his dignity, I would have. The ending between Master and boy, it read a bit lackluster because the shadow of tears was heavily present.
Nothing can ruin a scene for me like a grown man crying for a reason like reconnecting with someone you love. Gag!
But even with the man tears (*rolls eyes* thank goodness it was towards the end), this story was one hot little number. I enjoyed the twist (I admit to having re-read to fully catch on as to who was who - I won't spoil it for the curious) and the author evoked emotions and a hot plot into a short story saving it from being lumped under the PWP category.
Fun, little read.

3 1/2 Stars - Cool and stirring with a fun turn of events, in just 20 pages
Another great shorty in this "tender sweet" D/S gay genre by Kim Alan. My third and I have liked them all very much (freebies as well). I just wish them to be longer an want a full lenght novel, in this style, from this writer soon.
Much more smart done, and with an enjoying (...really romantic and touching) story, is hard to get on just 20 pages. Well worth to read. ~ Recommended for witty smut readers.

I was reading the first 90% with growing disapproval. But the ending made it clear that there was a lot more going on than I thought. Yours is a very intense, steamy story with an unexpected turn. D/s is not my thing, but it’s a great story!

This little story is just so sweet I had to go back to the beginning and read it all again. And not just because there's a twist at the end that makes you want to study any clues dropped at the beginning.

Hah! I knew it! So happy I was right. What a fun little story with a light taste of kink. Kyle was such a sweetheart. I fell in love with him from the get go. And Beau was a big bad smexy thing. I really wish there was more to their story, as I could happily read more steamy scenes about them, their pasts and their future. More, please, Kim! Solid 4.5 stars for me on this one.

Re-read November 2015: I don't know why I decided to put this on my "fuck yeah" shelf, probably because of the surprise ending, but I decided to remove it. It's still awesome and deserves 5 stars, but I need to keep the "fuck yeah" shelf for only the best of the best.

What a wonderful story.
I really liked the way the author gradually unravelled the plot, and I was completely surprised by the fantastic twist at the end. Magnificent !
Actually, it is a story full of surprises - the characters are well developed, with human flaws and weakness, and I always appreciate this. By the end, both Beau and Kyle slipped away from the roles I had anticipated for them, which I found very moving. We all make mistakes, none of us are perfect, and sometimes life can unexpectedly be beautiful.
Oh dear God the sex scene is very, very hot. I felt my face contort and frown into what I.suppose was pure lust as I feverishly consumed the pages.
I very much liked the descriptive quality of the writing, particularly, I must admit, the physical appearances of the characters.
There is a kindness and warmth to the story, which appeals very much to a softie like me.
I love this author. She never disappoints.

It was a real pleasure to beta read this story - partly because it's such a smokin' hot read, and partly because it was so well written I didn't really have to do anything as a beta, leaving me to just sit back and enjoy it.
Kyle is completely adorable, an angelic, submissive blond twink (how could I resist?) 'lost' after his dom let him go 'for his own good,' who finds himself stranded in a bar on Valentines night, run by none other than the gorgeous, brawny dom Beau.
While the sexual tension between the men is palpable, there's also a yearning for each one to meet the needs of the other on a deeper level than just physical attraction. IMO, this is where Kim excels as a writer. Whether you're into reading about D/s relationships (I'm not usually) doesn't matter - Kim takes you right into the minds of the characters she writes about, making you understand their motivations completely.
And although the sex is incredibly...uh... sexy, this story is also rather (dare I say it?) romantic and sweet. Highly, highly recommended.

Just call me easy. I loved this sweet, itty-bitty story. I liked it enough to buy the rest of this author's books. Fine, so they were all free. Still, I took the time to find them and download them to my kindle. ;)

I was really into the beginning of this short and steamy little story. Good tension was building and then when Beau offers to give the stranded Kyle a ride home I'm thinking, "here we go, let the lovin' commence."
Then, as said lovin' commenced I was like. "Well this is damn steamy, but really? I don't think that would happen, hmmmmmmm."
So, I kept reading and then I was hit with the "D'awwwwwww" moment and everything made sense and it was ALL better. ALL better!

So the moral of the story is that if you're on a weekend getaway with your boyfriend and things turn to crap, have no fear because things can only get better!!
Kyle finds himself stranded at a bar and Beau enters the picture. Let's just say that Beau has a demanding presence and he's exactly what Kyle needs.
It's short so it's best to read for yourself, but I will say it went from good, to pretty damn hot, to a perfect ending :)

Short little freebie with a hint of kink.
No long backstories, but enough of the characters to give a good impression of who they are. It's nice and it's hot and the end is satisfying. I had my suspicions but went directly back to the beginning to re-read the clues!

I really enjoyed this satisfying, sexy short story about Kyle a young twink sub who's stranded by his fairly new boyfriend in a bar on Valentines day night run by the gruff but gorgeous Beau who obviously has Dom tendencies that our beautiful boy Kyle craves but is missing because his old master has let him down. Theres so much more to this story than meets the eye and I became totally engaged in what was going to finally happen between these two men. Very sexy, sensuous and also surprisingly romantic. The ending had me feeling all " Awwwwww" and a bit mushy. I especially liked the character of Law, he was fun and I think Kim should give him a story soon. I really liked this a lot and have a sneaky feeling I'll be reading it again. Wish it had been longer. Nice one Kim! 4.5*

A lovely short story full of depth and meaning. BDSM elements but not over-the-top or in any way ridiculous. Remarkable really, considering its length. There is a twist that came as a complete surprise. I loved it!

Reading this shimmering story is like unwrapping a multi- layered gift.
Kim Alan is such a good writer. She had me with the first page, and by the end I was drooling, hot and happy.
It is at heart, a story of failed communications and second chances. I cannot say more without giving anything away, but what a lovely surprise the end is.
It is well crafted and pacey, addictive and fulfilling. I have no idea how , but Kim manages to make it both sexy and cute.
I loved both MC's, probably more than is good for me.
I devoured it, like a greedy girl needing a spank.
