I was given a copy of this book by the author since she "owed" me a book from winning a previous contest. At that time I had purchased all her books to read so we agreed I would wait for the next one to come out. When she offered me an ARC of Predator's Kiss this week I jumped at the chance to read it!

What girl can resist a tall, dark, handsome, furry in all the right places, ornery man who has an inner bear that is not afraid to call him out when he is being a "MORON"! Well this one certainly can't that is for sure. This book was an easy, fantastic, hilarious, OMG she acutally wrote that coming out of "her" mouth!, devour in one sitting, 5 star read.

Our hero is a generous, intelligent, alpha male who has made his place in this world on his own and is quite (deservedly) proud of what he has and how he uses it to help others. The thorn in his paw is his cocky, irresponsible musician of a brother, a man who has created his own place in the world and is quite proud of all the beautiful women with whom he has shared his talents. Finally, our heroine arrives as a damsel in distress, bringing out the protective instincts of every man. Added to this lovely trio we have a potential hit man after the brother for sleeping with the wrong wife and a crazy stalker/fan who believes our novelist heroine belong with him - or no one. Plus we have the guests actually staying at the Lodge on vacation; families here to relax, let loose a little and give their children a place to learn to become confident in themselves and who they truly are. And no place could run as efficiently as the Lodge without the staff who work on and live near the island.

We have teenage hijinks and lessons learned. We have family drama and brotherly agression. We have sexual tension, crazy possessiveness and shifters ignoring the voices in their head. There is hilarious dialogue, intelligent, sassy, and insecure characters who learn the difference between lust and love. Sexual tension and scorching, tension easing love scenes with the appropriate stupid man moment. We have the good guys winning, the bad guys getting what they deserve and in the end, everyone gets exactly what they need.

Another fantastic book from Rosanna Leo and I await with great joy the next book in the series - Soren is my book boyfriend! :-D

This was lighter PNR fare than I'm accustomed to, but it's great how it reminded me why I love the genre in the first place, specifically shifter stories. (A certain bit between the hero and heroine while he was in bear form gave me the happy warm and fuzzy sighs.)

There was still some action, of course, and those were among my favorite scenes. But the external conflict our main characters faced wasn't the large scale life-as-we-know-it-is-at-risk kind I usually prefer. It was more personal. Which is totally cool, just not my preference. And some of the characters' thoughts and reactions during certain incidents seemed a bit off. Then again, I'm also aware not everybody is going to react the same way to things. So, no biggie really. ☺

A nice short and sexy read if you're in the mood for some classic PNR goodness.

I received a copy of this book from the author as part of the PNR NaUBA group's Author-Reader Exchange program for an honest review.

This was a wonderful, sweet story and I enjoyed it from beginning to end. There's not a whole lot of setup to things, but instead it gets right down to business, introducing us to the characters and their problems. The problems seem realistic enough, and their responses in how they deal with the stresses reflect thier characters well, I just wish there had been a bit more sense of real danger here, because for the most part the mood throughout is more comical than anything (though yes, some parts are quite steamy).

Lia seems like a pretty down to earth sort, very unassuming and quite shy and reluctant to engage with other people much despite her fame. Or perhaps because of it. She also has an unfortunate phobia of anything furry, though we do eventually find out that she has some valid reasons for the phobia. Like many heroines, she's reluctant to do much on her own behalf regarding her stalker besides run from him, but when it comes to others around her being threatened, especially those she's come to care for, she'll spring immediately into attack mode to defend them. Thankfully she eventually learns to harness some of that impulse for herself instead of just saving it for others.

Of the men, Ryland comes off as the most mature one, for he's been working hard for the last many years building up his resort to turn it into a haven for shifters. Even though all he really wants is a simple and quiet life, he doesn't balk when trouble lands on his doorstep, first in the form of his younger brother, and then in the form of Lia. Though a part of him certainly wants to turn them away so he doesn't have to get involved in their troubles, ultimately his own honor won't let him do that. Soren is family, so there's little question of Ryland helping him out really, and in Lia's case, all of his protective instincts demand that he help keep her safe. He of course resists his attraction to Lia for a long while, not simply because that's what heros in romance novels do but for some fairly valid reasons related to his past. He's a stubborn one, but even he eventually caves in to the inevitable.

While I did find this to be a very enjoyable read overall, I did have a few problems with it as well, mostly relating to some of the problems they had to overcome, some of which were fairly serious in nature such as Soren supposedly having a hit out on him and Lia having a crazed stalker. I felt that both of these problems ended up being solved far too easily really, but I suppose that's mostly because this is really a romantic comedy, not a romantic suspense novel. Both needed to be in there to give Soren and Lia a reason to be on the island at all, but other than that I think the story could have done without those plotlines and could have worked with just the other issues that were in play between them.

The bedroom scenery here was very nice, and pretty hot, though I'm going to have to disagree with some of the reviews I've seen regarding the honey scene because I have to say that I found it to be a bit of a turn off the way it was used. That's just me being too practical minded, however, and I certainly understand why many find it a very, ah, stimulating scene.

Overall this is another wonderful read by a fabulous new(ish) author and one that I expect has a very bright future ahead of her as an author. I for one will almost certainly devour anything she puts out in the future, and though I wasn't as taken with Soren in this book as some were, I look forward to reading his book as well. Anyone interested in paranormal romance, espcially with shifters, or in romance with a side of comedy will love this book. If you want a dark, angsty, or kinky read though you'd probably do well to look elsewhere. 4 solid stars and a strong recommendation for this one from me.

*Author provided me with this book and I offer a honest review*

My Thoughts:

Ok, everyone knows I'm gaga for Bear Shifters....and this book has two alpha Bears..a grizzly and a polar...what more could a girl like me want?? *sigh* nothing ..oh ..mm sorry got lost in a fantasy there for a minute *cough* ...yes review.. ok

In this first book of a wonderful new series Rosanna Leo has a hit on her hands. The book is a great easy read but offered the reader depth of characters with enough detail to make you understand the sibling relationship between the two brothers but also feel the love underneath the natural rivalry of two different personalities. I really liked that RL didn't introduce Lia in the first moments of the book but let us have a look into the workings of Ryland's mind. He is pretty gruff and is a real homebody but he does have his reasons. Then we are drawn into the conflict between the two bear brothers which is hilarious. Soren is definitely the lighter of the two bears with snark, and humor. Enter Lia, lost, pursued and having an innocence that you wouldn't expect to find in the writer of erotic romance. I won't give away too much of the meeting of the three but trust me...it is sooo funny.

The plot of gives our characters even more depth since RL has woven two suspenseful subplots into the book full of intrigue and peril. The main plot which is the love story of Ryland and Lia but also the underlying plot of the happenings at the Lodge and the many shifters we meet there. This book definitely ticks all the boxes for a blockbuster read. I have only one concern and that is that we were not given a lot of background on what happens at the Lodge, but seeing the name of the series I have a feeling we will find out a lot more about Gemini Island and what goes on there.

Rosanna Leo is a very talented writer with several books now available from her. Each book having it's own unique feel and flare. No copy cat writing for this talented lady. The steam factor in the book is high and well worth reading for those scenes alone but hey..I'm totally in love with Ryland so I might be a bit biased when it comes to him and steam *grin* If you enjoy reading about shifters and looking for something *different* in this genre you MUST give Predator's Kiss a read. I assure you ..this is a book you will put on your favorite's shelf so you can reread it again when you need a good book with a lightness that gives you that warm feeling all over *wink*

This perfect summer read has received 4.5 bright shiny stars I so can't wait for Soren's story which will be the next in the series. I can't wait for this womanizing musician to meet his romantic nemesis. This book needs to be on everyone's list of summer reads. It is perfect for that beach getaway!

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review LoP. What a fantastic find this treasure was. I love shifters, but I've never read about bear shifters before and they are fantastic! This book flowed smoothly, from awkward scenes to tense scenes (from a variety of reasons), scenes that were sensual. It was an easy read because it just flowed along. I have got to read the next one when it comes out. Don't pass on this one, it's amazing! Thank you, Rosanna, for allowing me to read it.

Young shifters go to Gemini Island to learn how to shift fast if the need arises so they can get out of danger. Ryland opened Gemini Island to families in the Summer and he stayed there year round. Ryland liked the peacefullness of the island. His brother, Soren was a famous musician and would be coming to the island for a visit. They weren't as close as they had been when they were younger but they were still brother's and that's what mattered. But Soren only showed up to hide out from the husband of a woman he had an affair with. The husband was connected and put a hit out on Soren so now he needs a place to lay low for a while. Ryland is not happy about this at all.

But just as the brother's are about to fight it out in their bear forms, they both hear a human woman running their way. Lia is scared out of her mind, running from someone that she thinks is after her. She runs through the woods and stops right in front of two huge bears, Ryland and Soren in their bear forms. Lia is crazy afraid of any animals and flips the heck out so they shift back to human which really doesn't help matters any. I'm not sure what this chick was more scared of, the bears or the fact they shifted into humans right in front of her.

Lia is an erotica author and on the run from a fan who's been stalking her. She ended up on Gemini Island and now Ryland is feeling all kinds of possessive of her. She's not completely sure of what she just saw but the brother's let her know that she's not in any danger from their bear halves. While Soren is hiding from a pissed off husband and Lia is hiding from a crazed fan, Ryland and Lia have time to get to know one another and act on the attraction they feel for each other.

There's a twist in this story that I never saw coming but I really liked how this ended and how fun this book was. The banter between all of them was just fun and I look forward to reading Soren's book soon too.

My Rating: ❤❤❤❤
VERY GOOD: The characteristics of a 4 star book include: a great story; I loved the characters; and there was an interesting plot and unique story elements; there may have been a few odd things kept the story from being amazing. I would read it again and I would recommend it to a friend.
Initial Reaction: Now THIS is a shifter story done right!

Rating's Breakdown:
Quality of writing: Very Good

Pace: Steady and easy

Characters: Absolutely charming! Ryland was the gruff and sexy alpha protector. Lia was the damsel in distress, but not weak or wimpy. Soren was the loveable, and also sexy, pain in the butt. The dynamic between the three was very complimentary and companionable.

Plot development: Very good and solid. It contained a couple of interesting plot lines because of Lia and Soren.

Story line: Interesting and immersive

Enjoyability: Very enjoyable

Heat Level: Sizzling
My Thoughts:
Predator’s Kiss was a highly engaging and dynamic ready from Rosanna Leo. The story basically opens with shifter Ryland Snow, owner of the Ursa Fishing Lodge, unhappily waiting for the arrival of his younger brother Soren, an über talented musical genius. Ryland is as surly as a bear with a thorn in its paw (pun intended) when Soren arrives in all of his glorified pomp. Where Ryland lives a casual and comfortable lifestyle, Soren lives in complete decadent. Ryland quickly discovers that Soren has not come to the lodge just to visit. Soren is hiding out because he has been a very bad boy by having an affair with a married woman. A married woman whose husband has quite possibly called a hit on his life. Since the siblings are as different as night and day, a very oil and water kind of relationship, the quickly get into a scuffle about their shifter prowess. Their scuffle escalates into a mock-battle in their furry forms in the woods.

Little do the boys know that they aren’t alone in them there woods. Famous author, Lia Goodblood is running terrified through the woods to escape a deranged fan. Ryland and Soren hear Lia’s approach and recognize that she is human but are unable to shift in time to go undiscovered. Imagine Lia’s surprise when she stumbles upon a grizzly bear (Ryland) and a polar bear (Soren) in the woods. And poor Lia who already has an unnatural (but understandable) fear of all things furry is absolutely terrified. So of course as she processes her course of action she settles upon the most obvious one for her…she faints cold. The brothers instantly shift back and immediately begin offering assistance albeit stark naked. They carry Lia into Soren’s cabin at the lodge and when she comes the fun really gets started.

I really enjoyed this story. It was light read, but not fluff, and had just enough intrigue to keep it interesting. The character dynamics were easy and they just fitted together really well. The Ryland and Soren dynamic was absolutely hilarious. Soren was a man whore and an absolute pain in Ryland’s butt in how he mercilessly teased him about his love of plaid. But he truly had a heart of gold in how he got Ryland to see (and eventually accept) his feelings for Lia. I am going to absolutely love seeing what Leo does with Soren’s mate.

With so many shifter stories, there is the instant connection and the “mate” “mine” bond. Although I can appreciate that in some stories it does become a bit tiring after the umpteenth shifter book. And I love my shifter books so I know. This book was a fresh take on the shifter bonding. Although Ryland experienced a strong attraction for Lia he did experience the instant and intense desire to throw her up against a tree and mark her as soon as they met. Leo allowed their attraction for one another was allowed to grow from a calm simmer to a sizzling hot boil.

As the inaugural book in the series, Predator’s Kiss did not have a lot of information about the world of the Gemini Island shifters. I would have liked more information about how the two brothers could be two different species of bear? Was one parent a grizzly and one a polar? Or were their shifted forms a factor of random genealogy? Although my questions were not answered in this book *sniff sniff*, I am hopeful that more depth will be revealed in the subsequent book(s).

Predator’s Kiss was a wonderful introduction to a fun and sexy new series.

My thoughts:

What happens when you put a gruff bear shifter and a female author on the run that is also terrified of animals on an island together? You get the funniest sexy story, pure shifter magic.

Lia is an erotic author with no sex life to speak of in real life so she writes books about it insead. She is also on the run from a crazy stalker, Lia is in for the adventure of her life. The first meeting with the hero in the story is so funny I almost peed in my pants. She is a no nonsense woman with a mind of her own and I love that she stand up for herself.

When you put Ryland a gruff bear shifter in plaid into the mix the fun really starts. He don`t like humans at all and especially not on HIS island. Oh well he is in for quite a ride.
On top of it all he has to handle his famous womanizing brother too, who has a world of trouble on his tail.

This plot is a wonderful set up for a great fun story that you hardly can put down. I sure got some new meanings to sentences like: watering the garden… I am a keen gardener in real life so this one is going to be much used in the years to come.lol Not to forget honey, oh my…. There are some lovemaking scenes in her that are just mouthwatering.
A fun, sexy and lovely written book I really enjoyed 5 stars.

This is a book for all lovers of TLC and Honey.

This was my first “Shifter” read and I found it to be a very sweet story.

Ryland is the owner of a private fishing lodge (The Ursa Fishing Lodge) on Gemini Island, which is basically a haven for the shifter race. A place where young shifters can learn to come into their own in peace where they'll be safe. A place where no one has to worry about being themselves.....Pure serenity.

Everything was indeed serene until Ryland's rock star hot shot brother Soren showed up fearing for his life. This comes as no surprise to Ryland why someone would want his brother's bear head stuffed and mounted in his home. Seems he's had a lifetime full of events like this, whether it be his womanizing ways, or his rock star habits. While they're about to hash it out in the woods after a heated argument in full bear form – a human woman shows up, obviously running away from something or some one. And lands herself right in front of a polar bear and a grizzly bear. Before she screams herself into oblivion, Ryland and Soren shift back to human form.

In all of their naked glory.... Poor girl passes out...

After they get her comfortable and settled in, Ryland already starts to feel this sort of pull of desire towards her. Soren just flat out see's her as just another sexual conquest. Especially when he figures out his brother may be harboring some feelings for her. They find out disturbing news when she awakens and reveals her identity – she's Lia Goodblood an up and coming author, who after debuting a smash hit in the Erotica genre has seemed to fancy herself a creepy stalker. Who wants to love her to death. . . Now the brothers must put their difficulties aside in order to keep Lia safe.

Trust will be tested and emotions will pull at you while Lia learns to overcome her fear of animals to be on an island populated by shifters while she hides from her crazed fan. In the end will she be able to stand proud next to her bear man... Whichever one she chooses?

The sensuality of Ms. Leo's writing is very in depth and her details to what the characters feel for each other are spot on. She will take you on a panty-clenching journey you won't forget any time soon. Let's just say that honey will definitely be on my list of things to try, for sure... *Snicker*

I was very happy with this book and cannot wait for the next one she writes for us!!

Predator's Kiss is the first book in Rosanna Leo new series "Gemini Island Shifers". I really like Rosanna's writing style. She writes in a way that makes the story flow which makes it more enjoyable to read.

The stories hero is Ryland Snow, the owner of a resort on Gemini Island. He loves the peacefulness and tranquility of the resort he created. This resort is for all shifters to come and relax. For the most part humans are not allowed in this resort. Soren, Rylands rock star brother, arrives at the resort because he has gotten himself into trouble and believes a hit man is trying to kill him and therefore stirs things up for Ryland! Rylands characters was a sweet guy. He matched what an older brother should be.

Lia, The heroine of the story, is on the run from a crazed fan. Shes an erotica author and has gotten creepy letters from this fan. So she decides to go into hiding. she finds herself on Gemini Island.

I really loved the interaction Ryland and Soren had with each other. They really felt like siblings. Some of the bickering was really funny!

As for Lia and Rylands relationship it was a great start but as the story went on the relationship started to frustrate me. They just kept beating around the bush about it. When they finally got it on I was hoping for the some spectacular explosive moment (since it was drawn out). Example ~ Like she really did leave because of her feeling about the "other night" and he ran after her and.... BAM!

Also the Soren situation came to an end very weird. It wasn't what I was expecting at all. (the hitman/sleeping with that guys wife issue)

Anyway it was a good start and am looking forward to where the author will take Soren!

I loved this book so much! It's a great start to a new series, I don't know how Rosanna does it but each book is every bit as a amazing and irresistible as the last! I just did not want to put this book down at any stage, it was too addictive!
I loved the characters and I will admit to Ryland being my favourite brother from the start! Don't get me wrong, I love Soren, he's fun but if the two brothers were in front of me (both single) I'd totally say see ya to Soren while dragging Ryland off somewhere private!
I loved the whole idea of the resort and the mentoring that Ryland gave to young shifters that came to the resort. The actual villain of the piece was a surprise, you expect it to be one of only two possibilities and then near the end a previously unknown possibility steps in.
The romance between Ryland and Lia was hot, the connection was forged fast but that's because they were true mates and deep inside they recognised how significant they were to each other, even if Ryland put up a struggle at first cause of the bad experience he'd had with a human girlfriend not so long ago. I loved how they grew closer and that she chose Ryland from the start, he was the brother that stood out for her right away!
I think Soren maybe grew up a little bit (but not too much!) in the book cause of the consequences he had to face for his sleeping around so I look forward to his book and seeing what girl manages to blindside him and tie him down!
Seriously, if you've not picked up a copy of Predator's Kiss, you need to! So addictive! The story is hot, sexy and funny! Just so so good!

Wow, I loved this book. Rosanna Leo is fast becoming one of my favourite writers!!

Ryder is a bear shifter, and this not only comes out when he shifts, but through his personality. He's a little growly, a little grumbly, and a whole lot sexy. I haven't read any bear shifter romances before, so it was great to see a new shifter and see different parts (usually they're all smooth and seductive - like Soren, Ryder's brother!) Don't get me wrong, Ryder is PLENTY seductive. There's a scene that has become infamous on Twitter in my little circle. Let's just say "Honey, you won't be disappointed" ;p

Lia was so funny and cute, a little strange in her own way (which I love) and had quirks that made it amusing to watch her fall in love with a bear shifter. I found her a likeable heroine, especially with the various obstacles that cropped up on the rocky road to a HEA.

These subplots were interesting and kept you on your toes, guessing where things were leading you next. I don't want to give any spoilers away, but I was always surprised what happened next - which is saying a lot for me as I usually can guess!!

I also really adored Soren, the hero's brother. Charming, cheeky, a little vulnerable. Great!

On a last note, the island Rosanna Leo has created is fascinating, and I love the idea of an island where shifters go to learn and heal. The idea is rich with future stories and I'm looking forward to seeing where Rosanna Leo takes us next.

This story is fun and addictive, sweet and sexy, and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Favourite line(s) “Was that one of the reasons he’d played Winnie-the-Pooh with her? To make her like him so she’d stay?”
AND I HAD to add this one too
“Did I happen to mention how much I like honey?”

Predator's Kiss was a yummy shifter story but, instead of wolves it has bears!! I love Bears!!
Ryland owns a island where shifters can be free to be well them selves and Lia rights those oh so yummy books I love (sorta like this author) She's running from a CRZY stalker when she literally numbs into a grizzly and polar bear and while screaming at the top of her lungs the change it the sexiest men she has ever seen.
It was a fabulous book that had me laughing, (honey) getting mad (stalkers), and war,ONG my heart. It's a amazing shifter love story but, has so much to make it different from the rest?
You really must read this book!

I was given book by author for an honest review.

This was a really nicely written feel good book. A definite must for anyone in a TLC kind of mood.

Both our hero and heroine have swerved slightly off the beaten path with quirks like an overwhelming fondness for plaid or a irrational fear of all things furry. They both accept each other and help each other however they can.

The setting is a lodge out on an island that caters to shifters. That being said, with all of the action in this book it started to seem like Grand Central Station with stalkers, fans, shifters and the authorities all converging on this resort. I liked the setting (Northern Ontario) since it is somewhere that I have been many a time and can easily imagine. The action of the novel was well paced with frequent humorous exchanges between the characters in the novel.

Another solid read from this author.

I don't know why this book sat in my TBR pile for so long because it ticks all my boxes at first glance: it has bear shifters and a beautiful cover! I have read Rosanna Leo's The Selkie (and loved it), and Predator's Kiss also didn't disappoint. I loved Ryland and his connection with the Lia, and somehow their romance seemed to be both sugary sweet and super sexy. Rosanna Leo's books alway leave me feeling good guaranteed, so she has now been bumped to one of my comfort read authors. I highly recommend to anyone that loves a sweet and hot shifter story.

Bear Delicious!

Oh my, why did I wait so long to read this. What an excellent read.

The surrounding settings is perfect for shapeshifters on Gemini Island . Ryland Snow had me aching for desires that his persona was sparking throughout the whole book. I fell in love with this well guarded heart felt Bear man.

I absolutely loved Lia Goodblood. Her being an erotic author was fabulous for a character background. I loved her attitude and inner thoughts. I totally related to her character. She wasn’t really a weak character, a scared of an outcome character but in the end she showed her true ballsy strength when she stood up for what she loved.

The chemistry between Lia and Ryland was toxic, the way they laughed and their mental link of feelings about the same things really showed how being the perfect mate is supposed to be. I was so entranced with their happiness and their passion for each other.

I loved his sexy brother Soren too and want to see him get his own story with someone who is as sexy and talented as he is. I love the fact he is a musician and famous. Will he be able to get rid of all the groupies and fans that constantly chase him. Will he keep his love in his pants long enough to find the right girl to mate with? Boy I hope he gets his story.

I look forward to reading this whole series now that I got a taste I want it all. LOL.

Thank you Rosanna Leo for this awesome world to dwell into. The characters humor, the exciting plot with many twist and turns, the numerous emotions from the characters and the ones you made me feel, and most importantly Thank you for the HEA that makes you want more.

Excellent read, I highly recommend this paranormal romance to all paranormal fans. The erotic scenes are very tasteful.

The enormous grizzly bear stalked toward the teenagers, its footfall eerily quiet for such a large beast.

And what a beast! One that we would very much like to cuddle with, once we see his human side ;)

But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's take it from the beginning, shall we?

Lia Goodblood, an erotica writer, is running from her biggest fan, who happens to be a creepy stalker that wants to do some very freaky stuff to her. She ends up on Gemini Island, where Ryland Snow, the gruff, human-wary, bear shifter that owns the Ursa Fishing Lodge, has a major problem of his own. His little horndog - well, bear - of a brother, has come asking for a place to hide, as he has become a hitman's target for sleeping with the wrong man's wife. A fragile human that calls to his protective instincts and fears everything furry is the last thing he needs. But he can't seem to let Lia go - and his inner bear wants a taste of the petite woman and will not be denied.

Time to meet the main couple. Say hello to Ryland!

And Lia!

And may I just say, they were both wonderful! It's quite rare for me to like both characters in a romance-focused book, but it really happened here.

Ryland was so dreamy, I was in love with him before I even reached the part where - through Lia - we were given his physical description. Granted, I'm not much of a hairy-man fan, but this one just called to me. He was gruff, cuddly and sexy, and he wore plaid - AND HE'S A BITER! The petting session was adorable, and a certain smutty scene was epic - God, the man knows how to use his fingers! The only thing that bothered me was the fact he works out at a gym - I would have preferred him to be this way thanks to labor work and contact with nature - kinda like a sexier version of a lumberjack, you know?

And I don't know about you, but he can be the lumberjack to my Red Riding Hood any day of the week!

Lia was equally amazing. A true match for Ryland, she completed him in ways the writer didn't even have to point out. I loved how she was always so ready to defend her book, how she jumped in the mere sight of a bunny, but stood her ground when it came to men twice her size. And she may be a hot blooded woman and blush sometimes over Soren (Ry's little bro), but the woman knows what she wants. However, let me just say this - and I don't know how weird it will sound - her writing wasn't as good as Rosanna's. I know, I know, technically, she is Rosanna's character, thus her writing belongs to Rosanna as well, but honestly, no. It was different in some small details, and that was what made me say "Hmmm, she's not as good as her creator". Does that make any sense?

Anyway, concerning the story in general. If you haven't read it, DO IT ASAP! I already had some of Mrs. Leo's books in my TR list, but once I started reading Predator's Kiss, I was sold. My money's on her! Like I said above, she was so good at creating her characters, they connected in a way that she didn't have to describe. She showed their story and let them do the talking for her. Not to mention she didn't stray from the main plot line. Lia and Ryland never lost focus of the danger that brought them together until it was over. Often we see couples in books like this that meet thanks to an outer danger, and, after they hook up, suddenly, oh-so-magically, they forget that, hey, a maniac/stalker/serial killer/apocalypse is out there! But no, not here. Ryland falls in love with Lia, but her safety is still one of his priorities, and he doesn't forget that his brother is also in trouble. (and, ok, I may have wanted to wring Soren's neck for interrupting them most of the time, but come on, I'm not that cruel to wish him truly dead)

And for the sake of my sanity, I won't even tread on the "smutty" ground. Because, I'm telling you, this writer knows her sex scenes! Boy, she didn't even need to write one with all the tension in the air, and Ryland being... well, him. I'm telling you, he would get to touch Lia, and I WOULD BE THE ONE MELTING! One thing's for sure, though, I will never look at a jar of honey the same way again....

The only thing that sort of bugged me, was the info on Karen. I would have liked some more details on her blackmail act. Still, it wasn't something that took anything out of the story, just my own curiosity. No reason for a book as good as this to lose its 5 stars!

"My heart was pounding so hard I got scared. I’m not one to get scared, Lia, but you scare the shit out of me. You’re incredible." - Ryland Snow

Would I read it again - Yes
Plot - well developed, great flow
Characters - well developed, simple, warm, nice background stories
Movie Potential - ★★★★☆
Ease of reading - very easy

***I was given this book in exchange for honest review (LoP)***

Okay, so to start, let me say that I loved this book. I read it in two sittings, devouring it like a little hungry bear cub J

However - being an erotic romance book, there is a use of profanity, and sexually explicit scenes and words. If you are easily offended by things like this, I’d give it a miss. That is the only reason I’ve given it 4 stars and not 5. For the fact that some of the words are a little crass and off putting at times and that is why it has lowered the movie potential too.

Saying that, I do love the book. I thought the plot and the characters were equally well developed throughout. No-one was stationary or got boring. Even the romance, ‘erotica parts didn’t take over from the flow of the story. The sex scenes didn’t feel unnecessary or take over the book, they were integral to the developing feelings of the characters. And I thought adding in snippets of the novel the main female character was writing was also a nice touch. Overall, the book came off to me as a well rounded romance.

I liked the bear community, the backstories of the characters and how they were weaved into the story rather than begin thrown at you all at once. I liked the unexaggerated and believable topic. I’ve never read of bear-shifters before and found it highly inspired. Not once did it sound silly or ridiculous.

To my surprise, I actually really liked Soren, the main characters brother. I didn’t expect to, but he was fun and light and charming. And very dedicated to seeing his brother happy for once. I really liked Ryland too, and what he stood for and was trying to do. I thought the addition of a crime/mystery aspect was genius - it allowed the romance to flow and falter and more around a little more freely. I liked that there were many enemies involved, that you had to look out for and be suspicious about, but it was never quite clear which was the more dangerous. I also liked that you had no idea who was responsible until the end. And even then it wasn’t just some random character never mentioned until the last chapter.

I can’t wait to delve into move of Rosanna’s books.

Book: Predator's Serenade

My fingers are singed from holding my Kindle while reading this smoking hot series by ROSANNA LEO. I've had both of these books on my Kindle since August 16th. I'm a huge fan of Ms. Leo's writing. I promised myself that I would hold off on reading this series until I was on vacation so I knew I'd have at least two books that I would really enjoy.

Every time I turned my Kindle on, those beautiful covers taunted me. I'd slip up and "accidentally" press one of those book covers and read the first page. Then I'd chastise myself for having no will power at all. Finally, I just couldn't stop myself from continuing on to page two. I then had the bright idea that I'd just read the first book in the series and keep the second book for vacation.

If you are at all familiar with any of Ms. Leo's amazing shifter books, you know that I was just in denial. I finished Predator's Kiss, closed the book and stared at the cover of Predator's Serenade for a full five minutes before I decided that there was no way in hell I was going to hold off on reading it until vacation.

Ms. Leo introduced me to my first Selkie man in her Oarkney Series and through her writing, I fell hard for those beautiful, passionate shifter men. Now, in the Gemini Island Shifters Series, Ms. Leo has introduced me to bear shifters. I'm falling in love all over again.

Ms. Leo's characters are strong, passionate, thick-headed men that need a good strong woman to put them in their place. I just simply can't get enough of her writing style, and did I mention the sizzling love scenes? Whew! Hold on to your britches, because they are scorching hot!

The Gemini Island Shifters Series by Rosanna Leo was fun to read, funny, sexy, heartwarming and even suspenseful at times. Predator's Kiss and Predator's Serenade are both stand alone, but I'm here to tell you that once you read one, you're just going to have to read the other.

That it took me so long to finish this book is no reflection on Rosanna Leo's writing or this story. It was nothing more than my own crazy life constantly getting in the way of my reading time. Darn adult responsibilities! I finally got some time to myself today and the first thing I did was spend some time with sexy bear shifters. It was time well spent indeed!

This was a very sweet, sexy, lighthearted, story, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. As always, I love Rosanna Leo's humor and her characters. Ryland was feeling so put upon in the beginning that I couldn't help but giggle a little, though I did sympathize (after all, we all have that person in our families, don't we? ;) ). But he was also really kind and thoughtful and oh, so sexy--who knew a bear could be so HOT??? Lia felt to me like she could have been a real woman instead of an idealized, unrealistic fantasy, and I always appreciate that. I liked Soren too, but he didn't feel as fleshed out to me as Ryland and Lia. Which I suppose makes sense since he was really a side character here. I'm looking forward to reading his story one day, though. ;)

This is a pretty fast-paced story. Things start right in from the beginning and move quickly from there without many pauses. The tension never built to a point that made me anxious, but as I said this was a lighthearted, fun read. The romance was so sweet and I really liked that there wasn't a huge amount of angst before they admitted they wanted to be with each other. I like angst as much as the next girl, but sometimes I just want to read something fun and happy. And Predator's Kiss was perfect! And when they did come together...*sigh*...SOOO steamy!

There were a couple of things that prevented me from giving this 5 stars, however. First, I was a little confused as to why Ryland and Soren shifted into different species of bears, as it was never explained. Second, I felt like the reasons Soren and Lia were on the island with Ryland were wrapped up a bit too neatly and quickly. I also would have liked to get a bit of a deeper look into the bear shifter society. Hopefully we'll learn a bit more about them as the series progresses.

I'm looking forward to the next book!

Predator's Kiss

Gemini Island is a place where families come to have fun, relax, be one with nature and most importantly to be themselves. This is important because there are not too many places where shifters can have a safe haven. Ryland, owner of Gemini island and a bear shifter, takes pride in giving shifters a vacation spot where they can shift and do what comes natural. When he gets a message from his brother Soren, Ryland knows trouble is coming. When Soren arrives, Ryland finds out that trouble is in deed following his brother, because of his philandering ways. So in true shifter form, they shift and start to fight. Just as it is starting, they hear a woman running through the woods scared. When Lia runs through the woods and stumbles upon a grizzly and a polar bear in the woods she stops, screams and then faints. When Lia wakes, she is in a strange cabin, in a bed and 2 naked but covered, very hot males in her room....but she wonders where are the bears?? Ryland, has his hands full with the resort, danger from his brother, and Lia brings danger along with her both for herself and Ryland!

What a wonderful start to a series. Ryland is a outdoors man who has a prejudice against humans because of a past girlfriend, and has no idea what he is getting into. Lia, running from a crazed stalker, just happens to pick an island full of shifters. Soren, is just having fun messing with his brother. Mix these 3 up with shootings, stalkers, hit men, and some intense sexual tension...makes for a wonderful book. I laughed a few times in this light hearted, fun book. The tension between Lia and Ryland is intense and does not disappoint. The ending was action packed and fitting. Loved the book, Rosanna please send me the next ones.

This review will appear at My Secret Romance Book Reviews

Paranormal romances are so much fun. There is so much you can do with them. You are not bound by the constraints of working with only full human characters. In Predator’s Kiss author Rosanna Leo takes advantage of those allowances and gave readers and amazing bear-shifter stories.

There are not many bear-shifter stories out there. Most shifter stories I’ve found revolve around wolf-shifters and large cat-shifters. One of the fun things about bear-shifter stories is their contradictory nature. They’re usually cantankerous and set in their ways. However, once they find that one person, they’re cuddly and protective!

Ryland is no exception to this! He’s a loner (for the most part), set in his ways, and wants no part of humans. When Lia literally runs into Ryland and his brother (as bears no less), Ryland takes an instant like to her and HE HATES IT! Lia, bless her heart had to deal with being chased by paparazzi, a stalker and finding out about bear-shifters. Talk about a rough day!

Ryland and Lia’s courtship was fun to watch. They were both fighting different things while at the same time wanting each other. Ryland, being the big fuzzy bear he is, set out to protect Lia. When they finally give in to their simmering passion, it becomes white hot. They are so good together and the passion they feel for each other comes across very well.

The added tension of the stalker and paparazzi enhances the story beyond just a romance. I loved the ending. I was on the edge of my seat and was totally unprepared for who it was. I was completely surprised by that one!

I’m looking forward to the next book in this series as we once again have a bear shifter! This time it’s Ryland’s brother, Soren, who was a beautifully antagonistic brother in this story!

Taking a step away from her usual mythological gods Rosanna Leo's newest book Predator's Kiss is about brothers who are bear shifters and a very frightened erotic romance writer who is being stalked.

With the unique idea of a vacation lodge and private island for shifters, Predator's Kiss is funny, sexy and even suspenseful. Ms Leo has a way of painted pictures with her stories so that you can imagine the wild things in her books actually happening. I fell in love with the grumpy grizzly shifter, who is also the hero of Predator's Kiss, Ryland. His younger brother Soren is a pain as little brothers usually are but the love between the siblings comes through, and Lia (who you have to wonder if Rosanna didn't write a little like someone she knows) is a erotic romance writer and ends up on Gemini Island while trying to escape a stalking fan.

The bk is steamy in all the best ways and we also learn little tidbits about the mating habits of bears :O) Ry is strong, demanding, tender and protective. Lia can take whatever he can give her and more.

I understand that the next book in the series will feature Soren the polar bear shifter brother or Ryland. I will be looking to add that to my library as soon as it is available.

I recieved this book in exchange for my honest review.

As a fan gal of Rosanna's mythological romances, I wasn't quite sure if the bear shifters could compare. Boy, was I wrong!

Ryland is a sweet, sexy, protective bear. His brother, Soren, is a wild child musician polar bear. Pardon the pun...but the brothers are polar opposites. Ryland with his plaid shirted self strolled out of the page and captured my heart. Sensitive, sweet, and sexy. Win win win.

The heroine, Lia, is an erotic romance author on the run from a crazed stalker and ends up in the arms of Ryland. Soren, true to nature, is there to cause trouble and the antics are at times hilarious and heartbreaking.

Overall, I enjoyed book 1 of the Gemini Island Shifters and I'm looking forward to Soren's tale!

Yummy, yum, yum!

A beautiful woman in danger...
A crazed man on the loose...
And a sexy shifter that makes her toes curl!!

And even though Ryland Snow is a fictional character, I must confess that he managed to curl my toes as well! This was my first book written by Rosanna Leo and it definitely won't be my last! I can't wait to read part two of this series, Predator's Serenade, which is about Ryland's cocky, rock-star brother.

Hopefully, there is also some mention of Ryland and his new mate, Lia, as well!

While I enjoyed the story I found that I had trouble with the language the author used. I understand that the MC was a writer of historical erotic romance however the off and on formal tone of this book just didn't work for me all the time.

Having said that I found the characters likeable.
