Alice & Fain
Oh how I will miss them
I tried to take my time with this book since it is the last one in the series….I just couldn’t….I needed to know all of the things right now!!! This book made me mad, sad and ecstatic all at the same time….
I knew Dray and his horrible self would reappear….oh did he ever…about the time I was starting to feel sorry for him I figured out I had him all wrong…while parts of his story were a bit much to take in he was definitely needed….you get a lot of information from him that helps make parts of past books make more sense…..
We also got to see a lot more growth to Alice and Fain….over the series their characters changed a lot….I think they both finally truly understand each other completely…isn’t that all we really want from our partner….to be heard and understood
As always before reading check out the trigger warnings….there are a few and some can be a bit much for some people
Overall there were several parts of the other books in this series I really liked but I think as a whole this book was my favorite of the series…..give the series a read and you will understand why…..the ending to the series was 😍😍😍 but I’m sad it is over
“The Fae Girl,” series is a fantastic ride through fantasy and myth. The FMC is a young orphaned girl named Alice who inherits a huge mansion in the English countryside from an estranged and deceased uncle. Upon arrival she is instantly struck by the grandeur and beauty of the manor and countryside that she now own. She soon learns however that her land holds many secrets…one of which changes her life forever!
**SPOILERS**
This series was really riveting! Alice is a thoroughly believable and developed character, and by the end of the series you have come to adore her growth and strength. Prince Fain (although he and Alice had a rocky start) is a wonderful counterpart for Alice. Their love story is so lovely, and interwoven so well with all the fantasy aspects of the book that you can’t help but fall hopelessly in love with them both! You root for them throughout the series, and even when they’re going through horribly difficult times, you root for them and pray that they find their way back to one another!
The only reason I gave this book 3 instead of 4, or 5 stars was because you barely got to see Alice and Fain together during A Place of Crowns & Chains. Since this book was the epic conclusion to the series the author spent so much time “tying up loose ends,” and “introducing us to the MAIN villain, the “puppeteer” that had been pulling the strings throughout all the other books, that we really had almost no one-on-one time with Alice and Fain. I felt a little “cheated,” because Alice had just become queen (I wanted to read more about that) when suddenly she’s taken away (kidnapped) by the main “baddie,” Dray, the other Royal Alarin Fae (this one however is evil and uses DARK MAGIC). Apparently Dray has been the mastermind behind everything, (most of the other awful occurrences in the other books) and has been planning to annihilate humans and build a Fae only world. He’s been obsessed with Alice since she “crossed over,” into their world, and has the deluded notion that Alice is meant to be his Queen because of some stupid “marriage contract” her parents apparently made with Dray before she was even freaking born!
The series was truly captivating, and introduced such fascinating and well developed characters. I only wish that Alice and Fain’s relationship would’ve continued to grow in this last book. Instead it felt as if book 1 through 4 had them both growing emotionally and as a couple, only to get REALLY STUNTED in book 5.
However, for any lover of fantasy fiction and romance, I’d absolutely recommend reading “The Fae Girl,” series.
I hate that this was the last book in the series. I have really enjoyed it. The growth of Fain and Alice was fun to "see". I'm glad Fain and Alice got their HEA even after all the lies and secrets they kept from each other. Well written with great characters. Very detailed and written world. Thanks for the story.

I have highly enjoyed this series and am both sad and happy to read the final book. It has been such a wonderful journey of sacrifice, love, self-discovery, and lots of action and fantasy. A great series I will recommend to every fantasy lover.

Throughout the book I found myself extremely angry or frustrated with Alice and high Prince Fain. Him being high-handed or not divorging all information. Her doing the same thing not divorcing all information. And the workbook they promise to be honest and not keep any more secrets. Yeah throughout this last book Alice did nothing but lie to him. Even with that said my heart broke when Dray kidnapped her. I do feel like she was partially at fault because you put everybody at a disadvantage by keeping secrets and lying. I'm extremely happy that they finally got their happy ever after. But my heart breaks that the story is over. I became so invested in these books that I was eating, breathing and sleeping these books. I literally would dream about these books and now it's all over. I would love if there would be a story in the future when the kids are grown.

Our heroine has fought hard to get where she is now and she is not going to give it up without a fight. With our hero and her own people at her side, she just might be able to pull it off.
This is book five of the series and its conclusion. I strongly recommend reading them in order.
This is a fantasy story featuring the fae. The story is well written and comes with a well detailed and fascinating setting. The characters are also well developed and provide an excellent cast for our story. Including the fae in the story means there is plenty of intrigue, as well as action making for a fast paced story. Overall, this series was a lot of fun. I look forward to seeing our author's next creation.
Highly recommended.
