I have always been a fan of Hari Bansha Acharya. First of all as a critic it is important to understand that he is a comedian and not a writer. This book is his first try at writing something apart from the comedy scripts of his show. The best thing about this book is that it has moments that make you laugh out loud as well as moments that water your eyes. All in all, it is a good one-time read. And a must read for the fans who love the comedian Hari Bansha Acharya. As this autobiography includes the light moments in his life and inspirations for the well-known characters he portrays on screen, as well as the serious Hari Bansha Acharya who lost his wife at such a young age, his struggles and moments of utter pain, as a reader, you will respect his serious side as much as you have loved his comedian side. And yes the life-long friendship between him and Madan Krishna Shrestha is really aweing.

I remember watching Hari Bansha on Gai Jatra stage and later on VCDs and television. But reading the reality and scenarios while making them was totally a new experience for me.
I have watched many theatre play, but why did I never realized what goes on in the back side of the stage, struggle of the artists.
Reading this novel changed my perspective of seeing actors (artists as a whole).
This inspiring book gives laughter and brings tears to the eye.
I have never completed one whole Nepali book apart from those which were compulsion in school. This book was written in such a simple tone which I could grasp easily.
I would like to thank Hari Bansha Acharya for sharing his stories.

With his popularity, it is hard not to read his book. Hari Bansha Acharya has always been one of my favourite actors of Nepal. He is one of those people that were born to do what they are doing.

Throughout the book, few times my subconscious mind thought 'why did he have to include this?' but immediately I realised that those are the things that is making his book even more enjoyable to read. We read so many gossip columns and interviews about the artists to know about their daily lives and other things such as what exactly happens behind the scenes. Mr Acharya has opened up everything. Just the way it is and the way we want to hear and read.

He has talked about everything: his childhood, family, struggling life to film industry, love story with his beloved wife Mira Acharya to her death, life with second wife Ramila Pathak, friendship with Madan Krishna Shrestha, and their social, political and film work together. This is the story that makes you laugh and cry, teaches you about history and politics, gossips about the stars, and at the same time, tells you the life story of everyone's favourite artist: Hari Bansha Acharya.

You can see from the book that he didn't want to hide anything but just tell us his story as it happened. Obviously, we have to keep in mind that he is not a book writer but he has done pretty good job. Besides his movies and dramas and telefilms, this is one gift of Mr Acharya to his well wishers that people will remember forever.

It was a quick read, and for a moment I was a little dissatisfied. But then I thought the book must have been written with an intention 'may everyone understand/enjoy this book, regardless of reader's age'.

Having watched almost all of his televised shows and listened to most of recorded plays, I found it fun to learn what happened behind the scenes. I specially enjoyed his word choices and overt use of slangs, a lot of which I still use with my friends.

There are so many great short stories in the book, I hope someday some of them will be elaborated. Stories of this genuine revolutionary will inspire current and generations to come if properly passed on.

Hari Bansa Acharya by far is my favorite actor and comedian in Nepal. And after reading this book I felt that he is an excellent human being too. His struggles in professional and family life, his ability to rise from the grief and accept life as it is, the way he has helped people from every background are very inspiring to read. Moreover, this book shows that how down to earth person he really is. Books are the mirror of life and this really is Hari Bansa Acharya's mirror. He has poured out his heart in this book. Its about a man who loses his father and mother at a young age, struggles for everything in life but never loses hope, finds some excellent friends and loving wife who make his life, and who are is life. It is also about, grief of losing wife, and then going under the tunnel of despair and depression. Its about finding life again and managing to laugh and make people laugh again.
This book gave me both tears and joy. Made me laugh at first, then cry in the end. One of the finest autobiographies I have read so far.

Completed reading autobiography of Our very own MR.Hari Bansha Acharya,I barely read books but this was the first on my list and pretty sure will not be the last as it gave me a reason why you should start reading books. A mere comedian and dramatist Mr.acharya which people usually see has loosened the stories of his life in a beautiful way.A flow of his life, how he goes through the happenings of life has been highlighted. The feelings of sentiments and reality of life while reading these book are unexplainable. I Recommend it to everyone!!

A combo of fun, love, song(ps.ofcourse merely lyrics you have to compose yourself 😅), friendship and tragedy. A brief tour on life of the person who lost his china. A you-must-have-this-book kinda book. Its a biography and that one book which was hilarious to next level. I literally laugh out loud in public places reading this book so a free advice- do not read in public place. I read it twice and its like the TV show FRIENDS; no matter how many times you watch it u find it as funny as the first time. :)))

I enjoyed reading the twist and turns in life of one of the most versatile actor in Nepal. Despite being a comedian at the stage, serials and many more films I was amazed to know the sorrows of his life. Pretty interesting book :)

China Harayeko Manche, as anticipated, was hilarious, poignant and engaging throughout. However, the mid section of the book wasn't as hilarious.(Because we expect too much humour from this legend)!
The initial days of Hari Bansha Acharya were full of struggles and hardships but he painted it so beautifully using his amazing sense of humour. You, at some points will laugh at his hardships. The mid section is his journey after meeting Madan Krishna Shestha and their fair share of political encounters is a testament of the nation's political scenario at various timelines. The pages with Meera Acharya will make you wonder if husbands are really as loving as the writer. I, as a girl, found myself asking for a partner as good as Hari Bansha Acharya, if not better. Meera's character was too good to be true and i also wondered if i could become as good a human as Hari Bansha's portrayal of Meera. Meera Acharya and Hari Bansha Acharya's love story is sweet in the beginning, sweeter in the middle but tragic and poignant in the end. It's the USP of the book, for me at least. The ending, however, i found abrupt and sudden. May be because i wanted more from the writer. I don't know.
All in all an amazing book ! No wonder, the writers were jealous of him( as he mentioned in some of his interviews).

It was a bitter-sweet read for me. This book took me to a nostalgic trip to my childhood when I used watch their shows and laugh so hard to the point I would be crying or get so scared I would be crying. Either way I would end up crying. I will never forget People of all ages from elders to kids (like me when I was 6 or 7 years old) got together to watch their shows together. They really did used to bring everyone together as a community and make content for everyone.

The book talks about his relationship with people around him and the personal affairs Madan Dai and he was dealing with while making whole country laugh just made me gain more respect for Maha Jodi. Just like any of their shows, this book is written for everyone to read. It was quite easy to start and get hooked on to his interesting stories. I read this as a group for my reading club in an attempt to improve reading Nepali for my siblings who have elementary level of language proficiency and they were enjoying it as well.

Even if you did not watch Maha Jodi, I would definitely recommend reading this book at least once. You will definitely laugh a little and cry a little.

This is my first ever Nepali language book which i finished reading. If you are a true fan of Mr. Hari Bansha Acharya, the book is a must read.

Since he is a comedian and not a writer, the language and writing style is very simple which is easy to follow. The beginning will make you laugh, the middle will make you question everything and really dwell into some thoughts and the ending will make you cry.

He has really opened himself and his life in the book with nothing hidden. You will love his serious side as much as you love his lighter side. A look into the traditional values as well as religious taboos, some bitter facts about politics and a rise in his career along side the friendship with Mr. Madan Krishna Shrestha is endearing with the support of his first love and wife Late Mrs. Mira and also his second wife Mrs. Ramila.

The book is a great gift to his admirers. I suggest you read it once.

I have always been a big fan of Haribansa Acharya. Recognized him first from the show, "Madanbahadur, Haribahadur". Then loved him even more in balidaan. I had wanted to read this book from a very long time and got my opportunity now. It made me smile mostly, but also made me cry; learn about love, friendship, loss, hardwork, finding your purpose in life. I'm sure most people have already read this and I'm late to the party, but this will be one of the books I'll be recommending everyone to read at least once.

You can find many grammatical errors, but acceptable. This book is a biography of a beloved artist Hari Bansha Acharya. His struggles for his career, his desperation to save his wife, his friendship with Madan Krishna Shrestha, everything described in this book is inspirational. If you haven't read this, surely go for it.
